Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Oh and no AF around here - only FERTD.... Capishe??

Florin · 31/08/2010 15:12

josie I feel your pain about dh not being up for swi. I am in prime swi time and dh get a trapped nerve (did it playing cricket) and can't do his own trousers up let alone swi so am guessing this month will probably be a no hoper for me.Glad everthing went well with the scan halo
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks about names. Dh and I already have our names picked out, no one knows them but my mum said how she didn't like my girls name (obviously not knowing that we love it as she doesn't even know about ttc) oh well it doesn't put me off!

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 15:24

I like Chloe and Amy for a girl, and Aaron for a boy. I'm like simple names!

Sorry to hear about your DH having a trapped nerve Florin, does sort of rule out SWI. Will he recover in time for next month?

Thanks Garden! Yes I think DH did think his whatsit was more complicated but it really does just take a few dirty words! It might as well have a big 'on' button!

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 15:33

Forgot to mention Garden, does lack of pains not mean that you've already ovulated? Maybe the pains hav stopped becasue you're past that bit and ready for possible implantation? I think I've got my biology right there?!

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 15:48

PMSL @ Josie Men are such simple beings! Grin

Garden I think Josie's right, good luck for tomorrow, fingers are well and truly crossed for you.

Florin Where has he trapped a nerve? I've had them in my spine and elbow so feel his pain :( Bugger about SWI though! We've told a few people what names we like, but so many of our friends are at the geting engaged and married stage that it comes up a lot in normal conversation atm, so I know all their current favourite names as well, they include, but are not limited to Corinthian, Constantine, Islay and far too many famous footballers to mention. Our names are all fairly traditional, but MIL did put her foot in it when she said she hates one of our boys names. Said boys name is not only FIL's name but my late Grandfather's name...

Bellaby · 31/08/2010 15:51

Quick hello from me as the phone is not being very reliable.

Am loving the new room Grin!

Will try and pop back later for a catch up but I have been following. I reckon we'll fill this Fred in record time

gardenpixie · 31/08/2010 15:51

Hi Josie thanks, yes I think that might be the case. Not sure really but I guess I will find out one way or another at my scan tomorrow. I think a lot of it is also in my head! Grrrr. Fingers crossed it is either because I've already ov'd or just that my insides are settling down!

And thanks Flick for wishing me luck. Appt is at 9.15 so will post when I get back home afterwards

gardenpixie · 31/08/2010 15:51

Thanks as well Toria think we x posted!

crazybutterflylady · 31/08/2010 16:01

Good luck garden I'll say a little follicle based prayer for you, hehe Grin

Good work josie - I agree, men like to pretend they don't just think about one thing bless them.

Sleep tight flick wish I was off to bed now, I am shattered today.

Hope you're getting on with the jeremy kyle tidying day toria

bellaby you are so right, we are storming through this Fred. That means Lanky is up the duff :) Who is going to bagsie the next one??? Hmm

I have just been very restrained and managed not to buy myself anything whilst in Space NK for a friend's birthday. Luckily the assistants were fawning over some zelebs and realised how bad it looked so gave me some freebies instead :) yay!

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 16:04

Well I hope you get the result you want tomorrow Garden

Toria I would deliberately use the name your MiL doesn't like. It's got nothing to do with her what you call your kids! Grin

My MiL told me at the weekend that I'd need to buy a bigger car if we got pg! Fair enough I have a Ford Ka and it's not massive, but a) I can't afford another car, b) it's got 4 seats doesn't it! How many seats do you need for one kid Grin. I can't stand when people stick their noses in your business.

roamfree · 31/08/2010 16:08

Afternoon all. Just catching up on today's posts after a crazy day at work. Will have to be a quickie (excuse the pun) because I want to go for a bike ride while the sun is still shining! Been feeling decidedly bloated and a tad nauseous today and still no sign of ERTD. Going to test first thing tomorrow morning.

Good luck to garden and flick for imminent medical appointments. Always reassuring to get the input of a professional. This whole TTC thing is a total minefield of confusing syptoms and inexplicableness.

josie - loving your seduction techniques! It is so weird having to schedule sex when you are used to doing it as and when you both feel like it. Last week I asked my DH to have a feel to see if he thought my boobs were bigger than normal - that seemed to do the trick if you need any other ideas!

Bye for now. Will post again tomorrow am after I've tested, so watch this space...

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 16:11

Have given up on tidying Crazy and, in fact, have left the lounge in a worse state than it started. Have wrapped a handful of presents, but only after turning everything upside down to look for tape. Have also just had a very interesting conversation with the courier who were meant to be delivering the Homebase stuff who had no idea what I was talking about, but a big van has just pulled up outside...

Back now, that was indeed the delivery, I now have most of a bathroom in my garage. Shame it's not for me lol. Oh well, at least I can go for a shower and to the shop now hehehe.

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 16:14

Josie, my MIL likes to have input on absolutely everything, including what colour our sheets are (seriously) and what we eat on a daily basis. She doesn't know we're TTC but has probably guessed as I'm not exactly subtle about walking round like a clucky hen. We will def be using the name, even if it's as a middle name, should we be lucky enough to have a son as we both really love it and would just argue if we had to pick another hehehe. And your MIL would love us, we have a five door Astra. Very family friendly! (and has nothing to do with the fact that when we go away we fill it with utter shit and need all the space we can find)

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 16:29

Fab idea Roamfree! Although I think it would have been more successful earlier in our relationship. Now things like that are just routine, don?t elicit any ?response? IYKWIM Blush. He?ll probably have a feel, then just say yes or no, and go back to watching tv! Grin. Good luck with testing tomorrow!

God Toria that?s a bit above and beyond of your MiL! When me and DH first moved in my together my MiL did tell me that I had the trousers hung up on the washing line the wrong way around! I deliberately put them that way around if she comes over, just to wind her up! And she thinks our steps are too steep (they?re exactly the same as everyone else?s!) so she does get on my nerves sometimes. And she treats me like a child ocassionally, but that?s probably because she?s had 4 and 3 of them are boys, so naturally she?s used to doing everything for them Grin. I have a penchant for choccy pudding and get her to make it when I go over sometimes, but DH once said I?d help her, so after telling her I know how to do them and have done them loads of times, she insisted on showing me how to use a handheld blender, even though I?ve got one at home that I use regularly, and even insisted on holding the bowl so I could use the blender, and told me to move the blender up and down to get all the bits off the sides of the bowl! She showed me how to measure everything out, as if I couldn?t possibly figure it out for myself, having actually done it plenty of times! I felt teeny tiny and very embarrassed! So now I?m an expert in making choccy pud, even though I knew how to do it before! Argh!

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 16:50

Oh yeah, she's a complete mental case. I do allsorts of things differently to her, she likes commenting on them all. Our old house was too small. I am overweight (no shit sherlock) but she only comments on that because she's worried about me, despite my blood pressure being lower than hers. I should drink less. We wont be in this house forever now, will we? (why not?) I have too many piercings and tattoos (I have five tattoos, all are hidden when I'm dressed normally, and my piercings are all in my ears and nose bar one that no one has seen but the piercist, my best friend, OH and my family planning nurse) I complain too much (this was said when I was being eaten alive by midgies so she could take a picture) I also hate people in my kitchen when I'm cooking. Despite being told this by me, OH and FIL she still comes to "help" when she's here. Then she asks me to help when I'm at her house, knowing I do things differently to her, just so she can point out that I'm doing things "wrong". She watches me as well. I don't mean when I'm doing interesting things, I mean all the time. When I'm pouring drinks, when I'm reading, when I'm ironing/folding laundry, when I'm loading the dishwasher, when I'm plating dinner up, probably when I'm fecking sleeping!

Wow. That was a bit of a rant... As you were lol.

LankyLegs · 31/08/2010 16:57

Ello you rowdy lot!

Good luck Garden with the scan! Lets hope their is a ripe follicle ready to pop an egg!

Josie I laughed out reading your post - glad to see you taking charge of the situation!! I think we have all had similar texts in the past!

Bella lovely to hear from you! Yes- this thread is another chatty one!

Crazy I am keeping fingers crossed this month - its cycle 11 and I started the Fred. I just need to keeeeep shaggin... must rustle up some energy to do that this week! I forgot its almost time to POAS on an OV stick too.

Roam good luck with the testing chica - lets hope its a lucky one.

Florin ouch to your DH - hope he feels better soon!

So we are on baby names already?! I have mine chosen too! Anouk, Alfie and Lola (although not sure about Lola) and also like Anoushka by DH think is sounds wanky (sorry)!

Josie/Roam and I might have to start employing some seduction techniques as well! I normally do the same - whip off the top and the boobs normally do the talking! Men are sooooooo simple... but now we are getting to cycle 11 it does start to take its toll a bit.

Toria jeeeze MiL - no comment! I'ms ure she is lovely?!

Right going to rustle up the energy to get the train and then the gym :(

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 17:00

God Toria how do you not turn around and smack her one! Blush Sorry, that's the geordie in me! Just wait until you've got kids, she'll be a nightmare! Luckily my ILs have 5 grandkids already so the novelty has worn off a bit but when the first one was born they were round their house literally every night, until about 11pm every time! I am a quiet person and I hate confrontation but if it was me, I'd be telling them where to go!

Anyway, I'm off home for some SWI Blush so I'll speak to you all tomorrow not doubt [wave emoticon]

crazybutterflylady · 31/08/2010 17:04

lanky that's why I said you are already up the duff. I don't think you even need to SWI, it's in the hands of the Fred!

They're lovely names! Love Anouk. From "Chocolat" right? My favourite names are Luella, Martha, Felix and Rufus. I love them all but am sure I will change my mind when I see a little sprog and go for something totally different, I know what I'm like! Mr C isn't so keen on Rufus but I have told him he will give in after seeing me in pain. Hehe.

Well done for gymming! xx

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 17:08

It's getting close Josie hehehe. She has now started to piss off OH so at least we're on the same team. We've already had the "What happens when we have kids" conversation early, so that if she even tries it I can say to him "Remember what we said when..." Luckily they live far away (well, about 150 miles away), across an expanse of water so ghey can't just pop in...

Love Lola and Rufus :) Our current names are Eleanor and Thomas with Calder, Anne, Catherine/Katharine, Andrew/Drew and Sarah in the background.

alien06 · 31/08/2010 18:33

hey everyone fab to see that we are all loving the in laws lol

On the names discussion I have William for a boy (after DH and FIL - deceased :(

As for a girl, no flippin' idea but to be honest I would just be grateful to get preggers, really losing the will TTC now, back to school tomoz and really can't be bothered to socialise with work peeps when they are all hyper and ready for the new year, I have got used to spending time by myself and with my DH and dog so can't be bothered with small talk. I know that sounds really selfish and rude but I just cant be bothered atm.

I am hoping that the school work will keep me mega busy so that I cannot think about TTC, ERTD is due in week or so , but its only 2nd one since had Mirena out so may not even be at that time..

Roam good luck with testing!
Garden good luck with the scan

x

CaveMum · 31/08/2010 18:40

Evening ladies, hope we are all well.

All this talk of baby names has reminded me about one of my favourite websites: Baby's Named A Bad Bad Thing

Some of the suggestions are jawdroppingly bad (apologies if anyone likes them Wink) and the site never fails to reduce me to tears of laughter!

Bellaby · 31/08/2010 19:37

HRCavey - some great ideas on there Hmm

Actually DH and I talked about names for the first time last week. Well rather I talked and he commented. He said all the names I liked were very biblical.

SWI not quite gone according to plan. First there was my DHs 'injury'. Lanky I know you asked about this. Ut really wasn't much to report. Not quite sure what happened but I am guessing a combo of dryness & perhaps a trapped hair. Mr B has happily made a full recovery I'm happy to report Grin. However yesterday I woke up with pain in my neck which hurt every time I moved so I sent the entire day pretty immobile. Feeling a bit better today so hopefully will be able to have a bit of action in case of another late ov cycle.

Lamky I hope you made it to the gym today. I have to wait a couple of days now unti, my neck is better.

Roam. Fingers crossed for your testing tomorrow.

Flick I'm really glad you are going to see the doctor about lack of ERTD. I wish I'd gone to see someone sooner. For some reason now I keep putting it off even though I k ow it's what I should be doing. Think I'll make an appointment for the end of the month.

Alien hope your first day back at school tomorrow is ok.

Josie & Toria - fully sympathize with your MIL situations. Mine has a heart of gold but still annoys me which is terrible I know. Unfortunately if we have a baby it will be her only grandchild so I fear the worst

crazy - I hate to say this but I always wanted a dog called Rufus. Think it's a great name.

I've nearly finished Dexter 3 - cNt believe even the tv series I watch seem to involve pregnant women now!!!

Garden I really hope your test goes well tomorrow. I've done a little follicle dance for you

Bellaby · 31/08/2010 19:39

Florin. Your poor DH. Hope he makes a speedy recovery. My DH was lovely yesterday and wouldn't let me lift a finger to help!

TomboyWife · 31/08/2010 20:08

Evening ladies!

Josie we had similar problems with SWI, and what seemed to work for us was not mentioning that it was SWI. DH knows that there are important times of month to shag and he's pretty aware of when those times are, but he's much more into it if I just jump him without mentioning that I might have an ulterior motive.

garden good luck with your scan! Sending follicle-popping thoughts your way!

Sorry to hear about all the overbearing MiLs. Mine is only very tangentially part of our lives (it's a long and not very pleasant story), but my mum can be interfering enough for two, so... Hmm

I'm glad to know we're not the only crazy people who have names picked before we've even conceived. Our boy name is very middle-of-the-road if a bit of a throwback (there are lots of men in their 40s with it, but nobody under 20). Our girl name is a bit more out there. And no, I'm not saying what they are because I don't want to jinx anything!

florin sorry about your DH. Hope he's feeling better very soon.

My DH is due back at hospital at half-dark AM tomorrow to have his finger reconstructed. Fortunately my work was very understanding about my wanting to go with him. It's only a local anaesthetic and I don't think there will be anything for me to do except warm a seat in the waiting room, but I'll be warming that seat nonetheless.

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 20:22

Cave I love that site! That'll keep me going for hours :D

Bellaby There are lots of Biblical names in my family, which always amuses me as bar my cousin and her husband we're all very much lapsed or non conventional in our religious beliefs hehehe. We are also the first to have children (well, so goes the plan, BIL is getting married next year) and she doesn't get on with her Step-Grandkids so fear we may have a battle on our hands, but we'll cross that bridge should we ever be lucky enough to reach it!

Roam Fingers crossed for the morning lovely.

Florin Hope tomorrow morning goes well, how's he feeling?

Truffkin · 31/08/2010 20:43

Evening viroids, hope you all had a lovely long weekend. I've missed loads on the new thread, loving what you've done with the place it feels very extravagant!

So STILL no ERTD for me, although I've developed stomach ache this evening so am depserately hoping this might be it. It's been nearly 6 weeks (and before you ask, I have POASd so know it's not for good reasons!) and I'm really keen to be able to start counting again.

Good luck for your scan Garden hope it goes well

Roam good luck to you too, am keeping my fingers crossed

Hope everything is ok for you hubby tomorrow as well Tomboy you sound remarkably calm about it all, I get squeamish about that kind of thing!

Anyway, I'm just popping on to see what I've missed really but can't stay long as DH is plating up my steak and chips for dinner (I'm spoiled sometimes!) Hope to chat properly tomorrow (with hopefully dreadful period pains to report - how odd this TTC malarky is!)
