Euro I have actually heard that pred can delay a period, though it didn't do so for me. Is there anything to stop you taking it for, say, 16 days to be sure?

For me, a combo of repeated one-line tests and some periody feelings were the signal to stop.

digitalgirl · 11/01/2012 12:51

cornflakes so so sorry to hear your news Sad. Rest up, take as much time off as you need. I took two weeks off after my erpc, even though physically I could have gone back after one. iggi and free are both shining examples of pregnancy after mc on the treatment.

Good luck to battery and coley today. Thinking of you both.

Just had my HR chat - they're going to fill in an SMP1 form for me and I submit it to HMRC to find out how much I'm entitled to. I can do the odd freelance day at a proper freelance rate whilst on Maternity Leave though, so that's good.

digi that sounds like good news.

iggi thanks. There is nothing to stop me taking it for a bit longer even if it delays my period, I suppose, save for my own desire to crack on with the next cycle at this point! I tend to get a shivery feeling as an indicator that my period is on its way and am getting the first waves of that.

Stogan · 11/01/2012 14:07

Hi all- just an update as I an having my Intralipids. Scan went really well! Measuring 8+1 and sting heartbeat of 158bpm:) I'm still in shock.

Mr S said the fact I've been feeling so sick on 40mg is a very good sign that baby is growing. I feel like I can breath easier now- next scan in 12 days.

Sorry for lack of personals but going to have a read through other posts now.

ColeyOz · 11/01/2012 14:39

I've just seen your post cornflakes and I'm so sorry to hear your news. Lap up as much pampering as you can and allow yourself to feel sad:( We are all here if you need to vent! Fingers crossed for next time.

cornflakes I am so sorry to hear your news :( I have had 2 ERPCs' and recovered physically very well. I ovulated 3 weeks after the first, and 7 weeks after the second (I was further on then). Please do try and take some comfort from people like digi iggi and free, who really are leading the way, ( I don't mean that to sound patronising or insensitive) I hope next time is the one for you xx
coley fab news - I know the feeling of shock!

I had my scan today too at St Mary's. All was good, a nice strong heart beat and measuring 8+3 which is bang on. It is so funny that I had the slow hcg to start, and then measured a bit behind at my last scan, but all seems ok for now :)

I have a scan booked at my local epau next week and then St Marys again the week after. I might cancel the epau one as I am not a fan of too many scans.

I hope everyone else is ok xxx

freelancegirl · 11/01/2012 16:35

Coley that is brilliant news!! So pleased for you. Hope you enjoyed your random few hours wired up to a drip. When are you seeing him again?

Euro on my protocol he says take the Pred for 14 days - doesn't say anything about testing on 10DPO. I did start testing then but was getting BFNs anyway. I started the Pred on what might have been 1/2 DPO (the day after twinges started) just so I could go on for 14 days and not stop and then get a BFP. So if you have only been on them for 8 days that is still really early.

Digi that's good news about work, great that you can freelance too!

It seems we have all found ERPCs easier to deal with than the natural route. My natural one at the start of the year was horrible - proper full on contractions and everything. Actually I've been feeling paranoid today as I have had some muscle aches in my thighs. Probably just the muscle aches from coming of the Pred but I always worry they are going to go into contractions again. Although thinking about it, the pain started in the uterus area before it spread down my legs and back.

Sorry, this is a bit of a TMI conversation but I might need your thoughts on it. Another thing that has made me worry today is slightly wet pants - ie watery cm. I have been thinking up until now that one thing that has been different for this pregnancy is that I haven't had any (just white cm - probably the Cyclogest too). The last two pregnancies I did have more watery stuff and in retrospect I have kind of related that to a sign of problems. So having a bit of wetness today freaked me out. I googled it and it seems normal but half of me worries it is is amniotic fluid and a sign things have gone tits up.

Oh well, only a few more hours to wait for the next scan. Of course the next worry is, if it is still alive, what might the nuchal reveal. Oh to be a happy, optimistic pregnant person!

Stogan · 11/01/2012 16:47

YEY great news battery !! Grin

Free I'm with u on the leaking, last 3 nights I've been convinced my waters are breaking, I've been having coughing fits and when I cough I'm leaking water !! Time for the tena lady Grin !! X

snoopygirl · 11/01/2012 16:54

Coley Great news on your scan. I was sitting in reception at around 2pm - there was a lady and OH looking very pleased and excited before me - was that you?

Got the pescription for the Letrozole and Ovitrelle to start next month if no BFP this week so that's good.

On the taking Pred for 14 days issue - he said again to me today (and I think we have had this conversation before) to test 10dpo and if no BFP then stop the pred but this doesn't make sense if in frees case she got her BFP on day 14?? Surely you would want to keep taking just in case, unless you are having terrible side effects?? That's what I have been doing.

freelancegirl · 11/01/2012 16:57

Battery that's great news! Sorry - crossed posts before. Yes it is amazing how this pregnancy started off for you. It just goes to show that sometimes we can know too much too early with all our modern technology as everything was clearly spot on at that early stage too. Great news!! We will need to do a good list update with new scan dates on there soon.

And Stogan thanks for that too. Did you have it earlier on too?

My GP clearly thought it was unconventional me asking to go to a hospital outside our area but she says she will put the referral through and ask. Of course she says my local hospital has to agree to fund it but I did point out there would be no additional treatment once I have stopped seeing him privately. I have cancelled my booking in appointment at my local hospital and also my nuchal there. No point, when I am having it tomorrow privately.

ColeyOz · 11/01/2012 17:02

Thanks everyone and fantastic news Battery!! You had a slow one to start but now is nice and strong:)

Snoopy- it wasn't me as my OH couldn't make it today. I headed into a r

batteryhen · 11/01/2012 17:02

Thanks for the thanks :)

free I could have written that last bit of your post. On the way back from my scan I really noticed feeling very wet with lots of pains too. I was convinced I was bleeding actually - but all ok still. The nurse said inthe epau that increased cm is entirely normal. If you are concerned - you can get a little swab to rule out any infection?

ColeyOz · 11/01/2012 17:05

Thanks everyone and fantastic news Battery!! You had a slow one to start but now is nice and strong:)

Snoopy- it wasn't me as my OH couldn't make it today. I headed into a room next to waiting area around 2 for my Intralipids. I had a red cardigan on. Hope your appointment went well today.

Free- pregnancy often causes increased discharge so it's probably nothing to worry about. Good luck for tom:)

ColeyOz · 11/01/2012 17:06

Sorry about double messages- on my phone!

Cheerfulcharlie · 11/01/2012 17:15

Oooh battery and Coley fantastic! Well done. Great to get to the 8 week stage ok.

Cornflakes- so sorry to hear your news. Are you going to continue the treatment for the future?

Free - big day tomorrow for us. I think like me you also once had a bad experience at the 12 week scan, so I think it's going to be a particularly nerve wracking one. It's great you had a good scan just a couple of days ago so that must give you some concrete reassurance. I had a sneaky go of my Doppler today ( have avoided using it so far as scared of it doing harm) and found the baby's heartbeat straight away a few times. Definitely wasn't mine As I felt my pulse at the same time and it was much much faster. Suddenly I feel a lot more hopeful for tomorrow. Maybe I will get a bit of sleep tonight.

freelancegirl · 11/01/2012 17:25

OOhh cheerful that's so good to find the heartbeat on your own at home. I want a Dopplar! I will see how tomorrow goes and if it is all well I might invest in one. There are so many things that I've been holding off until tomorrow - clothes for instance. I've been wearing the same two outfits for weeks now!

Agh, here we are all mentalling in tandem with our scans. I might not find anything out until later as I have heard there can be quite a wait at the FMC.

It is strange about the testing Snoopy. But yes, I think taking it for a max of 14 days is fine as after that your body might be a bit more used to it and you might have to taper off. Again this is all my own random thoughts and research but just checked my protocol sheet again and it says take the 25mg for a maximum of two weeks. Says nothing about testing at 10 days. And at 10 days I was definitely getting BFN.

Stogan · 11/01/2012 17:34

Yeah free I've had light discharge all the way thru really, nothing horrible just more than u would expect but now it's just like water, sorry TMI ladies. My consultant did say there was more fluid round baby than he would like to see hence me having this extra scan on Friday, DH has got me packing my hospital bag tomorrow night incase they take me in on Friday, bless ! X

eurochick · 11/01/2012 17:38

That's helpful, thanks ladies. Mine definitely says to take for 10 days but as I am not even at that yet, I will carry on until I start bleeding. I guess it is good to get as much of the pred into my system as possible each cycle. I just didn't want to delay my period and mess up my cycles even more than the super ov drugs already have!

digitalgirl · 11/01/2012 17:43

Fantastic news battery! Very pleased the baby seems to have caught up.

free increased cm is one of the many joys of pregnancy - sometimes I get little wet patches on my trousers. Nice. Other joys include: piles, itchy nipples, oh nipple cheese, more hair (especially on the belly), swollen ankles, swollen everything, you already know about stretchmarks....

cheerful lovely that you found the hb on the doppler so early on. I'm missing hearing my baby's hb - another two weeks to go for me.

Good luck to both of you tomorrow with nuchals. Can't believe this has come around already...even though it probably feels like it's been an age for you.

digitalgirl · 11/01/2012 17:44

eek Stogan on packing your hospital bag already!!!!

btw well done snoopy on getting your superov prescription. Now where's that sodding BFP to make it all redundant?

igginezerscrooge · 11/01/2012 18:03

So pleased to see the happy scan news x 2!
Free you need to look back at some of me doppler-induced panic stories I think.. It seems to work now every time but so hit or miss when I was 12 weeks. Saw midwife today who is very understanding about how anxious I am - don't want to come over as freakishly pessimistic to her, but don't want to pretend either! Just wish I had a crystal ball.
