A crystal ball or a crystal womb! Ok, not a fragile one, but one you can see through :) That's true though iggi your Dopplar caused more anxiety than calm at some points.

Chucking away at nipple cheese Digi Grin Another thing to add to my growing list of new experiences.

Stogan · 11/01/2012 18:44

Oh god the nipple cheese is terrible !!! Mine leak like taps I've been wearing breast pads since 2nd Jan, Christ knows what they'll be like if I manage to breastfeed !!!Grin

snoopygirl · 11/01/2012 19:47

Yuk cheesey stuff (had it when breastfeeding or attempting to)... dinner anyone!

coley there was a lady in boots and jeans with v dark hair, slim and flitting in and out of side room, that may have been you as I was there from 1.50pm. it's funny you just want to ask everyone if their on MN. There were also two ladies there as well registering and wanted to share MN with them too but sensibly I just kept quiet and skulked in corner reading Hello. I was bit nervous as I was on own today.
Dr S said he normally likes people to be giving it 6 months but appreciated my time pressures.
Good to have a plan anyway.

ColeyOz · 11/01/2012 20:20

Yes - that was me snoopy:) Such a pity we didn't have a chance to chat. It would be nice to have put a face to the name.

Good luck with the super ovulation - I hope that is the thing to get you that BFP really soon!

picolina123 · 11/01/2012 20:50

hi there,
had a very stressfull, tearfull day. couldnt sleep last night , managed to fall around 3am and woke up at 5ish with a pain in my lower right side that had been on and off for the last week, im thinking the worse and its ectopic !! we went to epau and its too early to scan and my hormone level they said was high and they were worried they couldnt see anything on ultrasound but it is still not even 5 weeks, they want to do the vaginal ultrasound but i have such a phobia about stuff like that , took me 20 yrs to do a smear and that was with trying with countless docs telling me to relax and i just kept tensing. i found a private nurse at work who gave me relaxing excercises, i know everyone just does it and i wish it could be that easy for me! i have to be positive as i have to have this done but im dreding it.
the pain is not acute, just dull , i could have even pulled something or it could have been caused by my constipation but i didnt feel it the other times i was pregnant but i so hoping its nothing like that. ive had the flu , been on new meds etc , my temp was 99.4 half an hour ago.

digitalgirl · 11/01/2012 21:00

picolina oh you poor thing - sorry you've been so worried. I've had quite a few internal scans and they're nowhere near as uncomfortable as a smear. Some of us on mn call them 'dildocams' as they cover it with a condom and smear lube on it so it goes in easy.

OP posts:
picolina123 · 11/01/2012 21:10

i tried to do one after my last miscarriage and could relax, but i like that dildocams, maybe i need to find the humor in it , any more funny saying ?? that put a smile on my face . maybe i need to get one an practice ..

picolina123 · 11/01/2012 21:11

that was couldnt relax not could

Coconutfeet · 11/01/2012 21:24

Cornflakes ? So sorry to read sad news. I really hope you?re taking all the time you need to look after yourself. When you feel ready to try again Mr S will take a careful look at you and make adjustments to your treatment to give you the best possible chance of a successful outcome next time.

Picolina ? That sounds really worrying for you. I second Digi that the dildocam?s nowhere near as bad as a smear. I really hope you get some news soon.

Coley and Battery ? Great news on the scans!!

Free ? if there does turn out to be a problem with your hospital referral, you could get referred to your local place and then try and do a self-referral to Epsom. That?s what I?m going to do with Homerton slightly later in the pregnancy. At the moment it?s easier for me to pop down the road to my local place but they have said I can self-refer there any time.

On the subject of discharge, someone earlier said that it felt like they were bleeding, and I?ve had exactly the same. It?s almost a bit of a gush sometimes and makes me rush to the loo. Completely normal apparently. Nipple cheese is one thing I haven?t had to contend with so far, thankfully.

Hope tomorrow goes well, Charlie and Free.

Free, if you feel like you dare take the plunge after tomorrow, I got some really nice maternity bits in the Seraphine sale. The sale looks like it?s still on, but I?m not sure how much stuff they?ve got left. I ordered quite a few things at 50% off expecting to send loads back but ended up keeping everything except a cardigan. Super quick delivery too.

Waves to everyone else!

picolina123 · 11/01/2012 21:34

thanks everyone, i needed a bit of a giggle

suemays · 11/01/2012 21:41

Pico its probably just your body moving around for the pregnancy - I would get the internal scan done to help see whats going on. As Digi said they are not that bad and dont hurt.

Cornflakes so sorry to hear about the miscarriage but as a few others have said, it is quite common to have one on the plan and then go on to have a successful pregnancy. You won't take much consolation at that during this time I should imagine though.

Snoopy fingers crossed you will get a BFP this month. I wished for that but had the chemical pregnancy instead! I am on day 3 of the letrozole now so hopefully will have some nice eggs on the boil by day 10!
BTW ladies on the superov plan, not sure if I mentioned it but I am getting my follicle scan done locally (Amersham) rather than by Newlife as they didnt have any appointments on the day I needed next week. It turns out it is fine to do that and the sonographer will send off the results to Dr S which he will then review and write another prescription. It works out at around £50 cheaper to do it this way even though that was not the reason for doing it! You all know how I love to try and save everyone money!!! It also saves me having to drive over an hour to Epsom to get it done. Duggs I know that the Spire clinic in Wexham also does it which is not too far from you if you need to go locally.
One of the ladies on babycentre was saying she was spending around £500 a month on the superov plan but mine is nowhere near that thanks to Asda etc!

Duggs how are you feeling today as I saw you were feeling peed off earlier this week. I am sure you will get there in the end as you have years of fertility ahead of you. Its so frustrating though when everyone else seems to be getting their BFPs and you are not. Personally though I would rather get a BFP that sticks rather than one that fails as it puts you back so far emotionally. I forgot how draining it is even though my last one was the chemical pregnancy.
Have you thought of trying acupuncture as I know you were not doing it? It might help??? I have got my 1st session on Saturday as thought I would give it a go.

Battery good news on your scan!
Good luck for the others having their scans this week.

Waves to everyone else x

igginezerscrooge · 11/01/2012 21:55

Pico I know once you're worried nothing makes it easier, did want to say that I find smears really painful but internal scans are not at all.

Have been reading my maternity notes, I see last time I went to hosp (with awful stomach pain) they have recorded "hearbeat heard by mum who was tearful during it" - which means what, exactly? I was relieved baby was alive? I am insane and will be unfit mother? They are making much of my anxiety, but honestly who could sail through your 6th pg with a carefree smile on face?
Sorry for rant.

snoopygirl · 12/01/2012 03:04

Oh help can't sleep again been awake since 12.30 now 2.45! After driving for 4 hrs today to Epsom, I now have to return something I purchased and have to drive to Loughborough tomorrow! (I bought a copy of an Arne Jacobsen Egg chair, looks fab but not comfy). It's needs to go back quick before son spins on it any more and marks it. He calls it his space chair! Couldn't really afford it anyway. sorry just yakking as got nowt else to do!

sue be watching you closely to see how you get on. And will be tracking down an Asda pharmacy.

Euro are you actually doing the Super Ov this month? I saw you were on 10dpo yesterday but have you been taking the Letrozole? Did you have your follicles scanned yet?

Good luck ladies on your scans -will be watching for news. x

duggs1976 · 12/01/2012 06:58

Hi ladies sue thanks for asking. I'm ok just have to get through to 23 jan. Good to hear news from fellow super ov recruits. Also top tips from sue. it makes me feel more patient. Obviously it isn't a dead cert as the world would be doing it. But more eggs at a time and timing help has to increase the odds. Wondering if PQ gets a bfp now as you fertile queen FQ! breezy r u lurking?

Hello everyone else. . . is scooter on hols?

Comedyworks · 12/01/2012 08:47

Morning all
Really sorry to read your news cornflakes.
Good to see positive scans.
Saw consultant on NHS on Tuesday and as they have classified me as high risk they are going to scan me every four weeks through to the end which is great. Got anomaly scan today so joining the little band of Thursday scanees. Fingers crossed for everyone x

Arianrhod · 12/01/2012 08:53

Morning all .. Just wanted to say good luck to everyone having a scan today, and choccy are you ok, not heard from you for a while? I know you have your follow-up appt with Mr S on Sat, but just wanted to check you're ok?

pico would also add to the general chorus, I've had loads of internal scans now and not one of them was painful, whereas I find smear tests really uncomfortable. They were definitely designed by a bloke!! Seriously though, internal scans are no pain or discomfort at all. Bit weird, seeing the sonographer casually fitting a condom!!, but that's it. It's worth it for the peace of mind.

Stogan · 12/01/2012 09:14

Good luck to all with scans today x I'm feeling crap and emotional so going for my nails done ! Smile

PQ77 · 12/01/2012 09:20

hi all. great scan news + good luck to the scannees today. pico can I just add yet another vote for the internal scan! so much better than a smear. Where I come from you can insert the probe yourself, very egalitarian my home country...but that might be something you could ask to do as it might help you relax and you would be in control for those first nervous moments.

iggi - maternity notes are a scream aren't they. Mine with DS said "anxious mother + + +" - I think the "+" was shorthand for "insane".

duggs - how was your appt with RR generally? You said your TEG was negative. Hope everything else was ok. Is your surgery going to be day surgery and a few days off work? And hmmm, might be heading for 8th BFP - I've had quite noticeable cramps the last couple of days - so either implantation or AF coming early, take your pick. Will test on Tuesday if I can wait that long and have pre-emptively booked in for intralipids on Thursday as it is such a mission for me to get to Epsom I need to plan ahead. The clinic were great and very understanding that I might ring up and cancel the day before.

how are you doing cornflakes? When I said the other day I was back at work soon after my ERPC I didn't mean that I should have been back at work! I hope you are taking some time out. DH and I had a little cry over the weekend over our mmc where we had seen a heartbeat (a year ago now) - I am thinking of you and your OH. and kittens thinking of you too. I called up yesterday about getting some bereavement counselling; it's a few months now since dad died and I think I have had enough of this keeping a brave face lark, so I am hoping you are not trying to keep up appearances too much.

free - just on the topic of random pregnancy fun - have you seen a linea negra? Do you know that's probably in store? That had somehow passed me by until I got one!

cherrycheeks · 12/01/2012 09:23

Morning ladies
Good luck with all the scans today
So sorry to read about your news cornflakes :(
About 150 dpo / trigger shot for me but BFN and no AF Confused

eurochick · 12/01/2012 10:25

Morning ladies. I was happy to read about the positive scans! And good luck to those with forthcoming scans.

Snoopy yes I am doing superov this month, but only the Letrozole not the trigger shot. That's only because at my scan on day 12 of my cycle just before Xmas there were no really dominant follicles so Mr S couldn't tell me when to take the trigger. Normally he would have rescanned a few days later but that would have been Xmas Day/Boxing Day so it just wasn't possible. Then I had a big stress on here because I thought I hadn't ovulated at all and had messed up my pretty regular cycles because of the Letrozole. Eventually I ov'd on day 20, much later than my usual day 14-16, and didn't notice for a few days because my temp rise was quite small to begin with and I had given up hoping to ov by that point, so I started the Pred late. So all in all, the first cycle of superov has been a bit of an odd one! I think it is about to end though (I'm in a foul mood today which is usually a sure sign that AF is coming) and I can move onto the next one, with more monitoring and the trigger shot this time.

sue I can see how you could get to £500 for the drugs and two scans (which is what I would have had last cycle, if Xmas hadn't got in the way).

pico I would agree with the others that a dildocam scan is a less unpleasant than a smear. For a start, most experienced scanners barely look at you (Mr S just tends to take a quick glance for a second under the sheet to make sure he is aiming right) whereas for a smear they are right up there, with lights! And there is no "cranking open" to get at your cervix, just a bit of painless moving from side to side to get a good view. And you should be able to see the screen during it, which I find fascinating!

cornflakes I hope you are ok, and looking after yourself.

ChoccyPud · 12/01/2012 11:06

Thanks for asking Ari. I'm lurking. Don't feel like I have much to say atm as still feel in limbo. I do feel much more myself tho which is progress! V drained tho which is combined effect of 5 mc's and a year of being pg/mc-ing/getting ready to try again. Loving not feeling steroided up tho wish the bloat would go back to summer levels.

I suspect I'll be back on it from March well about 7 weeks from now as ov'd Monday ish and if he puts me on hydroxy I will have to wait 6-8 weeks won't I?

Thinking that given that wait I might get another nkc level done just before ttc as if they're still v high (they were just after my mc in Dec) I don't see the point of walking into yet another one. I feel so drained but equally know I won't relax if we did decide to take a longer break as I'd still be thinking about when to start back on the rollercoaster so may as well just crack on. Plus being paranoid about avoiding getting pg is hardly an aphrodisiac!

Sorry for rant about me - esp having said I have nothing to say!!. I was gutted to see Cornflakes news and Sues. It's so so unfair. Take the time you need to work through it. I've been thinking about getting counselling to see if it can make me relax and feel more myself. Anyone got any experience?

Good luck today's scannees.

picolina123 · 12/01/2012 12:24

Im Crap!!
couldnt do the scan, kept thinking dildocam dildocam dildocam but it didnt help, i tensed up and they could not do the stupid scan!! so fustrating .

anyway on a brighter note the pain came back a bit but it also moved around and to the other side and a few other places so i feel better its not ectopic and physically and mentally today, cold and cough is getting better to and no shivers.

i have to go back to do blood test to make sure hormones are doubling, its also the first day this morning my pregnancy line on the preg test has been as dark as the test line so weather its true or nor im taking that to mean my hormones are doubling : )

Arianrhod · 12/01/2012 12:29

pico sorry you're going through this. Just a quick thought - are you on the steroids? Could your pains (shifting as you say they are) be wind? Without wishing to go into TMI I found the steroids gave me terrible wind, and that can be really painful! Just a thought :)

choccy good to see you :) I can't comment on the counselling, other than to say I know quite a few ladies find it really helpful. As for the hydroxy, although Louise told me they like you to be on it for 6-8 weeks I think free was only on it for a couple of weeks before she conceived, and look at the trail she's blazing :) I'm sure she'll comment herself when she's on, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I know what you mean about the non-aphrodisiac, I'm actually kind of looking forward to not worrying about whether I get pg or not - trying to take a bit more of a relaxed attitude about the whole thing once AF has gone too, but don't know how THAT is going to go knowing how much I worry! :) Take care of you, and just see what happens, I should.

cornflakes30 · 12/01/2012 12:56

Afternoon everyone. Thank you all so much for all your lovely comments it really helps talking to you all, and I'm am surprisingly positive which is great. I'm sure I will have bad days. Bring on June I say as we are all going to be pregnant in some way haaa can't remember who said that butit was a good one.

cornflakes30 · 12/01/2012 13:05

Pico just been reading all the comments to you re your scan, cheered me up the dildo cam, I have had lots of the internals and they are over so quickly. I don't know where your based but st helier do a belly scan at about 5.5 weeks which is great saves all the internals..and I'm sure the pains are just growing pains thinking of you xx
