Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

OP posts:

Yes - teacher approves Smegs. Every other day sounds good. Me and DP have just agreed to go for it in Feb.

Have been necking boiled water with fresh ginger and lemon. I'm quite stoic when it comes to illness so am sure will feel fine tomorrow. Have high pain tolerance too, maybe why I felt so sure of homebirth option. It's just that I feel these kinds of malaises are a real obstacle when TTC. Difficult really when you live with a toddler. As you know.

Hi shiny - your AF due at roughly the same time as mine. Try not to test too much - it can be demoralising, though totally get why you are, of course.

ScrambledSmegs · 17/01/2012 14:51

PS Every other day since CD8. Now on CD17. Getting AF on New Year's Day has proved surprisingly helpful in judging where I am, cycle-wise.

Anyone else on the B6 noticed that they're that little bit more zen? DH is annoyed, I've been so incredibly calm and logical during arguments discussions that the poor man can't win. I am right though. That always helps.

PopcornMouse · 17/01/2012 14:53

Whoops sorry whims think of it as a premonition :o

smegs I got mine from amazon and it was £60, plus a box of 20 pee sticks for £20 ? you need a box of 20 for the first month but only 10 thereafter, I think ? so no more than I'd have spent on CB OPKs each month. I put off buying one for ages as I thought it'd be an expensive waste frivolity, since I temp, but it's proven its worth this month imho and it's bloody good fun :)
Amazon do a free trial of their "prime" service so I got it delivered free by Next Day delivery, so I just ordered it the day after AF came - you need to start using by CD5 at the latest.

Are you having any follow up smegs ? I think it's normal for women to have a cycle or two a year where they don't ovulate though it's blimmin irritating - maybe they just caught you on an off month?

I know you're right, bean especially as I work from home and can get away with trackies!

PopcornMouse · 17/01/2012 14:56

Hi shiny welcome back!!

Hope you feel better soon bean :(

ScrambledSmegs · 17/01/2012 15:02

Thanks Pop. It sounds interesting! We're a bit broke right now so I think we'll have to hold off for a couple of months, but if we're still ttc then I might have to order one.

I've not been checked out by docs for ovulating yet. This was the result of my blood test, when I had high T4's. The doctor basically told me that I probably wasn't ovulating with those results. I think he's wrong, as does FF. Pretty sure that the virus I had sent my thyroid results haywire anyway.

PopcornMouse · 17/01/2012 15:15

Oh I seee . You'll have a follow-up blood test though?

Has anyone seen the thread on soy? What do you think? Hmm Confused

PopcornMouse · 17/01/2012 15:18

(I am of the, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, camp. And couldn't take them anyway as I have managed but moderately severe hypothyroidism)

ScrambledSmegs · 17/01/2012 15:22

Isn't that the stuff you take to help with menopause symptoms? Hmm. I think it's one of those things that you really need to discuss with your doctor. The fact that people get very strong side effects with it and it acts like Clomid makes me nervous.

GreenOlives · 17/01/2012 16:00

Hello all,

Thanks for the morning coffee Whims Smile

Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly Maybe and Bean, I'm in your gang too, I've woken up this morning with a stinking cold! It sucks!

Smegs I think I may be slightly more zen like too on the B6 - it's a distinct advantage at home and at work. Of course I am also always right Wink Grin

Hi Shiny, nice to meet you! A few more days and you will find an agreeable pee stick I'm sure!

Glad you fitted in a SWI Pops to catch that sneaky early ovulation, thank god for the gadget or you may have missed your chance! I'm off to have a look at the soy fred!

Where's Imps?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/01/2012 16:15

Shiny good to have you back! That pee stick was just a miserable one. You'll find one to agree soon enough.

Olives and Bean you poor things. Maybe we are all preggers, and it's contagious? Grin

Pop I know nothing about soy other than I like it on a stir fry Wink

Smegs you are so ovulating. Don't you just love proving people wrong? Grin

Whims how are you?

And Imps, where are you?

ScrambledSmegs · 17/01/2012 17:12

Nice subject avoidance, Maybe - now when are you going to POAS?! Grin

farfallarocks · 17/01/2012 18:16

Stinking colds-immunosuppression= pregnancy

as you were

p.s. 2nd fanjoly scan went well, follicle is growing but she thinks it has a couple of days yet. Will get SWI regardless. I would love for this follicle to turn into a baby just so I can embarass it and say 'I saw you as a follicle on a screen via foof scan'

Sonographer was very relaxed about using preseed, I am not the first apparently............

beangrower · 17/01/2012 18:35

Ha Far!

Wouldn't it be amazing if we all got our BFPs in one massive new year hit. Fertility fest - bring it on. X

Imps7 · 17/01/2012 18:44

Hello! Just cartwheeling in to say "hello"! Just got back from work and am out to meet a chum now. Will catch up on the news tonight.

L8rs y'all (god I'm so cool)

BeedleTheBard · 17/01/2012 19:46

Evening all

Welcome back shiny

bean hope you feel better soon.

far congratulations for having a lovely follicle, and love the idea of embarrassing your child in the future Grin

I also read the soy thread, don'tthink that's anything I'm going to try just yet!

We've decided we are going to refer ourselves for tests if we don't succeed with this cycle, or rather I've decided and DP has agreed, though he thinks we should wait until May Shock Admittedly we'll only having been trying for a year at the beginning of April, but with my short cycles we've already had more than 12 attempts, I think this is cycle 14. And i have no idea how long it will take before we get seen.

beangrower · 17/01/2012 19:51

Beedle go for it. Tell doc a porky if needs be. I really hope you get some answers. BFP coming your way.

You've done your time.

Ttfn Brookers.

X

shinyblackgrape · 17/01/2012 20:03

Hi all - just going to catch up on your many adventures on the thread. Lively to be back and see you all and the new faces (to me).

Riiiiiiiiiggghhht - you'll be wishing you hadn't asked about symptoms........... I have in no order of importance
Sore back, sore throat, horrid cramps, increased sense of smell (I think), feel queasy, can't stop crying.

However, this could all be explained by onset of pmt and a cold - damn! I also do not have the holy grail of pregnancy (per Dr Google) -sore boobs.

Plus I am 10 or 11dpo and various bfns. I really need to stop testing and chill the fuck out

shinyblackgrape · 17/01/2012 20:07

Far - I can add stress incontinence to symptoms but that is only after reading about you spotting your future child on the foof cam. You will deffo be preggers after that!

Stasi · 17/01/2012 20:56

Hi all, just a quick phone post from me. I spent today trying to get work done, but have been very tired and had an awful headache. Got woke up at 3:30am by the cat and feel like I never got back to sleep again after. I have read everything that's been said since my last post, but I can't remember anything :(

I think I will have myself a very, very early night tonight and catch up better tomorrow.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/01/2012 21:41

Oh Stasi hope you feel restored tomorrow.

All looking very promising Shiny Smile

Far loving how you've seen your insides! Whoop for the follicle.

Beedle glad you have come to a decision. Though by the time you get to the docs, you will, of course, already be pregnant Grin

Imps you are too cool for school. Fact.

Smegs I POAS and it was a BFN. But this is going down as a near miss I feel. But this cycles is going to be ours. All of ours

Imps7 · 17/01/2012 22:27

Nothing on earth would make me happier than every rat smacketer getting a BFP within, oooh, 4 days of each other. That would be awesome.

Hmmm, Maybe sorry to hear about your funny turn. Any clues what that could be?? How was your AF and AF "of sorts"?? When did you last PIAR??

Shiny hello again!! Glad to see you back hear. With those symptoms, you definitely got it goin' on, baby girl

Far good work on brewing up such a lovely sounding follicle! It takes rare talents and skill to be able to do that - well done you! Hope you've managed to get some SWI in - it's just a matter of days before your BFP, mama!

Pop how interesting re: early ov!! Any idea how you may have helped the eggy along a little quicker? Have you been taking B6?? I would love my cycles to be longer - 33 days is just faaaar too long, when you're impatient like me.

Munx are you still about?? I am so intrigued to find out more about your BFP - was your AF not actually AF, do you think? Surely all those positive OPKs must have been BFPs?? Which pee stick did you use when you first tested and got a BFN? Just so that I can add it to the list of ones not to get! Hope all's going very well - I'm so excited for you and brooking NO argument that all is well with your teeny tiny bean (Munklet?)

Bean hope you're feeling better today - you deserve to put your feet up.

Nothing remotely exciting to report here - CD8 so another 10 or so days until the egg pops. OH and I are on holiday from Thursday until Sunday 29 Jan so I doubt I'll be logging on much between then and then - when I get back I expect to see all of you with BFPs - that's right all of you, even those of you who haven't ov'd yet.

Imps7 · 17/01/2012 22:28

Oh, good god...I would like my cycles to be shorter, not longer, obviously. And typo in the second paragraph...and probably every paragraph. Attention to detail not my strong point!

BeedleTheBard · 18/01/2012 06:38

Mmmm I love hotel breakfasts, just wish they did proper sausages not silly little hot dog sausages, actually I wish I could just buy proper sausages here.

stasi hope you're feeling refreshed this morning, but you know headache = preggo Grin

imps are you going somewhere hot and Sunny? Will we all be jealous when you come back looking tanned, whilst we're all pasty, winter white.

farfallarocks · 18/01/2012 08:24

Have a fabbo holiday imps sounds like some nicely timed SWI for you!!

Hello Shiny!!!!!! Welcome back, you sounds well preggers to me :)

Not a good day in the Farfall household.
Tried to initiaate SWI last night and he said later. Then later he said, I am not in the mood, its all too stressful having to 'perform like a monkey'.

this is not the first time we have had a sex fail (or a fail at even an attempt!) and its really beginning to piss me off.

So I was really upset. He slept in the spare room. We tried to make up this morning but on the way to the tube he said he is finding it all way too stressful and trying is doing his head in and he feels under pressure and like he can't perform. I just get so distressed about it as I think supposing this was the magic bean that would stick and we missed the chance? Tonight is realistically the last night we can catch the egg and I don;t know how to play it. I feel like screaming in frustration or even just doing something really stupid like going out and getting laid by anyone (not really). He even said this morning he thought we should not try anymore or why did I not just use a sperm donor which he then retracted but still. I don;t want to push him away but I so very desperately want a baby and a family.

Had a peak on my monitor this morning CD12 so its probably too late anyway or at least tonight is realistically the last night and it probably won;t happen. God this is so hard.

Just got a text from him saying 'missing you, sorry'

whimsicalname · 18/01/2012 09:05

oh far how difficult for you. I know it's hard, but try not to get stressed yourself. I'm fairly sure if there's one magic bean there's plenty more lurking in the background.

Perhaps you could provide oysters and asparagus for supper. And whatever else is meant to have an aphrodisiac effect on the fellas.

He's obviously feeling contrite this morning, so perhaps you can have some lovely making up SWI later.

Thanks for the banana bread, I was considering a colleague's banana (fnar fnar), but cake based is definitely preferable.

have a good day.
