Hi really useful. (great name!) Welcome, sorry you have to be here but there's lots of support on here. I hope it goes well tomorrow x

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does the magpie thing, I'm obsessed, much to my dh's amusement! if I see one I get really worried, but literally minutes after my mc medication worked I saw 2 which made me feel better, mad as that sounds!

cep · 09/03/2011 17:54

hands up those who still do the salute and say byebye colonel magpie.

Blackkat · 09/03/2011 18:01

[need a nutter emoticon]

cep · 09/03/2011 18:06

oh thank goodness was starting to worry then. i wonder how many different sayings there are.

Hils74 · 09/03/2011 18:13

I have to say "Morning My Magpie, how's your wife and family?" while saluting, DP thinks I'm odd :)

really I'm so, so sorry to hear your news, I'm going through my second consecutive PUL at the moment. My hcg levels are lower this time so they are just monitoring (they are hovering very low around 100), the last time they were over 1000. Hope things go alright tomorrow.

meliesmummy · 09/03/2011 18:21

Phew! Glad I'm not the only magpie watcher! Altho I don't salute, just hunt franctically if I only see 1!

cep · 09/03/2011 18:24

Oooh a carribean cruise. Envy i'm glad it didn't ruin your holiday. not hardfaced everyone has to deal in their own way and at least being on holiday gave you things to do. (plus you could have some cocktails)

Reallyusefulengine · 09/03/2011 18:41

LOL the magpie salutes! Amazing. Thanks for the warm welcome, it is much appreciated.

Miss I am so glad to see you're hear. I have been thinking of you and I really really wanted to hear how you are doing, especially after the news today. I actually found your old post the other day which helped alot. It's all so odd isn't it? Is that a good thing that your hcg levels are lower or does it make it harder to locate the PUL?

The surgeon mentioned that he would be making incisions for the op. Having had 3 from the last ectopic and a c-section I couldn't care less. I'm starting to have the appearance of a rag doll.

Cep Had a nose at earlier posts - you look gorgeous in your dress and just how I thought you would look. Are you bigger now for sure or do you just feel it?

Chloe55 · 09/03/2011 18:49

Both dh and I are saluters, in fact dh will go as far as saluting if he catches me doing it, even if he hasn't seen the bloody magpie! Grin

Welcome really it sounds like you have got quite a bit of uncertainty ahead Sad keep us updated tomorrow and I wish you luck that they deal with things quickly and smoothly.

Found myself getting a little obsessed with google this afternoon so I got out all my jewellery supplies (which I haven't done for weeks) and may myself a beautiful necklace which I am currently sporting Smile

blackkat The whole mindf*ck on the Clomid is what I am afraid of Sad

cep · 09/03/2011 18:57

really yes we talk serious things on here. Grin thank you, oh no i am defintely a lot bigger now, i was a size 14 then am now a size 20-22. we were living with my mil, and i got depressed, always over eat when i'm depressed, then got to my biggest ever (at that time) size then got pg. put on about 3-4 st with pg, never lost all of it. am approx 1.5 st over that weight still. i hate it but just can't seem to stick to a diet very well no self control.

cep · 09/03/2011 19:07

chloe blooming heck between you painting ds's bedroom and making jewellry you are one talented lady.

MissInvincible · 09/03/2011 19:17

Hi really - it is very difficult to see anything at all on a scan if hcg levels are under 1000. The first time I had 3 scans that showed nothing and they were considering a laparoscopy the week that my levels started falling spontaneously. The non-surgical option is methotrexate, which is considered when it is certain that the pregnancy is not viable and hcg levels don't fall on their own. Unfortunately my hospital don't offer methotrexate on ethical grounds!

I'm going back to the hospital on Monday for a repeat hcg test, as my levels are very, very low they don't think I'm in immediate danger. I don't think they have dropped as I still have symptoms.

cep hi, yes I was lurking! Feeling a bit better today, went back to work for a while as keeping busy helps.

olismum23 · 09/03/2011 19:58

Hi ladies Feeling really sick tonight and about 1million degrees but cant get an appointment at DR's till next week! :( this week is just getting better and better i tell you....

laylasmummy09 · 09/03/2011 20:19

hi really you are in the right place the ladies here are lovely, re magpie salutes i go in to full on poet mode Blush i have to say morning mr magpie hows your wife and chlidren? please tell the faries ive paid my respect. its my mums fault she is really susersticious and taught me all sorts of rediculous things,

hadrian · 09/03/2011 20:35

Hi really and welcome. Sorry to hear you've been having a tough time but this is a good place to be under the circumstances.

I don't have time for a proper catch-up but ever since my MC I have been guilty of all sorts of superstitious behaviour. When I see a magpie I say 'good morning your lordship and how is her ladyship today?'

What nonsense! Grin

meliesmummy · 09/03/2011 20:45

olis get well soon, it's probably a good thing you ended up not camping then. :( to your gp surgery!

I've started spotting again, grrr.... I'm sick of this now! Plus I'm really spotty, it's like being a teenager again! And they're in really odd places, like my lip and chest!

Hils74 · 09/03/2011 21:11

melie I've got spots too on my chest and cheeks, feel like a teenager so it might be a good thing!

Reallyusefulengine · 09/03/2011 21:12

I am crying but laughing because you are all hilariously funny. Thank you so much xxx

Blackkat · 09/03/2011 21:17

((hugs)) to Chloe re the Clomid mindf*ck, I hope it doesn't play tricks on you x

Oh and spots, hils melies I looked like I had a satellite dish on my chin during WTF.... splendid Grin

Reallyusefulengine · 09/03/2011 21:18

miss That's just ridiculous. I read on the ectopic trust website that some people object to methotrexate because it is related to terminations? Am I being dim here? Does everyone know nore than me?

Collie2 · 09/03/2011 21:39

really so sorry for what you are going through, but this thread is a lovely and full of support.

OMG i never knew there were so many ocd magpie saluters out there!!! Although i seem to have a very odd saying - if i see one i say 'hello mrs magpie, hello mr magpie, which everyone you may be please don't hurt me bring me luck' lol Grin i actually remember making this up as a kid!!! STOP LAUGHING!! Grin

And spots, god don;'t get me started. suffer with them anyway, but i looked like i had chicken pox when pg, and didn't think they could get worse. But they did. Another kick in the spuds during the mc [feeling sorry for self emoticion]

All your sunny weddings are making me very Envy and very much wishing i could be somewhere sunny. I want to take part in the wedding dress sharing so here's mine . This is the only pic i have from fb and all my others are on an external hard drive.

OP posts:
MissInvincible · 09/03/2011 21:51

really even my consultant thought it was ridiculous and he even advised me to refer myself to another hospital! It was 5 weeks from finding out my pregnancy was not viable until my hcg levels dropped and it was awful. I am petrified of having to go through that again, if my levels are hovering on Monday I'm going to see about an immediate referral. The use of methotrexate varies widely throughout the UK, when I get my head together again I'm going to look into it further.

Hello to everyone I haven't said hi to yet! Sorry I'm all doom and gloom at the moment, normality will hopefully resume shortly!
