squirrel sounds like you have gone somewhere nice for Xmas and New Year? I know I wondered about that but it becomes catch 22 - need to use the product obviously but to remove and then take temp will then distort reading as you have to get up, go to bathroom do what you have to do and then temp...........

May have a google and see what comes up!!!! Xmas Grin

CareBear1 · 04/01/2012 22:36

hello fellow charters, how are you all? Anyone else getting strange chart readings at the moment? Am wondering if its the effects of christmas? My temps are really high, like as high as the luteal phase of last month. I did take ginseng for a while last week but stopped in case that was it.

Happy new year to you all.

I am just having weird cycles in general. Ovulated on day 9 this month!

Lexie1970 · 07/01/2012 19:29

Hi carebear you are a couple of days behind me! I have no idea whether ginseng has any effect. Maybe you are due to ovulate hence the dip?

I have been on the flower essence 'She Oak' which is supposed to fine tune our system and I am on CD16 with not so much as a high on my CBFM - very weird and of course nothing to show on FF either!!

This thread is very quiet - where is everybody???

SilentMammoth · 07/01/2012 20:29

Hello everyone.
I am sort of new, though did belong to this thread, or a previous incarnation back in 2010. waves at digi, who won't have the faintest idea who I am as have name changed
I am ttc #5, AF has just come back after a nearly a year after having #4. Well, I say ttc but DH deployed at moment so that could be tricky, or give rise to a couple of awkward questions. OK, am keeping tabs on my cycle as we have 4 of the same gender and are going to ttc one of the opposite.
Lovely to meet you all.

FriendofDorothy · 07/01/2012 21:10

Welcome SM. Any advice on trying to get pregnant with number 1?!

Squirrel77 · 08/01/2012 04:59

[pokes head up from beach towel on the other side of the planet]

Hi all! Well, no BFP for me last month. I think the long haul travel messed with it all. Had a shorter LP than normal and period pains from hell. In a couple of days DH is heading back to the UK and I'm here working for another three weeks which means that we'll miss out on the fertile window this month, sooo annoying. Will try to SWI on his last day here (CD11), hoping that sperm will live until ovulation! Although both of us have been too inhibited to get it on so far on this trip as we are staying with family in a rustic shack with paper thin walls!

Started fanjo temping properly this month once AF departed, and interestingly the temps are consistently 0.1 degree higher than oral temp taking.

Happy new year!

SilentMammoth · 12/01/2012 21:47

Gosh, I had to go searching to find this thread, it had dropped right down. Hello FoD and Squirrel wherever you are sounds lovely! Sorry last month wasn't your month.

CareBear1 · 16/01/2012 10:12

Hi Everyone.

Lexie, I haven't heard of she-oak, i will have to google it. Just had a peak at your chart, looks like you're having a late ovulation this month, are you still SWI you must be exhausted!

Squirrel, how frustrating re the SWI and no BFP last month, better luck when you are both back on the same soil again. So do you mean you're getting consistently higher, but same pattern with fanjo as oral temping? so no more accuarate just higher? that is interesting.

Hi SM and FoD, have you posted the link to your charts? You may have done on previous pages.

Well this month it was all looking great for me from about day 10 to 19, loads of EWCM, nice clear looking ov, and we were on hols so able to do loads of SWI, then on day 19 and 20 had really bad gastro-stomach-bug, temps spiked really high and couldn't even keep water down at one point. So will have to wait and see what effect that has had. I'm sure some would say it wouldn't have had any effect but thinks its just as i'd got my hopes up everything was looking good.

Anyways, happy mondays all. x

Lexie1970 · 16/01/2012 10:29

Hi Carebear - well I am now CD 25 and nothing is being indicated anywhere - I really don't think I am ovulating this month tbh. Also just SWI when the urge arises rather than constantly so energy levels are fine - that is the thing with temping and using CBFM - there isn't the worry that you have missed your optimum time.......

I go to the docs on Wednesday to get blood results and discuss next steps.

Start of yet another week so have a good one everybody!

FriendofDorothy · 16/01/2012 13:29

I am out this month again. Feeling disappointed and sad and like it is never going to happen :(

SilentMammoth · 16/01/2012 22:17

Oh Friend, I'm really sorry. That's rubbish. Nothing makes it less rubbish.
How many months have you been ttc?

CareBear when are you going to test?

FriendofDorothy · 16/01/2012 22:35

We are going onto month 17 now.

Squirrel77 · 17/01/2012 05:13

Hi all

Sorry to hear about the return of Evil Aunt Flo, Dorothy (great new name by the way)

Carebear - my fanjo temping seems to make the chart less rocky than usual. Still up and down a bit.

No sign of ovulation so I think and lingering gizm from SWI a week ago has well and truly died off, damn.

Actually, not TTC this month has been good for my mental health. I am able to concentrate a lot better and work and am not thinking about it every waking minute! Poor DH is getting a rest as well Grin.

CareBear1 · 17/01/2012 18:33

Hi Dorothy, sorry to hear that, better luck next month. I'm sure its going to be perseverance that gets us there in the end. Treat yourself to something nice, you deserve it.

SM, generally i just wait for AF to show up rather than test as i hate the disappointment, which it always has done so far!

Squirrel, i know what you mean, we took oct and nov off and felt a lot more sane for it! Hopefully you'll have reknewed SWI vigour next month.

SilentMammoth · 17/01/2012 21:32

You clearly have nerves of steel CareBear ! What's your lp like? As far as I can tell (on cd5 of cycle 2 post birth of dd4), mine is truly pants, standing as it does at a measley eight days. Not willing to try supplements yet as am still bf.
Friend, how are you doing today?

SilentMammoth · 17/01/2012 21:34

Oh yes, and my temps are all over the place as am away with work at the moment so in a hotel Sun-Friday, which has central heating. Very nice, but my house doesn't, so have crazy saw-tooth thing going on with my chart.

Lexie1970 · 19/01/2012 12:00

Hello girls - hope you are doing ok?

AFM not great I am afraid. Had my docs appointment yesterday to discover my levels were the following:

FSH 74.7 with lab reference of 23 - 116

LH 33.8 with lab reference of 15.9 - 54

My only concern is that these bloods were drawn on CD13 and having read into this (desperately clutching at straws) bloods need to be done by CD3 for base reading.

I appear to be post menopausal at the grand age of 41 years and 8 months - devastated doesn't even adequately describe it. However after sobbing my heart out I rang the fertility clinic in Cambridge and I am booked in for AMH on Monday and have consultation on 16th March to see whether we are in with a chance of ever having baby #2.

This afternoon I am waiting for a call back from my GP as when I left I could barely think straight. I had bloods taken in May 2011 and all came back within normal range and no problems indicated - how on earth can I go from normal to post menopausal in just 6 months????

So that is me girls - when I think that I have held on to all my baby things - cots, prams, high chairs and of course all the baby clothes, it is making me tearful now thinking they may all have to go even though I have DP saying money is no object (within reason) and we need to explore every avenue.

x

Squirrel77 · 21/01/2012 02:11

Hi Lexie

So sorry to hear what you're going through. Afraid I can't offer any advice, but glad you are getting another test and have booked an an appointment.

Take care and let us know how you get on.

CareBear1 · 21/01/2012 09:48

Lexie, i don't really understand those levels, but that doesn't sound right does it to have a massive change in 6 months? Fingers crossed that is due to the day it was taken, good for you for going back to have it done again. Don't throw those things away just yet, maybe go for a second opinion? x

Lexie1970 · 25/01/2012 19:41

Hi

Went to clinic on Monday and had my AMH bloods done - will not know anything now until the appointment in March.

On a brighter note my old doctors surgery still had my notes on the system so they were able to fax them to my new surgery. Though they were on the high side of normal they were still normal which is a relief and at least current GP can look at these as we actually can now compare them.

I am still waiting for AF - had period like cramps over the weekend but nothing has appeared. I am just thinking last cycle I didn't ovulate and by keeping up the BBT I can track if anything is likely to happen this month.....

CareBear1 · 26/01/2012 09:44

Hi Lexie, ooh that's a long wait isn't it until March, are you not able to ring up to get the results any earlier? Good news about the normal results from the ones before, hopefully they can help you work out what's gone on and hopefully the last test was just an error.

How's everyone else doing?

Af got me again. Am now really torn between continuing with acupuncture / chinese medicine type approach or trying ivf again. So wanted it to happen without ivf but don't want to miss my chance with that either and know i'm lucky to get funding for it. I know no-one else can say anything but its our choice, but any thoughts??

Lexie1970 · 26/01/2012 09:57

I know carebear but in those 8 weeks until appointment it means I can try and lose some weight ab my BMI is over 30 and I know they will not consider any treatment with being overweight. However there was a very chunky lady in the waiting room and presumably she is being considered......

Looking at your chart for December - at least you are ovulating nicely and your CBFM confirms your charting - without meaning to pry too much, why are you having to go down the IVF route?

CareBear1 · 26/01/2012 10:44

ok, fair enough, i just know the waiting for results is so tough! Has your weight been stable for a while or has that changed in the last 6 months or so? Losing weight is hard, good luck. What's your plan are you going to do anything specific?

Only really because its been so long - we've been ttc 4.25 years now with zilchio bfp's. We had one round of ivf last may and good results but then it didn't stick. I started acupuncture and tcm type approach in August and i felt it was working my cycles, ewcm, spotting etc has all improved, but just feel a bit like don't know where to go from here. I'm 34 btw.
