blimey - i don't post for a day and you're already on page 3 of the shiny new fred!

orange sorry to hear about your worry. I have everything crossed for you.

womby i still have everything crossed for you as well.

aandr Envy of your Oz trip! Although my honeymoon there was where everything started to go horribly wrong with my life, so I have some advice: avoid horses. And steps. And if you end up in hospital and need an operation, demand that they give it to you rather than letting them tell you to enjoy your holiday and have the op when you get home.

pink I'm ok. I really hate the ivf injections though! I have another scan tomorrow so hopefully I'll see some nice follicles growing. Although it still all seems like a hopeless waste of time and money at the moment.

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 14:43

Wombat don't give up hope just yet hunny! That happened to me last time, re the reabsorption. Theres nothing to say yet that this one is not a stayer and I think everyone is rooting for it :) xx but it is difficult to stay positive, no one knows your body like you do! Still two lines :) have you done a cb Digi which looks at between 1 and 3 weeks to see if it's increasing? When will be the earliest you can get in for a scan ?

Thinking about early mc, I don't know what could be the cause but isn't it thought that egg quality can cause very early mc? I dont know! I thought that must be what caused mine last time, or that it was poss a bad egg/sperm combination.

Orange Hope you too are also feet up and relaxed!

To tell you how obsessive my knicker checking has got, we were out for a lovely country walk this morn and yes, felt damp so fished out my stock of tissues, Down a country lane!! I know that's a bit mad, but needs must as they say!!

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 14:47

X posts baubles and dachs, b well done on the swi effort!! When did you ov?

Dachs good luck for lots of eggs!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 02/01/2011 15:20

aandr good to hear from you, and that you're managing to take the pressure off. Very Envy of your trip to Oz - sounds fab, and what a great way to relax! How long are you going for?

(((hugs))) to wombat and orange - still keeping everything crossed for you!

mamapower and pink I know this month might be tough for you with due dates coming up, but am hoping it ends in a big shiny bfp for both of you x

Mamapower · 02/01/2011 15:34

Hi Izzy, gotta say I'm not looking forward to DD but I think I got rid of my anger and shed my tears in December! Famous last words!

Sorry to hear about dsis. they suspected my first mc was ectopic, thankfully it wasn't but because they treated me as if it was until they could confirm otherwise (they identify the problem by a scan), this is what I learnt: first giveaway signs are pain on either your left or right side of the uterus... this makes sense as the pain is coming from a tube. However, this is the reason they suspected I was as I had severe right hand pain, it was just 'one of those things' for me! Also, I was asked whether I had pain in my shoulder blade, apparently another give away sign. I was told that 'if' it was ectopic, it would involve surgery BUT that DID NOT mean tube removal, as I understood it this is determined on an individual case by case basis and would be determined by several factors obviously including any damage done by the ectopic or by the surgery to resolve. Hope that helps hon and hope all goes well x

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 16:35

Also from a thread I read the other day Izz, they can give a pill/jab or whatever it is to try and dissolve what may be in the tube. I think if it ruptures there is a higher chance of tube blockage. Poor dsis :(

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 16:43

Not much nausea here Izz, keeping at bay eating what I feel I need to! Weetabix mainly!! I hope that's not a bad sign, I haven't had much sickness through 3 first trimesters, puked a total of six times, twice each!! Porn star norks tho so v pls about that bit!! Better than normal bee stings:)

Feeling good after a rest day yest feeling crap and a nice easy walk today.

dAncerandRudolfsMum · 02/01/2011 16:52

Hi Izz your poor sis. What a hard road she is on. A good friend of mine had an eptopic on a trip abroad where they kept insisting it was food poisoning. Thankfully it was finally caught and whilst she was pretty ill afterwards (huge blood loss but only because it took them so long to look), she now has two little girls with no apparent difficulty getting pregnant afterwards. She didn't lose a tube but another friend did and has gone on to have another child. It sounds like she is being caught early if that it is what it is. fx.

Orange as others have said, bleeding is surprisingly common and seems very common on here and I wonder if it is at all linked to mc as I remember reading that after mc you often have a lovely thick lining which to my way of thinking must mean more chance of bits coming away.

We are off on the 11th until 29th. DH booked it as soon as we found out about the mc as a bit of a silver lining. My family goes to Noosa (Sunshine Coast) every year for a big family holiday. We have done it since I was 8 years old and love the place. It also means I will get to see my Dsis's new baby who is due on the 13th. I was hoping to be preggers by the time we arrived there but hey ho it means I can do lots of watching sunsets drinking wine.

Nix LOL at knicker checking in the woods!!!

Dachs no horses involved in the trip so fx it will all be ok - most intrigued?!

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 17:13

Envy at AR mums trip abroad, how wonderful, what a tonic x good luck on the flight though Grin dont quite envy that bit Grin
xx I have a friend who has emigrated and who is living out in toowoomba, QL i think its called, no idea where it is but she has the right idea!! Grin

hairyfairylights · 02/01/2011 17:48

Izzy sorry to hear of your sisters issues :(

My first MC was suspected ectopic, aka 'pregnancy of unknown location'. I had rising HCG (very slowly rising) and they could not see anything on the scan, so they knew that it was not viable. It was identified as I started to bleed, but my hcg continued to rise, but way, way too slowly, and they could not see anything on scan.

As she has not been rushed in to hospital, I assume there is no danger of a ruptured tube. It does not necessarily mean removal of a tube. I was given a drug called Methotrexate, which dissolves the cells that are there (as it is not actually even an embryo yet at that stage) and you are advised not to TTC again for three months.

However, private consultant said it was ok to try sooner.

If she is offered this treatment, the NICE guidelines state that she should receive a tubular patency test afterwards, if she has had an ectopic, and if I were her I would push for it (I paid for mine in the end as the NHS wouldn't do it).

Wishing your sister well - really hoping resolution of the issue is easy and as stress free as possible.

hadrian · 02/01/2011 18:21

Hi all, just checking in to say hello and send big hugs to orange. Take it easy and try not to panic...I know how hard it is but worrying won't do anything except make you feel worse. Wishing you all the very best for tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your sister izzy and your friend ochaye. Never ceases to amaze me what women have to go through and what we are capable of coping with. Really hope everything works out for them.

OrangeGloss · 02/01/2011 18:32

Grin @ Nix porn star norks. Mine didn't change last time, but this time even before AF was due they'd grown and now I'd say I've gone from a D to an E. And knicker checking! I've been going the loo so many times I'm possibly dehydrating myself
YRMOTB my fx for a nice FF line. Better get some energy food ready :)
Mummya hopefully not long now until you are on TTC :) and may your stay be a short one
Izzy sorry to hear about your sister, she's lucky to have someone so supportive

Tempting fate here I haven't bled brown or otherwise since about 1, had the one wipe of red at 8, though I do have a mild cramp and backache now. I'm so glad I have a scan tomorrow, at least I'll know one way or the other

hairyfairylights · 02/01/2011 18:36

Sending hugs to you orange.

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 20:54

There you go orange... Symptoms!! A little reassuring :)
I am probably now still only a b cup Grin

nickstermum · 02/01/2011 20:56

So glad orange that nothing more for a good few hours! Sorry for the few posts, forgot what I wanted to write!

MummyAbroad · 02/01/2011 20:59

Helllooooooo!

I am feeling a bit daunted by the amount of reading back I am going to have to do to catch up (about an entire thread I think!) Anyone fancy giving me the highlights?Blush

hello and welcome to all the new ladies xxx

I see from the list that wombat and orange have BFP's - congratulations girls! Grin

orange hope you are not too worried about the bleeding, as others have said, it often means absolutely nothing. Fingers crossed for your scan. xxx

Nix so you had a good scan? Great news hon!! Does this mean you are ready to move into the grads list (but not the grads thread, please stay here!!Wink )

Dach best of luck with your next round of IVF. I can understand you feeling a bit despondant about it. I am also a bit scared of getting my hopes up in case it means just being disapointed again if things dont work out. I guess we both have to muster up some positivity from somewhere.Smile

Izz sorry about your sister, I am not an ep expert, but I have seen other threads where someone pointed out that tube removal can sometimes be an advantage, because if it is blocked then the risk of another ep is greatly reduced and you can still get pregnant with only one tube.

So today I am earnestly putting away ALL the christmas decorations. Last year I didnt bother getting them all down before the 12th of Jan and I pretty much had bad luck the whole year - so I have decided to embrace my superstitious side this time. Good job there isnt anyone selling lucky heather around here, i would probably bankrupt myselfGrin

Choccybick · 02/01/2011 21:05

HELLOOOOOOO and HAPPY 2011 everyone!!!

I´m currently crossing the North Sea on the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry and finally have time to surf the net in peace meaning I can catch up with you lovely ladies.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. Smile and that Santa and all the family and loved ones were good to you.

I must admit I haven´t read a single post yet since before Christmas so I don´t know whats been going on. I really hope it´s only positive news on everyones side.

Well we had a lovely time back in the UK and it was great to see all the family.

I had a bit of a drama concerning AF or rather no sign of her. I was supposed to get her on 23rd Dec. Ah now I remember telling you lot that when I was in the Luton premier inn on the way. No sign. Xmas eve no sign. Xmas day no sign. I did POAS at my sisters house after arriving and before Xmas lunch. NEGATIVE -so I tucked into the turkey dinner and killed the champagne. Lots of it - and wine..... LOL
Boxing day - no sign. Day after too -- this went on for days. I was through 3 POAS before the Bitch turned up. I have NEVER EVER been late before (exept when preggers pre mc), so you can imagine how on edge I was.
Well the Bitch has come and gone leaving me longing for good news in 2011 and for all the rest of you too.

I´m off to look for the stats and read what you´ve been up to. Grin hopefully lots of SWI Grin

MummyAbroad · 02/01/2011 21:28

Hey Chocky! Happy New Year to you too. Sorry about your three day torment - only 3 POAS is excellent though, I would have got through about 50! Blush Grin

Choccybick · 02/01/2011 21:37

Hi Mummy yeah I would have done more if I had been at home no doubt :-) It was 5 days late too!!!

Hi to newbies Hadrianand ochaye sorry to hear you had to find your way here and hope your stay with us is short (meant in positive way) ZamMummyingabs you too!

Orange thinking about you. big hugs.

Mummy welcome back we missed you! Hope you arent too tanned!! Are you excited to be getting back into the swing of things then?? Hope you had a wonderful break!

Yes a great scan, measuring right size, hb and looked like a teeny jelly baby! Still shitting it, another 3 weeks of the danger zone! Brown /tinged gloop comes and goes... As long as it goes!! Will go onto grads list if I make it to 12 weeks pliz, scared of tempting fate!

Glad you are back lovely xx

Ladybee · 02/01/2011 22:42

Lovely to see you back choccy - gawd that carry on with late AF and -ve tests must have tried your patience though.

Likewise MummyAbroad - I hope that the end of the hormones brings great things.

I am just hoping for good things for everyone tomorrow. I have fingers crossed.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 02/01/2011 23:10

Welcome back mummya !!!!! and choccy although I'm sorry af messed you around so much -she turned up at my house 4 days early on boxing day so, apart from wombat's Christmas bfp, has been unseasonably rude!!!

Thanks all for your kind thoughts for my dsis and especially to hairy and mamap for the info which I have relayed. She has no pain and nothing on scans, just slowly rising hcg...apparently consultant wants to do d&c then if nothing found, camera into tubes and is adamant that if there is anything in tube it will be removed. She is desperate to avoid this - understandably since this is the culmination of many years ttc with no baby Sad. Hopefully when she speaks to them tomorrow she will get someone slightly more flexible...

Anyway just wanted to say that I appreciate how you always take the time to pass on some support when you can, even when I know some of you are having difficult times yourselves. It's what makes this thread such a great place to be xx

HongKongSantaBaby · 03/01/2011 05:30

Hi just popping in to say hope today goes well orange will be thinking of you.

Sorry to hear about your poor sister Izzy, fingers x'd she gets helpful doc today.

OrangeGloss · 03/01/2011 05:56

Thanks HKSantaBaby :) I don't know what I would have done without everyone
Izzy your poor sister, what a frightening position to be in. She needs to be strong when it's going to be so difficult to be, hopefully the info she now has will help
Choccy damn her for turning up, but at least you had your champagne Christmas dinner
