Just to make sure we all become members of 'The Christmas Club' I've put something in the wine.... Wink

Hi all, just sticking my head around the door before I drag myself to bed! It's been a very busy few days for me, not least because I received a letter from the college running my degree telling me that I need to bring a copy of my 1st essay with me to their open day on Saturday so they can see how I am getting on.

this would be the essay that, up until yesterday, I hadn't started writing Shock. Not that I was leaving it to the last minute or anything, I was just doing lots of reading and making notes. The letter prompted me to stop farking around and get on and write the darn thing!

It's only 1,000 words but the topic is so vague that I didnt know where to go with it. I've managed 835 words now, so with a bit of tweaking here and there I should make the limit with no problem.

If anyone is interested my essay is on Equine Colic!

It was the referencing that took A LOT of getting used to, but I think I've got the hang of it now.

Temps are doing what they are supposed to at the moment, but I'm still not going to assume anything until the fat lady sings, or at least ERTD shows up. If it was ovulation then things don't bode well for any lucky baby dust anytime soon for me, as DH goes away for two weeks soon. Personally, I'll just be happy if ERTD shows up - never thought I'd say that, but with 100 days rapidly approaching I will gladly embrace her!

Flick I hope the spray tan went well - I'm one of those "pale and interesting" types, mostly because I can't be arsed to faff about with fake tan!

slow repeat after me "Step away from the pee sticks"! That way madness lies!

raspberry go you with the pole dancing. I'd love to give it a try but lets be honest, with a full time job, a degree and a salsa class on my hands I don't really have time for it Grin

[waves] to everyone else. Hope you are all well and staying relatively sane!

Here's hoping for some BFPs soon!

maamalady · 29/09/2010 22:14

Would someone mind explaining "The Christmas Club"? I've seen it before and I still don't get it... If we all get BFPs now then our children will neither be conceived nor born at Christmas, and I can't think what else it would refer to! Hmm

HRHCavey · 29/09/2010 22:22

Evil it refers to the fact that anyone who falls pregnant in the next few weeks will be able to announce their pregnancy to friends and family at Christmas - they'll be about 10-12 weeks at that point.

TomboyWife · 29/09/2010 22:41

Josie I had my top wisdom teeth come in at a funny angle too. Fortunately the funny angle didn't interfere with any other teeth, but the dentist took one look and ordered the wisdom teeth pulled anyway. I had all four out and it wasn't too bad, so try not to worry.

MissFlick · 30/09/2010 00:42

Morning all,

I have new found love and respect for my husband after last nights activities... SWI whilst trying not to touch me so as not to smudge the spray tan Grin It was not a pretty sight I can tell you ladies! I am sure your might is boggling... All that matters is mission was accomplished Grin Who said romance was dead?!

cave if you need any help with referencing I have a few documents that I could send your way that we use to help our year 12's and 13's when they are writing essays. I am sure you have got it cracked though :) I wonder, do you treat equine colic the same way as infant colic?! You will be an expert if so!

raspberry the spermies can live up to 5 days, some super spunk can even last 7 days so there is plenty of hope :) try not to feel down remember that you have a lovely life and a lovely DH and that it WILL happen :)

gards my landing strip is straight- phew! I went to the most amazing place- they have branches in England and all over the world has anyone ever been ministry of waxing It was the best wax I have ever had!! I am a tiny bit orange... However, I think it will have toned down nicely by the wedding on saturday (fingers crossed!) How are you doing my lovely? Are you doing ok on the higher dose?

josie poor you :( My BIL had his wisdom teeth out and although it was painful he says it was the best thing he has ever done.

Hope you all have a lovely Thursday- love to all, especially lanky and womanly xxxx

JosieSmith1 · 30/09/2010 09:18

Raspberry it sounds like a good idea to have a date in your head for testing, especially before a party as that way you?ll enjoy the party a bit more either way

HRHCavey I?m interested! I?m doing one on welfare issues surrounding livery yards. You sound like me though ? write most of it then wing the rest of the word count! Grin Referencing is a nightmare

Thanks Tomboy and MissFlick, everyone seems very willing to tell me their horror stories but no-one has said anything nice about having wisdom teeth out! Hopefully it?s just the top ones I?ll need out as the dentist said the bottoms ones are more complicated but hopefully if the top ones come out then the problems should stop. It sounds daft, especially as I?m terrified of dentists, but I?m quite excited about having it out as I know then I?ll be able to eat properly

Not much to report here, no SWI last night as we were both so tired we just fell straight asleep. But I have a cunning plan ? I am going to set half a job Harry a challenge every day (todays is to do the dishes, but also put them away and clean the draining board) and if he figures out all of what I want him to do, then I will repay him Wink

Hope everyone is ok

Morning everyone - I hope you are all well Smile

Raspberry how are you feeling today? Don't worry about not having any symptoms - your mini berry could still be having a look around to work out where s/he wants to bed in. Good idea about setting a date to test!

HRHCavey you are a superwoman with all that on your plate - motherhood will be a doddle for you! I do hope you get some sort of action from your cycle soon - and that you don't break the 100 days barrier.

Miss Flick good news about your landing strip! Thanks for the link to the waxing place too - might well check it out soon as I'll be going for a follicle tracking scan next week and for some ridiculous reason I can't stand turning up looking untidy!

And SWI without smudging the tan? VERY impressive! Well done all round Grin

Thanks for asking about the clomid - the higher dose seems fine ... it is still making me sleep wonderfully deeply! I had a bit of blurred vision yesterday but that seemed to clear up after a glass of wine Wink I am just keeping my fingers crossed that it works this time round - even getting to the hcg shot would be a bonus regardless of any pg action afterwards!

Womanly how are you doing today? Do you have any more scans booked to check on the interloping cyst? Hope you are OK Smile

Josie I LOVE the idea of sex as an incentive for housework ... inspired! Part of my clomid regime is an enormous 10 day SWI-athon where we have to do it every day. Just imagine how clean my house will be if I adopt your strategy!

Slow how is your resolve today? I hope you have managed to stay clear of the sticks! They are bad little stick goblins...!

Alien the CBFM has always sounded like a good idea to me! I know loads of people who fell pg once they started using it. I'm on clomid so don't think I can use it as my temps and hormones are all over the place anyway but if I wasn't, I'd def give it a go. Is it sort of like having a brand new toy?

Lanky how are you doing? Hope you're well.

Highheels hope you are OK with coming off the clomid. Have you managed to sort out the HSG yet? (Sorry if you have and I missed the post!).

Big waves to everyone else and happy Thursdays all round xxx

Big waves to everyone else

slowshow · 30/09/2010 13:57

Well Pixie I'm afraid I have zero resolve! I'm using at the moment for reassurance that the ol' ovaries work (got a positive yesterday so that's good!) but I don't think I'll use them every cycle.

Famous last words. No doubt I'll get sucked into a CBFM because I love a gadget.

Flick - I've just been looking at the Ministry of Waxing website - hilarious! I have never been waxed (too embarrassed / cowardly) but I am tempted...

gardenpixie · 30/09/2010 15:11

Slow I know what you mean; and please don't think that just because I say sticks are evil and should be ignored that I don't use at least a million every time I pee the odd one every now and again ... Grin

JosieSmith1 · 30/09/2010 16:51

Ha ha, thanks Garden, feel free to use the housework for sex regime! I'll let you know how it works. I'm out shopping with mam tonight so have set DH the task of doing the dishes, but also putting them away and cleaning the draining board as he usually leaves dirty water all over it and it's filthy when I come in, so hopefully he'll figure it out, especially as it's CD14 of a 28day cycle today! Grin

maamalady · 30/09/2010 18:30

Aha, I see! Thanks, Cavey!

It's day 27 for me today, the anxious waiting starts here. Temps are a bit wobbly but on the whole still above the coverline. I am trying not to get my hopes up though as I know it's pretty damn unlikely that I'll be pregnant on the first real cycle I've had since I was seventeen!

HRHCavey · 30/09/2010 19:54

evil I'll be keeping everything crossed for you - you are my inspiration at the moment. I know there is light at the end of the never-ending-cycle tunnel!

Flick thanks for the offer re referencing, I think nI understand it now but I may take you up on the offer of help further down the line!

Josie the problem with this essay is that it is very vague - only 20% of the marks are for the content, the other 80% are in relation to the written English, referencing, etc.
I've also got to put together a PowerPoint presentation based around the essay.

Right, dinner beckons me.

Happy Thursday all!

raspberrytipple · 30/09/2010 20:26

Evening,

I have been to the gym and got myself a mega arm weights programme to get me nice and strong for pole, my arms are so fatigued I can barely type for the shaking in them!!! Very impressed with self Grin good me.

Josie I love your idea to repay chores with a bit of rumble. It wouldn't work in our house because I am a lazy bint, DP does more than me and he couldnt be bothered to offer sex as an incentive. Hmm ohh, and re horror stories about wisdom teeth removal....... I've had two out at the dentist and they came out very quickly, its just a slightly odd pulling feeling but if you've got a good dentist they will have it out in no time. The thing I find worst, and dont judge me ladies, my jaw aches keeping it open for more than a minute so keeping my gob open while they do it is problematic. Blush I am also a pain in the arse as due to my asthma they cant lay me right down on my back, if they do I start to cough really bad so they have to do it with me from pretty much sat up and so given all the criteria they have to meet before I will let them near me, they still have made my experiences not too bad. You'll be fine don't worry, get in the chair, count to 60 and it will be out by 20, and make sure you have someone with you for a while when you get home to look after you!!!

garden I did chuckle at your needing a landing strip for your scan, I would be the same. I was mortified when I got up the gym, I realised I hadnt done my arm pitts since Monday!!! They were a tad fluffy Shock doesnt help that the gym instructor is very fit so I just got all embarrassed. I am feeling a bit better today although not even a tad preggers. Oh well, at least I can get pissed at the party next Friday. Theres always a postive....

missflick I have had a spray tan before, I cant begin to imagine how you ahem... did it without smudging!!! hats off you to Grin and yes you are right, I do have a lovely live and DP so I am very lucky. It will happen when its meant to happen. Ive just never been very patient and I want it to happen now!!

HRH I think you should give pole a go, Im sure you can squeeze another hobby in! You will be super mum indeed when your lo arrives. There is a woman at work we all call super mum. She has two children, her own business and works part time with me. In her spare times she makes birthday cards and amazing cakes for us all when it is out bday etc! She is super mum. oh and I also hate referencing, I am crap at it, I make it up and it differs between assignments, Ive never got the hang of it. I really should because it loses me marks. Sad

slow beware if you are a virgin waxer, it god damn hurts!! always brings a tear to my eye.

evil fingers crossed for you xx

Right I'm off, I'm absolutely knackered so hello to all else. I should really pack some things as we are going away for a blast on the bikes this weekend but I really cannot be bothered. I shall be back on Sunday evening I believe so have a good weekend all! Here's to fingers crossed for a dry, booze free weekend xx

alien06 · 30/09/2010 20:38

hey
Miss FLik I go to Ministry of Waxing off Oxford Street, London, it is the best!

Evil fingers crossed!!!

garden it is like a new toy, just got to wait for ERTD to start using it lol

Thank goodness it is Friday tomoz!!! I am going out for my first night out for ages!!! Me and a lady from work , cant wait, im drinking too, when I hardly ever do lol whooopeee, cocktails all round :0) Also feeling a bit low so am choosing a sexy outfit so that I feel a bit better :)
xx

alien06 · 30/09/2010 20:42

raspberry no I don't think that is weird!, it is a useful pressie! My hubby hates Xmas pressies that have no use! It is really hard as his bday is on 27th Dec so causes so much hassle lol, am thinking of a foot spa as he loves me giving him foot massages , then I always get him footie shirt and his computer game lol

Saying that he is in a mood at the moment so he may not get anything! I hate it when men get in a bad mood and then thats it, foul mood alllll night , he has gone to sit upstairs to watch tv and left me on my own :( and it is the first evening that we have had together all week! grrr

rant over, i am not actually that bothered as I have time to go on here hahahahaha
x

alien06 · 30/09/2010 20:42

ps- FLickcan my UCL please be changed to 31-32 please :)

Toriajayne · 30/09/2010 21:38

Evening ladies, sorry I'm not really about atm, what happened on Monday is still weighing on me heavily, and now some pretty upsetting details about the backstory are coming to light that are keeping me otherwise occupied. Wont go into it now, it's long, depressing and there's a lot still to be resolved.

I've been reading Emma Cannon, OH is taking an interest as well and read the bit for men, the bit on sperm and the bit on fertility type and discussed with me which he thinks I am (cold with a touch of blood stangnant, bring on hot soup!)

Sorry I can't reply to everyone properly, I'm about to go pack and sleep, away tomorrow night for the weekend as well, so probably wont be on again until Sunday/Monday, so have a fab weekend ladies! Hope anyone due to PO any kind of S gets good results and you all enjoy your SWAWOI!

Oh, and Flick or whoever does the list tomorrow, I'll be on CD4, ERTD got me the other day!

Kaloki · 01/10/2010 00:40

Can whoever does the list next stick me back on, helps me keep track of stuff.

ERTD turned up, lasted three days, stopped for 24 hours then started again Hmm. And I am still cramping. For those of you who remember that far back, the cramps started in June.

Hopefully the ultrasound results will be back by tomorrow when I see the doctor. Tired of this now.

Anyway, my stats are

TTC#1 Cycle11 UCL32 CD5

Also, went through the old frolickers threads earlier (just to check my dates ready for the doctor) - can't believe it's been so long. There aren't too many of us left over from the old threads, and it's good to know so many have graduated, but it's tiring isn't it?

Bellaby · 01/10/2010 07:17

Morning Lovely Ladies

Just wanted to pop in to say Happy Friday! My favourite day of the week especially when it gets to 4pm

Hope you all have lovely weekends planned

Will try and pop in for a longer post over the weekend

xxx

alien06 · 01/10/2010 07:23

Morning everyone :)

Kaloki sorry to hear that ERTD arrived, but reading about all the graduates is really uplifting! I am sure that we will all be creating another thread about BFP's soon !

Morning Bellaby Happy Friday to you too :) Hope you have a lovely weekend too.

Flick morning to you to
And morning to everyone else :) We have Jeans for Genes day today so can go into school a la casual whoop!

gardenpixie · 01/10/2010 10:14

Yay my conference call has been cancelled so I can now dedicated some proper time to MN.

Raspberry I am very impressed with the weights! I am rubbish in that all I do is go running so my legs are relatively strong (have to be to carry my lardy behind around the park) but my arms are puny. I need to do press ups or something as well as running

Alien sorry you are feeling a bit down but getting togged up in sexy things and going out is definitely the way forward! Hope you have fun Grin

Toria I am sooo sorry to hear you are having a bad time at the moment. It sounds dreadful and I hope you and your family are OK. Sending hugs xxx

Kaloki I hope your Drs appt goes well - I hating waiting for results! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you [crossed fingers emoticon]

HRHCavey how are the colicky horses and the referencing? Hope you're getting through it all!

Bella lovely to see you - how are you doing?

MissFlick how are things with you today?

Not much news from me. I took my last lot of clomid today (for this cycle at least) and am still feeling fine on it. I seem to remember last time it was only a couple of days after stopping the pills that it felt like my ovaries had turned into hedgehogs so I'm looking forward to that!

I am working at home today which is great as I'm still in my PJs but it's only the pets who can see me and they don't really care. Actually they are both asleep and snoring in my study with me which is making me giggle.

Big waves to everyone xxx

JosieSmith1 · 01/10/2010 12:09

Morning everyone, how are you all today?

Thanks Raspberry, I was gonna ask if you could feel them pull it as I?m really really squeamish about teeth and don?t know if I could be awake through it if I knew when they were actually pulling it out! DH said when he had a tooth out last year the anaesthetic didn?t work and he felt it all! Confused Envy (that?s my squeamish face Grin) He refused to tell me how they take it out as I would never go through with it, so naturally now I want to know! Don?t know if they will agree to knock me out completely though, if they did I?d be off like a shot to have it done as I can deal with it once it?s out, it?s just the pulling bit I can?t stand! Is it wrong to feel guilty about having the tooth out as it?s not the tooth?s fault it?s growing the wrong way BlushGrin

DH is making me feel sooo much better with SWI! The housework ploy is working so far (only first day Grin) but today he is off work so I have left him a nice long list of things to do and said if he finishes them all (I.e. hoover away, ironing hung up etc) I will repay him WinkBlush so fingers crossed there?s a beautiful house waiting for me when I get back. Plus this week has been the optimum time for SWI so I?ll have to try not to get too excited when 2ww is over! Might try and persuade myself that every week is the best week and that I?m not in 2ww Hmm

womanlytales · 01/10/2010 15:31

Hello everyone - it's Friday :) Yeah! Have had an emotional week - and glad to see it's back. Garden Totally hear you on the landing strip comment - felt / feel the same way.
Best of luck to those poasing this weekend. Here's to another roll of BFPs :)
