  1. Lurking in baby names on a daily basis, desperate to post
  1. Checking the baby name statistics for both country and area
  1. Surfing Amazon to read reviews of pregnancy books- but not buying any
  1. Working out how pregnant I could be if I get pregnant this month at key events this year like weddings, holidays

5.Regularly checking the local nursery's website for information

OMG, this is soooo me - I feel less freskish alone knowing I'm not the only one doing ALL of this Grin

Anyone else have imaginary conversations with their 'not here yet' toddler? Blush

Got2Dance · 07/02/2011 14:11

Don't know if it has already been listed, but

107ish: Planning what car to get that will be safer than my banger and reading all the safe car reviews

108ish: Not going for new work opportunities as "don't want to let people down" as clearly I will not be working in about 8 months time.

jugglingjo · 07/02/2011 14:19

Someone talked about POAS ridiculously early. And then mentioned +7 DPO.

Was more like -2 DPD from what I remember !

Felt pregnant every month, eventually I was Smile
Hurray !

BabyGiraffes · 07/02/2011 14:21

Oh dear, just Blush realising how many of these I did, including the secret stash of baby clothes at the back of the cupboard (for 7 years!) and the basket of toys.... Have now used both Grin so good luck to you all Smile. Don't give up!

Bumpsadaisie · 07/02/2011 14:26

I've just spent my lunch hour in Mothercare weighing up double buggy options and have already communicated to DH (by text, obv, due to the urgency of the question) my views on the best solution.

Blush am only 8 DPO today Confused.

Bumpsadaisie · 07/02/2011 14:29

PS that followed about 10 minutes in Gap looking at newborn baby boy clothes for this hypothetical DS that I have conceived!

[not sure why it's a DS I imagine, really - perhaps for the novelty, but I would be delighted with a baby!]

jugglingjo · 07/02/2011 14:32

Oohh !

8 DPO That's quite exciting Bumpsadaisie, n'est pa ?

Did you buy a POAS while you were at it ?

openerofjars · 07/02/2011 14:32

109 or thereabouts: signing up for Race for Life in July; buying skinny jeans, a coat that won't do up if pg and a bottle of nice gin, all in the spirit of "Well, that ought to tempt fate enough to ensure I get pg (almost without even needing to have sex)!".

getawiggleon · 07/02/2011 14:34

Guilty of so many of these - every visit to JL seems to have involved a 'detour' through the pram dept recently. I have also poas during period 'just in case' (in case the 8 previous BFNs I got were wrong)

107 Entering series of high temps into ff during luteal phase just to see what it would take for my chart to go (magic word) "triphasic"

108 Using words like "luteal phase" and "triphasic"

109 Wearing 3 layers of clothing during lp in order to give temp a helping hand (also guilty of taking series of temps from 6am onwards and cherry-picking best/most desired one for chart - waves to Izzy!)

110 DH telling me he knows more about the workings of the female reproductive system than he would ever want to than most junior gynaecologists.

112 Discussing a 'sperm meets egg plan' with DH

113 Telling DH on CD8 that we need to have sex to 'flush out any old swimmers' as part of 'sperm meets egg plan'

112 DH asking if number 111 is my idea of foreplay.

113 Refreshing facebook every two seconds to see if pregnant friend from primary school that I haven't seen for 20 years has given birth, just so I can see what name they have chosen.

I could go on?

getawiggleon · 07/02/2011 14:40

Can I just add to my previous list:

Being unable to create simple list in numerical order as list of my ridiculous ttc habits is clearly far too long!

DH asked if number 113 was my idea of foreplay (the first no 113 that is)

getawiggleon · 07/02/2011 14:42

114 Wondering if being unable to form simple list could be symptom of pregnancy (at 9dpo)

Got2Dance · 07/02/2011 14:50

jugglingjo - I think you must be out of the TTC loop Wink ....DPO is days past ovulation. It's not days past period due! So 7 or 8DPO is v early still!! :) Yes, yes, we have all tested then. But most of us manage to resist testing before we've even ovulated Grin

Got2Dance · 07/02/2011 14:52

Loving the "sperm meets egg" plan. And also with you on flushing out old swimmers at 8DPO

115: considering spicing up our sex life means sex on days 11, 13 and 15 instead of 10, 12, 14 and 16.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 07/02/2011 14:58

God I do loads of these and didn't even know I was broody.

jugglingjo · 07/02/2011 15:03

Ahh ! I thought you were all very restrained !

I did look it up on acronyms, but not there !

Yes, I am out of this loop now with two lovely DC's, but remember those days well, and wish everyone lots of luck Smile

(Guessed DPO might be days period overdue. Invented DPD as days (before) period due )

MNHQ - Update to acronyms please !

KnackeredCow · 07/02/2011 15:15

Got2dance "But most of us manage to resist testing before we've even ovulated" Grin Grin Gin You sure about that?

KnackeredCow · 07/02/2011 15:16

oops I see my grin got replace with Gin

Freudian slip?

Maybe MNHQ should give us a glass of gin emoticon?

Got2Dance · 07/02/2011 15:47

Ok KnackeredCow - you sussed me!! Unwrapping the pee stick at the same time as a tampon anyone??!!

CheerfulYank · 07/02/2011 16:02

I also have nurseries in mind for either sex. And names chosen. And more names chosen in case I have twins. And an ultimatum put- to DH that I will be SEVERELY displeased if I am not up the duff by my birthday in May. Blush

perpetuallypregnant · 07/02/2011 16:04

Haha these remind me of ttc dd3. It took me almost a year and during that time I think I did most of these things! Especially fishing hpts out of the bin.... That one actually worked as I had tested at10dpo and it looked to be bfn so I chucked it. Fished it out a few hours later and there was a faint line :)

Faint line is now crawling around the floor :)

Capreece · 07/02/2011 16:15

#116 - weighing up all existing and new friends to see if they would make suitable godparents/guardians for non-existent child.

#117 addendum to 116 - ranking these friends in order of suitability for boy/girl first child/second child etc...

I have way more but have currently forgotten them so will undoubtedly pop back. Glad to see I'm not the only one going a bit loopy.

Capreece · 07/02/2011 16:18

Oh yes - wondering if any slight, random physical change could be pregnancy related and immediately whizzing to Google. (Funny smelling pee, anyone?)

I swear to God it's a good thing DH and I have separate accounts on the laptop, because the weird search terms I leave in...

busyboysmum · 07/02/2011 16:23

Last year when I was convinced it was going to happen really quickly just cos I had finally convinced dh to have one last baby I bought a bag of maternity clothes off ebay - complete bargain, only £10 thank goodness and local pickup. They are under my bed at the moment gathering dust!

sparechange · 07/02/2011 16:53

rehearsing the speeches which will be used to tell DH, my parents, his parents and our friends that I'm pg
Rehearsing the speeches which will be used to ask the (already chosen) friends to be god parents
Out loud, obviously...

KnackeredCow · 07/02/2011 16:55

Oooh this is hilarious

118 Being told at a clear HSG that cervix and uterus are positioned to the left (a normal anomaly) and subsequently stopping DH mid-shag and asking him whether he could aim to his right at the crucial moment Blush
