Hello,

So, I've been TTC on and off for TWO BLOODY YEARS!!!!! And am going to the doctors next week. However, I am the eternal optimist and will be SWI like the best of them for the next few weeks before I start symptom spotting again. Grin

Come and join me and lets see who gets lucky this month!

(But pretty please let me be one. I mean, I am starting the thread, those are the rules aren't they?

Oh I don't know - I have only got two freebie tests in my drawer, don't really want to spend any money on the more expensive ones - it's just so hard to wait though. I definitely had this taste with both my two successful pregnancies.

Sits on hands. Note to self do not go into Boots tomorrow and spend good money on expensive pregnancy test......

iwilldothis · 08/02/2011 19:37

bbm no need to buy expensive tests ...use your freebies! My "LFP" this morn was on an internet cheapie! :)

knittymum · 08/02/2011 19:42

Do you know, I've got almost nothing done in the last ten days because this is all I've been thinking about! At least if I get a BFP in ten days (which will draaaaaag!) I can maybe move on a little? Let's face it, from precedent I know that I will then have a scant ten days if I'm lucky before I'm feeling sick as a dog for the better part of three months!

knittymum · 08/02/2011 20:04

And also am feeling :( as am buying maternity clothes for SIL for birthday present at the moment - should be for me!!

q2011 · 08/02/2011 20:09

Congratulations Iwilldothis!

I have convinced myself Af is going to arrive, sore boobs and back pain, this happened last month, Af was late, convinced myself i was pregnant then turned up on day 36, thought this was going to be another long cycle, but maybe not as on day 27 now.

knittymum · 08/02/2011 20:11

q2011 maybe that'll be the reverse psychology you need to get your BFP! Fingers crossed for you anyway!

LoveInAColdClimate · 08/02/2011 20:30

I am such a muppet, just used an internet cheapie test "just in case" my body had been so confused by Implanon removal that somehow my lack of temperature rise actually meant I was pregnant...Hmm. You will be shocked to learn that with evening wee and, er, no ovulation it was negative!

Hope everyone else is doing better with test resistance!

busyboysmum · 08/02/2011 21:16

LIACC That is so funny - I cracked this evening too, guess what? BFN? I can't believe it I even looked at my wee and thought there is no way, it was so clear, but I still went ahead and did it - why?? SO glad someone else is as daft as me.

So only one cheapie left - I could even have waited until tomorrow morning when it would have been more concentrated but no!

knittymum · 08/02/2011 21:30

Bless you both! I'm far too terrified to take any tests, I've decided! So I'm waiting until (if it happens) I'm actually late, and then I'll go and buy one.

Having said all that, I may crack in tesco on Monday. I just want to be knocked out for two weeks, this is torture, isn't it?!

KatyCustard · 08/02/2011 23:11

Well, I have 20 internet cheapies in the cupboard, and as they are so cheap I have decided to wee on one every morning from now untill the 16th. I know I'm going to do it anyway, so I may as well admit it! iwilldothis that sounds very exciting! Fingers (and legs) crossed for everyone! Grin

How funny that we both snapped at the same time, busyboysmum! I admire your restraint, knittymum... I get a test somehow sneaks into your troley on Monday, though Grin. I like your forward planning, KatyCustard - I hope the POAS goes well.

LoveInAColdClimate · 09/02/2011 07:48

For get please read bet!

LoveInAColdClimate · 09/02/2011 08:03

Er, and troley should read trolley - what is wrong with me? Baby brain Grin?

busyboysmum · 09/02/2011 09:25

Hmmmm well I was in bed last night - we were nearly asleep, then suddenly my brain has this faint recollection of having a proper pregnancy test somewhere in the house from last year!! So of course I can't wait until tomorrow I have to leap out of bed, waking dh in the process, and spend the next 10 mins rummaging through drawers until I find a clearblue!

So of course I had to waste the other internet cheapie this morning (neg) I know I have to wait I know I have to wait... Now my thinking is 3rd time lucky - I will use the Clearblue and everything will just fall into place.

I am so rubbish I do apologise Wink

twolittlemonkeys · 09/02/2011 09:35

lucylookout without Clomid I only get AF once every 3 months on average! When I was on Clomid to conceive DS1 my cycles were 28-30 days but this time round they seem to be longer (well my last one I thought I was late but kept getting BFN, AF arrived on CD 35) Saturday will be CD33 so hopefully long enough to get a BFP (fingers crossed) I may crack and test before then as I still have about 15 cheapy HPTs in the drawer...

I had planned to have a bouncy castle for my 30th in April so am hoping that tempting fate will work and bring on the BFP so I can't use the bouncy castle at my party, desperate or what?

knittymum · 09/02/2011 09:49

LIACC It's really not restraint, it's simply pure, abject, heart in my mouth butterflies in my tummy cold terror! Feeling quite sick this morning, couldn't possibly be IB though as I'm still 8-9 days away from AF. Ooh, and my daft thing for the morning, I just got really excited when I got an e-mail from a maternity wear company before I realised that it's because of the top I bought for my DSIL yesterday evening! How dull am I! As if a clothes company would know I'm upduffed before me, and send me an e-mail to congratulate or something!!

Anyone else getting a bit more acid indigestion than normal? (Come on, feed my fantasy!)

KatyCustard that sounds like a good idea, at least with so many you can feel like you're doing something for the rest of the 2ww!

busyboysmum how long will you wait before using the clearblue? Will you resist until much nearer AF due date or will it be today or tomorrow?!?

twolittlemonkeys I think tempting fate works loads of the time. I'm supposed to be going away in September, and will need to book a ferry to get there, so I'm thinking that maybe if I book the ferry that'll seal the deal as I'll almost definitely not be up for going away at 35 weeks!

twolittlemonkeys · 09/02/2011 16:16

Tempting fate did work when ttc DS1 (we booked the holiday of a lifetime to Hong Kong and Malaysia after about 15 months of trying then 3 months later, BFP!) also worked to send me into labour, DH had planned to take me out shopping, for a nice meal and a manicure so of course I went into labour the day before!
Knittymum - LOL at the thought of the clothing company having psychic powers...

ghosteditor · 09/02/2011 18:43

ooo could someone post me a link to some MN approved internet cheapies? And also - if I have them delivered at work is it going to be obvious?

Have a twin pack cheapy from sainsbury's that I bought in moment of madness forethought which is waiting until next week. Or, if AF turns up, obviously, waiting for next time.

lucylookout · 09/02/2011 18:51

I got mine from Amazon. Here's a link. The packaging as I remember is very discreet (dispatched by Amazon so in their packaging I think). But don't open it at work as they're just in a see through plastic bag once the brown card comes off.

www.amazon.co.uk/Highly-Sensitive-Ovulation-Fertility-Strips/dp/B001G7P62S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297277316&sr=8-1

Hope everyone's OK. Anymore good news for anyone?

ghosteditor · 09/02/2011 18:59

thanks lucy forgot to mention that I meant HPTs not ov kits!

hoping to avoid ov testing unless we're having problems for a long time, largely because DH is away roughly 1/3 of the year, on trips of varying length, so we can't really control things too much.

lucylookout · 09/02/2011 19:03

Oh, same brand do HPTs too!

LoveInAColdClimate · 09/02/2011 19:21

Oooh, symptom spotting alert! Just did a Hoopercise class (wih giant hula hoops - bashing your middle with a hoop is probably contra-indicated in pregnancy anyway, nearly came on here to discuss whether I should go but decided that way lies madness) and felt so sick and knackered three quarters of the way through I considered stopping! Did carry on til the end but slowed right down. Of course, the alternative explanation is that I am very unfit...

LoveInAColdClimate · 09/02/2011 19:23

Oh, and re tests, I just bought some off a random eBay seller. Packaging was very discreet. But they are obviously faulty as gave me a BFN last night despite hula hoop incident above clearly definitely meaning am updiffed Grin.

pinkpinkeverywhere · 09/02/2011 20:43

Hi, I'm very new to this and have been secretly lurking on a few conception threads when I discovered this one and thought I must join as everything is just so familiar to me and the fact that everyone is symptom spotting like mad is making me feel so much better so thank you. (phew take a breath!)
I have 2 dd's (6 and 4) and had a mc 2 years ago which took me a long time to get over. We've now made the decision to TTC#3 and obviously I want it to happen NOW!
This is only our second month but I'm sympton spotting with the rest of you, feeling quite positive it may have worked, and desperately trying to not test until Monday.
By the way my husband has already said 'thank goodness for MN' as I'm driving him potty with my drivel!
Phew sorry long first post

LoveInAColdClimate · 09/02/2011 21:04

Welcome to the thread, pinkpink! Hope you get your BFP this month. I think my DH is also very grateful for MN - is an outlet for my insanity that doesn't involve chattering to him about TTC non-stop...
