Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage? There is plenty of support, hand holding and problem-shared-problem-halved going on over here. All welcome to join in.

Phew! My bean is ok! It was just some implantation bleeding which apparently they saw on the last scan. My little sweet pea even looks like a baby now with little arms and legs. Heart was fluttering away nicely. I'm so relieved. I might get some more spotting, but at least I know what it is. Thanks so much for your support everyone. I'm so glad I listened to pink and went straight to the walk in center. I'd still be freaking out otherwise.

Good luck Irene! I hope you feel as happy in a few hours as I am now.

wombatinwaiting · 18/04/2011 10:04

Yay ninunina - that's great news. What a relief for you. Smile

LaraMi · 18/04/2011 10:24

Brilliant news Ninunina - that must have been so reassuring!

Ditto ditto to pink! I have to say I am getting scan envy this week - no idea how I am supposed to wait a whole month....

Happy Monday to everyone and hope it is a happy week for you all

Blackkat · 18/04/2011 11:05

ninu great news, so relieved for you Smile

irene good luck for later on, x

to everyone else, thanks for all your good wishes about my dad, he's home from hospital so I'm back to work; office moves over the weekend so will have to play the weak and feeble woman if anything else needs shifting Grin

mattsmama · 18/04/2011 11:17

Ninu Great scan news - Smile

Irene - the best of luck for your scan this afternoon

Morning everyone else - hope you all had a good weekend in the sunshine Smile

Tunnocks - big whack with the haddock... stop it - you promised us all you wouldn't become obsessed with it! This is a slippery slope! Soon you will be carrying it around in your handbag to baby check in the loos at work!

Ninunina · 18/04/2011 11:50

Oh dear tunnocks I see an addiction building. I think you're going to have to set some rules with yourself to stop yourself from obsessing.

Can you limit yourself to once a week? That's what my SIL did and it was locked away the rest of the time :)

Nin ace news on the scan :)

LaraMi · 18/04/2011 12:10

Phew - as much as they can drive us mad, sometimes there is nothing like the straightforward outlook of our other halves to put things into perspective. I was asking my DH whether he thought my persistent hiccups are a sign of pg... his answer: "you've seen the heartbeat - what more of a bloody sign do you need?!" (I of course am obsessing about the heartbeat stopping, a MMC etc)

hotnspicyonions · 18/04/2011 12:36

Afternoon! I'm back from relatively sunny Turkey all refreshed. Managed to read 3 books whilst out there, very nice indeed.

Have just caught up with the news and was in tears at Knitters results. I have to say, that's exactly the decision I will make if it comes to it. I hope in RL you're getting all the love and support you need through this time. I was also really pleased to hear that you will be trying again soon. If at first you don't succeed and all that. My admiration goes out to you lovely lady. Your strength is a real inspiration to us all! Much love and

Tunnocks no longer my DD twin. We shall see on Wednesday when I finally have my scan. Pink it was only down to lack of funds that I have waited this long for one! Had we had some savings, they would have been used up by constant trips to peak at Bean! Anyway Tunnocks we are having a scan the same day at nearly the same time (mine's 10.35) so lots of virtual hand holding can be done. Huge kipper coming your way for doppler addiction though.

We're taking DS to the scan so he can find out officially that I'm PG. I think he already has some inkling but not for sure.

And all this talk of dusting of beanbags and removing reserved signs..... Whilst I was away, we drove past a field that was being ploughed and there were at least 10 STORKS in the newly ploughed dirt Grin That surely must be a sign of good things to come for some newbies on here.

Sorry I haven't got time to namecheck everyone, I'm off to meet a friend for lunch.
Good luck to all scanners, wibblers and doppler addicts this week. It's nice to be back :) xx

PinkFondantFancy · 18/04/2011 13:28

Nina fab news!!

blackkat glad to hear your dad is out of hospital.

tunnocksssssssssss you promised you only bought it in case you had a bleed!!! Gold star for your DH for hiding it! The midwife will do you a Doppler at your 16 week appointment so I reckon he should hide it until 17 weeks and then allow you a once per week fix as per what owly says Grin

lara my DH is like that too-they are so bloody sensible it drives me mad!

onions I'd forgotten you were on holiday, I was wondering where you were! Glad you had a good time.

dacha how's the coccyx healing up?

Am a bit worried about going back to work in a fortnight-I've just gone into London for my monthly blood tests, and the trip there and back has completely worn me out, goingto have to go to bed now.

MummyAbroad · 18/04/2011 14:02

nina so glad you got some reassurance, thats great news Smile

welcome back onions. Love the stork spotting Smile

pink get as much rest as you can now. A fortnight is a really long time, things (energy levels) could have changed a lot by then, but you will be a lot better off if you go in well rested.

teacake if not finding a heartbeat is freaking you out, go on the internet and search for "difficulty finding heartbeat with home doppler" I am sure you will find something nice and reassuring that tells you how hard it can be to find it, and that its pretty common.

not much news here, except that I had nightmares for 4 days in a row, then the next night I drank some herbal tea that is supposed to be good for insomnia, slept like a baby and didnt remember any dreams, then the following night forgot to drink it and was back to the nightmaresHmm

OP posts:
PinkFondantFancy · 18/04/2011 14:25

oh teacakes also, if it's any reassurance, owly will be able to tell you about how the owlet specialises in hiding from the MW's doppler....

Thanks mummya I will try, MW reckons I should be feeling much better in a couple of weeks too. Glad you've found a way round the nightmares, I had some proper horrible ones the last couple of days - DH says I've been crying in my sleep :(

owlbooty · 18/04/2011 14:40

Hehehehe. I actually had a doppler fix today as was my 25 week GP appt. Owlet is now officially too big to dodge the doppler, and so the doctor got him first time. This is at 24 + 1 weeks, so it's taken this long for this to happen :)

I did try once with my SIL's home doppler at about 16 weeks a day or two after my MW appt (the only time I dared try it without mentalling) - only found him for a split second then absolutely nothing more. Hence my doppler aversion :)

Welcome back onions , holiday sounds fab. Can't wait for mine next week!

Lara Tis very true. I rely on Mr Boots to inject some much needed perspective and sanity when I am mentalling away. Grin

Hope the lovely scanning people are okay today and that there is good news all round :)

IreneHeron · 18/04/2011 15:24

Ok everyone, I'm back from my scan with some lovely US pictures of the wriggly little baby. So one less thing to worry about, now it is just the nuchal results to stress over. hotnspicy it is good to hear you'd do the same as Knitter. I think I would too but it has been on my mind.

Nin glad you had good results too.

Irene so pleased all went well, loved the fact that Brian enabled an extra week Grin Grin

Proper catch up later..
