Hello,

So, I've been TTC on and off for TWO BLOODY YEARS!!!!! And am going to the doctors next week. However, I am the eternal optimist and will be SWI like the best of them for the next few weeks before I start symptom spotting again. Grin

Come and join me and lets see who gets lucky this month!

(But pretty please let me be one. I mean, I am starting the thread, those are the rules aren't they?

Ooh Knitty, after all a line is a line is a line?

On another note, if I DO buy a test today, WHICH ONE?! I hear Superdrug are very senstive?

ghosteditor · 14/02/2011 14:27

hi knitty that sounds like very optimistic news, I hope that you get a clearer line tomorrow. If you're right then it can definitely only get stronger!

As for cramping etc - I really don't know. I'm lucky enough to generally have quite light periods and only tend to have pain for a day or two, easily controlled with painkillers. I just don't have many AF symptoms compared to some people on here so it's hard to tell even when not TTC. (Sooooo not complaining about that btw). My belly has been feeling kind of bloated for the last few days, but I've been ill and not exercising/eating quite a lot so that could easily be the reason. I just sort of feel aware of my belly, quite low down.

Can anyone say psychosomatic...

knittymum · 14/02/2011 15:38

Bumps - a line is a line, sure, but is a very faint hint of the possibility of a shadow of a line also a line?!?! I'll just have to wait for the morning [sigh]! I don't really know much about the different tests, but I got first response because of the earliness of possible testing. However, that does mean that I am almost literally peeing on fivers every morning, but that is how I'm getting through the day!!

Ghost - that's the optimism I'm clinging to! I'm the same with few AF symptoms, except for moodiness (which I've not had this month). And apparently bloating is a valid symptom, because your body slows down your digestion to ensure all the nutrients are extracted (thank you Dr Google for that one!) which makes you bloated and windy Blush. So don't give up hope! I'm certainly staying positive and keeping fingers firmly crossed for tomorrow!

babybythesea · 14/02/2011 16:45

I knew I shouldn't have come back to read updates. I had convinced myself that I could wait until Thursday but now not sure I can after reading about shadows of lines - might have to go for it tomorrow - would only be 2 days before AF is due so not too desperately early. If I can be strong tomorrow, then waiting until Thurs should be ok as I am working on Weds and it's a real rush to get out of the house on time as it is. So, the question is, what state will my willpower be in first thing tomorrow? It's weeing on a fiver. It's weeing on a fiver....

corkythecat · 14/02/2011 17:40

Thanks for all the lovely congratulations, have POA few more S's today and they are all the same Grin Blush
knitty hope your line gets darker as the days go on. As you can see we are fans of the same expensive hobby Smile
babybythesea got my positive and my AF isn't due until Wednesday - go for it!

corkythecat · 14/02/2011 17:43

Oh and my due date would be 26t October, I'll have two October babies.

VintageNancy · 14/02/2011 18:12

Still no sign of AF for me although I was convinced it was coming yesterday. I'm due today... Will see what my temp is like tomorrow morning and then maybe test (that's bound to mean that AF comes).

babybythesea · 14/02/2011 19:33

Corky - you are no help at all! I'm looking for reasons to avoid getting a BPN - I just know if I can wait until Thursday I can generate a BFP!! I'm sure there's a law somewhere that proves it! No willpower to hold out -no baby!! And at the moment, the willpower is fast vanishing!

twolittlemonkeys · 14/02/2011 19:45

Oh Knitty, sounds hopeful.

Still no sign of AF, now on CD35. Hmm Am beginning to wonder if the Clomid didn't work this month.

VintageNancy · 14/02/2011 21:08

I'm demolishing a bar of green & blacks whilst watching Glee thanks to the arrival of AF - boo!

lucylookout · 14/02/2011 22:28

Sorry to hear that vintage. hope green and blacks did the trick and that next month is your month.
Congratulations to those with bfps and good luck to those testing tomorrow.
katycustard how are you doing? x

babybythesea · 15/02/2011 07:49

Well ladies, looks like you'll have to put up with me on this thread for another month. We're going to need to start a March thread soon. Tested (2 days before AF is due to visit) and got a BFN. Even fishing it out of the bin an hour later didn't help. Not even a hint of a whiff of a line. I knew it'd be negative if I couldn't refrain! Oh well. There's always next month. Am also clinging on to the hope that it's still a little bit too early and that AF will not show up and a test on, say, Friday will yield different results. Trying also to see the positives. Was up most of the night with a restless toddler. She doesn't normally have sleeping problems so maybe this is to remind me that babies bring sleep deprivation. Today will be fun- one tired and grumpy child, and tired and disappointed Mummy of one. At least there's only one child to manage, right??? And I'm not coping with her while also coping with morning sickness and pregnancy tiredness. There are positives in my negative. There are. Really.

boobellina · 15/02/2011 09:12

aww babybythesea sorry to hear that. Might be too early to test - this is what I'm telling myself - I was obsessively reading the % on the back of the clear blue packet and they only get good on the date that AF is due so keep your fingers crossed.

Bumpsadaisie · 15/02/2011 09:15

Oh dear babybythesea - what a rotten night and morning for you. As you say though, it isnt over till AF comes! How many DPO are you?

babybythesea · 15/02/2011 09:46

Thanks boobellina and bumps. I'm currently 12 DPO, so it is a bit early, and I've been reading threads about how people didn't get a BFP for ages after AF was due so there is some chance still. I'm assuming there isn't though - easier to start preparing for the next round than to get hopeful and disappointed all over again. And this way, if there is an unexpected result, then it's a lovely lovely surprise.
As for DD, she's clingy and a bit miserable - think we'll take the dog for a good long walk this morning, and hope for a long nap this afternoon so she feels a bit better. We had a massive thunderstorm last night - wondering if that accounts for her lack of sleep.

Hope someone else got my BFP - it's out there somewhere so maybe one of you guys can make use of it instead!

Bumpsadaisie · 15/02/2011 09:54

Good plan baby - just expect AF to turn up and if she doesn't in five or six days time, then test again!

iwilldothis · 15/02/2011 11:12

just checking in on everyone here.... sorry about all the BFNs... knittymum any more stronger lines? katycustard how are you doing? i remember the rules of the thread so will be gutted for you if no BFP!
xx

ghosteditor · 15/02/2011 11:17

babybythesea, I prefer to think of BFPs as contagious rather than finite numbers which need to be shared out Grin . Given the thread rules laid out by katycustard I think we'd have to send the BFP her way if we're limited though!

Thinking about it though ladies, it's only Feb 15th so we're not at our actual testing date yet, so it's not surprising that it hasn't been a particularly lucky thread yet! I predict a bit of a surge. we need a [hopeful] icon...

twolittlemonkeys · 15/02/2011 11:24

Oh, can I ask you all a question, do you reckon OV sticks are worth bothering with? Clomid doesn't seem to be regulating my AF very well although a couple of months ago I know I OV'd as I had blood tests, my cycles seem to be getting longer. Now CD36 and counting. Will test again tomorrow - ever the optimist! Babybythesea I'm hoping to be one of those people you're talking about (with DS2 my BFP was quite feint but I was already 8 weeks pg).

Maybe I'd stop constantly POAS if I bought more expensive tests - as it is I paid £2.99 for 20 on Ebay so feel like I'm not wasting too much money. I need to admit to myself that it's not my month. I'd already worked out the due date for imaginary baby and was delighted because there are no other family birthdays in October (nutter...)

babylann · 15/02/2011 11:45

Hello everyone! I just noticed this thread and realised everybody within is probably testing around now and thought I'd wish you all some luck with your POASs.

Congratulations to everyone who has got their good news!

KatyCustard · 15/02/2011 14:39

Hello everyone.

Been POAS every morning like I said with my internet cheapies but no joy. They are meant to be sensitive to 10 mlu so although it's still a day early I've all but given up hope!

Up until this point I've been quite pragmatic about it all and very mindful of how lucky I am to have DD (nearly 7). But today I can't pretend I'm fine with it and just want to howl. Sorry if that's not sensitive those who don't have any DCs. It's just how I feel today. I blame AF. As soon as she appears I'll be back to my cheerful self. Promise!

Congratulations to those who already have a BFP! Grin Let's hope we see lots more on the thread! xx

ghosteditor · 15/02/2011 16:21

thanks for all the good wishes from everyone! I'm afraid I have no advice about OV sticks, since I'm avoiding them like the plague not quite there yet.

katycustard, if this wasn't mumsnet, I'd give you a virtual hug. How about some chocolate cake instead? [proffers] Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

knitty, we're looking to you for the good news here... fx

lucylookout · 15/02/2011 18:52

monkeys I use ov sticks and they were handy for me to relearn my cycles after mc. I bought cheapies off amazon but hradly ever got positives. Now use clear blue which are much more expensive, so have to use sparingly but work for me.
Sorry to hear you're feeling blue Katy. hopefully it's not too late for bfp but if af does arrive, and if you have been ttc for 2 years, i really recommend you go to drs for a few tests. It might just reassure you or, if there is a problem you cN have help.
AF kind of arrived today, although tbh it's a very irritating one. 4 days of spotting, then red blood today (sorry tmi) but still not proper flow. Wish it would just get going properly, so it could end again and I could start swi again! God, it's exhausting.

Bumpsadaisie · 15/02/2011 21:07

Very sorry for those who are feeling down because AF has arrived or who are still stuck in limbo. Sad I hope good news comes soon.

At the risk of being totally insensitive I am thrilled as I got a BFP today - clearblue digi says 2-3 weeks (FF says am 16DPO today). I didn't test till 7pm (having sent DH to Tescos on his way home!) but just felt very pregnant all day today - waves of nausea and rusty metal taste and had to lie down for an hour this morning.

So absolute joy and gratefulness Grin combined with Shock at how unbelievably lucky we've been combined with anxiety about whether we will make it to the 12 weeks scan, whether everything will be OK then, whether the 12-16 week tests will be OK, whether the 20 week scan will be OK and whether the baby will still be alive and healthy at 40 weeks and how painful the birth might be Confused. Also worry that I am going to be really sick like last time round, how on earth I will cope with pregnancy with toddler, and then once the baby is born how I will cope with a newborn and a 2.5 year old!

Right, now get a grip and shut up woman. Cracks open glass of appletise (and worries about the G&T she's had every night for the last two weeks ...)

Thanks to everyone for your support and crossing anything and everything that you all get good news soon xx Bumps

ghosteditor · 15/02/2011 21:21
