Yay!! Pocket! Congratulations!!! What wonderful news! Go little fella go!

AFM I was tested this morning for chicken pox antibodies and will get the results in a few days, but have started to feel slightly itchy. I'm hoping it's just psychosomatic. They also scanned me and bean doesn't seem to have grown much since last week. Dr said 'it was within normal limits' but I'm still a bit concerned. Will keep you posted, keep your fingers crossed for me x

pocket Grin Grin Grin Fabulous News!!! Hi little fella

JosieSmith1 · 12/12/2011 18:13

Congrats Pocket!!!!!!!!!!!

Got my HSG first thing Monday morning. I'm nervous but excited too, it will let me know if there was ever a chance of a natural pg or not, and where we go from here. As far as I'm concerned, either there's no blockage and we try for another 6 months and then come back for ivf, or they're blocked and we have ivf now, so this test is, for me, just to tell me how long I'm likely to wait before having ivf. On the other hand, I have heard that you can be more fertile after the HSG so if there's no blockage, maybe it'll go in our favour. It's worth a try right

I also have a pearl of wisdom to share - I have always been a strong believer that you are only dealt in life what you can handle, so I believe that we are seen by the universe as the strongest of the bunch, because we can handle this rollercoaster. Take my newly pg friend for example, if she was where I am now, she would have had a complete mental breakdown. I have been close, but I am still fighting and I refuse to give up, as has everyone on here by the sounds of it. Therefore, I have been given this burden so that she didn't have to go through it.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it Grin

Scrummybumb · 12/12/2011 18:16

bugsy go embies go that's great news about all 3. And welcome to the 2WW

lucy (((hugs)))) I know it will be hard, but try and stay calm and think positive until told otherwise. Thinking of you

beginnings · 12/12/2011 18:23

Pocket!!! Well done! Good luck over the next few weeks. Stay calm. Yes, yes, I know, who am I to talk but it is important.

Lucy DH came home and announced he had shingles in June. While i was on a 2ww for my frozen cycle. I've never had chicken pox and was on prednisolone!! Shock turns out I am immune and was fine but was advised by a doctor that if you didn't get it when you were a kid, you were probably immune (both my siblings had it and I'm the eldest) and if you did have it, it was 99% certain you were fine. I really wouldn't worry if I were you. You and your little one will be fine.

Josie thoughts going out to your DH's dad. How awful. I do hope he recovers soon.

Italian, thanks. We just march on through. I think, as bugsy says, I'd far rather come off the clexane at 38 weeks or so....we'll see what they say. Interestingly, when I saw the GP on Friday, he was VERY surprised anyone had suggested I come off it.

Speaking of bugsy WELL DONE YOU!! Sticky vibes coming your way.

Nice to be back Scrummy!! DH's birthday is tomorrow and we always have his family over the Sunday before for birthday/Christmas celebrations including some of his family we don't see over the festive period so we always put the tree up for that. It's a good 'un this year!

Had my doctor's appt about my hip. Turns out I have an inflamed hip joint! Not pregnancy related. I've had a bothersome hip for a while but never really paid much attention as it came and went. Problem is, pressure makes it worse and it's on my left side which is an issue now that I've hit 20 weeks and have to sleep that way. Temporary solution is a pillow underneath it which helps. The GP says he'll give me a slow release steroid injection if it gets much worse which is safe in pregnancy and has referred me for physio.

kezia how are things with you? Hope all is well.

lissy I stopped looking at the baby centre size updates when I got to cantaloupe!! [shudder] Xmas Grin

Hello to anyone I've missed but this is a long one so well done if you've got this far.

wellerbabe · 12/12/2011 19:19

pocket congratulations!!!!! So pleased for you GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Hello to all the other ladies and hope you are feeling christmassy.

Xmas work party Tuesday night and just sprayed some boots silver for my space cadet costume, and the fumes have made me feel more in character than I had hoped! Blush

Keziahhopes · 12/12/2011 23:32

Bugsy Smile great news of your frostie.

Pocket - congratulations on your bfp - what wonderful news Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile.

Sorry been a bit quiet, had tough few weeks of illness and trying to work. Dr told me to stop work so been off since Friday. Had sinusitus for over 2 weeks, spread elsewhere now and was in hospital today for treatment to ear by suction (not nice) and narrowly avoided having to stay in for IV drugs as blood test results and lab results show what antibiotic might work, so start that one tomorrow! Also had my midwife changed, as consultant wasn't happy with amount of fetal movement and my midwife will only see me at 8,16,24 and 33 weeks and consultant asked me to see her more often. Dh explained her total lack of bedside manner (senior hospital midwife agreed!) and how she hasn't helped etc to put it politely. End result have to drive 15 minutes to different area to see one who can do her job, after I cried down the phone at senior midwife as I was so anxious. So now do get a 28 week appointment and one at 32, but maybe more often as consultant concerned baby not moving very much!

LissySilver · 13/12/2011 11:17

pocket- OMG, BFP!!! WOOO-HOOOO!!!!! Oh I am so happpy for you! You must be absolutely over the moon!

lucy- Take a deep breath and relax, sweetie. Everything will be ok. When's your next scan?

bugsy- Yay for your frostie! It's such a comfort, isn't it? Hope you can keep yourself occupied during the next two weeks.

keziah- So sorry to hear you've been feeling so poorly. It seems you've gotten all the bugs that have been lurking around this autumn. You poor thing! Glad to hear you got the midwife thing all sorted out. As hard as it is to nag, you've got to push and push until you get what you want. Please keep us posted about baby's movement...

Josie- How did the HSG go? Hope you're feeling ok, not too much discomfort.

scrummy- How's it going? Hope you're keeping yourself nice and distracted.

Hi Teds, Italian, rowing, beginnings, weller, etc.

AFM, had my 28 week consultant appointment yesterday. Glucose tolerance test came back high, so I'm at risk for gestational diabetes. That explains why I've been so tired and thirsty lately! Have to go Thursday and speak to a diabetic nurse, who will give me tips on diet, testing my blood, etc. I haven't been eating poorly at all, but consultant said that it is genetic (dad has type II), and that it is fairly common in pregnancy. Nothing to worry about, thankfully, as the only major risk is having a big baby and having to have a c-section. Will now be going for scans every four weeks to check that growth isn't out of control. Will also be having a scan next week to check on my cervix. Other than that, GRRRRR to the blooming neighbors!

bugsylugs · 13/12/2011 11:53

lissy glad you have got the results sorry it means more appointments. great about more scans who can resist them. remember grapes and banans v high in sugar

Teds77 · 13/12/2011 13:52

Afternoon Christmassy Ladies. I shall report back from our scan in the style of Mr Teds. ?Holy shit, there are two of them in there!? Xmas Shock

I always thought that I would cry (with happiness) if I ever got to see a tiny healthy flickering bean on a scan but instead I laughed ? it seemed so crazy to see two! Both feeling incredibly blessed if a little overwhelmed and panicked!!

lucy you are in my thoughts and I have everything crossed for you, I hope you get the results back very soon and your mind is set at rest x.

Josie hope your HSG goes well on Monday and hope that your FIL is getting better. Your last post made a lot of sense to me and glad that you are being so strong when things sound pretty tough.

bugsy good news on your frosty. When is OTD?

Hugs to all our pregnant ladies who seem to be having a tough time. keziah glad to hear that the end of all the stressfulness is hopefully a good and caring new midwife. lissy sorry to hear your news but it sounds like you are going to be closely monitored. beginnings ouchy! I?ve had an inflamed hip joint and it was agony ? can only suggest that you try to rest as much as possible as I?m presuming heavy duty anti-inflammatories aren?t allowed?

Italian I don?t know what to suggest about your friend but I almost feel that it?s worth gently reminding her what you are going through. Or stay strong and keep moaning on here if that helps ((hugs)).

pocket hope you are still enjoying your news with a rosy glow!

Waves to all the other ladies x.

Teds77 · 13/12/2011 13:53

Forgive me - I meant to bleep out Mr Teds bad language but got a little carried away Xmas Grin

bugsylugs · 13/12/2011 16:11

teds oh made me laugh. I can imagine the shock, panic you are going though. your head will get round it.
pocket good tip re films

londonlottie · 13/12/2011 16:46

Old-time lurker here - I used to post on this thread, now have (2 yrs old tomorrow!) twins from our 2nd round of IVF - wanted to say huge congrats to you Teds. I nearly fell off the chair in shock when we found out at our 7 week scan, and will never forget the moment those two sacs hoved into view on the giant screen above me. :)

lucylookout · 13/12/2011 17:03

Teds, woo hoo! There are going to be 2 littleteds. How exciting!

Lissy, do they think you can control it with diet then rather than medication. That'd be good. And as you say, no danger to the baby, it just means she might be a big'un!

Keziah, you have been through it recently haven't you. Good for you and DH though in getting new midwife who will actually do her job, and good news that you'll be getting more scans. I'm sure the baby is fine. Could it just be something as simple as there being slightly less amniotic fluid, meaning there's less room to move at this stage? I sincerely hope someone gives that other midwife some feedback on her performance too.

Earth to space cadet Weller, hope you enjoyed the party and have returned to our planet now. Xmas Wink

Beginnings, ouch. That doesn't sound like fun. Maybe osteopathy/cranial osteopathy might help? I had SPD in my first pregnancy (different, I know, but still hip pain) and that helped. I also wrapped a piece of jersey tightly around my hips to sort of hold them in and support them for much of the end of the pregnancy. I think something similar but slightly more high tech is available on the NHS too to support the hips under the growing pressure.

Josie, good luck for your GSH. I like your theory and am glad you're sounding full of fighting spirit again.

Pocket how are you? Has it started to sink in yet?

AFM, oh dear, moan, moan, moan! I'm full of a cold and feeling knackered due to a sleepless night because of poor DS's chicken pox and accompanying nausea, high temperature and delirium. All sightly scary. He's better today but no one's had much energy so we've mainly been lying around watching TV. I have googled myself crazy and have read so much conflicting advice I feel slightly cross eyed Confused. No news back from clinic yet and I am really wondering how I'm going to last until next Tuesday when my next scan is. That's a whole week away. Aaarghhh.

And breathe.......Smile

teds wow GrinGrinGrinGrin doubley excellent news that's fab. I think mr teds was being festive using the 'holy' word Wink

Pocket1 · 13/12/2011 22:14

Scrummy and Bugsy how are you - managing to stay reasonably relaxed and soak up some Christmas movies!?!

Lucy poor DS with his chicken pox and poor you too. Tuesday will be here before you know it, you'll get the all clear, DS will be his normal cheeky self (assuming he is normally cheeky Xmas Wink) and you can focus on Christmas!

Josie great that you've got the HSG so soon. Will you still get the results before Christmas? Stay positive and see this as a means to finding out what's next for you and getting that BFP!

Beginnings you're half way there, what a milestone. Hope the physio helps - I've seen an osteopath before for various aches and pains and its amazing what they can do!

Hope you enjoyed the Christmas party wellerbabe I love the sound of those boots. I've got my work 'do' on Wednesday evening - still trying to work out a plausible excuse for a lush like me not to be drinking Wine

Kezia poor you being so poorly. Are you feeling any better? Well done on getting a new MW, although it?s a bit of a drive, it'll be comforting to have the attention you need (and deserve) and you're getting more appointments which is great.

Lissy sorry about the glucose reading but its its great to know you'll get extra attention. How is your neighbour/legal action coming along - when do you think that will take effect?

Wow Teds twins, how totally and utterly amazing. One of my best friends has twin boys, they're toddlers now, and they are gorgeous. Did you get a scan pic of them both? Is DP stil in shock?

Thanks for all your kind wishes, I am still getting my head round it all. Its such early days and a long road ahead. I've been to clinic today and picked up a tonne more meds to last me till my 7 week scan in early Jan - which feels unbelievaly soon!

Sorry, meant to add hello to all the other lovely ladies Xmas BiscuitXmas Biscuit

wellerbabe · 13/12/2011 22:21

Lucy I was so spaced out I got the wrong day on my post....party is tomorrow and silver boots are looking great Smile

lucylookout · 14/12/2011 16:42

Just a quick update from me, I just got my immune level results back and some of the levels are quite high. I need to go back in for another expensive IVIG on Friday, which is a bit gutting because of the money, but is good because maybe the raised levels are why the bean ( named jeanie for now) didn't grow so much. I also get another scan before the IVIG so don't have to wait til Tuesday after all, so all in all feels quite positive.

OP posts:
lucylookout · 14/12/2011 16:44

I mean, the IVIG will bring levels down and then jeanie the bean will have my body on it's side again and will be able to start growing at a better rate.
