Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

OP posts:

Good luck Tuesday, Generic. I'm glad you had a decent consultant and he's put your mind at rest about your age concerns. 2012 will be The Year of The Brooker, and I brook no argument! :o

BFN yesterday, Generic, but I can't help but dream!!!

Munx · 31/12/2011 16:03

If I have one more then I am going to be fast tracked to the RMC biscuits

But that will ot be the case! This is our year!

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 09:25

Another BFN, AF is just late :(

Loooopy · 01/01/2012 09:47

Happy New Year everyone!!

hopefully a BFP will be with you soon popcorn? with my DS i got a BFN 17 days after sex, but a BFP 23 days after sex. (although don't know how long after sex ovulation actually happened as didn't chart back then!) Some women take longer for hormones to build up, or so i read.

Good to see you are back brooking with us generic. was so sorry to hear your news, but good that it hasn't stopped you from trying for a 2012 baby with us. Will keep everything crossed that you get a sticky bean very soon x

Right. Need opinions from fellow charters please.

FF still doesn't think i ovulated this month, although it did initially think i ovulated on CD17. Today is C35! Still no AF. BFN on internet cheapie (20 thingy sensitivity). Now can someone please tell me if i am wrong or not. I thought that the reason temperatures rise in the luteal phase is because of the progesterone, which is caused by the egg/corpus whatsit being released, ie the temperature rises because you ovulated?

Well my temperatures may have been a bit erratic this month (first month of charting and didn't actually take first temp until CD9) but they have definitely risen, in the last 6 days, i had 3 at 36.5, then next day 36.4, then yesterday and today 36.7. Am i right in thinking that as my temps have been rising, i must have progesterone in my body and therefore must have ovulated?

(and in which case, if FF had initially been right in thinking i ovulated on CD 17, then based on how long it took for me to get BFP with DS, i wouldn't get a BFP until sometime between now and next Friday)

trying not to get my hopes up but it's impossible lol!!!

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 09:55

I hope so Loopy I'm feeling fairly gutted, I must say. I spent all last night having pregnant dreams and this morning's BFN feels a bit cruel tbh. I'm just glad DH is at work so he can't see me blubbing over my leftover takeaway pizza :(

Can you link your chart? You can have the odd high temp for a lot of reasons, including alcohol or an extra blanket, the key is a sustained rise, I think. Also, FF takes 3 days of higher temps to give you a crosshair, so you could have ovulated and it just hasn't added it in yet, if that makes sense?

Loooopy · 01/01/2012 10:02

i have no idea how to link my chart?

Definitely no extra blankets, not ill, and barely drink as still BF DS at bedtime (and last night didn't touch a drop and today temp is the same as yesterday morning, but i did have a drink the night before last night, so don't think one drink affects my temps?)

When do you think you ovulated popcorn?

Loooopy · 01/01/2012 10:08

aha.....amazing what you can quickly learn whilst DS is asleep

here we are

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 10:12

When you're looking at your chart, go to "share" at the top right, then "set up" and you can create a public copy of your chart and get the link :)

I didn't temp this month, but the 17th (CD18) would be usual, and that fits in with my EWCM - so I'm 15dpo today I think. I usually only have a 13 day luteal phase. (Last month I had a monster cycle as I didn't ovulate til CD28, but I'm positive that hasn't happened this month as I had pretty textbook EWCM at the right time.)

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 10:16

Gosh. You had good CM early in the cycle, but your temps don't indicate ovulation so it might have been delayed (like mine last cycle :) ). You might find if you have another high temp tomorrow it puts you down as ovulating CD33? If not, I'd just keep at it Blush

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 16:33

Stiiiiiiil nothing Hmm

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 16:49

I POAS this morning biccies, used a fiver FR and everything Confused :(

Biscuitsandtea · 01/01/2012 17:39

Oh yes, so you did - sorry I'd forgotten Blush.

Hmm..... Confused

Munx · 01/01/2012 17:46

Oh popcorn I do hope you get an answer either way very soon!

How are you doing biscuits just reading back and saw that the question regarding the RMC was aimed at generic so rude of me, sorry Blush I misread.

We are all ill here, I hope all the brookers had a good evening and are fighting fit for the new year!

Biscuitsandtea · 01/01/2012 18:08

Oh Munx not rude at all! And I agree - you won't need that referral because the next one is going to e a super mega sticky bean - fo shizzle Wink

Generally all well here, although I've been ill with a stupid cold for ages too Munx - DS seems to have just about shaken it off now but i am Fed Up of blowing my nose!! Hope the Munx household is all better soon xx

GenericDietCola · 01/01/2012 18:19

Oh Popcorn so sorry you are still getting BFNs and no AF, must be very frustrating. Do you have any interesting symptoms? Maybe you ov'd a couple of days late and you will get your BFP in a day or two.

Loopy I don't know about charting, sorry, but like Popcorn says you could just be late in ovulating this month.

Biscuits I won't be eligible for testing because I've only had 2 mcs since DD (one before), so hopefully the next one will work out well, but if not, at least I can have tests.

Happy New Year all and may 2012 bring us our babies!

Munx · 01/01/2012 18:25

Well slightly exciting news here, had a positive OPK yesterday, had SWI the night before anyway but persuaded DH to again yesterday.

OPK negative today, just as well as far too ill to SWI tonight.

So have thrown all I can at it this month........

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 18:30

I think I've had the same cold, Biscuits - it's been about ten days now! Hope you perk up soon :)

I've had the lot, Generic! Mid-morning and afternoon nausea since 5dpo, sore boobs (but I always get that), cramps, fatigue... but I've been ill and hungover over the festive period so it's likely more that than pregnancy, even if I was pg, iykwim! Just frustrating is all Confused I'm kicking myself for not temping this month, now, though my CM all points to normal ovulation on CD18.

I have a single internet cheapy left, which I'm not convinced are as sensitive as the FR I used this morning, so if I can bear to I'll wait to test again til Tuesday if AF hasn't arrived.

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 18:30

Oooo Munx, welcome to hell the 2ww :o

Munx · 01/01/2012 18:33

I know, I hate this bit! There is nothing you can do.....

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 18:48

Sadly not. I do wish I was able to just ignore it, though!

Munx · 01/01/2012 18:53

They should invent a test which allows you to know if the egg has been fertilised at least!

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 18:55

That's a great idea, I reckon you could make squillions millions! I'd like a test that can see through time and tell me what cycle I'll get upduffed on :o

Munx · 01/01/2012 19:02

We should go into business..... Would keep our minds off the 2ww anyway Grin

PopcornMouse · 01/01/2012 19:13
