Donne thy robes and come join the hagges round a crackling fire made of ye olde pee sticks, as we run around nekkid, high on snorted baybeedust, and do our straynge erotick rituals on the altar of ye inconstant moon.

Come one, come all as we cast spelles and do any Magick we can finde on our queste for an elusive win.

Bring thy gynne for yon cauldron and help thyself to a laddle, as we prepare the incantationnes...

Yes. Thank you Boo.

Ivegotmrbitey · 04/02/2011 22:14

Am going to bed in disgrace, got over excited for that try, leapt off the sofa with fist raised on victory salute and somehow punched the light bulb out of the ceiling causing lacerations to hand, glass every where and himself and myself missing a good bit of the match doing first aid in the kitchen! FDH vay cross and cat has vanished Sad

Ariesgirl · 04/02/2011 22:49

Oh Bitey you utter utter numpty. Mind you, that's exactly the sort of thing I do on a regular basis. Hope your hand's ok

Truffkin · 04/02/2011 23:58

Oh Bitey that did make me chuckle, sorry for gaining enjoyment from your misfortune Blush

Also sorry for rugby disappointment for my BESH friends in / from / with ancestral leanings towards the principality. Here, come for a grope cwtch to make it all better.

I am reading 'Room' at the moment (well, I started it this morning and am reliably informed by my Kindle that I am 73% of the way through it) and it's BRILLIANT. Just thought I would share in case anyone here has already read it and can agree or disagree or in case anyone else would like a recommendation for the next book to read. I would recommend, although have not got the the ending yet. Am hoping it's as good as the rest of the book so far.

In other news, I'm now WOOFLing in case anyone is interested. Am only 3DPO so of course I haven't been indulging in any kind of menkul yet. No, not me, no way Josie.

AlpinePony · 05/02/2011 06:02

brownb That is shit. A friend of mine is a German national who was married to an English man and living in Manchester. He used her as a punchbag. She realised was time to leave, spoke to solicitor who said long drawn-out expensive business. So she took son back to Germany and a few months later moved to Belgium with new man but son still in school in Germany (living on border). Now, after 1 year, courts will not ask that child is returned to UK because of "disruption to child's life". So, if your husband can make sure she doesn't go "underground" for 12 months then he might still have something - or, he could use Section 8 of the European Human Rights act (impeding on family life). But , all of this shite is expensive and corrupt (I've recently lost a v expensive court case - lawyers are the winners) - ha! none more so in Italian courts of course - although Foxy Knoxy's boyfriend's usually mafioso-employed barrister couldn't get him off. I digress. My German friend never wanted to stop her son seeing his father - I'd have told him to get tae fuck and I'm assuming your husband didn't beat his ex up because if he did you wouldn't be with him! B pays for her son (and herself) to fly to Manchester 3 times a year, she then flies back to Belgium whilst he's spending time with his father - then she flies back to collect him. Not once in 7 years has his father paid for a flight ticket or taxi and not once has he wanted or initiated a trip to Belgium to visit. It wasn't so much that she didn't want his father to see him, but she's German and felt that with her marriage gone she was emotionally tender and vulnerable and wanted to be closer to family, friends and "her people" even though she is of course completely fluent in English. Perhaps MrB and his ex need a good mediator rather than an expensive legal wrangle.

All you girls talking Welsh are making me Envy - my parents are up in the Elan Valley and I've not been back since 99? Long time. Have read on fb that it was new manager's fault who went in with wrong tactics. Wrong tactics? Surely tactic is to er... win? Confused

Jailbait and I are unlikely to conceive another child as we're too busy scrapping about lack of sleep due to this one. And we're not having the sechs. Although I told him yesterday that he's having it every day for a week whether he likes it or not.

Today I'm going to ride my horse for the first time in 2 months :( and chainsmoke furiously. I'm then going to come home and put on a happy face as we get the keys to our new house next Friday. I think we're both beginning to believe it's actually going ahead.

ps linkylinky to new house?

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 08:34

Sorry for rugby and droidal dissapointments. Could be good punishment for droid if we applied a scrum to it tho no?

brownie I am sorry to hear about such tough times un rhe B household. Have nothing more useful to offer than sympathy tho. Think mediator idea of ponies is good one if not to late.

truffs funnily enough Room is the book I picked fir our book club which I am hosting tonight. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as you, as I will get brownie points :) I was worried that it might teeter on te edge of MisLit but think it avoided it as really is quite a sweet and hopeful book even tho harsh subject matter. Not sure how I felt about the 'written from 5 year olds perspective' as I dont think it wad kept up well enough to be authentic and I think the narrative would have suffered if it had iyswim. think maybe she could have written from several perspectives (mums, police etc) to tackle the aspects Jack was to young/naive to convey. But then I spose would gave been a completely different book. Soz, for thread hijack onto book review!

Pony good luck with Sechs Week. for Stewpot if she's still lurking.

AlpinePony · 05/02/2011 09:10

cassie 'tis on fb. (photo album)

Wrt knitting mothers. My mother is a Daily Mail reader and used to knit bonnets and the like. I think she gave up around a decade ago though and after my mc she phoned in tears concerned she'd never be a grandmother. Clearly I flushed her first grandchild from my uterus out of spite. As ries says, I believe it's all so "they" can all brag/moan amongst their friends. It's a giant game of one-up-grandchildren-ship!

I can haz made bid on antique singer sewing machine because want to start sewing again - i.e., make waist/arse combination on trousers look sensible. Also have hankerings for knitting machine. Wither dancing on bars in eurotrash nightspots?

starnosemole · 05/02/2011 09:39

pony perhaps you could knit bikinis and you and brown could dance on bars in them, thereby fulfilling all your basic needs and giving us something to goggle at

(it thought it was a game)

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/02/2011 10:07

rocket that is a genius idea! Roll droid into a rubgy ball, position in front of posts, flinch as the hopes of a nation are dashed, twice! That'll learn it!

ski does sex week coincide with house moving? Fun for the variety!

Just for info, have tried to reach the replaced light bulb this morning and can't get within two inches of it. Must have been a hell of a sit to stand leap off the sofa!

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 10:26

bitey that is high larious. Hope the hand is ok today tho :)

owlbooty · 05/02/2011 10:36

Bitey you muppet Grin hope you are sufficiently mended this morning and Practice has returned from wherever it ran off to.

Room was v.good, am now reading Will Walker's First Year of Marriage which is fairly amusing. Problem with Kindle is that there aren't enough books for it. Or if they are maybe I am just failing to find them. Did, however get super new Kindle cover from Amazon as previous cover had epic short-circuit off the prongs fail and kept crashing. They have sent me one with a light on it that doesn't crash instead.

I don't know much welsh having grown up across the river from cardiff. But I am amused by the Welsh word for Hospital - Ysbytwy or something like this - which if you actually say it does sound rather like Hospital despite having no vowels. Genius.

Boo for the BFNs; they suck mightily

Pony hoorah for new house!

Truffs hoorah for the WOOFL!

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/02/2011 11:19

Hand fine, ego less so!

Envy @ kindle boots

HighPriestessBoo · 05/02/2011 11:22

How many Bitey's does it take to change a lightbulb? :o

New house looks really lovely Ponytail. Hope you are having a good ride today

Whilst the rugby team are doing the droid please can they also kick the shite out of my tonsilitis? I am bored stupid with being ill now - I have been poorly on and off since Boxing day and I've just about had enough Angry

rocketleaf · 05/02/2011 11:47

Boots, there is a program you can get called Calibre, wich converts any ebook format to any other. So you can download any free ones you can find (ahem) and make them into a version you can read on the KIndle. I have yet to play with it but TBs exploratory foray was positive.

My favourite word in Welsh is for Microwave. Poptyping. Popty meaning oven and ping for the sound it makes. Poptyping. I could say that all day.

Ariesgirl · 05/02/2011 11:53

You learned that off the One Show didn't you?

A trip round a Welsh Tesco's is the funniest thing ever.

HighPriestessBoo · 05/02/2011 11:57

When I was on hols I read this and this

Enjoyed both, although both a bit dark and would have preferred something less intense due to feeling ill!

BrownB · 05/02/2011 11:58

Thanks for the kind suggestions and thoughts ladies. If only mediation were possible. Warning - Little rant. We're not dealing with someone reasonable or in any way willing to compromise. If we were, Italy wouldn't be that much of an issue. Sadly, she wants her day in court, wants the court to vindicate her version of the truth and wants my DP to pay and pay and pay. And it will cost in the region of £20,000 (probably more), which he'll have to borrow to try and fight it, with little chance of success. Sadly I have reached the same conclusion as my DP - which is, that the fight must take place, because his DS must know in times to come that his Dad loved him enough to try. I hate the fact that I've been drawn into this so deeply. Hate it. But there you go. 2011 is going to be a tough one in the PlanB household. Is it too early to have Wine?

Missed the rugby due to Waterboys concert... Sorry about your hand Bitey. Have to confess I did laff a little... I am a very clumsy person, so have my own set of scars etc that I could compare notes on. Will refrain right now.

BrownB · 05/02/2011 12:01

And Boo - sorry about constant illness. I used to get ill all the time too, and then I moved to a house that didn't have double glazing, and I haven't had a single cold this winter... Not sure if this information is helpful..

HighPriestessBoo · 05/02/2011 12:11

Brown We don't have double glazing either - but I have been worrying and fretting a lot about the sister/family issue, and my job/finances. I think it might be to do with all that - my body is just making me rest so I can face it all with renewed vigour when I'm well again.

I love the Waterboys - was it fab? Hope it took your mind off things for a while. And no, if you fancy some Wine I think it's not too early given the circumstances. What a mare. I hope that there is a good outcome for you all.

Ariesgirl · 05/02/2011 12:17

Here's a thing - we live in the coldest, dampest house ever and are very rarely ill, if ever. And it's not pristinely clean either. But what about at Christmas? did someone ask? When you had the norovirus AND the flu? Well, that was at my parents' warm, centrally heated clean lovely comfortable house. Make of that what you will.

owlbooty · 05/02/2011 12:19

Lovely lovely Brownie - no, never too early for Wine when there are mental exes involved. I have friends who have been through this particular joy and thus sympathise deeply.

Rocket Poptyping is fabulous.

AlpinePony · 05/02/2011 13:14

bitey Oooh, hadn't considered that. I won Bear during our last house move - major stress, we moved everything ourselves in a transit van (3 trips up and down the motorway) and I spent 48 hours living on green fags, diet coke & petrol station food - plus one burger king - and I won a baybeeee in that time! ShockGrin Must try to make this move as difficult as poss.

boo Ride not brilliant, it's ever so windy and she's got it right up 'er.

rierie We live in a filth pit filled with filthy dogs and horse crap and as a result Bear's immune system is top notch. Took him away to a clean hotel and we all fell ill. Hmm

HighPriestessBoo · 05/02/2011 13:17

Is it windy everywhere today? Our house nearly blew away, Oz style, last night.

I haff just watched OBEM on 4od. Bawled my eyes out - it was really lovely this week.
