Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

Sorry to hear that, horseylady. Have you been to your gp about it at all over the 12 months? Mind be worth getting checked out...

Have a fun weekend of trying, everyone. All this swi means I'm also in uti hell! Sad

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 22/10/2011 13:21

Does anyone feel it when they ovulate?

I'm on month 1 of trying and have never kept a check of my cycles (although they have certainly seemed regular). If I'm 28 days I should be ovulating today.

I can feel a sort of twinge across my lower stomach constantly. I have never noticed ovulation before, but then neither have I been looking.

Could the twinge be ovulation?

I also have the (usual) uti so I'm wondering if its related to that, although its a different "pain" than usual...

Clandy · 22/10/2011 13:53

Hello not read whole post yet but I shall set it as bed time reading as I must dash and clean the kitchen while dd has a nap!! Any way.... Smile
I came off pill at end if June to ttc, then a job thing came up and had to wait. Af was due 3 weeks ago but have decided to resume swi on the off chance I get lucky!!
Feeling a little nervous joining a big new thread Blush

cherrypiew3 · 22/10/2011 14:36

Hi Clandy

CAULDRON Last christmas i came off the pill for 3 months and i noticed then that half way through the month i got stomach ache almost like period pains after a few days it would go then about 10 days after that AF would turn up. I think this was when i was ovulating does this sound anything like what you are getting. This is my first month of ttc so have not looked for it yet, i have never been very good and trying to keep up with what my body is doing.

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 22/10/2011 15:40

Thanks cherry, that does sound like it

Hi clandy, don't be nervous, we're all pretty new.... Welcome!

BoscoWillHauntYourDreams · 22/10/2011 17:36

Well I just POAS and despite the fact that AF is late (ok by a day, but it counts!) BFN for me. I never felt that dissapointment before.

Hey ho we keep trying though!

Fishpants · 22/10/2011 18:54

CD 12, OPK's have all been negative so far so not wasting any baby juice Grin. Hope all of you are doing well Smile

Clandy · 22/10/2011 19:51

Ok so I have swatted up and feel up to date!! I am a teacher also and swi over half term Grin (as well as obsessive half term cleaning!!)

Thanks for the welcomes Smile

Vino- I am ttc number two and everyone says you love number 2 just as much but it is a worry for me cos dd is perfect (not biased or anything GrinGrin) also worry that it will be hard for dd to adjust to sharing me and OH and that sometimes she might have to wait for things or share... Seems silly writing it down like that but I would never put her in a situation where she may be unhappy and now I really want to iyswim.....

Cup- I have told no one Sis knows but she is on mn ad knows my name so would know anyway!! I am also not married and think it invites people to ask you if it was planned or not when you announce.... But it's not anyone else business Smile

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 22/10/2011 22:35

sorry to hear that Bosco - sending you lots of luck for next month. Have you been trying long?

I'm quite excited about my first poas, even a BFN....

Clandy I see your point exactly - like it is anyone's business whether DC are planned, or a surprise! To add to the potential negativity DP and I have been together months rather than years, so my pov is why invite comments on something that is only our business...

Its great being able to get nervous and excited with online friends though Grin

Waiting for DP to finish work - he is aware of planned swi so don't think he'll be too long!!

BoscoWillHauntYourDreams · 22/10/2011 23:09

Thanks Cauldron Been trying two months but this was my first POAS. We were at a wedding yesterday and there was such a beautiful little boy and girl dancing and we were goo-eyed looking at them..I nearly stole one!

In all the years being with DP I never had a scare, I POAS once and it was positive...this has really hit me badly, I know that sounds foolish but it has..And Im sure I can feel the familiar pains starting so...never mind theres always next month!

Fishpants · 23/10/2011 03:10

What is SWI? Last time I was lurking it was BD for baby dance? ...

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 23/10/2011 10:14

Sex with intent, fishpants.

It's early days, Bosco... Good luck for next month though Smile

I was planning to be ever so laid back about this, but i can see that I'm just way too impatient for that! It has driven me mad knowing that ovulation is supposed to be sometime this weekend, but not knowing exactly when. I'm going to have to buy a couple of opk's I think especially as dp went to the pub last night when I'm pretty sure we should have been having swi

cherrypiew3 · 23/10/2011 11:48

Bosco sorry you got a BFN this is my first month of ttc this time round but i can remember that feeling of dissapointment well when i was trying for dc3.

Cauldron I was also planning to be laid back about ttc but its already starting to take over my life. I am very worried about the fact that dh works nights so we dont get much time for passion even when not ttc. I am going to try and hold out until after christmas and if we have had no luck then i will also be investing in some opk's.

Vinolover · 23/10/2011 13:30

Im so excited! Got my smiley face on my OPK this morning... Roll on this evening ;)

Gosh there are now so many of us :)
Xx

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 23/10/2011 13:52

Gah! I really really want an opk!! Why oh why did I ever think I was going to be relaxed about this!? That's not my style AT ALL!!

Go for it, Vino!!

Vinolover · 23/10/2011 13:55

I was going for the relaxed approach also and have failed miserably!

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 23/10/2011 14:12

Grin I think we're cut from the same cloth, Vino.

I have just ordered some opk's from Amazon. They won't get here in time this month but next month I'll be armed and dangerous!! Blush

cherry I only see DP weekends so I'm kind of in the same boat - its all or nothing Friday night to Sunday morning!

Sarah5656 · 23/10/2011 15:05

Bosco- so sorry for your negative result, keep trying, keeping my fingers crossed for you x

God I'm not relaxed at all. Enjoying all the practicing! But the thought of making a baby seems to keep popping into my head during the SWI. Things like is this the best position!

Been obsessing about ovulation too. Was not like this with my first two ( first unplanned and second happened first time and I was very relaxed about the whole process)

Check out this website I've found Smile

BoscoWillHauntYourDreams · 23/10/2011 15:30

Ah thanks guys, we'll keep trying!

Sending fertile thoughts to all!

kirrinIsland · 23/10/2011 15:53

I was planning on being all relaxed about it this time to but it seems it very quickly becomes an obsession.

I've got my opks ready and waiting but I'm pretty sure it'll be sometime next weekend when I am away without DP - typical!

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 23/10/2011 16:31

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!

I don't even know how long my cycle is at the moment, but that hasn't stopped me hazarding a guess and then getting all stressed about it Blush

According to Sarah's link (thanks Sarah) if I'm on a 28 day cycle my most fertile days are Wednesday/Thursday, which is absolutely useless as I never see DP on those days Sad

horseylady · 23/10/2011 16:42

No I spoke to the GP about 18 months ago as I was having troubles, but everything settled down. They were (are?) concerned as my periods only last two days since I came off the pill and were every 5 - 6 weeks. Now they are around 30 days, but still only last about 2 days.....I'll make an appointment tomorrow even though I don't wan to :(

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 23/10/2011 16:49

Probably worth it horsey, even just to put your mind at rest...

I presume you ride? A good friend of mine was hunting at 4 months pg, which I thought was daft brave... she also hunted on the morning of her wedding which I thought was very cool Smile

peeriebear · 23/10/2011 16:56

I'd like to have a seat too if I may :) Came off the Pill about six months ago but in that time I've had a Fenton's procedure, DD2 has had minor surgery, I've been ill/anaemic at fertile times... things have definitely taken a back seat!
This week has been my fertile week so we shall see.

CauldronOfBrownJoy · 23/10/2011 16:59

ooh good luck peeriebear!

Warning - this thread seems to induce mild opk ocd!!
