Who's in?

OP posts:
Jebel · 07/06/2011 08:22

Ah can I join as I have been doing so much bonking these last days that I can't walk straight and I am most definitely pregnant. Am supposed to be at work but 'worked from home' this morning for a bit of extra action.

Aubergine have spent a long time with frustrations of DH getting stage fright. Finally got him to go to the doctor and he takes this splendid little pill now with the wonderfully coy name 'snafi'. Well, snafi is my newest bestest friend and DH, while not bonking like a teenager, is able to go the distance several days in a row. Do not live in the green and pleasant lands of England but am sure similar is available, but appreciate getting DH to the doctor is the hardest (sorry) part. Drug apparently doesn't affect quality of sperm at all.

allhailtheaubergine · 07/06/2011 10:40

Snafi eh? Sounds cute and friendly.

What exactly does it do? Which specific part of the process does it assist with?

I have terrible skin suddenly - like, 12 zits overnight. Can I claim that as a pregnancy symptom? It's very unusual for me.

I love the twisted ankle being a symptom, LOVE IT Grin

Day 4 of Month 1 of the SDBC. In two days I will be ordered to wee on a stick. Soon after that I will be pregnant.

allhailtheaubergine · 07/06/2011 11:14

Aries do you have the shortest 2ww ever? It only ordered you to boink a couple of days ago and you're weeing on a stick in a couple of days time?

OP posts:
shouldbeelswhere · 07/06/2011 11:23

We tried everyday for months or was it years (maybe just felt that way) - totally exhausted and fed up with sex, too many miscarriages to remember and dreadful time but now have one boy and one girl so don't give up...well yes actually give up, that's when it'll happen!!!!!!!!:)

Ariesgirl · 07/06/2011 12:33

No no no no noooooo! A stick that says if you are approaching SechsTime or not! A Special Computer Stick

I have to get the hang of this CBFM lark on Month 1, so it tells you to POAS from day 6 onwards for about 10 days or so. I foresee a very expensive summer ahead of me, as each Special Computer Stick costs a lot. Desperate 36 year old women like me are being exploited.

But it doesn't matter, because I will only have to do it for one month, won't I? Won't I? Won't I everyone?

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 07/06/2011 12:34

Love the name 'snafi'. Both cute and fun! Grin

aubergine bad skin is definitely a symptom! So is amazingly good skin... in case you were wondering.

Hi shouldbe. I am glad it worked out for you. I am ttc my first. I have been trying for 18 months with only a miscarriage to show for it (and it took me nine months just to manage that) and I know that this is sod all compared to some of the people on these boards. I have tried temping, charting, stressing, not stressing, just shagging whenever, and shagging when told by smiley faces on sticks. I have tried both giving up and then not giving up again.

Needless to say none of this has worked yet for me. I am genuinely really, really happy for you that you have two much wanted and loved children after what was clearly a difficult time. But, if one more person tells me to relax and just stop trying and it will happen I will not be held responsible for my actions....just so you know....

shouldbeelswhere · 07/06/2011 12:52

I remember it well...sorry... I don't know how old you are but I was 40 when I had my last, so don't give up hoping. I remember how difficult it is when you see what seems to be everyone except you pregnant and I also remember meeting people who were having their first at 45! wishing you all well and pregnant this month. Was trying to give a bit of light at the end of this tunnel that's all...

LoveInAColdClimate · 07/06/2011 13:05

Ariesgirl - I have bought a CBFM which I will be using for the first time next month (well, obviously I won't as am already pregnant, but you know, just in case). Am dreading the expensive sticks. Do you really need to start at day 6? Ouch - I didn't ovulate until day 20 this month! Do you use Fertility Friend as well? That has an "OPK Optimiser" facility which tells you when to start weeing on sticks - wonder if also applies to CBFM? If not, I have an expensive month ahead of me! At least is FMU with CBFM so I won't have the temptation to use 6 sticks a day just in case...

Aubergine - bad skin sounds like a fab symptom. Very exciting! My sore boobs are less sore today but my nipples feel tingly. I am hoping my heroic doses of vitamin B6 at least get me to a decent luteal phase length this month, even if I'm not pregnant (which of course I am). Had some blood tests this morning so at lest feel pro-active. I wish I could stop symptom spotting - every month I think "oooooh, I feel sick/am weeing loads/have spots/have sore boobs/have headache/have-any-other-slight-symptom-you-can-think-of, I must be pregnant" then am so disappointed when AF arrives. I wish I could just ignore it for two weeks, wait to be late, then test. Instead, I know that once again I will test too early, be disappointed, then get AF and be upset. Although this month will of course be different as we are all pregnant Grin.

Anyone else testing on Friday or Saturday? I will only be 10DPO on Friday so really shouldn't, but might have to try an internet cheapie 10mlu anyway...

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssseeeeeeee just let me be pregnant so I don't have to go through it all again next month.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 07/06/2011 13:10

Sorry shouldbe. I didn't mean to be harsh...though I know it was a bit. As I am sure you remember from when you were ttc (are you ttc at the moment or are you just hanging about the ttc threads?) having people tell you how they now have lovely kids and it will happen for you if you just relax can be a little bit...um...trying even when you know they mean well. Sad

Your encouragement is appreciated though and I know it will happen eventually, I am still pretty young and have years and years and years to just keep trying [sigh]. If i had given up hoping I wouldn't be here, hanging out on the ttc boards with all these lovely definitely pregnant or soon to be pregnant peeps.

It's just that i have a sore foot and am a bit fed up with the whole ttc business at the moment. I am probably just being oversensitive and moody due to being so definitely pregnant this month...right Grin

shouldbeelswhere · 07/06/2011 13:18

No, prob. just new to mumsnet and having a look around, this one caught my eye as we'd had such a problem. I'm sure you're pregnant. Good luck everyone and hope your foot's soon better.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 07/06/2011 13:18

Crossed posts with aries. I think that buying something expensive has to be a sure way of ensuring pregnancy.

I will maybe be testing saturday or sunday if I am feeling brave enough and obviously haven't started AF, though of course there is no chance of that. Wink

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 07/06/2011 13:21

Oh no! I have been mean at a new person! [hangs head in shame and horror]

herethereandeverywhere · 07/06/2011 13:33

Hi preggos! I'll be 10/11 DPO Saturday and Sunday so might cave in and test if I think it's worth it (usually get signs of AF and know there's no point wasting money weeing on a stick) - well I'm definitely pregnant anyway so might skip the testing and go straight to the GP to choose which hospital I'm giving birth in only joking

On the symptom front: very emotional yesterday (I cried at an AIBU thread about a woman's wedding anniversary Blush) and felt a bit dizzy. No symptoms today except a bit tired, think in my condition I should go ad have a quick nap.

Ariesgirl · 07/06/2011 13:42

I think you only have to POAS for the first month until it gauges your cycle length. If you are a tardy ovver and don't lay an egg until day 20 usually then it won't ask you to do so until later on. If you are an average-ovver then I think day 8 or so is what's normal and if it finds you are a premature ovver then maybe from day 6 or so?

Hark at me going on like an expert when I only turned the damn thing on for the first time four days ago :) Though of course I won't need it after this month.

hellotreeshellosky · 07/06/2011 16:26

Hello definitely besprogged ladies. May I join this optimistic thread? I have been TTC #2 unofficially for several months, started the dreary official business this month. I have remembered to do temp twice. I have almost entirely forgotten my folic acid. I have done my OPKs in the morning (amateur!) and got nothing. I have partaken in enthusiastic sexing from day 10-20 (longish not very regular cycles) and been imagining noticing symptoms for the past few days.

And now on CD25 I have got two lines on my OPK. 25!! I have already warned DH he is required to perform tonight. I feel very businesslike about it. Rats are going to be smacked.

I do hang about on other bits of MN but I have a new name for here. I'm sure the people who know who I am in RL don't need to know when I ovulate.

InTheSunshine · 07/06/2011 16:59

Grin at tardy ovver Rie. If when you get diffed this month please cam I buy Shag Dictator from you?

Ariesgirl · 07/06/2011 17:02

I would love to give it to you SunnyD, but I would have to check with the origiBESH who gave it to me. I'm sure she would love for me to pass it on to a fellow barren almost-preggo. Keepin' it real etc...

BlooferLady · 07/06/2011 17:09

Lurking with half-assed intent here.
Bastard studies are driving me to the depths of Essex to seek respite at my parents' house, where there will be no telly and no housework to do and all will be peace and order and I can get Things Done. This also means I shall not see the OM during peak shag-time .

However I am on a promise today that I'll get my rat smacked tonight, so long as he doesn't have a repeat of yesterday's shift, which included an hour-long vigil beside a corpse, poor sod.

Meanwhile can I say you all look absolutely blooming and radiant.

BlooferLady · 07/06/2011 17:09

And what's this BESH bollocks you're on about Aries

allhailtheaubergine · 07/06/2011 17:12

I think I get to test on about the 20th. Anyone else around then?

OP posts:
allhailtheaubergine · 07/06/2011 17:13

And by 'test' of of course mean confirm.

I am scared of BESH. You lot speak in tongues.

OP posts:
BlooferLady · 07/06/2011 17:16

Actually let's not talk about it in case someone ie me get the sads.

I shalln't be confirming until about the 26 AllHail, but I will of course be poised with the Bolly on the 20th...

Hey, does anyone else have a stupidly short cycle? I average about 25 days. Given this means I effectively have one extra period a year and started the blighters at 10, I reckon this'll see me reaching menopause just before Christmas. Which is obviously fine as I'll be doubly up the spout with twins by then.

allhailtheaubergine · 07/06/2011 17:31

Don't get the sads Bloof old chap.

How do you have a short cycle when you have a long luteal phase? I have no idea what a luteal phase is but have noticed you mention it once or twice.

OP posts:
BlooferLady · 07/06/2011 17:36

I don't think I have a long luteal phase - I think mine's depressingly short sadly! (I gather it's the bit between ovulation and blobbulation). I think short LPs are a problem cos it means even if you do manage to fertilize your innards shed before it has a chance to snuggle in . When I first started with this in Jan 2010, my cycle went haywire lemme tell you, and I bled on and off almost from ovulation through to my period, hence much testage to see if I was having mmcs (I am A-OK, so no idea what the hell that was all about).

Ho hum. as i have been moved to remark before, how the hell did we all get here?!

Except of course I shall get pregnant this month, so it's all a moot point.
