Ha ha, nothing prepares you for boobs after birth - you literally wake up one morning looking like Jordan - they stick out, are rock hard and MASSIVE!! DH wanted a photo for comedy purposes - I was not amused Grin

I now have to commence SWI and have blood tests at the end of the month to check that I ovulated.

Worm Emergency sausage roll?!?! fantastic - and glad you ahve your scan date now...

mrsb33 · 17/06/2011 19:35

Hi ladies, just running in to say be big thanks to koolforkats!!! Received your very early bday gift[ha ha] today, thank you so much! I'm so excited about starting to use it! Offically on day 3 of my cycle so not sure if I can or not! Tell you what though ladies, my cycle is now back to its 28 days but gods its heavy! I recon there's something deeper going on, so going to see if I can see the doctor next week.
Waves to all xx

Hi-di-hiGrin

Just a quickie to say mrsb, you're so welcome! I can't quite remember but am pretty sure that you can start this cycle....I think you press and hold the 'm' button and wait until it goes to 3 (ie your cycle day). Best check the instructions tho Smile and GOOD LUCK!

Thanks all for the lovely welcome back...I was just planning to pop my head round the door but might hang around if that's ok . I know I'm doing down the Petrie dish/champagne and canapés/Barry White route but I guess I'm still very much ttc and if it works I'll inevitably be feeling wobbly and may need some hand holding Blush.

Star82 · 18/06/2011 05:21

Yes, I'll call in the morning to see if I can get in for a scan and will report back if I do get seen.

sparkly, I'm a 34dd/e usually and when my milk came in I had a 36 g at one point. During the pregnant I went up a couple of cupsizes. I'm a 10-12 and pretty broadshouldered as well due to a lot of competitive swimming when I was younger so I look a sight once they start swelling. I'm a real introverted triangle as my hips are quite narrow too. Got to say though, wombat, I've never worn maternity bras, just continued to wear my trusty Freya bras. I had s nursing bra but never felt properly supported and it didn't give a nice shape so I went back to wearing my normal bras even though I was feeding.

Star82 · 18/06/2011 05:22

*pregnancy!!!

wellieboots · 18/06/2011 07:53

Happy weekend Ladies!!

Hope everyone has a great one, we went cheekily looking at houses today - not going to buy any, not for a while anyway.....but it's nice to look! I kept imagining an "us" in the future with our kids in a house ......wistful look........

DD is Monday Sad but I think I'll be OK, we've got so much going on in terms of applying for jobs and stuff I don't think I've thought about it as much as I thought I would - was a bit hard talking to the family on skype this morning and DSIL is starting to show a bit and it's odd that it's her and not me - if you know what I mean, not in a bad way.....and one of my bridesmaids is due on 1 July which will also be a bit hard as she knows about the mc - she is in NZ so didn't have a 12 wk scan Confused? and so told us when she was about 9 wks so we figured we'd better tell her! Told her the day before our scan Sad

SWI with a vengeance this weekend if we can keep it up - spotted some EWCM yesterday Grin - wish me luck!

Damn, just lost a big catch up!

Hope things went ok with boss harassed
yellow well done at your subterfuge with the rellies - but then I guess that's your specialist subject working at MI6 and all! Wink
welcome back star and good luck with the CBFM mrsb - you're fine to use it as long as you set it CD5 at the latest
Yay for scan date worm - that has gone quickly!

Waves to everyone else!

Wormshuffler · 18/06/2011 08:14

Hi Ladies Continental this morning, salami's etc, dig in!
wellie Sorry about DD looming, treat yourself to something nice and not baby related! A wine fuelled SWI too!
koolforkats what a lovely thing to do passing on your moniter, have an extra croissant!
Fingers crossed about the scan star and I am avidely awaiting holiday stories!
So today is my DD, and I feel ok to be honest, much easier though with Me being PG to be honest, last night my tummy was HUGE!! and I started to get into a bit of a flap about twins! Mentioned it to DH who went ashen! It's gone down a bit this morning though, back to looking fat rather than PG, did anyone see Claudia Winkleman on telly last night? She looked enormous!! Feeling quite sick this morning, and had to waste 2 pregnecare as I couldn't get them down and had forgotten it yesterday, eventually got a folic acid down. I have been doing alot of reading about the anti-natal testing, I never even gave it a thought with My DCs but am now in quite a flap.

yellowtomato · 18/06/2011 09:16

Bonjour ladies

worm the anti natal testing makes me panic too as I can automatically have combined nuchal and blood test cos of my age, trying not to think about it as not got anywhere near that far before.

mrsb33 hope you get to see s sympathetic dr and Emma good luck on the swi.

kool please do hang around everyone here is good at hand holding Smile

Family meal went well although tum did swell to uncomfortable proportions!

Off home tomorrow am!

Sparklywine · 18/06/2011 10:20

Aw, hey Worm, look after yourself today, and thanks for breakfast! You could always plant something nice for bubs, a rose for your patio containers, or something nice down in that forgotten bottom acre Grin If size was anything to go by I'd be having triplets; did quite fancy twins but there is definitely only one in there.
My nuchal and blood tests came back 'low risk', no more detail than that. I decided to have it done as no risk to Monts, and wanted to be armed if it was high risk, so we could prepare differently just incase. I am hoping that the suspected difference of bubs manifests itself in adorabe eccentricty and unruly hair but one never knows.
Hope you're having a lovely time Yellow, I'm envious of your lovely mini-break.
Kool, you're a sweetheart. A bfp is getting overdue ladies.....Grin
Hi to everyone else and good luck with the ewcm and swi'ing. I'm off out into the garden for some light pruning duties but am already tempted to create a den!
Hope Monday is ok for you Wellie, we'll be here x

wombatinwaiting · 18/06/2011 10:26

Busy, busy on here! Good to see you back kool and do please hang around as often as you want - I don't really think you count as a peeping tom lurker.

Yay for the fertility monitor mrsb - will be interesting to hear how you get on and let us know what the doc says too - I find it helpful to go in with a list of questions as docs always send me into a bit of a flap and I forget half the things I wanted to talk about....

Big hugs to wellie - sounds like it's a bit tough with friends and rellies updiffed around you. I think it was mrsb did a lovely gesture of releasing a balloon on her DD. House hunting sounds fun - what's the property market like in Sydney?

Hugs too for worm on your DD and pleased to hear that the sickness is still with you and yay for 5th July scan date. Everyone feels differently about the ante-natal tests and it's very much a personal choice - we definitely wanted to know and were amazed by the accuracy of the risk factor that you get when you have the nuchal combined with the blood tests. What does DH think? ooh - we don't have any twins on this thread so could be exciting....!

Thanks (I think!) for the warning on the boobage emma - not looking forward to that one much..... good luck with the SWI and it will be interesting to hear your ovulation results.

He he sparkly on the babelicious comment -I think I need to post a profile pic to dispel that rumour! Am with you on the monoboob look with the sports bras - when I was rooting through the lingerie yesterday I came across some old ones from when I was bigger and delighted to know that they fit a lot more comfortably.

Another big fan of freya bras here star so good to know I can keep wearing those ones. Can't get them here unfortunately so I tend to stock up at bravissimo and house of fraser when I'm back in the UK and end up spending about as much on them and knickers as the flight ticket! Blush. Good luck with the scan if you do get it. How much longer are you away for?

Gosh yellow - I feel for you in that meeting..... (love sparkly's image of you proffering biscuits to the big MI6 cheeses!) - can you have stuff in your handbag to scoff during loo breaks.... glad you had a nice family meal and that you're still feeling a bit sick.

Not much to report from this side other than shopping for some new bits and bobs for the new place. Do you know how hard it is to get a dressing table where you can put your legs underneath? Don't know if it's a Dubai thing or not..... our current place has a built in one but all the new dressing tables are just drawers with a mirror on top.... how is a girl supposed to get comfy to do her hair and make up....? I prob spend 10 mins max on both each morning but I do like to be comfortable doing it. Anyone else had this issue?! Lordy - listen to me whingeing on about this when there's so much else going on in the world Blush.....

wellieboots · 18/06/2011 14:35

Just popping on before bed to send dd hugs to ((((worm)))) - hope you get through it ok, thinking of you

we're going to let off a helium balloon on Monday and I'm going to tie a wee note to Harry (that was bump's name, for some reason!) to the balloon and let it go - feel like we need to mark it in some way

thanks ladies - DH and I have been out to dinner and made our way through a bottle of wine (think I had most of it Grin) and I am feeling all lovey dovey - huge hugs and sloppy kisses to the lot of you, you are amazing and I don't know what I would do without you

yellowtomato · 18/06/2011 18:03

ahhhh wellie right back atcha! You may wear the lush crown Grin

Sounds like a lovely plan for Monday, will be thinking of you then.

Sparklywine · 19/06/2011 09:45

Aw, the helium balloon is a lovely idea Wellie. Thanks for the sloppy kisses Grin
Popped on to research another symptom to add to the list! Lat night turning over in bed I got a searingly sharp pain through my.....no good at biology, higher than pelvis, lower than stomach. The womby area Grin I went 'ow' out loud and turned to dh for comfort, forgetting that he was up late watching some weird porn arty film and tucking into the wine cellar stash (note, we don't actually have a wine cellar, unlike Worm) I don't think it's the start of spd, that's the only thing that's happened thus far and I have no issues opening my legs Grin. It seemed quite muscular, or at least denoted a lack of muscles! Painful.
Any ideas anyone?
I'll pop the kettle on, granary toast and bonne maman strawberry conserve anyone?

Wormshuffler · 19/06/2011 16:34

Ah it's quiet around here today! in fact the whole of mumsnet is like a ghost town! all those Mummies looking after the daddy's for fathers day.
I won't be able to give DH his usual fathers day treat Shock [boak] Wink I can't even brush my teeth.....

I have that pulled a muscle type feeling loads sparkly it's apparently to do with the stretching and muscles weakened by hormones.

Thanks for the hugs wellie it wasn't too bad to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed that all the flowers have finished on the rose bush I planted to remember by, I had planned to bring some in the house on the day, never mind......

I'm definately having all the anti-natal tests, was just agonising over the "what if there is a high risk" decision, I think I would first pay for a private more detailed scan, and then if that proved in-conclusive I would have the amnio/cvs, I know this is an emotive subject though for some.

Chinese for tea.............hope I can stomach it!

emmaandthestar · 19/06/2011 17:36

it's really quiet here!!
Luckily salivia is no good for sperm so DH doesn't expect too much of that at moment fathers day or not!! :o

Fajitas for dinner tonight - we have so much left over roast chicken... anyone want one? Grab a wrap and help yourself to sour cream, home made guacamole and chillis!

Worm I agree, I would go for all the tests and further tests if they were in-conclusive but I have friends who were really against it so it's a very personal choice...

Wellie agree - the balloon is a lovely idea, I think we may do the same.

yellowtomato · 19/06/2011 19:44

Bonsoir, I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is v quiet today here isn't it?

I like going away but I always like coming home. I'm going to be v busy over the next few days at work so will probably not even be able to check much never mind post..I hate it when work gets in the way of MN.

No idea about your pain sparkly I'm still just on tiredness and sickness.

Worm I think I'd have all the tests too.....but no idea what I'd do with negative results.....such a difficult thing to think about in abstract.

Where's wombat she should be at work today and have plenty of time to MN!

I'm off to have my tea and then a very early night to prepare for the week ahead!

Big hugs all round

yellowtomato · 20/06/2011 06:45

Arghhh need a moan! Went to bed at 10 last night feeling sick, woke at 4.30 as needed to wee and also felt sick. It only helped sickness to lay on tum but that hurt boobs so couldn't get back to sleep. Am in bed eating crackers trying not to feel sick. How am I going to get through this very busy day where I won't get home until 10pm? Sad

Sorry for the me, me, me

Wormshuffler · 20/06/2011 07:03

10pm ooooooooh that's nasty!, Moan away me dear, it won't make you feel any better but it's what this place is for , have a sugery Brew and some salt and vinegar crisps.
Where is wombat >
Star any news on that next scan? are you home yet?
How is everyone else?

harassedinherpants · 20/06/2011 09:07

Morning!

God what a busy weekend I've had....in work for a rest today. I'm shattered too, which means I feel sick. Plus, I still need to tell my boss!

wellie hugs for today lovely, thinking of you and dh x

yellow the only way I could get through when the ms was really bad was by eating constantly, or having a really nice drink. Have you tried Coke? The odd one won't hurt.

sparkly that's too high for spd, most prob related to stretching. Has your bumped "popped" yet?? I had a weird one on Friday that if I hadn't known better felt like a good baby kick just under my ribs.

star any scan news??

worm you need some kiddies toothpaste, that's my top tip!! I've been using it since I got my bfp.

Who was talking about bras? I've never bought a maternity bra and don't intend to start now. I'll get some nursing bras closer to the time, last time I got some lovely ones from La Redoute (I think).

Dh and I have started planning what we need to buy. Early I know, but need to get the money sorted as soon as so we can put some by for those and get saving for when I'm on ML as the cut in pay will cripple us tbh as I earn more than him generally!!

Star82 · 20/06/2011 09:20

Hiya. Just landed earlier on. Stuck on M25 at mo. Was unable to get a scan on sat as no one picked up when I called so assumed she hasn't got it covered whilst she's away. Will organise one this week and let you all know. Soooo tired!!! X

wombatinwaiting · 20/06/2011 10:19

Bonjourno tutti! (have come over all Italian for some reason.... Hmm )

Firstly, big hugs for wellie, mrwellie and harrybump today - hope you are doing ok and you got to release your balloon - thinking of you x

Welcome back yellow - but bugger re: 4am wake up call.... really hope today goes as ok as it can. Is it really going to be 10pm? At least a busy week will distract you from Friday's scan.... are you thinking about it much or trying not to?

How did it go with telling your boss harassed?

Thanks for fajitas emma - are you post SWI now? And when are your bloods being taken to check ov?

"Father's day treat" made me chuckle worm - it could only be you or mrsb coming up with something like that....!

Definitely getting the searing pains in womby area sparkly - to the sides, not at the front, although did seem to get one at the top of the bulge yesterday - I'm saying bulge as it really isn't that attractive right now, especially when I was doing a shoulder stand at yoga yesterday and it seemed to flubber its way down to meet my boobs Shock Blush and because your head is bent towards it, there is no avoiding looking at it full-on as if I'd closed my eyes, I'd have fallen over! Keep hoping for some fluttery feelings that they promise you from 18 weeks (although to be fair, I'm only 17+4 today.....)

Now where is marathon? You've been very quiet of late - hope all is ok, perhaps you're mid SWI and too busy to post Wink

And what about ochaye - haven't heard hide nor hair of the lovely Scottish lady of late - if you are lurking, hello!

Good to have you back star although sorry you couldn't get your scan while you were out there and I hope it didn't impact on your hols too much. Will you be able to get one quite quickly here?

Hello and apols to anyone I've missed- big waves all round!

MarathonMama · 20/06/2011 14:26

Hello all, sorry Wombat I've been lurking I'm afraid, nothing exciting to report. We have just started SWI although DH is going away on CDs 14, 15 & 16 so the smep is out of the window. I suppose that will pretty much right off this month given that I will probably ov around that time. Grrrr!

Emma is saliva bad for sperm? Really??

Wellie thinking of you. We went to a funeral last week where they let off balloons with messages from the children attached, it was so lovely and poignant.

Happy Monday(s) all!

Wormshuffler · 21/06/2011 08:15

Morning Ladies
Hi yellow if you are lurking, I hope you are coping ok with your tough week at work, and not feeling so ill (but still a little bit for reassurance). I was thinking, if you do end up cracking and having to tell someone at work what is happening, it would be a very brave HR dept that would not keep a PG employee on after their trial period.
wellie hope yesterday went ok for you and dh, I was thinking aout you.
marathon you will just have to make sure dh has you full up before he goes away!!
Thanks for the tip harassed although it is the having the toothbrush in my mouth that makes me gag, in fact if there is a gust of wind that makes me gag!!
mrsb have you been to the GP yet?
Am very Envy at you being able to do a shoulder stand wombat!

So SIL has her 20 week scan today, where she is going to find out the sex etc, I am beginning to feel really awkward about not telling her about our PG, She is so excited, and I am worried that our being PG will , I don;t know how to explain it, make her less excited about her own? What do you reckon?

On to me..... I am so sick of eating!! feels like such a chore! yesterday I ate........ham and cheese toastie 6am. crunchie nut cornflakes 8am. 2 packs of crisps 10am. a sausage roll 11.30am. cone of chips 1.30pm. packet of crisps 4pm, pasta with tomato and basil 5.30pm. left over noodles 7pm. OMG it sounds even more now I have written it down!! I am going to be enormous !!!!

harassedinherpants · 21/06/2011 09:35

Morning!

Worm I'm the same with food, it's pretty constant! I have a very def belly and it's not all baby even though the tummy muscles aren't what they were.... With dd though I changed my eating habits mid-preg and craved fruit. Hoping this will be the same! If you don't want to tell sil then don't, but equally if you do then do. You're not responsible for her happiness iykwim, especially after what you've been through.

marathon yup, saliva is bad for sperm! Wrong ph or something. What a fab excuse Grin!

yellow hope the mega stressful week is going ok, and the ms is behaving.

wombat DO NOT get stressed out if you don't get fluttery feelings at 18 weeks, it can be a lot later in first pregs.

wellie you ok?? Was thinking of you and dh yesterday.

Dd has gone on her school trip today so she's been mega excited, and I'll spend the day worrying.... she's the baby of the class and isn't 5 until next month.

Had a few words with dh first thing unfortunately. For such a lovely, kind and helpful bloke he's such an arsehole in the mornings!!!! He had to text me yesterday to apologise for being so grumpy, and I'm waiting for another one now. The way he spoke to dd this morning was horrible, but you just can't tell him in the morning's without it being a bit of an arguement. It only stopped because I told he was a grumpy git and I wasn't arguing with him.....Angry.

wombatinwaiting · 21/06/2011 13:44

No need to apologise for lurking marathon - just really wanted to make sure that you were ok. How grrrr re: DH being away then.... as worm says, a good bit of topping up before and straight on to it as soon as he walks back in the door may do the trick..... yellow was having a terrible couple of months of it with both her and DP being away with work at all the wrong times but they got there in the end! Re: the saliva, it works with both your salivas, if you see what I'm getting at, but according to what I've read, a little bit won't actually make any difference.....

If the eating is keeping away the sickness harassed and worm then keep at it! I know it's def what helped me through the first trimester and even now, I can't get enough potatoes Blush

I would imagine your SIL will actually be quite pleased about your pg worm as she will be reaching each milestone before you and so it might actually make her feel more important IYKWIM, particularly as she's that much younger from memory. Who knows, it may also make her think twice about lighting up in front of you! Harassed is also spot on in that you're not responsible for her happiness.

If you are lurking yellow then I hope the week from hell is not proving too awful and you made it through the bigwig meeting without throwing up on the boardroom table Grin

And yes mrsb - have you made your appointment with the GP yet?

Not a lot to report from here, just tapping my fingers impatiently for these kicks - thanks for helping to manage my expectations though harassed!

Waves to all! x
