Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Oh and no AF around here - only FERTD.... Capishe??

Oh just popped on as I am shirking mountain of work and poor Josie Sad I hope you are feeling better and able to get some proper rest to build up your strength for SWI-ing.

Raspberry thanks for asking re work - I do feel like I'm a bit of a loon at the moment. It's not always this hectic and I don't usually have to travel ... and it's my own fault for taking the project on but it's such an interesting one. And I'm self-employed so it's good to keep the money coming in!

Kaloki sorry about your BFN. Are your cycles usually long? I could ask all the usual questions about did you wait 4hrs before peeing etc but I'm sure you did.

Womanly sorry if I've missed posts about this last week but how are you doing on clomid? I hope you are not having any side effects and that it's worked its magic for you this month Smile

Highheels sorry you are feeling grotty. I hope you are taking it easy and feel better soon.

HRH salsa ahoy! That sounds like great fun. I am thinking of looking for some kind of dance class near me so Mr G and I can have some fun lauging at each others' complete lack of co-ordination. Actually he's quite good but I can manage to trip up on a totally flat floor so am in awe of people who can be all graceful and elegant! I also reckon there's nothing like tempting sod's law: if you go for it, you are bound to fall pg immediately.

I had an interesting email from my consultant last week - she reckoned that the hpt I did was a positive and that sometimes the bit of the test that registers pg hormones can get a bit out of kilter hence only half a line showing. She also told me that the sensitivity stated on the pack is the minimum sensitivity but that some tests can be much more sensitive than others from the same brand (measuring as little as 7.5mgs or whatever the right metric is). She reckoned that's particularly true for CB so if you test before your period is due, you can have a mix of positives and negatives in the same pack. Now that's just not helpful I reckon ...

Right, back to work for me.

Waves to everyone I haven't managed to catch up with properly. Oh, and I'm leading an advanced party to the three follicles tonight so pints of wine are on me xx

Kaloki · 26/09/2010 15:10

gardenpixie I'm not sure about the 4 hours thing? My cycles for the last 10 months have been anywhere from 19 to 42 days, so no clue at all. Currently on day 43, so longest so far.

gardenpixie · 26/09/2010 16:38

Kaloki how frustrating for you. The four hour point is that it takes at least four hours for pg hormones to build up enough to register, even if you are on or just past the day ERTD is due. I had a 60 day cycle once and was almost chewing the furniture - it IS horrid.

I've just been to pick up my 100mgs of clomid prescription. I was really touched because as I was leaving, the pharmacist smiled and said "good luck." Really cheered me up Smile

Toriajayne · 26/09/2010 17:21

Kaloki I have quite dark but nondescript brown hair so I put Lush's Caca Rouge on it to pick it up, was aiming for chesnutty when I started (about last Christmas) but it goes really quite red which is cool Grin I've been dying it some shade of pillar box red for most of my life so this is nice change, and better for me!

Sorry about your BFN and rubbish long cycle. FIngers crossed ERD pitches up soon and you can crack on.

evil congrats on ovulation! Grin

Raspberry I'm not entirely sure why you're supposed to wrap it in cling film, other than it has to be on your head for four hours so there's a massive risk of you rubbing it on walls/sofa etc if it's not covered, and it stains everything, but they say it goes more red if it is wrapped so there must be some effect, maybe the heat? It's kind of both, it does colour your hair but it can also be used as conditioning treatment, one of the girls in the Edinburgh store uses it in the colour close to her natural colour, every three weeks, just as a deep conditioner.

highheels Congratulations on your ovulation, fingers crossed OHs sperm got bored and took the scenic route up there!

garden What a lovely pharmacist :) Fingers crossed the higher dose of clomid does the trick.

I am doing nothing today, but watch crap TV and sort laundry, decided I was going to organise my wardrobe on Thursday when I couldn't find a top so tipped all my clothes out on the floor in order to look and somehow that translated to washing most of my winter wardrobe so trying to take advantage of the fact the horrendous rain has stopped for a few hours and get it all done. Sat at home on the phone last night talking to my best friend (only a day late with her phonecall) for the best part of three hours and managed to drink two bottles on wine whilst talking to her Blush so not really up to anything strenuous. Might do the ironing while I cry like a baby over watch Juno later on.

Hope you're all having good Sundays!

gardenpixie · 26/09/2010 19:42

Womanly I just read the post about your progesterone results (stupid Garden for not reading it sooner). Really sorry that it looks like Clomid didn't quite do it for either of us this month. We will get there with our magic pills, we will, we will Smile I hope you are enjoying your hols xx

HRHCavey · 27/09/2010 07:18

Good morning lovely ladies. We've all obviously had roaring social lives this weekends the thread has barely moved!

In all seriousness we are rapidly running out of thread so someone needs to step up and prepare a new one - not forgetting to mention our beloved "Three Frolickers"!

A very quiet weekend for me and Mr Cavey, who has a minor dose of Man Flu cold Wink

Still no action on the ERTD front for me BUT (whispers) I've had a big drop in temp this morning, down 0.6 from yesterday. Could it be too much to hope that it is a sign of OV?! I'm not getting my hopes up but I am keeping my positive head on, a la Emma Cannon.

For those of you also following EC, do you follow a particular abdominal massage pattern or just give everything a jolly good rub?! I can't see any particular techniques in the book, but I may not be looking properly!

Have a good, if damp, Monday.

kkas · 27/09/2010 08:44

morning all - think it's time for me to check out of the The Three Follicles for a while now. things aren't so good in the kkas household and, frankly, i'll be lucky to still be married by christmas, let alone pg. can someone please take me off the list next time it's updated? just wanted to say thanks for all the laughs and support over the past year. hopefully this is just a bad patch and i'll be back sometime soon. but wishing you all the best of luck and lots of baby dust. xx

gardenpixie · 27/09/2010 08:59

kkas sorry to hear you are having a rough time. I know there's not much I can say or do to help but I'll be thinking of you and I really hope things get better for you soon xx

Hello everyone, just a short post from me before I get back to surfing the internet for shoes work.

HRHCavey sounds pretty promising ... fingers crossed you have an egg or two ready to come out to play. Best jump on MrCavey just in case ... Wink

womanlytales · 27/09/2010 10:07

Hi Ladies,
Sorry for not tuning in Have been reading up on all your news though. I just don't have anything to say to anyone anymore. Yes, we all need to be positive and yes, we'll all eventually get there... but I've maxed my quota of saying this --- And I do feel terrible about feeling this way. I do wish you all the very very best - - but I can't seem to say the stuff anymore because I am not sure I believe in it anymore. NOT that I feel we are all doomed - - but I am at the que sera sera phase that is cold and fact-based state... Does this even make sense???

garden We're certainly clomid twins in my mind though I haven't started my next round yet.. Strangely enough I began to spot yesterday (TMI - Less than 10 spots -- more brown than red) and hoped FERTD had arrived..but this morning - nothing. I have all the FERTD symptoms - craze to eat, back pain etc... My doc wants me to go through an investigative scan on Day 2 before he ups my clomid to 100. So identifying a day 1 is becoming a puzzle... In any case I went in and booked in a scan for tomorrow - - fingers crossed that FERTD will arrive in full force by then... Pending investigative scan, I think I'll be soon following you on Clomid 100.

Kaloki · 27/09/2010 10:59

kkas Really sorry to hear that, we'll always be here if you need us.

womanlytales It does, I'm fast approaching it myself. I guess that happens over time.

gardenpixie · 27/09/2010 11:06

Hi womanly I know what you mean - after the millionth time of repeating the "stay positive" mantra to myself, it does wear a bit thin. I really do believe a bit of positivity helps though so I'm trying my hardest to focus on all the stories of women with stubborn ovaries falling pg - the odds are still on our side Smile

When you had your last scan, did they give you an hcg shot? I can't remember whether you got one or not but I'm certainly going to push for one this time round if there's even a hint of a promising follicle!

I hope your scan goes well tomorrow xx

womanlytales · 27/09/2010 11:10

garden Tell me more about this hcg shot -- They didn't when they scanned me on cd8... What's it for?

gardenpixie · 27/09/2010 11:19

womanly one potential issue with PCOS is that the body becomes resistant to LH because it's present at such high levels for most of the cycle. This can be a barrier to ovulating because it's the LH that weakens the lining of the follicle allowing the egg to come out (hence the surge before ov-ing). So you might be producing the right sized follicles but they could be struggling to break out. The hcg shot is given because it mimics LH's effect so, if you know you have some ripe follicles, it's worth having an hcg shot to make sure the blighters come out to play.

I am not sure how it works on the NHS but I think if you didn't ov this time round but showed promising follicles, they might try you on 50mgs again with a shot around CD12 / CD13. However, I think you can push for it though if they don't offer it to you.

My consultant said that she gives people the shot as soon as she sees a good follicle as it costs a little more but she doesn't want to waste a potential egg or keep people on clomid longer than they need to be.

So if you get a promising one this time around - which I'm sure you will - then it's worth being strident with them! Grin

Ariesgirl · 27/09/2010 11:20

I was going to copy and paste the list and re-post it with me at the bottom :( but I can't because of this stooooopid AppleMac. FERTD got me two days ago so I'm now on Day 3. I really thought this was my month. Arsebuckets.

kkas sorry to hear that things are not well in your world. I hope a break from ttc helps you both to get things on the right track.

I'm heading over to the new thread.

Bye old Fred!

WhiteRoses · 25/10/2010 17:28

Kkas - Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear that all's not right with you, and that if there's anything I can do, if you want to chat or anything, I'm here. I know we haven't been regular posters on the same thread for a while now, but I often pop in here for a little lurk to see how you (and a few others who'll know how they are) are getting on. Hope you manage to get things sorted out one way or another. x
