  1. Lurking in baby names on a daily basis, desperate to post
  1. Checking the baby name statistics for both country and area
  1. Surfing Amazon to read reviews of pregnancy books- but not buying any
  1. Working out how pregnant I could be if I get pregnant this month at key events this year like weddings, holidays

5.Regularly checking the local nursery's website for information

Sorry - just realised I posted on pg1 of this thread so my numbering is all out of sync!

Idreaminchocolate · 09/02/2011 20:16

knittymum - I'm freaking out a bit because that's EXACTLY how I watch it!!!

twizzlestix · 09/02/2011 20:19

#177 buying another thermometer and taken bbt on both to "check" I get the same reading on both I.e choose the best one

#178 covertly smelling babies heads when cuddling friends/relatives babies then crying in loos afterwards Blush

#179 knowing the position of my cervix at any given time in my cycle mean WTF??

twizzlestix · 09/02/2011 20:21

I love love love this thread btw

boobellina · 09/02/2011 20:51

Have been reading swathes of this thread to DH to reassure him that I am not completely insane - I got caught with the pillow up my top when he came home early the other day!!!

In fairness we have just had our third round of IUI and I'm avoiding all retail outlets that may sell little white sticks until the 19th and occupying myself with all of the insanity I can fit in.

Daiso · 09/02/2011 21:10

Watching OBEM and "pretending" i'm in labour too

When going for a number 2 (sorry if tmi) telling myself that this is what it would be like giving birth Blush

Actually throwing away a brand new bag of frozen peas due to reading on this thread they can cause infertility, in case DH tries to give them me as there is no way he would believe me if i told him why I didn't want any

MoJangles · 09/02/2011 23:00

#184 Last week I had a contractor round to give us a quote on a 2 room extension, as when the twins are born we'll need the room

(NB DC1 is 3 months old, and took 4 years, and 4 IVF cycles to acheive. DH took the whole extension quote thing with barely a twitched eyebrow, realising by now that it's pointless to question obsessive baby-related behaviour and at least showing an architect round the site of an extension we can't afford for twins we're not expecting doesnt involve him taking any pills or drinking any green algae-based smoothies)

  1. Only cutting out and keeping recipes from my food magazinr which don't contain any ingredients that will be off limits when pregnant;

  2. Spending ages worrying about whether or not to avoid peanuts when I am pg - "hmmm, I think Great Aunt Doris who died in 1984 may have once had a reaction to them so maybe I'd better not take the risk...";

  3. Trying to use reverse-psychology on my body by telling myself that I don't want a baby;

  4. Wondering if I should set up a second MN profile and pretend that I am pg in order to post on the baby names/pregnancy boards without being slapped by a wet fish by those MNers who know that I'm TTC.

Imps7 · 10/02/2011 10:19

*magazines

tinksie · 10/02/2011 10:24

Thankies Jugglingjo, were going to POAS tomorrow......fingers crossed (still losing the plot lol)

MumTumWanted · 10/02/2011 10:39

mojangles bless you for having such an understanding DH, My oh is already questioning my obssessive behaviour (our history is came off pill in oct, fell november and MC dec, got first AF after MC yesterday and im already calculating due dates Blush

Daiso So funny when #2ing but so completely different in reality lol x x x

boobellina Thats why scatter cushions should be installed in EVERY room in the home so quickly whipping one out from under the top at an unexpected arrival home , means you can throw it down and not look out of place - not that i know of course -

Good luck to tinks and tigga with POAS

AandRMum · 10/02/2011 10:50

Oh I do 101 with the Movie credits. These are brilliant - always nice to know we are all mad together!!

AandRMum · 10/02/2011 11:10

Bump check with MummyA but I think there is actually a game in ff where you can guess whether the chart results in a bfp or not!!

Bumpsadaisie · 10/02/2011 11:49

Oh no, AandRMum, don't tell me that!!!

I've already found one where you guess the ovulation day, but I'm such a bloody mad obsessed expert now, it's too easy for me these days!

Well I am coming up to POAS time (11 DPO today) but temps plummeted today and so, employing reverse psychology, I have told myself that I am NOT pregnant and therefore that I'm not going to bother buying any tests until well into next week if AF stays away.

EnglishCountryGirl · 10/02/2011 12:13

LOVE this thread! I've done almost all of these!

189ish. Whistfully thinking about how nice it will be to see our children interacting with each other, when we've not even conceived the first yet!
190ish. Planning all the activities I would like to do with them, particularly the crafty ones, and all the places I want to take them to.
191ish. Realising that since I will be going back to work, the liklihood of having time to do many of these is almost non-existent!
192ish. Having a panic attack about going back to work after having DC, when I've not even conceived yet!

Bumpsadaisie · 10/02/2011 14:26

I now feel the affinity of the confessional with all you ladies. Where do you all lurk? Are you on the buses? Or the charting threads?

BlueCrane · 10/02/2011 15:51

193ish making mental note of where people get their birth announcement cards made/printed and rating them re. which ones I think look the best...

194ish but now just caught myself mentally designing home made birth annoucement cards for the not yet conceived baby and making a mental note of everything I could prepare before the birth so it was just a case of adding the name and photo once little one had arrived...oh dear...

twizzlestix · 10/02/2011 17:09

mojangles loved that your DH didn't even flinch mine looks at me like this Hmm all the time and feels the need to remind me that it's illegal to take other people's babies!! As if! well give me a few more months of TTC and you never know how bonkers I'll become!

Bumpsadaisie · 10/02/2011 17:32

195ish -being convinced that those microscopic bubble popping feelings you think you can feel in your tum are actually your baby ... "after all you feel them earlier second time around, you know!" (yeah right - at 11 DPO! Confused)

LoveInAColdClimate · 10/02/2011 20:55

196ish - buying nativity and gingerbread house cookie cutters in the Cox & Cox sale today to create a Christmas tradition for my as yet unconceived DCs... Blush

PatientGriselda · 10/02/2011 21:06

197ish - blowing out my stomach whilst lying in the bath and thinking fondly how nice it looks.

198ish - then wondering whether to dally with an imaginary water birth before the water goes cold.

Bumpsadaisie · 11/02/2011 07:50

Ha ha, Cold Climate and Griselda!

Bless you with your cake cutters.

jugglingjo · 11/02/2011 08:02

Hi Love In -

My DD(11) had a lovely time at Christmas when she went over to a friends house with a group of her school friends and they all made little sweetie gingerbread houses !

It was sooo Christmassy !

Hope your dreams come true too !

Lots of love from me to you Smile

BabyMaking2011 · 11/02/2011 08:52

199(?) testerpotting the walls in the "spare" room in varying shades of yellow, then wondering if it would be TOO obvious if i just bought nursery curtains...

Folicacid · 11/02/2011 19:49

Love in I ended up on Cox and Cox website and almost bought some stuff in sale but desisted!
