Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Munx · 01/01/2012 19:16

Am getting the application form off to Dragon's Den as I type........

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 19:34

I don't often visit Classics, but if you've not seen it, I highly recommend this thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/263007-funniest-bit-of-childbirth

I also remember when during my section, they held up my daughter and I said 'oh, I was expecting a kitten'

:o

Munx · 01/01/2012 19:48

Could do with a good laugh popcorn!!

Just had an insurance shag damn near killed me.

Sorry sorry far TMI! Blush

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 19:54

lmao! Poor Munx, it'll be worth it though! :o

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 20:35

just started spotting, so AF will be arriving in the morning. Disappointed but also relieved - was a bit "what the eff now?" after last month! Still, can't poke a 15 day luteal phase with a stick :)

Munx · 01/01/2012 20:41

Aw popcorn so sorry, but as you say gotta look for the positives!

Next month my lovely, next month. October babies are all the rage don't you know!

GreenOlives · 01/01/2012 20:47

Evening, happy new year to everyone! Have had a hellish day at work then came home to find that DH is now poorly too - talk about busman's holiday! In answer to your question Pop the whole NK cell theory is quite new and controversial so there are only a handful of places that treat it so I think if I needed treatment it would have to be at the clinic that does the test. There is a possibility that I could be referred to this specialist (Mr Shetata) on the NHS but I think it would be a lengthy wait. I'll wait and see what my consultant says and take it from there (he is a lovely, lovely man and very thorough - I engineered it so that I could see him as he is the nicest gynae consultant at my local hospital!) Am really hoping that ovulation was a little later than you thought and a BFP is still imminent for you, I've got everything crossed!

Generic, so sorry that you've had such a crap start to the New Year, I hope everything goes smoothly on Tuesday and that your sticky BFP is just around the corner!

Munx good work with the insurance shag! That's the brooking attitude Grin These brooking babies will be created out of sheer determination and dedication to the cause!

Where is bean? Enjoying the festivities I hope?

Stasi · 01/01/2012 21:06

Happy New Year Brookers. I hope everyone enjoyed their various celebrations. DH and I went out to a friends house for drinks. It was good fun, though I was the designated driver, so spent the whole evening t-total. A good way to start the year I think. DH drank quite a lot, but there was a very nice bottle of whiskey on offer which he just couldn't refuse.

I'm in the 2ww, but don't know how far. I'm not really expecting a miracle BFP this cycle, but maybe that's the perfect time to get one.

DH and I are going to get fit and healthy. He doesn't know all the details yet though :) I'm going to swim regularly, and look at taking some classes at the local gym. Thinking of doing Zumba... Biggest change is going to be trying to eat 'proper' food for every meal, and practice portion control. I'm not going to go in for any of the low fat 'diet' stuff, just being sensible. However, this is not a resolution, as everyone knows they can't be kept. This is a firm intention!

Popcorn So sorry AF appears to be making an appearance. A 15 day LP is excellent though? I'm not sure if I'm lucky or unlucky that I never really have a late AF so don't have the stress of wondering. I think it maybe makes ttc a bit less stressful and draining for me, as I rarely get false hope.

Generic Really hope Tuesday goes as well as it can. So sorry to hear your news. You'll get a sticky bean soon!

Loooopy No idea about your chart, sorry. Mine are always easy to read, so I've no experience trying to figure out complicated ones. Hopefully FF (or you) will work out what's going on soon.

Munx of course you won't need that referal/testing for the RMC. 2012 WILL be your year, I can feel it :)

Olives sorry to hear about your chemical pg. You're right though, you've proved you can fertilise an egg, even after the eptopic. I've never got that far, so don't know how it feels, but I think I'd like to have that reassurance, even with the inevitable heartache that would come with it. You too will get your BFP in 2012. We all will. Fact.

Biscuits sorry you're not well, hopefully your cold will pass soon. I've had a bit of a cold since before Christmas, but it's not really materialised properly - just sneezing and runny nose, no 'ill' feelings. Still, I'm totally fed up of blowing my nose. We should both sit back with a nice warm cup of something and get taken care of for just a little while.

Sorry for epic post!

PopcornMouse · 02/01/2012 08:49

CD1 here, as predicted! But who wants a September baby anyway? Pah! S/he's be bottom at school, I'd have to put up with all those tasteless Christmas accident quips, not to mention the abundance of September babies already in our family... no, no, October is the way to go :)

GreenOlives · 02/01/2012 09:19

Boo for AF but loving the positive attitude Popcorn, all the best people are born in October Wink

PopcornMouse · 02/01/2012 09:42

:o

I was woken up at 1.30am by next door's teen playing loud music (said teen has a penchent for James Morrison, Damien O and Leona Lewis Hmm ). I now - at a respectable 9.40am - have the Black Keys at full volume. AIB evil U? :o

PopcornMouse · 02/01/2012 09:45

*Damien Rice O

PopcornMouse · 02/01/2012 09:48

I blame PMS

PopcornMouse · 02/01/2012 09:58

Gosh look at that carpet, maybe I should hoover.........

Imps7 · 02/01/2012 10:04

YADNBU. Bloody child - 1:30am is not a reasonable time to play music full stop, let alone Leona Lewis (Hmm). Sorry about the dastardly witch getting you Pops but congratulations on the first day of your pregnancy! You are one cycle closer to meeting your baby!

. Thinking of you tomorrow, lovely. I'm so glad that you've decided to smack the rat again - your consultant speaks a lot of sense. With The Brooking Co. Ltd's backing, you'll have a successful pregnancy before you know it, along with the rest of us.

Stasi, I am brooking like there's no tomorrow for your ironic BFP. Well done for being Des - I know you're not a big drinker anyway, but it's still nice to have a couple on NYE so I think your DH owes you at least 5 presents a favour! I also had my driest NYE yet - not completely teetotal but not much to drink at all. I have cut down on alcohol massively and I really don't miss it, it has to be said.

Green, so pleased to see that you're feeling chipper. I know it sounds a bit trite for people to say "well at least you know that you can get pregnant" but TBH it is positive to know that there is no bar whatsoever on little spermy meeting your eggs. The next one will be sticky and I am brooking no argument on that point.

Good worth on the insurance shag Munx - that'll be the one wot does it!

6 DPO here - nothing remotely exciting to report preggo-wise - have sore nips but that is entirely standard. We do have our builder here at the moment however and in about a week's time we shall be the proud owners of new hallway flooring and - even more excitingly - a shiny new utility room! With underfloor heating to assist with the drying of clothes and everything!!!

Catch you all later!

Loooopy · 02/01/2012 10:07

popcorn i cannot believe you have let every single carpet in your house get so dirty, it will take you at least all morning to hoover them!! and you really will need some background music to keep you motivated whilst cleaning on a bank holiday, but you might need to turn the volume up so you can still hear it whilst hoovering Xmas Grin

and you were right re FF, it has decided today based on temps that i ovulated on CD33, i think it is wrong as CM was fantastic earlier in month, and not had any for a while, but if by any chance it is right, then conveniently we had SFF the morning of CD33 after something of a drought over the xmas period where we were trekking round the country staying with our parents where no SWI or SFF can ever take place!!

Still not a clue when AF might turn up or when might be a sensible time to test however i have lots of internet cheapies so have secretly used a few over the last week

Imps7 · 02/01/2012 10:16

Pops - I'm sure that there must be something needs hammering or drilling into your wall - a few nice pictures to put up or something? You must have got some for Christmas... Grin

Imps7 · 02/01/2012 10:16

Oh, Loooopy re: your chart - the EWCM would seem to indicate ovulation much earlier than CD33 Confused - do you chart orally or fanjoly?

Loooopy · 02/01/2012 10:42

Imps i chart orally, but i am a terrible sleeper so the time i temp varies a lot which i don't think helps at all....but DS wakes circa 6-6.30am, so today being a typical day, i woke at 4.53, so temped then, as i know there is no way i will get another 3 hours + sleep....drifted back to sleep, he woke up at 6.40 and in crying out woke us, then he went back to sleep until 7.

I've now ordered a more sensitive thermometer too, in case that helps at all.

I really don't think i've ovulated this late, but getting to the stage of not having a clue what my body is doing. Clinging to the hope i might get a BFP as took ages for HCG to give me a BFP with DS, but if not a BFP by this Friday then that logic goes out the window too. (based on getting BFP with DS 23 days after sex, as would rule out ovulation circa CD17....unless FF is right re CD33 but not convinced....would love to see what is going on inside my body right now....

BeedleTheBard · 02/01/2012 11:29

Grrr to loopy for reminding me its a bank holiday in England - its not here. But I shall be happy gloating when I'm off on Thurs afternoon and Friday all day Grin

Double grrr to AF pop and to your neighbour - I like the idea doing some DIY, perhaps followed by lots of running up and down the stairs. I think you need to tell us which rooms are nearest to said noisy neighbour so we can think of helpful things you can do today.

Good luck generic for tomorrow

not sure where I am in my cycle as I haven't been temping this month, but I've probably laid an egg by now going by my normal cycle. Not taht it matters as we've only had sex on day 1 and day 6 ("D"P has been drunk/hungover for a few days as he's been off work - I think he thinks he's still a 20 yr old student not a nearly 40 yr old man - though if he was still 20 he'd probably manage sex with a hangover Shock -oh well the new years resolution to cut down starts today :) )

Anyway back to work Sad

Munx · 02/01/2012 11:32

Oh Looooopy it's so hard isn't it? I hope that you get an answer either way soon.

I don't temp for the same reason, my DD loves to get up for a little chat about 3 am and I then sleep badly until my alarm. I may try it next cycle, I have a thermometer and chart tha I got from amazon which is still in its box.

My cycles are quite upredicatable too, which is why I use the OPKs. They never worked for me before I had DD but for some reason now they do?! Do you use them at all? You can buy 50 for about £7 from amazon. The SME fertility ones are pretty reliable except the second line doesn't always go dark, my positives are about a 0.5mm strip of purple at the edge of the test line.

popcorn congrats on day one of your as yet unconfirmed pg, and I think that bit of carpet right next to tour neighbours bedroom needs a damn good hoovering again........ With some Fugazi playing.

imps I am most jealous of utility room! And I hope this cycle is the lucky one.

Stasi I too am brooking for your ironic BFP and might I add that I think your posts are always lovely, considerate and include a positive thought for everybody. You fully deserve that beautiful baby who is coming SOON.

green, generic hope you guys are doing ok.

I have doubtlessly missed folk out, am quite ill today. Going to do an OPK later on today just to double check it's negative. I really can't face an more SWI right now..... But it's all for a good cause!

Hope you have a good day everybody, there are lots of exciting scans going on for the antenatal PPSEPPs (hope I got that right) that will be us soon!

Munx · 02/01/2012 11:33

Hope work is bearable......

whimsicalname · 02/01/2012 14:56

Happy new year everyone

Good luck tomorrow generic

And good luck for lots of lovely Autumn babies to everyone.

Health kick sounds good Stasi. I saw an advert for a 6 week 'boot camp' that I might sign up to. Starts tomorrow though, which seems a bit harsh.

Munx · 02/01/2012 15:42

Help please brookers..... Am confused.

After yesterday's seemingly negative OPK today's would appear positive? So that's a positive, negative then a positive.

After SWI yesterday surely I don't have to muster it up again do I? Any advice?

GreenOlives · 02/01/2012 16:18

Hmmm Munx, I'm not sure Confused I would say you'd best try for insurance shag number 2 just to be on the safe side! You can do it, just lie back and think of Gary Barlow England! Wink Grin

Pop, you are clearly not a woman to be messed with today, hope the house is hoovered to within an inch of its life Grin

Boo for working today Beedle! I was really looking forward to a family day out after working all day yesterday but with DH poorly it was just me and DS that went to the park to get covered from head to toe in mud play. Hope work has not been too busy.

Loooopy I have no idea about the whole temping/charting thing so I can be no help whatsoever - sorry! Keep on with the internet cheapies, it's only a matter of time before you find an agreeable one I'm sure Smile

Ooh Imps, new flooring and new utility room sounds fab, I would luurve underfloor heating, my kitchen & utility floors are slate tiled and therefore freezing cold!

Where are you bean?
