Hi catmad and Betty. Just wanted to let you know that I'm trying to write to you but for some reason it won't let me!!

Iwish · 26/11/2010 08:29

Welcome Betty hope you are ok. I'm a bit rubbish with ov too I'm afraid. You could buy some opks and just give them a go. They sell cheapies on the Internet about 50 for a fiver. Think I'm going to try them too. I've heard a lot of people say to do 2 per day so that you don't miss the surge. And I know what you mean about obsessing, I try to stop myself symptom spotting on google when it gets to the 2ww!

Iwish · 26/11/2010 08:34

Hey catmad. It does make you feel a bit down/jealous when friends announce pg and you are still trying. My friend and I started trying at the same time and she's now 8 weeks pg! I was so happy for her but deep down a little jealous and upset. Chin up though as you aren't out until af arrives :). My af is due Sunday or Monday, im not optimistic but still fingers crossed. Hope you used your persuasive powers to get a bit more swi in lol ;)

catmad2010 · 26/11/2010 09:17

Thanks Iwish :) I suppose you're right! I think my symptoms were actually symptoms of OV, just different symptoms to what I normally get so got a bit excited....kept saying to my DH - "Feel my boobs! I'm sure they're really hot!"...he obliged (funny that...!) but think he was agreeing with me to keep me happy. Anyway, all symptoms gone and if it was ov we SWI'd the day after and least it means I'm still fertile... :) It must be so hard for you with your friend - it's difficult not to get jealous isn't it!! Makes me feel like a horrible nasty person but it's only natural.

And like you say - for you too, you're not out til AF actually arrives :)

I am now making DH cooked breakfast...the persuasion has started in earnest.... Grin

Iwish · 26/11/2010 09:28

Haha funny, Bet he obliged!
Hmmm yeh I need to take my own advice I reckon :)
Yeh jealousy makes you feel awful but like you said it's only natural and you aren't a nasty person for feeling it.
Hope your DH enjoys his breakfast, I'm sure he knows your motive lol. off to work for me unfortunately.

BettyStogs · 26/11/2010 13:23

Hello Iwish, thanks for your reply. I will have a look into getting some OPKs off the internet - the prices in Boots scared me a bit!!

Was feeling a bit down yesterday but DH helped me put it in perspective, we've not been trying that long really, but like you & catmad my friends seem to be popping them out all over the place!

Iwish · 26/11/2010 18:06

Hi Betty. Yeh you should have a look. It's eBay I've been looking on. I've seen one where you get a Basel thermometer and a mixture of opks and early oh tests and it's £8.99 plus p&p so I'll wait to see if af arrived on Sunday and if so I'll get ordering lol. I did use the clearblue smiley face ones but they are waay to expensive!
How long have you been ttc? Since April or did you just start recently? I'm on cycle #4 and it feels like forever. Are you feeling happier today? Think I just cry every time af comes, I know it can rake a while but you homones don't accept that lol.

Iwish · 26/11/2010 18:37

Haha I meant to say I know it can take a while but my hormones won't accept that!

BettyStogs · 26/11/2010 20:51

Yes feeling ok today thanks. Only been properly ttc since July so about the same as you. Does feel like ages though.

InnocentRedhead · 27/11/2010 17:48

Bumping for you guys,

I'm here too trying to conceive a 2011 child :)

sweetju · 27/11/2010 23:16

Help please!!

Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice.. I'm now 10DPO (I think so anyway, as I'm pretty sure I ov'd late this month..) Anyways, I did a preg test this morning and had a BFN and another this afternoon which was also a BFN! I don't really have any other signs but my last 2 cycles have been 28 days since coming off the pill 3 months ago, so technically I was due thursday....

Bit confused! soo want to be preg!!

Ta in advance guys, any advice is much appreciated!!!

x

Jules

catmad2010 · 28/11/2010 02:18

Hmmm sweetju, I'm not sure really as I'm confused about how you have to wait til after your AF is due before you can test, but what if like you you might have implanted not that long before AF is due, and then by testing on the day of AF (or just after) it will really be testing too early to tell?! Am probably not making much sense here...long shift at work, 2am finish....but basically...maybe you tested too early? Confused

Iwish · 28/11/2010 14:57

Hi guys. Hope you are all ok?
SweetJu what length is your lp usually? If you usually have a 14 day lp then you may not be due af for another 4 days. From what I've gathered your lp pretty much stays the same every month so if you ov late u will get af later.
Hi Catmad and Innocent :)
I'm sulking today, woke up with cramps so I'm 99.99% sure af will arrive today or tomorrow. Having a down day :(

Welcome Buggerlugs! hope you are well. I came off the pill after 10 years on it and I'm now coming to the end of cycle #4 ttc and I know exactly what you mean about finally knowing what it means to be a woman! I never took any notice of cm, cervix, ovulation and never needed to chart as af was religious on the pill! Does your cycle seem to be normal etc after coming off? I'm sure it will happen for you soon enough, wish it would bloody hurry up for me lol. :)

catmad2010 · 29/11/2010 08:32

Hi iwish - ah hope AF doesn't arrive today for you! It's rubbish isn't it. Chin up, just means if it does you've got another month enjoying SWI - and you can have a final boozy Christmas :)

For some mad reason I did a pg test yesterday, no idea why really and of course it was BFN! TTC really does send you round the bend doesn't it!

Hi buggerlugs :) I started TTC the same time as you though I've been wanting to for about 2 years - DH has been quite good about my impatience really, we're trying to go with the flow too. I'm constantly worrying that I might be infertile (or DH is), and can't bear the idea of not being pg next year. Enjoy all your SWI! Grin

Iwish · 29/11/2010 09:51

Hi catmad thanks v much, im still hoping and clinging onto the last little bit of hope and as of now nothing :) but we all prob know that af just tends to surprise us at stupid times of the day! Anyway I'm feeling slightly more upbeat today and I've told dp that im shopping with his mum and if no af when she drops me off at home in going to the nearest supermarket :)
Any more mysterious symptoms?

Iwish · 29/11/2010 14:49

Well tested and bfn! Looks like I mite just be due af a little later than usual. Grrr onto month #5 :(

catmad2010 · 29/11/2010 20:58

Ah bugger it Iwish! Sending hugs :) Sad for you :( but like I said....a season of festive drinkies awaits! It's the only thought that keeps me going whenever I think about not being pg before xmas. I am in fact just about to take a sip of my first glass of wine of the evening....all my mysterious symptoms have gone, however (TMI...) have just been to the loo and there was a little bit of blood....maybe AF one week early but of course now kidding self that it's implantation bleed...but the glass of wine was already poured so....

Iwish · 29/11/2010 21:22

Oooh yeh u could have imp bleed! There's always that chance since af is still a week away, fingers crossed for you :). I was thinking about Christmas drinkies and then looked at my calendar and af would be due christmas day or boxing day ish! What a rubbish day! Although bfp on Christmas day would be sooo sweet. If not then getting merrily drunk it is lol :)
I am a little confused tho, cramps have almost gone and my boobs are sore. Sometimes I wish I could stick a little camera in there and see what's going on :)

notreallymyname · 29/11/2010 22:09

Awww, sorry you got a negative IWish :(

just an aside really, but when on the pill you don't have af; it's just a withdrawal bleed which is why it's always regular. In fact, the only reason you have a week off and a withdrawal bleed apparently is when it was invented they thought women would prefer the pill to replicate their cycle to seem more natural. So being 28 days on the pill doesn't have any bearing on your own cycle.

I still can't tell if I'm feeling symptoms or it's just wishful thinking. Ive been super tired and overslept a few times, along with the cold I'm not sure my temperatures tell me either way :( so will just have to wait till the weekend to know for sure...

And hello and good luck to everyone who joined :)

Iwish · 29/11/2010 22:28

Hi Notreally. Thanks for the info, I didn't know that, just thought you had to have that break.
Tiredness is a sign, fingers crosses for you. Is af due at weekend or can you do an early test then?
Wish I know what my body was doing, af not here, sore boobs, cramps almost gone... Weird!!

notreallymyname · 30/11/2010 00:32

Yeah, with #1 I felt odd, not really sick but fussy with food and tired. And thought I had a water infection from needing to wee all the time (sorry, maybe TMI). I was on the pill so I wasn't expecting to be pregnant or looking for symptoms. Only tested because ex said 'are you?' half joking and I was ruling it out.

Last time I was really tired and on the edge of nausea, needed to suck sweets when driving far to keep it away; but it wasn't strong and faded away before the mc (about 10weeks). I knew from charting too that my temp had risen not dropped, even before I missed my period. This time I'm unreliable about charting, so there's a bit more wait and see; I guess I'll know if no period by about Sunday. I probably could test earlier, but I won't think i'll wait for an actually late period so I don't get all hopeful in case I'm not.

Not been feeling sick, but have been tired and really hungry. And been getting super hot when doing yoga, even though not been doing anything especially demanding.

Don't know whether to cross fingers that your af shows up so you know or doesn't and the test was just too early! Sounds like you know af was due though? I'll just cross and you can decide :)

catmad2010 · 30/11/2010 06:52

Thanks Iwish - got cramps this morning (up at 6:30am on day off...what's this all about!?) and a tiny smear of blood so am thinking that beloved AF has suprised me by coming a week early....if so that's taken a whole week of SWI off me! Hmph! Nature is cruel sometimes! Will wait and see though...yes I agree, would be brilliant to be able to stick a camera up there and see what's going on! :) It's such a guessing game half the time! We women definitely have the short straw sometimes I think!

Fingers crossed for you! And for you too notreally :)

notreallymyname · 30/11/2010 09:04

A small amount of bleeding a week could possibly be implanation bleeding. So fingers crossed back for you too; until you know more. ties fingers in strange knots :)
