The 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

***

Although all most of these rules are well and truely broken!! But we try to chill - honest

It's funny, I am quite at peace that TTC could take months, even years. I'm cool with that. It the frickin two week wait I'm finding unbearable!

baby2b · 07/09/2010 21:40

Hello, just having a read to see what I have missed.

Sorry the machine was broken Brassica, that is rubbish! Love the fact that the cape was never out of action though Grin

Fingers crossed for you Bonkers

Well done to those that answered that post. If it is true I feel a bit sorry for her. Sometimes things come across harsher when you type them, but everyone has problems. I had second day back at work today and found out someone is 12 weeks preggers...yes everyone else is falling pregnant, but what can you do. She is lovely anyway and has been trying for ages and ages!

Milano I'm thinking 14dpo, but I am not sure 100% sure Confused

I am currently 5dpo and the jsing has wound down a little. Had a very busy js month and bits needed a rest Blush

Is anyone around the same stage in their cycle?

baby2b · 07/09/2010 21:44

I agree harder, I really struggle with the 2ww...there isn't anything to pass the time. I feel productive when I am using opk stick. All I have to do now is symptom spot and really it is too early! Though when I poked my boobs earlier it hurt, first symptom?! Grin

NervousNelly · 07/09/2010 22:51

Evening ladies. Far far too much going on here for me to keep track off, so hello to anyone new I've not yet welcomed!.Bonkers that is very exciting, I hope Thursday is a lucky day for you!

I feel very impatient this month. At about day 10, so time for some serious JSing (hurrah); but it feels like it's been ages already! I think this is because last month was when we decided it was time to TTC. That happened mid-cycle (we missed OV by 1 day) so this is the first full month of trying. The down-time from CD1 to Ovulation is much worse than last months (vaguely pointless) 2WW. Probably cos the first half involves PMT, spots, and no shagging at all Hmm

brassica what a shame your fanjo didn't get the opportunity to go radioactive. Definitely lucky you decided to go for it last night Grin.

Good luck to everyone else, lots of you sound like you are close to testing, yeah! :)

Truffkin · 07/09/2010 23:28

Evening JSers, some interesting stuff going on then! Bonk hoping Thursday will be your day!

Brassica massively annoying about flange-investigator being out of action. Maybe the shag cape has worked it's magic already.

So I've invested in a charting app to track my cycles. It tells me that CDs 15-19 are the days to really get my cape on. Unfortunately we're at the in laws for 2 of those days so may have to invest in some form of gag / cotton wool to stuff in mouth or similar so we can go enjoy some stealth shags!

Hope everyone in Londres managed ok with transport today. I did a lot of walking so am looking forward to stiffness of thighs in the morning! Night night all, looking forward to a proper catch up tomorrow.

SnowpeaWithEnthusiasm · 08/09/2010 06:53

Wow, every time I try to catch up on this thread there're more and more posts! I've finally made it to the end having taken a personal day to read mumsnet relax after a long weekend workshop.

But now I need advice ladies, all comments welcome Grin.

I think that I have ovulated recently, but as this is first month off the pill and I've never really looked for pant snot signs of ov before I'm not entirely sure. TMI may follow.

On Sunday I had what I think could be described as stretchy and mostly clear but a little cloudy pant snot. However, DP was away from Thursday and I may have... um... self-serviced on Sunday morning, so I'm not sure if it was because of ov'ing, or because I'm an insatiable dirty stop-out sexually healthy young woman Hmm. DP was back Sunday evening so we JSed Sun/Mon/Tues. Tues I experience a very creamy discharge which has now disappeared, and both Mon and Tues I had on and off pain on each side of my abdomen, which was aggravated during the JSing. (See, I told you there'd by too much information!!!)

So, my first question is does this sound like ovulation?

And my second question is when should I test? I haven't had a regular period since DS was born, with one being as long as 42 days a couple of years ago. As this is my first month off the pill, should I assume 28 days, and say test at 29 days and see what happens, or should I wait 42 days, or somewhere in between?

I need a date ladies, or I will test obsessively and expensively long before AF is due (whenever that may be), which I know because I'm already obsessed with the idea, and I may have only just started the 2ww.

Ah, thanks for listening to the beginning of my insanity. Wink

SnowpeaWithEnthusiasm · 08/09/2010 06:54

Grr, don't know why strikethroughs didn't work. Grr.

Bonkerz · 08/09/2010 07:55

well i feel SOsick today, its probably all in my head and im really trying not to get too excited cos its very early days. tested again last night......i know i know!!!!.....but it was positive again although didnt tell DH i had tested AGAIN! am gonna go get some more tests today i think just to be sure. seems very strange cos i know that noone will be happy for me. My MIL will go mad (will be her 10th grandchild and she really doesnt want 10!) my sister will think im copying her (she is due nov) although we have been 'trying' for 4 years. My boss will not be impressed because we have 3 pregnant staff all due between NOV and FEB and ive just been promoted! and ive just started my 2nd year of a degree course! LOL

JosieSmith1 · 08/09/2010 08:41

Oooo Cowboy what tattoo are you getting? I?m in the same boat with my DH, he?s coming around to the idea but he?s really not keen (he wasn?t with the last two either though Grin)

Harder don?t beat yourself up! I turn into a complete freak when it?s my turn to test! I lose track of how much money I waste spend on testing early! Maybe if you do one little one it?ll satisfy your need so you won?t need to do it for a while, and you know it?ll be negative as it?s too early so you won?t be too disappointed, and there?s always time for a positive one nearer the time. Oh dear, I?m a bad influence!

Baby2b I?m 6DPO so slap bang in there with you! I will not symptom spot, I will not symptom spot?.. Grin

Truffkin LMAO at your stealth shagging!

I?m no expert Snowpea but I think the pains sound like ov pains to me, I usually get those, or stronger pains on one side and definitely aggravated during JSing. You have to put the little dashes beside each word I?m afraid, it won?t do whole sentences.

Bonkerz how awful! At least you and DP/DH will be over the moon, stuff the rest of them. And if they can?t pretend to be happy for you then they?re not worth worrying about. I had an mc then found out about a week later that SiL was preggas and it was so difficult but I put on a brave face and pretended to be over the moon because it would have been awful for me to taint that memory for them with my miserableness (like my new word?)

Well, nothing to report here. I am currently in the 2ww, can test on Friday 17th and I will not go mad this time (holds hand on heart). I will not crazy symptom spot or test early (hmmm?) or in any other way go nuts about possible pg Grin

vallinnapod · 08/09/2010 09:03

Hola viroids!!

Glad things all seem normal on here!

Brassica tired to pop on yesterday to wish you luck but WiFi is ad-hoc up in the mountains [smug holiday grin]. What an arse about the dildocam...probably from my over use ;o)

Took my last 2 Norethisterone pills today so fingers crossed should have a 'period' in the next couple of days. I have the sorest boobs and am horribly bloated (could be due to the epic amount of food I have eaten though!!). Not entirely conclusive to swanning around in a bikini. Still, and I never thought I would say this, but I am glad I am on hols with my Ma and not the DH as boob touching and poking of any kind feels really off the agenda Blush

Must dash, brekkie and a sun lounger awaits....

Buenas dias xxx

BrassicaBabe · 08/09/2010 09:11

Bloody hell! Anne Widdecome on Strictly Come Dancing! It's the only reality programme I love watch. The rest of them? Wwwhhhhoooo???????????!!!!!!!!

Grin harder "I am pathologically impatient and probably need medication."

And to prove that we're JS all month rather than just TTC-JSing! We did it again last night! [smug-emoticon]

b2b and harder I've struggle with the 2ww and the 2w's before the 2ww this month. I'm only slighly calm now ov and serious JSing is approaching!

snowpea I think CM with arousal can be confused with ttc pant snot. Creamy isn't fertile CM, but watery or pant snot is. Hmm displaying way too much knowledge here about CM! Blush

Envy vallinna hope you are having a great time. Let's hope ERTD gets you soon!

CD11 for me. Going to give DH the night off then jump him tomorrow. Brazillian booked for today. I've bought some dvds too! When we were going on hols I bought one of those sex position books. A book was a bit cumbersome and I've never seen DH read a book while I've known him...So I thought a DVD might do the trick. We've a good range of postions under our belt, but I thought this might add a level of interest. I also thought watching the DVD might help if interest was....umm...flaging.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/09/2010 09:18

Phew I made it to the end.

I'm so so so pleased to see there some other joining me in the testing club. Although to be honest with AF 5 days MIA and my symptoms getting stronger and stronger (nearly threw up last night, ugh) I already know the answer, am just waiting for the pee stick to make it official. Also I won't be happy til 19DPO as that'll take me beyond last months CP.

Milano it really depends on your luteal phase length. Mine is sort and AF typically turns up 9DPO, but for others it can be longer than 18. I think 14dpo is the average.

Snowpea I agree with Josie sounds like ov pains to me. I know I get pant snot about 4 days before the pains, but have no idea about consistency etc. It's there so things are working as far as I'm concerned. Sounds like you're in with a chance.

Who would joke about theit DH not being able to do the deed? That's one hell of a sick joke if that post isn't for real!

BrassicaBabe · 08/09/2010 09:21

When are you going to poa-bloody-s nomore?! Come on girl!! Grin

OP posts:
NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/09/2010 09:31

Brassica I've pee'd on 2 sticks so far. Both negative, so now I have to wait until Saturday which is 17dpo, the day last cycle I FINALLY got that BFP. It's the down side to having a short luteal phase. Short 2WW, but long BFPW(ait).
I try to keep in mind the post I saw with a list of stat about dpos and +ive testing resluts. Actually if I could be arsed unearthing it I'd post it to help calm a few impatient nerves (or at leat get you lot off my back Grin).

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 08/09/2010 09:33

results, not resluts. That sounds like viroids being a bit way ward!

takethatlady · 08/09/2010 09:35

Envy of vallinna and her sun-lounger. All I've got is a dodgy windscreen wiper and a big fat cloud overhead here at work. Envy of nomore too - not only for what seems to be a lovely looming BFP but for her amazing patience at not testing! She is a credit to us all!

vallinna I hope your holibobs aren't ruined by your sore holiboobs, and that you get AF by the weekend!

Liking the DVD idea brassica

snowpea I'd test two weeks from the pant snot incident, so Sunday 19th September?

I'm a bit Confused. Last cycle my temps were consistent and jumped up after four days of increasingly copious vag-sneezing. This month on the ag-cast they were very very low. Then I forgot to do them for a while (whoops!). Now I've had the pant snot (but not loads and loads) and though the temps seem to have risen they've only gone up to what they were last cycle before ovulation Hmm. Plus I'm still getting pant snot at the same time, which is all wrong, I tell you! All wrong!

Oh well, better keep shagging just in case Wink. I'll prob count the 2ww from today.

takethatlady · 08/09/2010 09:36

Ha ha ha just cross-posted with no more. I take back my awe at her self-restraint!

takethatlady · 08/09/2010 09:44

This is totally off-topic but does anybody on here know how to use Endnote? I'm going to shoot myself if it cocks up my bibliography one more time. AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGH!

BrassicaBabe · 08/09/2010 09:55

pmsl at re-sluts nomore Are we re-sluts if we don't managed BFP the first month and have to go for repeat cycles? Wink Ok, we'll leave you alone to poas when you are good and ready. Just make sure you come and tell us! We're all living vicariously at the moment.

OP posts:
HarderToKidnap · 08/09/2010 11:13

OK, PIMTH (Peed In My Toothbrush Holder). BFN. But...there was something....almost like I could see where the pregnancy line should be? Like a little something?

So my fervent imagination has gone into absolute Overdrive and my current plan of action is to test every day with a FR until I either get a BFP or a period. I know this is madness and also a bit weird but I am off work this week so haven't even got that to sustain me and pass the time! I've promised myself that I will only indulge the craziness this month because it is my first month of TTC and every other month I will be sensible.

ComeTalkToMe · 08/09/2010 11:57

I'm still just on CD 6 so ages to go before even OV but it's nice to see other people with the same obsessive proactive attitude! Wink

Nomore I have my fingers crossed for you!

Harder my imagination is a bit like that too!

takethatlady · 08/09/2010 11:59

Re-sluts, coyboys and viriods. We sound like the characters in a futuristic science fiction movie. Especially as we're in the business of producing clones...

harder that sounds exciting! Yay for living vicariously. I'm on a 2ww and I don't even know if it is a 2ww. All I've got is other people's potential BFPs to keep me going!

milanomum · 08/09/2010 12:55

Grin at the clones! I might even settle for a CP30 (sorry, just seen Starwars again recently)...

snowpea that sounds exactly what I get at ov - waaayyy to much info but it was really sore js-ing for me! The things we suffer, eh?

nomore you sound very 'zen-like' and not at all crazed yet. good luck! If i have to count 14 days after ov then AF is due this weekend...gulp! i don't have any symptoms, that said though, i didn't have any with my dd either Confused

Word of warning truffkin i have a fairly regular cycle but i definitely ov'd on day 10/11 this month so don't wait till day 14!

hardertokidnap how exciting!

NervousNelly · 08/09/2010 14:00

Ok TMI alert. I have a very very painful external haemorrhoid which appeared on Saturday. Started to go away but today feels like someone is sawing me in half up the ways. It's fucking sore :( I have just applied boots haemorrhoid relief cream, which has lidocaine. Seen as it's often a pregnancy issue, any advice from the mums? Bearing in mind I'm at work wearing too tight troos and sitting on my arse all day. Also tomorrow I am due to get my pre holiday waxing. The thing isn't huge but I won't be able to apply cream to my nether regions tomorrow morning. Aaaaahhhhhhh. Now all I need is for the cream to give me thrush, and any hope of ideally-timed holiday snagging will be up the swany. Or not.

Bonkerz · 08/09/2010 14:44

ok looks like i am moving on from this thread after my short visit. Didnt last till Thursday for testing. After feeling really sick all morning (and hiding the fact cos i was at work) and then having really painful bobs when in car (damn seatbelt) i went to town and bought some cheap tests. have now done 2 more and definately positive and darker than the first one i did for sure.....time to admit this is really happening. am officially a day late anyway so reckon i need to move to the due in may thread! bye guys and i wish you all luck and babydust!
