New thread ladies, pull up a pew.

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 16/09/2011 22:07

Oh yes absolutely i think so. They often seem to crop up at the most stressful times!
HSG is on Tuesday. Am working mon, weds and thurs and then driving oop north thurs night then on to anglesey on sat for long weekend with dp's mum, dad, sis, her bf and their baby girl. Think its going to be a busy week.

NinjaChipmunk · 16/09/2011 22:08

hi generic cava would be lovely, thanks!

maybebabyR · 16/09/2011 22:10

Is this a really silly question, but shouldn't you take it a bit easy after an HSG?

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaithBaybee · 16/09/2011 22:13

howdy brookers! Love the new thread. Just poking my nose in to say hi and especially to biscuits awesome news re your scan :) Really happy everything is ok.
Hope you continue to feel better dream.
We're still not not trying iykwim. Not expecting much til after DH's specialist appt though. Once he's fixed though I'll be brooking but you'll all have moved on to ante-natal I'm sure
Laters ladies!

NinjaChipmunk · 16/09/2011 22:18

maybe I think so. I'm having it done on my day off and my mum will have ds for the afternoon and dp is happy to look after me that night. I'll take it easy on the weds and thurs at work, but my work is generally desk based so shouldn't be difficult! I have a course of antibiotics to take after as well.
Speaking of which, before I go in to have it done I have to use a pessary. I've never actually done this myself before, is it easy? How far do you have to, um, push it in??? I'm a little apprehensive (I think I'm more scared of the pessary than of the hsg!)
Hi faith good to see you!

musicalmrs · 16/09/2011 22:21

maybe - it's definitely time for your ironic BFP!

I've not got too much planned this weekend - a day in a church tower promoting bell ringing tomorrow (as you do), and visiting FIL on Sunday. Pleased my step mother in law won't be there as she'd nag about when we're going to start a family, and I might have cracked..

Dream - hoping the eating/drinking progress is still going well.

Ninja, glad you had a great holiday!

GenericDietCola · 16/09/2011 22:28

Ah well Maybe morning sounds much nicer and at least you can relax and doze off now!

Hello Have so nice to see you although I have noticed you around on other threads eg the honey one, which I'm sure will be every bit as lucky as this one. What is DH's appt all about? Ignore if that's too personal. Hope everything goes well for you and you get your baybee very soon.

Ninja yes you must take it easy. Re pessary - not had an HSG, but I believe the best thing with a pessary is to get it in as far as possible so the active ingredients have maximum time to absorb while the rest of the pessary is on its way out (ahem). At least, that's the theory for the pessaries you get for thrush and piles, with which I am intimately acquainted

Musical are you a bell ringer then? I used to ring bells at the local church when I was a teenager!

maybebabyR · 16/09/2011 22:40

Ninja agreeing with generic re pessaries. Pretty much like a tampon tbh.

Glad you will be taking it easy, and take painkillers if you need them.

Bon Soir Have Not not trying=ironic BFP. fact.

Horrific admission coming. I am watching the Bachelor. I always though Gavin Henson was a twat. I am now changing my views.

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaithBaybee · 16/09/2011 22:44

Ah generic you should know by now I'm not shy! DH's lack of swimmers looks to be due to high levels of the hormone prolactin (causes low sperm count, low mood, decreased libido). He sees a specialist end of November about it. Cause should be treatable and after it's sorted we should be fine but in the mean time it's unlikely but I'm still hopeful that I'll get upduffed.
I am mostly lurking in infertility and chat now but still check in on you all.
ninja do the pessary in the bathroom, I did one for thrush, it went everywhere! Hope the Hsg goes well and doesn't hurt like mine did

GenericDietCola · 16/09/2011 22:51

Have that sounds horrible but great that it should be treatable and also that the treatment may help his depression too. You stay hopeful and I just know it will happen soon.

Maybe not seen that programme but I will confess to watching very dodgy things when I get the TV to myself (rarely). My favourites being any documentary involving Katie Price (I know but she makes me laugh!)

maybebabyR · 16/09/2011 22:58

Maybe it's a TTC-induced thing Generic, kind of like a pre-pregnancy symptom

Have so pleased it is treatable. You are going to be getting your BFP in no time, mark my words.

Maybe I came across The Bachelor while ironing one Sunday afternoon. I admit, I watched and became a bit hooked. I always thought he was a twat too until I saw him previously on 71 degrees North and Strictly Come Dancing last year. Then I changed my mind about him, he seems a nice enough chap. Not my type physically, although I can see he has a fantastic body.

Wait til you're on mat leave and you become hooked on daytime/chav tv. My latest while DS naps is The Real Housewives of New York Blush

HaveALittleFaithBaybee · 16/09/2011 23:01

America's next top model. Every day. Set up to record on V+.

GenericDietCola · 16/09/2011 23:03

Oh God I like 16 and pregnant too. Just if it's on on a Sunday afternoon or something, honest!

maybebabyR · 16/09/2011 23:05

I actually cannot wait Scarlet I ha a few big knee ops this year, so was off for about 6 months. I was hooked on Diagnosis Murder, Gilmore Girls, and cooking related program and any Australian soap. I am going to have to check that program out Grin He isn't my type either, too pretty, but he is easy on the eye

Dream I love that program too, Started watching it before TTC, and literally ended up in a puddle of tears. DH was very confused!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/09/2011 06:49

How lovely to see you Have Smile

We have missed you! It is really good news that DH's prolactin thing should be treatable so I'll be looking forward to hearing how that all goes? In the meantime I bet being a but more relaxed about ttc is maybe a bit of a nice break? I mean I know you'd still rather have that bfp but is it maybe taking the pressure off and letting you put a but more fun back into it all? And if dh's treatment helps libido and mood to you should be firing on all cylinders when ttc begins again in earnest!

Do you know how they are likely to treat it? Or how long it takes to 'fix'?

Anyway, we love it when you pop in Grin

Hope everyone else is ok. I also love awful tv GrinBlush although at the moment I am mainly watching an 'admittable' mix of celeb masterchef, British bake off etc (which just leaves me feeling culinarily inadequate!)

duke748 · 17/09/2011 07:53

Latest update on my wee.... (think I might be getting slighty obsessed!)

BFN Sad but no AF either....

My AF was due yesterday but B vits have hopefully lengthened luteral phase, so not sure when it's really due. Hopefully sometime in 2012! [determinedly brooking]

I'm on maternity leave ATM, love crap TV. You guys seen 'Bridezillas'?

PopcornMouse · 17/09/2011 08:03

Happy Saturday fellow rat smackers!

I also like teen mom and Desperate Housewives of Orange County. I didn't know there was a NY one, what time & channel? I'm also hooked on Jeremy Kyle :o

Huge spike in my temp today, I've topped 37 for the first time. No idea if that means anything at all, but I told DH and he gave me a "go you!" (he has no clue either) :o

PopcornMouse · 17/09/2011 08:05

Sorry for the BFN Duke - it's not over til the red lady sings! But it looks good for your luteal phase if nothing else :)

musicalmrs · 17/09/2011 08:37

Generic, I am indeed a bell ringer! In training though - I only began at the beginning of the year. My husband's been ringing for 10 years, and needed a student!

dream, I adore both those programmes too. DH isn't so keen though, so they're always my guilty pleasure when I get home from work..!

HaveALittleFaithBaybee · 17/09/2011 09:21

Did you know 'bell ringing' in the USA means something entirely different don't Google it
Hi biscuits! Yes the scary thing is it's likely to be a tumour (non-cancer) on his pituitary gland so fixing it would mean an operation. By the time he's been scanned after his appointment and had the op if he needs it, it'll be after Christmas before he's sorted. And then six weeks to get to swimmers up to speed. But then yes life is more relaxed, having sff, not charting not waking up at six on a weekend Work wise it's all up in the air still so after Christmas.would be better timing.

farfallarocks · 17/09/2011 09:36

Another one with neon pee :)

Sorry about the BFN duke, might be too early though, only 11dpo for you I think?

Any word from music?

Hello have good to see you again!

imps I know how stressful the SWI can be, have you tried losing it a bit with him, I got really cross with DH and explained how all consuming it is for me and that seems to have the trick. But I know what it is like to be thinking all day, is it going to happen and then by the time you see him you are a ball of nerves anyway!!

No AF here, another BFP this morning but soooo faint (more than yesterday)
Had cramping and spotting all day, its brown though and only when I wipe

Had a bit this morning as well.
Not sure what to think. DH thinks its not going to happen and we should not get our hopes up. I kind of agree with him but its the hope that kills you! Annoyingly we are about to go away for the night for our anniversary and this has really put a dampner on things, not sure how much to drink etc

I just have to be patient, not my strong point!
Thanks for alll the no brooking vibes guys, was thinking of you all last night and how nice it was to have you rooting away!

p.ss dream a chemical is where you get a BFP and then AF arrives on time or a few days late, the egg was fertilised but did not implant properly

maybebabyR · 17/09/2011 10:44

Morning all!

Duke sorry about the BFN, also think it may still be too early. But great news that your LP is getting longer!

Farfalla I am keeping everything crossed for you. Really hope you can relax a little and enjoy your anniversary (though I know that is easier said than done!). Also, a drink will not hurt at this very early stage Smile

Have really hope DH gets fixed soon

Wohoo for temperature spike Popcorn!

Morning All!

Lovely to see you Have - I've seen you on the honey thread too . I too will be purchasing it - in fact it will be winging its way to be shortly in the Sainsbos delivery. What the hell eh? Honey will be a middle name at the very least if it works. Even if it's a boy.

Far you and DH may be being conservative in your hopes but I am brooking harder than ever for you! Come on universe! Give Far the gorgeous snuffle bug she deserves!

Sorry about BFN Dukes I hate BFNs. I hate them! . Many people take a while to get a BFP though - you could one one of those!

Generic I love playing with language :)

It's mine and DH's 8 year anniversary today - I'd forgotten Blush in all the new term madness but DH is being v sweet about it. He's even agreed to start taking WellMan vits today and he doesn't even think the honey is weird
