Glittering seductively in the evening sun, crewed by swarthy slaves, waited on hand and foot by bare-chested manservants bearing a rudimentary form of gin.

We have golden temples decorated with hieroglyphs for sacrificial offerings (and woo from the soothsayers) if required, and The Pit is full of asses? milk.

So, put on your eye make-up that goes out as far as your ears and jewellery so weighty it leaves dents in your head and step out to survey the peasants on the banks.

Come join the 30s TTC if your womble is as ancient and crumbly as Tutankhamen! Egypt; the thread where everyone eventually gets to be a mummy whether they like it or not.

Oh Brown I am so so sorry. Lighting a mental candle and hoping for the best for you - but I'm with alps on demanding another scan. I'm really sorry about the way the doctor treated you too. During my last miscarriage the doc who examined me at a and e was really rough and didn't have a clue what she was doing. It's the last thing you need when you're feeling vulnerable isn't it. Very gentle hairstrokes to you xxx

Don't worry Alps re the 6 year old. Although that spell I cast on her has made her mother worry a bit Xmas Grin

Medee · 23/12/2010 10:33

Brown very sorry to read your news this morning.

Truffkin · 23/12/2010 10:50

Brown really sorry you are going through such a horrible time and also having to deal with wanky med staff. Hope you have the support you need. Big snogs.

BarbiesBeaver · 23/12/2010 10:51

BrownB so sorry to hear your news, and don't worry about bringing thread down, that's what it's there for. I hope you can get some confirmation as to what is happening one way or another and that the medical part is over with quickly.

I'm sorry the Dr wasn't very helpful or sympathetic. Don't underestimate the hormone crash afterwards and make sure you lean on this thread and RL friends as much as you need (and the following months). It is so unfair. Make sure you keep talking to your OH and look after each other. Taking Floradix can help rebuild your iron levels and help you feeling less like shit physically. Hope you get some proper answers and help today.

laurielou · 23/12/2010 10:56

Oh Brown I'm sorry to see your news this morning. Be kind to yourself & take care, x

Ariesgirl · 23/12/2010 10:57

Poor poor you Brownie. I'm so sorry and what a horrible time of year for it to happen. Not that it wouldn't be horrible at any time of year. Don't worry about venting on here - it's exactly what the thread is for :(

milanomum · 23/12/2010 11:11

Browner I'm so, so sorry to hear that. Hope you find some constructive help on the MC threads, meanwhile we are all here for hairstrokes, venting and for bad-mouthing your crappy Doctor, the patronising bitch.

BrownB · 23/12/2010 11:40

Thanks for kind wishes etc... was about to make it out of bed when the anti-stretchmark cream arrived in the post. Sigh. Went straight back to my covers.

Am away just after Christmas which messes up the timings for the follow-up scan. Have one booked for my return in the new year. So. Do I ski or not? Am relatively certain my hope is dashed, however until the second scan confirms that this is not happening, extreme sports may be stoopid in the extreme? Now. Let's talk about champagne at Christmas...

rocketleaf · 23/12/2010 12:05

oh brownie I am so very sorry to hear your news. That is utterly shit :( IDK about skiing, is there any chance you could get to an EPU before the trip? Today? At least to have some confirmation of what is going on before you go? Fuck sticks for crappy situation.

BrownB · 23/12/2010 13:11

Where are my swarthy slaves? I want some tea and mince pies brought to me in bed!!!

AlpinePony · 23/12/2010 13:25

brown Unless you're taking part in freestyle in Alaska, skiing is hardly extreme! Wink It will not affect the outcome of this pregnancy either way. But, the fresh air and standing on top of the mountain feeling as though you've the world at your feet may help your mood - and for me, when life is hurting I ski at my max so that the only thoughts I have going through my mind involve staying alive - not paying the bills/love life/career/etc. - I find nothing cleanses my soul like skiing.

I'm sorry, we crossed posts this morning and I'd not (at that point) seen the bit about the unhelpful doctor. :( I don't have any mince-pies - sorry. I hate them. I once ran away from school because I thought I was going to be forced to eat them. I do however have a slightly dog-eared (haired?) homemade banana cake with custard.

InTheSunshine · 23/12/2010 13:31

Brown sorry to hear your shite news. Sending some swarthy slaves your way complete with tea & mince pies.

BrownB · 23/12/2010 13:34

Baileys! You're on. Smile Think the skiing is also on, and I might even get up and face the day for a short while. While there's still some light. There are many things to do before Christmas, and I really don't care enough to do them if I'm honest, but I might find a bookstore and peruse the health section, and feed my latest obsession...

BrownB · 23/12/2010 13:38

PS AlpP - much respect! I can ski, but am always a little hesitant to go so hard that I fear for my life. Which is what fails me off-piste and on moguls. No hesitation allowed there...

BrownB · 23/12/2010 13:39

Thanks Sunshineyday. Much appreciation..

AlpinePony · 23/12/2010 13:39

"health section" + "feed my obsession" = does not compute! Wink Where are you off skiing? Down the local park or europe somewhere? I got Bear's passport in the post today so I can actually take him on holiday legally rather than smuggling him across the border in the hamper.

BrownB · 23/12/2010 14:09

Canada... The other side to the Rocky's - believe they have enough snow, but slightly smaller hills. My OH's family are out there, so will be pretty cool I reckon. Smile

BrownB · 23/12/2010 14:11

Perhaps the next thread should be set in a Chalet halfway up a mountain..?

laurielou · 23/12/2010 15:03

Before you all trek off to your chalet up a mountain, I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas & a fertile New Year!

I shall be leaving work soon & will be spending most of the next 2 weeks in a Quality Street coma - but I'll still be stalking occasionally!

PrincessBoo · 23/12/2010 15:24

If it is in a chalet up a mountain please can we make sure there's woods out back us hippies can dance nekkid in and make spells and shizz?

AlpinePony · 23/12/2010 15:33

Oooh Brownie I've never done that side of the country - erm... are you meaning the Frenchies or Newfoundland or something? I've only done Alberta/BC. I wanted to go back to Alberta in January but it's right bloody palava so am driving to Austria. :( [ungrateful]

boo Erm... Have you ever danced naked in Canada in January?

AlpinePony · 23/12/2010 15:39

Mid-30s Icy Shack-O'-Love, something about Apres-ski, Apres-20s, Apres-contraception? Confused I'm not very good at these fred names, but remember we wish to bar fertile teens! Wink

PrincessBoo · 23/12/2010 15:39

Hasn't everyone Alps?

OK, then noooooo, but am happy to do it virtually wearing bearskins or something.

AlpinePony · 23/12/2010 15:40

Can we do it with mounties?

(IME real life canadian mounties are sadly non-sexy. :()

PrincessBoo · 23/12/2010 15:42

Like it Alps
