Looks like we need a new thread for Italian, Scrummy, Beginnings, womanly, lissy, rowing, fretfree, Teds77, keziah, frustrated and anyone else who wants to chat about assisted conception!

Excellent plan Rowing , just make sure you leave a little hatch for them to deliver regular delicious meals, drinks (using the kettle in the room invariably disappoints) and little snackies...

Are you on anything apart from oestrogen? I had to start taking aspirin and steroids too (Serum is very belt and braces) and antibiotics for 4 days and progesterone 3 days before ET. I did rattle when I walked!

Drumming fingers, wiggling toes, never could whistle but am working on a mindless hum, have cleaned the kitchen and done 4 loads of laundry, now eyeing up the tree in the middle of the lawn with toothpicks in mind....

rowingboat · 23/09/2011 23:36

Laughing at mindless hum! Grin Could you rig up one of those big bass drums on your back for when you walk? I'm really getting into this one-woman band thing. You could try busking, that would definitely take your mind off things. Smile

I do have steroids from last FET which I requested, so I will probably take those. I don't want to overdo the blood-thinning as I am taking quite high dose fish oils, but might do a quarter of a baby aspirin.
There is a test for hidden c which a few women have taken on FF, and the treatment is mega doses of antibiotics. The test sample is taken during AF, so i think I have missed the boat on that, could just get the antibiotics, but it sounds a bit harsh, don't really agree with my tum. [bleuch face]

level · 24/09/2011 20:41

Hi all, hope you're all well.

Had my transfer this morning. All 4 were still going! I had:
8 - 4/3
8 - 3/3
6 - 3?/2?
6- ?/?

I can't remember the grades of the 6 cell ones properly.

They transferred the best 8 cell. Because it's my first try and apparently I'm young (don't feel it in terms of fertility!) they only transferred one. I couldn't believe how fast the transfer was. It felt like 2 mins max.

They are trying to grow the rest to blast stage. She said that if they don't ring on Tuesday they've stopped growing.

DH has been properly looking after me. He's letting me do anything I want. We drove to Bradford (45 mins) just to go to my favourite curry place and then I got to order what I liked even though he found it too spicy.

I've been cutting down on the tea and had nothing today until I got a big headache. A cup of tea cured that. Not sure I'll be able to give up completely.

beginnings · 25/09/2011 09:52

Well done level!! Very best of luck and everything crossed for you!

Keziahhopes · 25/09/2011 13:51

Great news level about ET and Dh's attentions!! I found Redbush tea solved my tea cravings minus the caffine. Hope 2ww goes well for you - are you off work?

level · 25/09/2011 15:00

Thanks. I'm not off work. My job is pretty sedentary so hopefully it won't make a difference that I'm working. Also I'm trying to make sure this whole ttc thing doesn't become the only focus of my life.

I'm actually having to cancel a holiday to Bali next week because of the 17 hour flight. I could stay in the UK and chill out but my plan is to see if the embryo sticks. If it doesn't I'll go to Bhutan in November which I couldn't otherwise do and if it does I'll go to the Highlands.

lucylookout · 25/09/2011 15:40

That's fab level, keeping everything crossed for you.

Hi to everyone else!

Italiangreyhound · 25/09/2011 21:00

Hi all

Wow level excellent news. So pleased for you. How old are you, I am sure you are young compared to some of us, e.g. me!!

Mojangles thanks for telling me your story, I did remember you were not sure if you had any frozen embies from the first one, how fab to get the first donor again.

Rowing hoping November will be good to you and NO SNOW at all.
Scrummy any news?

Keziah hope all continues well with you.

lissy how goes it honey?

Wellerbabe, Pinkapples, Teds77, Pocket, Beginnings, Flip, Lucy, Val, Womanly, woowa, fretfree, marmite, frustrated, level and Pumpkinjoy* - baby dust and big hugs to all.

Our news is that egg collection is next week, sooner than I was expecting so busy getting myself psyched up! Must dig out the Zita West tape!

Italiangreyhound · 25/09/2011 21:01

Sorry level you got in their twice!

level · 25/09/2011 22:34

Hi Italian. V exciting ec is coming up. Do you know how everything is going with the donor or don't they tell you?
I'm 33 - always thought I'd have one and another on the way by now.

Italiangreyhound · 26/09/2011 02:03

level they tell me nothing except she is nearly ready, I'm praying all is well with her. I really hope she gets a baby out of this but even if she does I won't be told.

MoJangles · 26/09/2011 07:20

Whooo whooo whooo Level ! Brilliant result at ET! Everything's crossed for Microlevel and the 3 potential Level frosties. 33... gahhhh... compared to me you're a superacheiving wonderbabe. 10 years ago when I was 33 [nods sagely, reaches gnarled hands for knitting, resumes rocking next to fire] I was still wallowing around in bad relationships wondering what I was doing wrong, certainly not getting a family going and juggling fabulous holiday options. Go you! And welcome to the 2WW. Perhaps you'd like to join my band? We have an opening for an irritable foot-tapper.

Rowing yes the Yuck Test for C is one of the Serum standard tests, v nice collecting the sample! fortunately I was negative, so escaped the mega antibiotics; the 4 day dose before ET this time is another of Serum's precautions just to make sure no other lurgies are lurking. I wouldn't have thought embarking on the big dose without a positive C test would be a good idea (agree about the tum too).

Italian how exciting! i'll be sending you and your donor loads of positive vibes. Get relaxing good woman!

So i've bought a First Response test which apparently works from 6 days before you're due on, which means I could use it today. I know, I know... It's singing me a siren song from where I've hidden it from DH in the bathroom cupboard. The thing is, as long as I don't test, I might be pregnant, whereas if I do test and it's BFN, game over...

level · 26/09/2011 20:08

I know you're not supposed to test but I think I'll be POAS from day 10. I'm definitely in for some foot tapping!

Italiangreyhound · 27/09/2011 00:58

Mojangles and level hope to join you on the two week wait soon.

How's it going Lucy.

Jugs to all.

Italiangreyhound · 27/09/2011 01:00

Freudian slip, HUGS to all not jugs to all!!!

lucylookout · 27/09/2011 08:37

Hi Italian, I'm still here. I've been reading the thread regularly, just don't have much to post right now. I will call ARGC later today to find out if my post humira tests are back yet. IF they're ok, expect to go in for day 1 blood test at the end of this week some time. IF they're ok I can start a cycle. So many ifs! In the mean time I have been planning and organising just in case it's all systems go.
Very excited for you and EC. After all those months of waiting it seems to be finally happening quickly. So hope it works for you.
Hi to everyone else too x

lucylookout · 27/09/2011 16:35

Immunes results are back at argc and being reviewed by mr T. They'll be calling me back shortly. Aaaargh. So hope they'll be ok [anxious emoticon]

beginnings · 27/09/2011 17:55

Italian that's fantastic news about progress. Could be soon!!

Best of luck lucy - hope you get the news you need.

level having been here a couple of times, I found testing early more stressful as faint lines will turn a person crazy.....just a warning!!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

I am officially back into the tender care of the NHS Confused. We had a 9+5 scan this morning. It has two legs, two arms (at least one of which is capable of waving!) a brain and the beginnings of a spine. I'm still waiting for my booking in appt although i know they have me in the system as they've sent me a booklet about scans and a survey to fill in. Will be talking to them about that as it asks you to list all pregnancies but then doesn't give you a place to list miscarriages. Kings have my referral for the screening scans so waiting for an appointment there too. Feel like I have to be all over everyone to make sure I'm not just being pushed through a sausage machine but all is good.

This has been such a lucky thread over the past couple of months.....really hope that it continues for everyone else!!

LissySilver · 27/09/2011 18:14

level- Well done you on your embryo transfer! Hope you have a painless 2 ww, and try not to spend too much time on Google!

Italian- YAY ec! How exciting! Really keeping everything crossed for you...

beginnings- I'm sure those scans are such a relief! Keep incubating, honey...

rowing- November is right around the corner....

lucy- Hope the 'ifs' are settled in the next few days. If they aren't, be comforted that ARGC really know what they're doing, and they won't start you until your body is ready. I know the waiting is horrible, but it's totally worth it in the end.

Mo- Glad you had a lovely holiday. I know how hard it is waiting to test...

AFM, 17 weeks today! Last week had a bit of a scare. Started vomiting on Tuesday morning, and the first few times I vomited, it was bloody. Went to hospital, and they wound up keeping me in for a few days. Turns out my stomach was really irritated from the aspirin and the blood thinners, hence the blood. And because I vomited so many times I was super dehydrated, so they kept me in until my tests came up clean. Baby is fine, had a scan on Friday to measure my cervix, and everything was perfect....baby measured perfectly, nice strong heartbeat, and cervix measurement was fine. Next scan on October 13, right before I go on holiday to the States...

Waves and baby dust to all!

level · 27/09/2011 18:57

Any news lucy?
Hope you're feeling better Lissy - that sounds like it was scary.

The clinic didn't call today so none of my other embryos have made it to blast. It doesn't give me much confidence in the one that was transferred.

beginnings · 27/09/2011 19:11

lissy that sounds horrible. Poor you. Hope you're properly better.

level keep heart.....the one you had transferred sounds strong and all may well be well.

MoJangles · 27/09/2011 20:59

Lissy what a nasty scare! So glad you're both OK.

Congratulations on your 'graduation' Beginnings and how wonderful to already have your first wave from your bubba!

Level hang in there, the survival rate of embies is known to be lower outside the womb than inside it. Microlevel is in exactly the right place and statistically has a much better chance than the ones in the petri dish.

Good luck with your results Lucy

How's the countdown going Italian ?

As for me, I'm a muppet. Despite actually agreeing with what Beginnings said, that it's better to just find out officially and beyond doubt, I POAS this morning. BFN. Way too early to be sure but it's taken the wind out of my sails and instead of feeling PUPO I know feel like there's no point in carrying on with the drugs. All self-inflicted, I'll bounce back tomorrow.

MoJangles · 27/09/2011 21:00

I now feel there's no point....

level · 27/09/2011 22:40

I'm sorry it's not the result you want mojangles but as Dh said to me today 'it ain't over till the fat lady sings.'

beginnings · 28/09/2011 07:41

.....and I haven't even started humming! Grin

Reaches for more cake...

mojangles fingers crossed you get better news in a few days.
