Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

oooh Kirrin which Jilly Cooper? I dip back into them every so often... Rupert Campbell Black...... Smile

kirrinIsland · 13/11/2011 21:36

cup I'm reading Jump at the mo, but I've just worked my way back through all the others - love 'em :)

MinkyMoodles · 13/11/2011 22:21

Ooooh The Man Who Made Husbands Jelous! Love a bit of Jilly. Takes me back to my school days!
I've managed to keep hold of some of my favourites!

YorkshireTeaAddict · 13/11/2011 22:27

I've never read Jilly Cooper...what kind of books are they? X

kirrinIsland · 13/11/2011 22:37

minky I have them all - both in book form and now on my iPad - and just keep going back to them.

Yorkshire they are very high-brow, intellectual stuff....... Not really :) upmarket chick-lit - easy reading and fun. Follows the antics of a rather upperclass bunch, usually involving horses or orchestras - if you fancy trying them, start with "Riders". Always worth a look in charity shops for them.

Fishpond · 14/11/2011 00:25

Having first nausea attack - bleurgh. Don't think I'll be eating pizza again for awhile.

Found out grandmother is having bypass surgery tomorrow to try and get rid of the blockage in her abdomen. They have said could be few different scenarios - best case is they can remove blockage, put in small tube in her stomach during the 1-2 week recovery then take it out and everything back to normal, can start chemotherapy in 6 weeks-ish. Worst case, blockage is too large or tumors too extensive and nothing can be done, will have a permanent ostomy bag and chemo could be ineffective completely Sad

Have told work I won't be coming in tomorrow, they seemed annoyed Angry. Will be telling her about the pregnancy in a couple of days after surgery is over - just think life is too short and she will be supportive.

Sorry this post is very self-centered, just thought I'd update about where she is right now. I'm off to bed soon after watching this episode about the Duggars (that family with 19 kids...) the mom is pregnant again too wow, 20 kids!!!!!!!!!

Good morning Ladies,

Kirrin I've started eying up my old Jilly Coopers, which first? Decisions!

Fish glad you've finally got some info about Gma's surgery & fingers crossed. Is she a strong person? Think she'll be very proud of you, telling her about DC.

Cup as I started to read your post I thought you were on about cracking open some vino! Was thinking, whoa, bit early! I think I started my OPKs on day 6 and got my smilie on day 16, next time I'll start later!

Sparkle there's still hope. I've followed in your footsteps, tested twice and naff all. I'm going to wait and see if she turns up before considering opening another test!!! I feel cross with myself for giving in!

I'm meant to be doing some work for DP but he's still snoozing, COD overdose, so I shall just doss about until the boss gets up!

Have a fun day y'all!!

MMxx

Hi all,

Hope everyone is feeling fab - though obv. going off some recent posts there is a fair spread of sickness, indigestion, and hormonal emotional-ness flying around!!

Im feeling much better - got over the fact AF is here and the kidney infection is loads better though still on antibiotics. Going to pamper myself though and take it easy for a bit to get my bod in full prep for the next time we start SWI!! Smile

Glad there seems to be lots of good-ness around in terms of BFP too, yeah!! Grin

dameflamingo · 14/11/2011 11:19

Hi all

Hope everyone is well today. Found shelf full of Jilly Cooper's in charity shop round corner from house.... shall have to invest - never read one. So farcycle has not returned to anything approaching regular so I can't give any other stats than tell you that I'm 34 which, positively I suppose, is a full 6 months too young for GP to take irregular cycle as a serious issue :-/

Having just discovered mumsnet (I know where have I been for the last few years?) I'm reading lots about POAS and kits. Any advice anyone has on the relative merits of kits would be greatly appreciated - when I asked my GP I was advised to 'stop worrying' and that home ovulation kits are inaccurate at best and could lead to 'crazy behaviours' instead saying ensure regular 'attempts' and allow nature to work. (easy for him to say!!)
x

minky I started with "Riders" and worked my way through in order. I got "Jump" for Christmas last year and had just started it when DD rocked up early - it's too big and heavy to read when breastfeeding so I left it for a while. Then I decided to re- read all the others first, so I'm finally getting back round to "jump" - it's really good :)
On that note, I can recommend an e-reader as a treat to self when BFing, lightweight, and can read in the dark in night feeds - I've practically worn my iPad out. I also listened to the delectable Stephen Fry reading all the Harry Potter books - hours and hours of BFing entertainment :)

fish hope gma's surgery goes well - thinking of you xx

Hope everyone else has a good day :)

I seriously cannot keep up with you all! Lol

Fish Im really hoping your gma's surgery is positive. It's hell going through this :(

Cup im on day 10 too but haven't started the opk yet, maybe tomorrow. I didnt get a positive until about day 16. AF has finally finished after lingering far longer than was welcome. Luckily DH is now more than ready Wink (every cloud........) I also know not to wear him out before hand!

I had some bloods done today (have low white cells and iron) so DR wanted me to be checked out before I fall pregnant. Fingers crossed they're ok.

Fishpond · 14/11/2011 14:47

Welcome Dame you are in good company. I say rubbish to your doctor as the OPK's worked beautifully for me, I would not have been able to conceive artificially without them. Saying that, I used both Clearblue and a cheap store brand, the store brand was MUCH easier for me to read and interpret. I found Clearblue very light and shoddy.

dameflamingo · 14/11/2011 15:06

Thanks Fishpond - I shall give them a try, I've tried for 6 months without so I think definitely worth a go. Congrats also on your great news!

dameflamingo · 14/11/2011 15:10

sorry - new to forum tried to press space and posted instead,,,

as I was saying...

...and sorry to hear about your grandma. Will send out thoughts for her tomorrow.

Fishpond · 14/11/2011 15:18

How about OPK Obsessing, Symptom Spotting, Summer Babies Bus?

My grandma died at the weekend Sad so I'll be back in the UK for a few days. It'll be nice to see family again, although obvously I'd rather it was for a happier reason....

Cup big hugs, sorry to hear your sad news :( Hope your gorgeous Daniel is keeping you good company! xx

Vinolover · 14/11/2011 21:46

I'm so sorry cup. Thinking of you. Xx

YorkshireTeaAddict · 14/11/2011 21:54

Oh Cup I am so sorry Sad Bug big hugs xxx

Secret it sounds like DH doesn't want you to get preg or am I misreading?

And the symptom spotting begins! Sensitive nipples for the last week, the pokey bits actually poke out all the time and i swear they are darker. Even DH has noticed!! Too early for ss, surely?!
