Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Oh and no AF around here - only FERTD.... Capishe??

Evening all!
It's been very busy in here this weekend, glad to see you are all well (except toria and yum, the FBFBERTD victims...sorry to hear about it getting you - my thinking now is ERTD - excuse for baaaad food and gooood wine and that sort of makes it better for me. Remind me of that in 2 weeks when I am sobbing, won't you!)

I've had a lovely weekend, fairly busy but interspersed with some dedicated SWI so quite proud of us. Still no idea whether I have OV'd... time will tell I guess.

Tomboy that's shocking about the crap hospital. I hope you have struck them off your maternity list! You can tell DH he was very useful as a guinea pig hehe.

Glad to hear you're keeping the outdoors theme alive garden Grin just please don't call any subsequent child elm or maple or oak Wink Good luck for the scan... fingers crossed for you.

Hi cavey, hope you had a lovely weekend and managed a bit of SWI. I hope you have a lovely week off, am very jealous! despite having last week off myself...it went too quickly and the thought of work tomorrow makes me feel like this Sad

flick! thanks for updating the list so diligently! Hope you've had a lovely weekend and have found some out of reach hiding places for your cheapy sticks...they are just too tempting. It's a shame that CBFM doesn't have a "you can stop testing now my dear, you're pg" function

Good luck with the zinc florin, it sounds like you have a very supportive OH... we are very lucky ladies!

Hi to everyone else hope you have all had lovely weekends. Am off to soak in a nice bath now and pretend it's not Sunday. Have a good one.

xx

TomboyWife · 30/08/2010 19:27

butterfly lol about no Maple or Oak as names. If garden has a girl they could call her Daisy or Violet or similar. The "How'd you pick my name?" conversation a few years later might be slightly odd though...

Toriajayne · 30/08/2010 19:41

PMSL at Oak, Maple or Elm... Ironically one of my favourite girls names is a tree, but a fictional one so don't think we'd have to worry about that hehehe.

crazybutterflylady · 30/08/2010 20:16

Is it Faraway Toria? Grin

Toriajayne · 30/08/2010 20:19

You figured me out Crazy! I think it has a ring to it, come in for your dinner Faraway! Grin I did meet my first ever Chardonnay the other day, she was about six and absolutely lovely!

Morning everyone,

Hope there are no back to work blues today.

Just a quicky to do the list and let you know that I tested again and had another BFN. However, I feel better about it today because I have a plan! I will retest on Friday but am now convinced that my cycle is playing tricks again so am expecting a BFN. In anticipation of this I have booked an appointment with a gynecologist for Monday which I am oddly excited about [weirdo emoticon] I plan to take her my list of previous cycles and my CBFM , pour my confused little heart out to her and ask for some tests to see if I actually did ovulate this month and if so, where is my bloody period?! I guess one good thing about not having the NHS here is that I can just take myself off to a specialist without having to go through the doctor but the down side is I have to pay but hey ho, at least it makes me feel like I am doing something constructive and will hopefully put my mind at rest/ get the bottom of any underlying problems as google has convinced me that everything under the sun is wrong with me

Just been to check the post since writing the above and my ebay cheapies have arrived so there is no way I will be waiting until Friday to retest! Oh well, nice plan while it lasted!

CaveMum · 31/08/2010 07:07

Morning everyone, can't tell you how glad I am that today is Tuesday! Counting down till Friday and then no more work for a week! I haven't had a proper amount of time off work all year so far, just a few days here and there. We got to mid-August and I realised I still had 23 days of holiday left so I've got a week booked off in September, October and November and I've still got hold left over! Thankfully my boss is very flexible about Christmas so we never use holiday up over that period. Not sure what where I'm going to use the rest of my hols though!

Flick sorry about another BFN, but as you say at least you are being proactive.

Tomboy sorry to hear about your DH's accident. Ouch! Hope he feels better soon.

Garden you go girl Wink nudge nudge! Sadly we didn't get in as much SWIing as I'd have liked. We stayed on an airbed in our friend's caravan awning on Fri night so no chance there, and Sat evening was a rush to get back to MiL's for a meal at which DH drank too much to be of use!
I'm not too bothered though as if indeed those were OV pains on Thurs/Fri it means ERTD can't be too far away!

Happy Tuesday everyone.

crazybutterflylady · 31/08/2010 07:28

Good luck Flick, I am sure the consultant will be sympathetic given all the info you have. You've done everything right but still no BFP, just bloody frustrating!!! I am trying not to think about it this month. We have done everything right too as far as you can, but have no idea if I OVd or what length my cycle will be after last month. Grrrr!!! Anyway there's still chance of a BFP for you this month flick - it ain't over yet.

Glad to hear you had a nice weekend cavey. Jealous of how much holiday you have. You must love your job if you haven't used it by now!

Uh! Work!

x

cookiemoo · 31/08/2010 07:37

I'm just gonna have a moan, it's our 3 yr wedding anniversary today and I was so hopeful for a bfp later this week but I've started spotting so think fbfbfbertd may well make an appearance!! Soooo p*ed off with ttc at the minute. Lp is screwed up and dh has another sa booked for next week. Not feeling positive about anything happening for us any time soon. Aaarrrrggggghhhhh!!!!! Angry Sad

Right, sorry for that very unladylike outburst!
Sorry about your bfn flick, it's not over yet tho.
We've got a few ladies approaching testing time so fingers crossed :) it would be lovely to have some more good news on the thread.

I'm off now to enjoy my last day off before back to work tomorrow! Booo hiss!!

felicityFlick · 31/08/2010 08:00

Morning early risers,

cookie Happy wedding anniversary today. Hope you have a nice celebration planned with your DH to take your mind off LP's and SA's. Do you normally have spotting before fbsbsfERTD arrives? If so, have you tried taking vit B6, garden swears by it. If not it could it perhaps be a positive sign? Don't apologise for the out burst, it's what we're here for and everyone listens to me moaning about my CBFM and stupid wonky cycles enough! I even bore myself :)

Thanks crazychick Keeping everything crossed for you too. Trying not to think of it is a good tactic I think, I will start to employ it myself I think as like I said above, I'm bored of myself now- I promise not to mention anything until after I have been to the docs on Monday.

Thanks cave, your weekend sounds fun :) Also jealous of a week off each month until the new year! Hope the week flies by for you.

crazybutterflylady · 31/08/2010 08:38

cookie it's my 3 year engagement anniv today :) congrats to you, hope you're doing something lovely. And spotting could be something other than ERTD. Don't worry just yet Wink

Flick it's easy in theory but much harder in practice! For example...

As I write there is a hayoooooge pregnant lady next to me. I am trying hard not to stick my tongue out at her and stomp my feet. Uh :(

womanlytales · 31/08/2010 10:22

Hello ladies,
Just spent some time catching up on the threads - Glad to see that we have a group of us coming up to poas this week / weekend. Lots of baby dust to all of you.
Flick I am so glad you're going to see a specialist - Best of luck with that. Terribly sorry for the bfn - I am kinda at that stage where I don't really believe I'll ever see a bfp on one of those damn sticks... when I do fall pregnant, I am convinced it will be a mysterious one... yes, am decidedly loopy!
garden I finished my Clomid on Sunday and we are yet to begin our swiathon ..thanks to a super busy weekend...I did however get called in for my scan today and there's a follicle (16mm) on my left ovary so they told us to get cracking over the next five days. I will need to go back next week to test if I have ovulated. The advice they gave me was every other day -- and maybe a little more often but not too often because 'the sperm quality then reduces significantly'. So here's to an exciting week ahead and everything crossed for ovulation to happen.

crazybutterflylady · 31/08/2010 10:28

womanly that's really exciting! Get shagging!!!

I thought the same about swimmers... one lady on the conception board was saying she does it 3 times a day Shock

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 10:43

Cookie and Crazy Happy Anniversaries :)

Flick Good luck with the specialist (and all your POAS before then Wink )

Womanly very exciting news about your follicle!

I too saw the woman who says she does it three times a day. How? Just... How? OH already thinks I'm a bit odd to be working when I'm ovulating and trying to SWI around that, never mind if I said to him we've got to do it three times a day all month.

LankyLegs · 31/08/2010 10:46

Hi lovelies,

How are you all?

Just a quick post as am back at work (boo hiss) to say sorry for the BFN Flick but pleased you have the gynae booked - like you said it's good having something booked in to investigate more.

Cookie sorry about the spotting and I hope that you enjoy your wedding anniversary today.

Womanly and garden good luck with the SWI-ing after clomid - got high hopes for you both this month! Great that scans are happening to look at the follicles too!

Florin hope you had a lovely holiday and welcome back!

Tomboy hope your DH is ok after the bike finger chopping incident - ouch! And hope you are doing ok in the 2WW - sounds rather confusing - got to love our bodies right?!

Toria and Yum sorry about FERTD - it's never easy when it arrives whether you have been trying 1 month or years.. it sucks full stop!

Cave am with you - sooo pleased it is a 4 day week (I also have Friday afternoon off so am even more pleased it is a 3.5 day week! How lovely having a week off each month for the next 3 months! It will be Crimbo before you know it!!

Garden hope you had a lovely time in Norfolk too.

Crazy sounds like you have had a focussed weekend - keeping fingers crossed for you!

Hello to everyone else!

Sorry for fleeting message!

Lovely weekend had in Porlock (Somerset coast) - awful to be back. Want to relocate to the SW and stick my fingers up to London and having to stare at a computer all day :(

I have to start thinking about SWI at some point this week too! Am hoping my thyroid is sorting itself out on time for ovulation.

Sorry - feeling a bit blue after wonderful long weekend!

Good luck to anyone waiting to test. Flick hope you get the situation resolved soon - I bet you just want to know now whether ERTD is going to arrive or not - so annoying.

Cheerio for now!

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 10:52

Morning all.

Well I've bloody well miscalculated and now I've missed the first 2 days of best time for SWI. Sunday was an oversight but I fully intended to last night but DH wouldn't because it was 'planned'. So now I am in a huff with him! Grin How does he expect us to make a baby if he won't SWI! Angry I have tried to explain to him that there are only certain times of the month when I can get pg and if we don't SWI then I won't get pg, so there's no way of not planning it seeing as my cycles appear to be like clockwork at the moment. I really wanted to give it my all this cycle but it's not to be. So when I get a BFN in 2 weeks time I'll think 'no wonder becasue we didn't make the most of it when we should have'. Bloody DH!

Anyway, had a great weekend up until then!

Off to catch up now cos loads has been going on since friday!

gardenpixie · 31/08/2010 11:30

Hello Frolickers!

Oh ladies you made me laugh SO much with Crazy and Tomboy's comments about Elms, Oaks and Daisys - had to cover up laughing sounds at work by pretending I was choking on my tea! Brilliant!

Toria I LOVE the idea of calling a little person Faraway. Definitely go for it. I freaked DH a bit by saying I wanted to call a potential little one sequoia but I had to fess up that I was only kidding.

Flick sorry about the BFN and general state of confusion. Good for you for getting the gynae appt in though as then you can get some advice or clarity over what's going on. Let's hope that you get a BFP before then though to explain it!

Cavey the idea of SWI-ing on airbed had me chuckling too! All that bouncing around - I'd be scared of everything going pop.

Womanly that is SO exciting about your follicule. I hope my ovaries are taking note and will have some viables to show in my scan tomorrow. I am sure if you have one at 16mm this early on that it will pop soon!

Lanky work is indeed booooooooooooooo. I hope your day is picking up. Keeping my fingers crossed that your thyroid is gearing up for some proper ovulation action!

Josie it is such a problem when men get uncomfortable about SWI-ing on the right days. I don't get it TBH - I mean shouldn't they love the fact that we are frisky? Grrrrr. Hope your DH gets over it.

Yum sorry you got ERTD'd.

Just off for yet another session of daydreaming in a meeting room important and productive meeting.

Big waves to everyone Smile

Toriajayne · 31/08/2010 12:30

Garden weirdly the name is one that OH loves as well, but for completely different (again fictional) reasons. Of course I know this means we'll have boys (opimistic today :) )

Hope everyone who's back at work isn't too stressed, I am being repaid for working the BH with a Tuesday off to clean things, sew badges on my scout shirt, wrap some birthday presents, do the ironing and put DVDs away (how, exactly, do they get in such a mess anyway? We have a unit dedicated to them, it's alphabetised and everything) and waiting for Homebase to deliver my mum's bathroom. I am instead watching the American Wedding for some guilty pleasure watching and slobbing about on the couch.

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 12:51

Toria you're a woman after my own heart! I often take days off to get the house done but quite often end up sitting watching tv instead! Grin

Well I have done all of today's work within half an hour of arriving at work this morning so got nothing to do but loiter with intent on here and come up with some ways of jumpin on DH tonight without it seeming planned. I'm sure the idea of it being planned won't cross his mind once I've started though Grin Blush

haloflo · 31/08/2010 13:08

Just wanted to let you know I posted good news on the grads thread! Hope everyone is ok, back soon to catch up.

gardenpixie · 31/08/2010 13:32

Toria I love the name sequoia - but Mr Garden is VERY traditional. I hope you get to use it! Smile

Haloflo so pleased your scan went well - congrats! Grin

Hope everyone's Tuesdays are going well xx

crazybutterflylady · 31/08/2010 13:57

halo congrats that's such good news! The next 6 months are going to fly by!! xx

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 14:51

Right. DH has been told straight Grin

I texted him saying that there's only one good time each month to get pg and we have to get at it if he wants to have a baby. He replied with 'but sex isn't fun if it's planned' so I told him that's bull and (sorry if TMI) the minute I touch his whatsits it'll be fun, planned or not. He said ok cos my text worked already and he needed to hide at work Blush.

So I have also told him we are donning the shag cape whether he wants to or not Grin

gardenpixie · 31/08/2010 14:56

Josie that's BRILLIANT! Hahahaha love it that he got going at work! See, men think they are these complex creatures who need seduction and spontaneous romance but just say a few dirty words and they perk up like bunnies. You go girl! Wink

I'm just obsessing ridiculously at the moment and have convinced myself that the stabby ov pains I have been feeling have gone and that means the clomid isn't working. Which I know is stupid and that I should wait until my scan tomorrow but grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I think I should find myself another meeting to go to so I can distract myself ...!

Hope everyone else is having a good afternoon!

xx

felicityFlick · 31/08/2010 15:11

I'm just off to bed now but just wanted to stop by and congratulate womanly on her follicle :) and wish garden luck for the scan tomorrow.

Will be back to catch up in the morning xx
