Orange good luck today sweetie

Izzy sorry AF also turned up. At least AF turning up early means you can get working on next round a bit quicker doesnt it? (yes we have to find something positive)
I´m so sorry to hear about your sister. It must be really horrible but Im sure that they can do very careful surgery. Fingers crossed for her. Are you close that you can give each other support?

Wombat woweeeeee Im really pleased for you. Thats one great piece of news since Ive been gone!!

Any more??

Im still on the bl**dy ferry. didnt get much sleep but luckily for the first time in ages Ive not been sick. At least one good thing about a 16 hour crossing.

Back home today I will start the good old detox/diet thing myself. Might re-join weightwatchers......just not sure what to do to get my arse in gear and find a new mission apart from SWI. Maybe it might drop the pressure concentrating on fatfighting first.

wishing you all a lovely start to Monday!

DachshundsWantPuppies · 03/01/2011 08:35

orange Just wanted to say good luck for today, I've got everything crossed for you.

aandr intrigue about the holiday, huh! We went to Oz on my honeymoon. 3 days into a 3 week honeymoon we went horse riding in the outback near Cairns. The horse I was on bolted and threw me off, the ground I fell on was hard packed earth and I landed on my arm, which snapped in half. It broke where the nerve wraps around it, so I got bad nerve damage, We were three hours from the nearest town at that point, but we eventually made it to Cairns hospital. The registrar booked me in for an operation to fix the arm, but when she spoke to the consultant he basically said patch her up and send her home and she can have the op back in the UK. Having looked into this particular break and nerve damage a lot now I know that it needed operating on straight away. I had to sleep sitting up for the rest of the honeymoon and was in a lot of pain. Because my immune system was therefore fairly suppressed I picked up a really bad strep throat infection. We came back via Singapore and we were staying at Raffles - by the time we got there I was so ill that I was delirious for the whole 3 days we were there and don't remember any of it. But the worst part was that the particular infection I picked up can cause psoriasis if you are likely to be prone to it. I unfortunately then got bad psoriasis all over my body, including ugly purple skin all over my face. When we got back to the UK the nerve damage in my arm was so bad that after I'd had 3 operations and spent 6 months in hospital I still had no movement or feeling in the arm or hand and they were thinking of amputating. I then began to regain a little function and now I have movement in it but no feeling. It was so bad that I had to give up my job and only regained enough function to work about 3 years later. 90% of the people who get the psoriasis caused by the strep throat don't get recurrent psoriasis. I'm in the 10% that do and am therefore on lots of steroid creams and stuff that are very bad for conception. We figured that we deserved a replacement honeymoon, so on our 5 year anniversary we went on a holiday to Antigua, to an all inclusive resort where all we had to do was enjoy the sun and the pool. On the first day I fell down 1 step and broke my ankle really badly. Me and holidays don't mix...

Choccybick · 03/01/2011 08:50

Dachs jeyssssssus you don´t do things by halves do you. Truly awful story.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 03/01/2011 08:56

OUCH dachs !!!!! Shock Shock

choccy hope the ferry crossing goes smoothly! Yes you're right, the one good thing about early af is the early start to new cycle, might as well get back into it asap if there's no bfp!!

owlbooty · 03/01/2011 09:52

hadrian · 03/01/2011 10:40

Blimey dachs that is one hell of a story

Good luck to all scanning ladies today...everything crossed for you.

Feeling a bit bleary today as DH and I made up for lost Christmas last night with lovely meal in fab country hotel. Choc fondant and dessert wine to finish...can't be doing with January health kicks this year.

Supposed to go back to evil old work tomorrow but my very sweet GP has signed me off for two weeks so think I'll spend a couple more days with my head in the sand :)

nickstermum · 03/01/2011 10:41

Choc welcome back too!! Safe trip, sorry she got you and messed you around over Xmas x

orestyemerrywombat · 03/01/2011 11:19

orange good luck today lovely I'm sending positive vibes!

Same to you owl for yours today/tomorrow xxx

Izz I'm keeping everything crossed for your sis. I really hope they manage to find a resolution that does not involve removing the tube!

Welcome back mummy and choccy. And pink love the new name!

hadrian that dinner sounds fab! I love pudding wine!

dachs please stick to uk hols in future! What a nightmare story!

My temps dropped this morning for the second day, though not below the coverline. Af due today so we shall see.. Boobs totally deflated but line on test stick maybe possibly a bit stronger this morning...i'm going to do a cb digital when I get home if af hasn't arrived and see what that says..

HongKongSantaBaby · 03/01/2011 11:23

Crikey Dachs Shock.... sounds like you must be due some good luck to make up for all that. Where abouts are you in your IVF cycle now?

Glad you enjoyed your belated Christmas Hadrian, what a nice idea.

Pink do tell all about Plan Positivity, I want some of that!

Owl fingers x'd for your scan too.

well while you lot continue with your exciting and busy days I am about to put my feet up on the sofa and watch some very bad Asian t.v. with a de-toxifying appletiser instead of wine

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 03/01/2011 11:45

Wow. Aren't we busy bees! Smile

good luck and fx for your scans orangeand owl. I hope we have good news!

I think I need a wet fish pronto. Temps shot up loads this morning and so of course I got way to excited and poas only to get a bfn which is hardly surprising as I'm only at 9dpo. So now I have promised myself that I will not test again until Thursday at the earliest under any circumstances.... Aarrgghh I can't wait....

DachshundsWantPuppies · 03/01/2011 12:19

hksb I had another scan today, looks like the follicles are growing slightly better than last time so fingers crossed there will be more eggs this time. The nurse today said that if they carry on like this, egg collection is likely to be next Monday or Tuesday. I have another scan on Wed morning so I'll know a bit more then, i hope!

orange if you're out there i hope everything went ok with your scan.

womby glad line is stronger. I have everything crossed for you.

Hadrian yum! I like dessert wine!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 03/01/2011 12:29

wombat lack of symptoms means nothing, I only ever got any in my 3rd pg and it was the first 2 that went smoothly. Fx you keep getting the stronger lines and af stays away x

ochaye · 03/01/2011 12:33

OMG Dachs! What a story! Next time, a holiday at home??? Great news about your treatment progress.

Izzy - I hope your sister sticks to her guns. I would expect them to give me very good reasons for removing the tube if I were her.

Pink - I'm so interested to hear about your positive thinking plan. I know a few people who could do with some of the same.

Hello mummy and choccy Smile. Lovely to meet you.

hadrian - do you have to tell your work why you're off? I'm just interested because if I need some time out at any point, I wouldn't want them to know IYSWIM?

Good luck with your test wombat - I hope it's all in your head. Will be thinking of you.

Thinking of you too orange and hoping for good news.

Oooooooo hiding ... exciting times! I feel for you. I'm so impatient and excitable in the 2ww! I think I'll be needing lots of wet fish if and when I get to that stage again.

We started SWI today Smile.

OrangeGloss · 03/01/2011 13:07

Hi everyone and thanks for the kind words. There was something there that measured 'about 5 weeks' when judging by LMP I'm 6+5. No heartbeat but if I really am 5 weeks then that's to be expected. I have had a blood test today and have one on Weds to monitor increase

I think I just feel numb at the moment, not good or bad news. I think i had implantation pains CD27/28, and got a BFP CD38. Any thoughts or theories are welcome

Sorry for selfish post :(

AandRMum · 03/01/2011 13:09

You need to write a book Dachs - bloody hell! I apologise unreservedly for Australia's shite medical system!!!! I am stepping away from all horses. . Did you break a mirror at some point - kill someone in a previous reincarnation - I am channelling some of *Pinkrabbit''s good karma and liberally dousing you in it - you will have a fantabulous year this year and all the crap of the last however many years will be like a bad dream!!! Glad the follicles are doing well - happy egg growing.

What a pain chocky I am never late either and it freaked me being late last month.

Pink come enlighten us with your positive plan!!

Good luck scanning ladies!

AandRMum · 03/01/2011 13:14

Xpost Orange that is fully within the figures - that is a late implantation and very late bfp so fx your hcg levels will rise beautifully in the next week. It is only micro mms between weeks at this point. The stats are with you sweetie no matter how much it doesnt feel like it at times. How horrible to have to wait!? Lots of feet up and TLC.

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 03/01/2011 13:18

Ladies, if I started to mc on 28th nov, should I have had a period by now?

owlbooty · 03/01/2011 13:18

They are notoriously bad at measuring correctly for dates at such an early stage, Orange - I would see what the blood test says as that will give them more information to go on. Good news that there is something there in the right place though!

My turn tomorrow - argh.

Wombat I got faint crappy lines on ebay cheapies for 3 days then caved and bought a proper test - which gave me a proper line. Fx tis the same for you :)

Hadrian your GP sounds ace, glad you got some more time off.

Did someone request the wet kipper?

Actually I probably need a right good slapping with that too.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 03/01/2011 13:41

orange I think (fx) that sounds good - bearing in mind your lmp date won't be accurate if you ov'd late...implantation on day 28/bfp on day 38 would indicate ov on day 21-25ish rather than the mythical "standard" day 14, so would actually fit a 5 week measurement now?

dachs forgot to say earlier but it all sounds very positive about the ivf this time...fx for lots of lovely eggs x

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 03/01/2011 14:03

Thank you everyone for the varied fish slapping (golly that does sound rather obscene doesn't it?). I am suitably chastened and resolved to wait for another 2 whole days [practises determined and virtuous face]

as has already been said it sounds like good news orange that the have found the bean and it is in the right place. At such an early stage I get the impression that sizes are pretty much arbitrary. Fx for the blood tests xx

for some reason I thought your scan was today owl so apologies and good luck for tomorrow!

on the detox subject me and dp have decided to go veggie for a month. Crazy I know! Anyways I made a darn amazing nut roast for Sunday lunch yesterday that went down very well... If I may say so myself. I am also planning on stopping the temping next cycle as I agree that it does make me a bit mad and just stress me out even more.

mwlsen · 03/01/2011 14:08

Can I join please? I had a miscarriage on New Year's Eve (well that's when I was discharged from hospital desperate to go so I could get drunk with my husband and friends in a rather surreal but fun night).
I had a stillbirth at 35 weeks in April so 2010 has been the worst year ever. We did conceive at the first try in November but then miscarried at 6-7 weeks. I have antiphospholipid syndrome so was taking aspirin and don't think that this miscarriage was connected to that.

Anyway am back on the baby making trail and feel rather desperate to conceive asap.

youremindmeofthebabe · 03/01/2011 14:26

mwlsen HelloSmile. You've had a terrible year. So sorry for both of your losses. Fx for 2011.

lovebeing I didn't get first period till 8 weeks after ERPC, but as mine wasn't natural MC I'm not too sure for the figures fot that. How are you doing?

daschs A massive woop for those follicles! that's really good news!

Now, who needs this wet jumbo kipper? Ah, hiding there you are! thwack Although we've all done pre-9 DPO testing here Blush

My detox starts tomorrow! I am taking it one day at a time, rather than telling myself a month, for example, and tomorrows goals are simple.

  1. eat 2 pieces of fruit and 3 Veg, minimum
  2. Eat none of the xmas chocolate
  3. drink no alcohol
  4. do some exercise.

I will review my goals on a daily basis.
izz etc, I thought I might start a thread over in healthy for us, do you fancy it? chilled and supportive, rather than militant! anyone else in?
