Blimey faith, so glad you're ok though, bugger the kitchen! Do you have a cat or dog who raised the alarm?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 04/12/2011 08:59

Yes we're ok just shell shocked. No, the fire alarms did their jobs. Go and check yours, now please.

Big hugs bugsy. On that note, try not to pressure yourself in to getting diffed this cycle. There's a lot out there on interwebs about elevated hormone levels and 'I got diffed straight after', and if you don't it can make you feel very sorry for yourself. :(

faith that's terrifying. :( I must admit we didn't get alarms until we had the baby and I just bought a new one last week. I loves my alarms.

OMG faithy how scary! You have prompted me to replace one of ours that isn't working. Thank goodness you are both ok.

I agree with pone also try not to do too much of Dr Google. Definitely don't worry about getting diffed in the first month. It's shit enough when you get your next period emotionally to be honest, without having put pressure on yourself too. Once you get the next period, you'll be good to go again. No harm in sechsing in the meantime but the most important thing for now is for you two to look after each other. Watch nice films whilst eating ice cream and Galaxy Ripple. Have a nice cuddle in your pyjamas. Talk about it with him (men often don't know what to say and do that strong silent type thing which does NOT help).

We, of course, are here for any lezzing and violence you might like to partake in!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 04/12/2011 11:02

Yes, I think the only way our situation could have been avoided was by unplugging everything in the kitchen. But definitely the fire alarms work us before things got too far out of hand.
bugsy just take some time to process everything. kat has some excellent suggestions. I have dispatched MSB to co-op to get similar supplies for us.

CaveMum · 04/12/2011 11:07

Bloody hell Faith Shock Thank god you're all ok.

[gives Bugs a cuddle, and a kick in the shins for good measure]

AriesWithBellsOn · 04/12/2011 11:22

Thank God you're ok, Faith. What a shocking thing to happen. Look after yourselves in the days ahead won't you. Fire is a very traumatic thing and you have had a big shock. xxxx

Hello Bugs. OK flower?

MadameBoo · 04/12/2011 12:41

Here is some Wine and some Thanks and a Bear for you Faithy. So glad you're ok. Scary stuff.

Bloody hell Faith what a shock you've had. Agree with everyone else that you should take it easy for a few days.

Good to see you are back in action BuggerBauls, don't worry about bringing Fred down. That's what it's here for innit.

There was an earthquake last night. I felt it, woke me up. I just thought a very big lorry had driven past! Anyone else feel it?

did a 10k XC race this morning & it was too muddy so I fell over. What a twat.

Wotcha, baubles, you bad-language-loving old fucker. Good to have you back. Definitely rie is right about not focussing on getting instantly rediffed. I know I was massively upset when I didn't, despite all the lovely websites persuading me I would be extra fertile. Lying toads. This is just a flying post, but will PM you in a bit.

Also. faith. Argh! I'm so glad you are ok.

LauraPalmerIsComingToTown · 04/12/2011 14:14

hey Bauble - glad you're with us and I completely understand the need for violence (and maybe a little lezzer action when you're ready.) I am happy to talk about what you're going through - especially as I've been there so recently myself. I'm just off to a xmas do, but will be around and available tomorrow night. We can even engage in a BESH phone chat if you'd like - just PM me.

Faithy darling, I'm so sorry to hear about your fire escapade! Glad you were safe, don't fret about the kitchen - it will get sorted. Yay for MSB's fire safety! Have a slice of lemon tart.

Dory, sorry I missed your post-do lovely drunkenness...I just might be back with my own drunken bells on after tonight's soiree...

sunny you name change by going on MyMumsnet on the top bar and then you can change your chat name.

AuntieDoris · 04/12/2011 15:53

Woohoo I seem to have escaped a hangover. Paracetamol and a pint of water at 6am seems to have done the trick!

It's pissing down so heavily here and is so dark that I have decided to put my PJ's back on. It seemed like the right thing to do!

InTheSunshine · 04/12/2011 16:04

Nothing better than a Sunday in your pj's Dor

LP where you off to tonight?

I have purchased what can only be described as leisure wear matching hoodie and trews. Luffly and soft.
dor did you have a good time then?! Xmas Wink

AuntieDoris · 04/12/2011 16:34

I had a great time - it was my work Christmas do and it still is a bit of a surprise that I quite like the people I now work with :)

Itwasonastarrymole · 04/12/2011 16:37

Afternoon all, many apologies for absence, have actually typed two messages this week on my stupid phone and lost them both, and it takes so long it makes me MAAAAAAAD.

Am desperately sorry to hear that the universe has not been kind At All in a BESHly direction this week, baublelugs am so sorry for your loss, and glad to see you and mrlug are looking after yourselves and each other.Sad Faithhopeandcharity glad you're both ok, what a terrifying experience.

Inthesnow did you roll around a bit in the mud when you were down there?

I got a bit drunk on Fri at my Christmas do, but mostly because I went for an Indian and had NO NAAN. I will be expecting my medal of valour and will power in the face of extreme temptation any day now. (red wine is calorie free, no? )

CaveMum · 04/12/2011 16:49

Afternoon all, breathing a huge sigh of relief here as MIL has just left after lunch. The parental units are still here and by jove it's hard going!! They are not very active people (dad is blind and mum very hard of hearing) so are content to sit around the house most of the time - it's driving me mad!

I've been in a right strop all day, and feeling a tad emotional, I'm not sure if it's the stress of having the folks here or a looming droid. It's due around the 8th, so my mood could well be early signs of a non-win.

InTheSunshine · 04/12/2011 17:42

Mole, Mole, Mole NO NANN?? Schoolgirl error. I was unable to roll around as there were a few hundred people behind me. I wouldn't have wanted to have caused mass hysteria Grin

Cave your afternoon sounds stressful even without taking the menkul into consideration.
