Hi all
I didn't want to hop on a bus because i'm not really aiming for a specific month to have a baby in so i thought i'd start a general "trying to conceive a 2011 baby" and see if anyone wants to join me :D

Hiya everyone
Well I've been trying to conceive now for three months.. actually just did a pregnancy test as I'm due next week, but have 1st response tests which you can do early and I had a BFN! Disappointed but who knows as it is quite early...

Its funny cos I was all laid back initially but it must be my competitive side that wants to get pregnant asap! hehe

Has anyone confided in anyone about ttc? I've kept it quiet cos want it to be a big surprise for everyone when i do get pregs!

Anybody know about BBT? Am thinking of starting.... xxx fairy dust to all *xx

Magichomes - theres a lube in boots that apparently is sperm safe and even is supposed to help the sperm reach their egg!i'm thinking of using it.. :)
apparently taking evening primrose oil in the first few weeks after period helps fertility too - anyone done this?? x

Hi everyone! I am 31 and just started TTC #2. I am currently on my second TWW. Don't really feel like it took this month but DH and I gave it our allGrin. Thinking of getting cheapo OVP strips off the internet once AF makes an appearance. Best wishes for all!

Iwish · 21/11/2010 22:21

Hi all. Hope you are all ok. Can I join this thread?
I'm 25 and we are on cycle #4 ttc #1. Havnt tried doing bbt yet and tried opks this time but didn't get one smiley face!! Tried some cheap tesco opks and the last 2 i did had v faint lines on!! Didn't bother 2 buy any more.
magen If not successful this time I will be going in search of Internet cheapies 2. I have seen some on eBay which looked ok. Have you bought them before?

InnocentRedhead · 21/11/2010 23:23

I'll join your hope for 2011 child. I am not bothered when obv sooner the better, but any child to love at any time will be a blessing!

Magen · 21/11/2010 23:30

Iwish- no I haven't tried any OPKs before, but I saw the ones on ebay too. DH would have a fit if I spent money on the ones in the store. But if I do I will let everyone know how they work out. If you go to
early-pregnancy-tests.com they have people that posted pictures of their successful tests. They are the same ones on sale at ebay. I know that's no guarantee that they work, but it does make me hopeful.

MrsVidic · 22/11/2010 07:08

i'm going to join! We are going to start trying in jan for dc 2, dc 1 was a suprise to say the least, she,s 16 months now. Anyway apart from the sex what do you have to do when? Ie do certain positions help more? I would happily start ttc now but dp wants a sept baby as dd is july born. I am so excited!

catmad2010 · 22/11/2010 07:46

Hi everyone,

How is it going?

Welcome to the thread new ladies! Grin Be nice to share some stories on here!

Does anyone know how soon you can get pg symptoms after implantation? I'm at the insane "everything is a symptom" stage...driving myself so mad I've got up early on a day off! I've got really tender nipples Blush today and yesterday (never get them even with AF) but we only SWI once last week and the week before....?? Am I imagining things? Confused

Iwish · 22/11/2010 08:35

Thanks magen that's v helpful, I'll have to have a look on there.
welcome MrsV I've read a few things on the Internet that day positions matter and a few places say that doggy style is good to get his little swimmers close to the cervix and women on top isn't too good as the little swimmers flow back out, sorry I know maybe TMI. I do hear a lot of people saying to lie on your back for 20-30 mins after with your hips elevated too. Not sure if it actually does help but worth a shot hehe.
Hi cat welcome to you too :) are you ttc #1? I drove myself mad the last couple of months too with all sorts, sore boobs, sore nipples, sickness. Can all be a sign of af and pg. Fingers crossed for you. And for us all!

Iwish · 22/11/2010 08:48

Welcome innocent. Hope you are well :)

catmad2010 · 22/11/2010 10:50

Hi Iwish :)

I'm TTC#1 - we've been trying since the beginning of Sept. I'm sure my sore nipples are the result of my constantly prodding and poking and not anything else! Grin However I'll drive myself mad for a while longer, AF isn't due until the 6th Dec...

Sweetju - I've confided in a few of my closest friends. I've been ridiculously broody for a few years though, and everyone (and I mean everyone!) knows I want a baby so people do ask me though I deny it to the vast majority of people. I'm not the sort of person to keep things schtum as I always need to talk to people about things - I figured that my close friends are the ones I'd tell if I got pg and mc'd early, or the ones I'd turn to if I had problems concieving. The ones that know have children already so they're good for advice and support.

MrsV - I heard that missionary is meant to be the best, and a friend of mine told me that she used to lie on her back with her legs in the air after sex to help the sperm swim better....I tried that too! Grin Think it's psychological...my DH nearly died laughing at me though! Blush My friend now has twins though so.....

Good luck everyone! Grin xxx

Iwish · 22/11/2010 16:25

Hi all. I'm driving myself mad now - for the last few months (since I came off the pill) I get strange cramps from about 10-12 days before af is due and they don't stop till af is finished. I don't know why and it's doing my head in. As soon as they start i just know theres going to be no baby. Anyone have any ideas?

sweetju · 22/11/2010 18:38

Hi guys

To anyone who's been saying about getting symptoms, i soo know how you feel.. I've been ttc for 3 months now, and this month i've had nausea the past week off and on, which i never get, but like some of you have said, you don't know if it's in your head or not! though i must admit this nasea certainly feels real and i never have it.. who knows!!

anyone in the 2ww? i'm due on thurs i think, tho i think i ov'd late... did a test on sat but was neg.. trying to wait now to test again!! its sad seeing that one line!!

mrsv and catmad - i know what ya mean about lying on your back! i just started doing it this month after sex, its hilarious!! you do feel a little silly but apparently it can help the sperm reach destination: egg!! anyhing to give those boys a helping hand hey!! :D

jules x fairy dust sprinkles to you all!!x

InnocentRedhead · 22/11/2010 20:18

hello all, and thank you to Iwish for the welcome. Yes i am well thank you, hope you are too, and sweet and catmad and vidic and magen HELLO!

Basically me and DP have spoke about trying for a while, and i had my implant removed a week ago and being SWI since then :) it's fantastic, knowing that the love you feel between the two of you when you become one can make a new innocent life. Sorry if a little TMI.

I'm TTC #2, but this is the first time i will be able to be a mum. My first child was sadly taken away from me when 6 days old, he was very ill.

I think i ovulated 3 days after having the implant removed, i have had the withdrawal bleed after having it removed, which is a good sign. So the cramps and my basal temperature change were either ovulation or the withdrawal. Hoping it was ovulation :)

And bloody hell, i'm already in the stage of thinking that any symptom is a symptom, well i did have metallic mouth yesterday and today! :o

The tip with the legs in the air, i most defiantely will have to try that :o

Good luck ladies, and make sure we take care of ourselves. And don't forget your folic acid :)

ElJuegoDelAngel · 22/11/2010 21:52

Hi guys, mind if I join this ttc gang? Grin

None of my good friends have children/are ttc so am feeling a little lonesome! age 26, ttc no. 1, recently been de-implanted and like magichomes have been getting my head round the babymaking basics (you can't just get pregnant immediately, anytime??! Confused who knew... Blush)

Don't know when/if I've ovulated since implant was removed so also no idea when af is due. incredibly mildly frustrating... Did a first response pregnancy test on sunday as patience is clearly not a strong suit, but bfn.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one indulging in a bit of the legs over the head post-SWI session! (my boyfriend clearly thinks I am a mentalist, but appears to have resigned himself to that fact Wink) Good times.

Iwish · 23/11/2010 08:55

Welcome ElJuego. Hope you are ok. I lie there with a pillow under my bum and my dp thinks I'm loopy too haha. Told him if it helps I don't care :). Are you planning on using opks or temping?
Hi innocent I'm good too thanks for asking.
Hope everyone else is ok today. I think I'm out for this month, cramps have starting coming more frequently as usual!! Damn!

catmad2010 · 23/11/2010 16:40

Hi

Iwish - I'm not charting, temping or anything like that - my DH works away a lot of the time so I figured that if I knew to the day when I was most fertile, and he happened to be away, I'd get really worked up about it. So choosing to be blissfully ignorant for the moment....I've got a vague idea about when I am though so...

ElJuego - I know exactly what you mean about not knowing you can't get pregnant at any moment! I was like.. "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!" - spend your whole life trying not to be pg and then when you want to be you realise it's like the golden ticket!

Innocent - I was really good about taking my folic acid for the first 4 months but then got a bit demotivated and thought it might never happen for me - must start taking them again now! Smile I am so sorry to hear about your first baby, that must have been very difficult for you. Wishing you lots of extra luck this time round Smile

catmad2010 · 23/11/2010 16:42

Lol sweetju and iwish! Glad to see I am not the only mentalist lying waggling with my legs in the air after SWI! Grin

Magen · 23/11/2010 16:56

I swear by staying in bed with a pillow under you for about 20 min. I have no scientific evidence, but that is what I did when we conceived our daughter, so I am trying it for #2 as well.

Iwish · 23/11/2010 17:49

It's amazing what we are all willing to try to get our little bundle of joy lol!!
Think I will try opks and temping next time and see how far it gets me, i have just been relaxed about it up to now but as soon as af comes I'm trying my new approach haha. :)

notreallymyname · 23/11/2010 18:01

Can I tag on? I may or may not be here for long as tried to catch ovulation last Friday. It's just that the waiting is already getting to me, and I'm in a strange real life situation so feel best to keep it quiet till I know for sure - have name changed for the same reason. I chart (sympto-thermal) so I'm hoping my temperature will give me clues before I can test.

I have #1 already, and got pregnant last year but miscarried and didn't feel up to trying again for quite a while.

Iwish · 23/11/2010 18:34

Welcome notreally. Sorry to hear about your mc.
When is your af due?

notreallymyname · 23/11/2010 18:36

The first weekend in December - it seems so far away!

Iwish · 23/11/2010 18:59

Mine is due sometime between Sunday and Tuesday I think, the 2ww goes so slow!! I think I'm out tho cos I've got the usual cramps. We will all have to keep eachother entertained and it will fly by :).
