Hi Lucy and Pocket ( and everyone else!)

A big thank you for your responses re egg sharing plan. You've both really encouraged me and I'm going to spend the day today research all the places you've both suggested. I think I'll try to go to a few open evenings in January and contact pretty much clinic that's accessible location wise and go from there.

I'll let you know how I get on.

When is the scan Pocket dear?

oxox

bugsylugs · 28/12/2011 15:44

sunnyg what a lovely idea good luck with your reasearch.
pocket I had very little of symptoms with ds. DH was sooo disappointed I did not get any silly cravings. However I am spending my time prodding my boobs! you have gotto laught at how crazy this all makes you and yesy one wait replaced by an equally stressful other one.
How do they calculate your edd from IVF and when do they scan think mine is very early partly as I politely declined Fri the 13th!!! see bonkers

Back at work boo hoo.

Xmas Biscuit Xmas Biscuit and [fbrew] all round

Pocket1 · 28/12/2011 18:05

Thanks for your kind words of reassurance for my lack of symptoms Xmas Smile. I made a comment earlier that my boobs were sore - and DP said how happy he was about that. Bless him!

My seven week scan is next Thursday - i am thinking (and hoping) i'm nearer 8 weeks since I think the scan would have been this week had the clinic not been closed for Christmas Xmas Sad. But we'll know soon enough and i'll share any news with you asap. go little fella go

Lucy how was your pre-Christmas scan? hope jeanie is growing big and strong. Xmas Wink

sunny hope you've had a good day researching Xmas Grin

bugsy has your BFP sunk in yet? i'm not sure how my dates are calculated - i know that generally it dates back to the last period but with all my pills and pre-transfer medication and the fact that i went on the pill for a week or two, i dont even know when that was. i guess i'll have to force myself to be patient and wait 8 more days!! i'm hitting the sales tomorrow so that should be a good distraction...

lots of love to everyone

xx

lucylookout · 28/12/2011 18:46

Pocket pre Christmas scan went fine and had another one today. Jeanie now measures 36mm. I think that's my last scan at ARGC. I have a 12 week scan booked at the fetal medicine centre next Fri which is the next BIG, BIG, BIG hurdle for me (the lethal abnormalities that ended my second pregnancy at 20 weeks were first suspected at the 12 week scan). I'm still not letting myself tell myself I'm pregnant yet. It won't become real to me unless we get the all clear then (nail biting emoticon).

Oh, and on the subject of symptoms, like I say, with DS I was fine throughout and this time I didn't feel rough until 7+ weeks, so there's time for you yet my dear Xmas Wink x

Pocket1 · 28/12/2011 19:25

Dear lovely lucy i can see why you'd be worried, that's completely understandable. But just want to send you a big hug that will last for the next week or so until your 12 weeker next week. We'll be waiting to hear that it all went brilliantly, jeanie is even bigger and stronger and that everything is just fine.

I am still saying my prayers daily for us all and will continue. 2012 is the year for us all, you mark my words!!

xx

Keziahhopes · 28/12/2011 19:37

Pocket unless you go private for everything the whole of pregnancy is a case of waiting between appointments. So hope the sales are a good distraction Xmas Grin Oh - and I also begged for symptoms, never really had any until 26 weeks!!! Now I am wishing the acid reflux and lack of sleep away!

Lucy it is good your 12 week scan is at a specialised clinic, hope that reassures you.

Sunny your research sounds good to do, and you are right if you wish to egg share age-wise 2012 is the time to do it. If needed you can still later have your NHS cycle. Open evenings sound really useful to go to, as you can ask all your questions (for free!) and get a good idea of where you like and which location suits you.

Italian hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Happy New year to ALL.

Well, 30 weeks tomorow for me. Really have grown a bump in last 2 weeks, such that two people have now asked if it is twins (no!) and I now get backache at end of a supermarket shop, or a numb and yet painful leg when standing for too long. This baby has certainly grown, having originally caused concern for being too small - on or above 50th centile now. Scan at 32 weeks which should be my last hospital appointment if all goes well. Hard to think that last Christmas we were waiting for IVF, having got delayed with paperwork etc!

Pocket1 · 28/12/2011 19:37

Ps. Lucy a friend of a friend also went to the fetal medicine centre - and spoke highly of them so you'll be in very good hands xxx

JosieSmith1 · 28/12/2011 19:50

Congrats bugsySmileSmile

Not a lot of news here. Back at work, not really enjoying it but not as anxious as I was before. Receptionist is back off maternity leave and says she wants another baby, cos apparently it's that easy for some people. SOmeone else who has just come back off mat leave is pg again and someone else is suspected of being pg again. I love my job Angry.

Had a good xmas, slightly marred by being just the two of us again when this time last year we thought it would be our last as a couple. And also forced to watch DH having enormous fun playing with his nephews and wondering if I'll ever be able to give him that for real Sad. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Bring on 31st Jan when I find out what my next step is, which might be IVF, which, tbh, would be a hell of a lot less stressful than trying to remember to have sex at the right times, and wondering if everything is even working anymore or if it's completely given up the game Smile

Pocket1 · 28/12/2011 19:52

Wow kezia almost 30 weeks with a growing bean, how fantastic. Sorry your suffering but hope you manage to find some relief for the next few weeks Grin. I keep reading that the tiredness and other symptoms are natures way of making us rest before baby comes, nice in theory but the groceries won't shop themselves!

So far all of our treatment has been private -at 45 I was too old and too impatient for anything else! 7 week scan also private - as part of my treatment plan. Thereafter DP are at the mercy of the Nhs, unless we decided to do other bits and pieces privately, which is unlikely given the enormous debt we have already incurred and have to clear in the next few months.

Just out of interest approx how much are private scans? And how often could/might you need them?

We do really fancy a 4D scan - any thoughts anyone?

X

Keziahhopes · 28/12/2011 20:00

Thanks Pocket. What I have found with the NHS, although long waits between things compared to private is that they give you what you need - so if there are problems you have extra appointments, but even if an IVF baby all can and hopefully is ok so just the two scans at 12 adn 20 weeks. We had an extra 2 booked at 28 and 32 (not detailed, just quick growth scan) as our little one wasn't growing enough - but as all was ok at 32 they cancelled seeing consultant etc. Seems good way to go - give those with medical problems the slots and those who are healthy (that is us now!) longer gaps. Only problem is having gone private to get pregnant one sort of gets used to regular appointments! We had one private scan with a company which was about £75. Decided against 4d scan in end. Private scans we rules out (unless looking for specialist scans for checking problems) would ahve just got addictive for me!!

Josie yes work can be like that. I have had to sit through 7 years of seeing everyone younger than me get pregnant. Although not nice, after several years my coping mechanisms got better!! For some people it is as easy as that, to get pregnant - but doesn't mean the rest of their life is easy in other areas, which is what I held onto when they even conceieved the months they wanted to etc!! So hope Jan's appointment helps lots.

bugsylugs · 29/12/2011 03:33

Hi all can't sleep keep worrying things are going wrong!! patience is not my best virtue and not helped by boobs going flat again and non painful.
pocket think like keziahhopes scans can become addicitive some private places rescan at 10 weeks shame notts don't. You are generally talking £70-£100. Lots of people seem to like the 4d scans they are quite detailed and you can get a dvd to keep. If I was doing a private scan I would be doing it around 10 weeks.
josie sorry to hear work is just throwing it all in your face kezia has some good words
lucy so brilliant to see jeanie again and am glad all going well, one day at a time glad to hear you are having the scan at a specialist centre. We will all be thinking of you and wishing you well. What you are feeling and doing is of course entirely understandable.
italian hope christmas was great and all is moving nearer thinking of you

Italiangreyhound · 29/12/2011 11:34

sunnyg really admire you for considering egg sharing.

Pocket hugs to you, don;t wish for too many symptons, it is healthy pregnancy that is important not feeling sick at the sight of food! Hugs.

Keziah wow, 30 weeks. Amazing.

Bugsylugs hugs to you, hope all will go well.

Scrummy big hugs to you.

Lissy how are you?

Rowing are you still looking in on us.

Josie know the feeling, I woke up this morning and started counting friends who had had babies since I had my delectable DD 7 years ago, one friend has had two and is expecting number 3 since I had my one, another had three all younger than mine and one had three younger than mine and is execting number 4. They all seem to decide when they want a baby and have one! But as we all say, they do not all have easy lives! One had had numerous operations for something, another had had depression and I am sure between them my friends have their own issues which I do not even know about!

Hugs to Teds. Weller, Mojangles Chutneyandcheese, Beginnings, arnie and all.

Thanks for your kind words pocket Smile

Keziah congratulations on being 30 weeks! And great that the baby has had a growth spurt. They just get on with things at their own merry pace don't they, and really aren't bothered by doctor's statistics and growth charts.

Josie roll on the 31st indeed. I know what you mean about people having babies on cue and how frustrating it is. I read something about Davina McCall the other day, and she said that to fit in with the Big Brother schedule, she had to have her 3 children in September, so conceived them all over Christmas. I don't mind her on the whole (as Italian would say, she's had her difficulties in life too) but I did think 'how bloody convenient for you!' Envy And yes, sex can become so boring/complicated/frustrating/routiney (delete as necessary) that it's sometimes a relief to have someone else take it in hand (so to speak Wink

Bugsy I hope you caught up on your sleep. I'm rubbish at taking my own advice (as you all know!) but please try to not worry. When is your scan date? (And I don't blame you for declining Fri 13th! I've become oddly superstitious too and always have to wear the same necklace to my clinic as I've decided it's my guardian angel).

Italian when will things start happening for you again? Hope you've had a relaxing and reviving Christmas.

Love to all including those I've missed x

Just quickly dropping in while I'm at work. I'm currently reading anovel about a woman who's grandfather used to own and run a bakery and now he's in a home, but she gets made redundant unexpectedly, so she rents a business property and starts her own bakery! How very appropriate Grin So I am now all inspired and stuffs Grin Anyway, hope you are all well. You must all come visit me in my bakery in the north east if it ever opens Grin (32 days to go!) Happy New Year to all of you sweet, gorgeous ladies! I firmly believe that 2012 is going to be the year of the baby for everyone on here. Don't give up hope, fight for what you want, and always have faith!

See you in 2012!!!

Happy New Year lovely Ladies

Just saw the ad for the return of One Born Every Minute. Oh Yes! Yep am ridiculously addicted.

So am progressing with my egg-sharing research. Attending an info eve at the London Women's Clinic Mid Jan and have received info from The Bridge. All of the rest seem to be closed till Jan 3rd. Anyway good to start gathering all the info... It's a minefield!

Wishing you all a fabulous and bub-filled year for us all!

Many thanks for all of your support oxoxox

JosieSmith1 · 30/12/2011 22:05

Well, 2012 will be the year for me. Either I conceive naturally, conceive through IVF, or IVF fails and we start adoption. Either way something is going to happen next year Hmm

Just put the finishing touches on my website, finally, with pictures! www.joscakerybakery.moonfruit.com if anyone fancies a look around.

SunnyG I think it's fantastic that you're being so generous Smile But I can't believe you watch one born every minute, it makes me so depressed wondering if it'll ever happen for us!

Italiangreyhound · 31/12/2011 02:22

Come on 2012, bring it on!

Hugs to you all.

I start treatment again in Feb, please God.

All best to you all.

wellerbabe · 31/12/2011 16:16

and Josie, I just looked at your website and it looks fab. The cakes look delicious (all my 'cakes' turn into biscuits so I'm full of admiration for you on that count alone!) and the website has a really nice, friendly, approachable feel. Hope you get lots and lots of business!

Hello lovely ladies and HAPPY 2012 TO YOU ALL

Thanks kezia its very reassuring to know that we'll get the attention we need from the NHS, I'd imagine as an 'older' lady, I'll probably be under a bit of scrutiny anyway which I will appreciate (btw I'm 44, not 45 as I'd put in an earlier post!)

Bugsy I'm right there with you on the worrying and lying awake thing - but everyone keeps on telling me not to worry. So I'll tell you 'don?t worry'!! When is your next scan then, is that 12 weeks? Approx when will that be. Crikey, this is one heck of a waiting game, not matter what stage we're at!

Italian and Josie sorry that you're surrounded by people who seem to get pregnant at will. Wont be long till people are looking at your baby bumps enviously Smile Josie, you're going to be busy in 2012 with your own cake business AND a baby! Really hope it works out for you.

Sunnyg wow you've done well lining up lots of egg share things so quickly. There's so much info out there but you'll find the right route for you Smile

Weller have a fab holiday - great that you're treatment is sorted for when you're back.

Lucy I'm sure, like me, your just filling time between now and your scan next week. Still a few good movies on the tv and some chocolates to graze on Smile

Lissy how is your hip?

Teds and Beginnings how are you and your bumps?

Scrummy hope you're making the most of the time off treatment. Feb/March will be here before you know it Smile

Rowing hope you're doing okay Smile. If you're passing, let us know how you are.

hello to anyone i've missed

AFM no news really, other than i have a lot of cramping and a bit of spotting (sorry for the tmi) - which i've read (in my book and online) is normal Hmm. Bring on that scan when i will know that its all okay... go fella go

Lots of love to everyone for a truly fantastic 2012
