Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Oh and no AF around here - only FERTD.... Capishe??

Flick what a lovely text from your friend! Smile My friend who has an 11 month old baby gave me some advice the other day ? she said her homeopath told her that you?re most fertile 14 days before your period! Grin I really struggled not to point out that it depends if you have regular cycles, how long your luteal phase is etc Grin She obviously didn?t go through any of this as she would know that already.

HRHCavey have a fab time at Ascot! You should definitely give Mrs Lloyd-Webber your best rendition of ?how do you solve a problem like Mariaaaaaaaa? Grin

My tooth appears to be infected but I have a dentist appt on Monday, couldn?t get in any earlier but at least something?s going to happen. Although because I haven?t been for a year it?s a check up appt before I can make an appt to have my tooth looked at it! It makes no sense but I?m going to demand she does something about poorly tooth while I?m there. Am swilling salt water as much as I can to try and fight off the infection, don?t want to have to have it out! Envy that?s me feeling sick at the thought!

Anyway, hugs for everyone feeling a bit Sad.

LankyLegs · 24/09/2010 12:46

Hello lovely ones,

Poor fugde it is really quite fecking awful and unfair. I can not even imagine how her and her other half are feeling. Puts things into perspective doesn't it?

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to all for messages again. I am steering well clear of my sister aries as I fear that I will slap her!! It's totally true about the whole smug pregnant thing with her - she has popped 3 out one after the other and lives the lifestyle of a kept woman with very little worry (all my other sisters are often Shock about her general lack of sensitivity to most things). Hey ho. How are you anyway? Nice to have you pop in - we do miss your posts!

Toria enjoy the book - its an interesting read! Hope you had fun shopping too. I think we just have to give these 'alternative therapies' some time to do their thing. Hope the next session of reflexology is good.

Truff Thanks again - and yes the cosmo was well timed. I had 3 large glasses of white wine last night - that is technically a bottle right? I was in the pub with loads of people though!

Cavey hope you are having a great time in Ascot and do have a sing song oh won't you?!

Highheels I can believe you did pole dancing and acupuncture in one day? No wonder you were in a tis. Your message was lovely - and likewise - here if you wanna chat about feeling shitty xx

Flick that was a lovely message from your friend - how sweet. And she is totally right -we care fortunate to be in loving relationships and TTC.. Sometimes I feel like a total bitch feeling this way - esp when some of my best friends are still single and looking for Mr Right. We should try and be thankful for what we have. Hope you workshop is going well - annoying you have to work at the weekend though... that is pants chica.

Bella have a fabulous time at the wedding! Another opp to our you though - hope you manage to convince them why you are not drinking! Nurse a glass of wine for hours - that's always a good one.

Josie pleased you have booked an appt for your tooth finally!!

I spent yesterday evening in the pub with some of DH's work friends and am seeing all my bessie mates this evenin for more drinks and dinner. Its quite hard not to drink on these things go - just have to try and not get too shit faced!!

Have wonderful weekends everyone - mine is full of family dinners and lunches when actually I fancy a weekend in bed with a hot water bottle! I should really try and indulge in some shagging at some point as well - can't say I have been in the mood for it recently!

Off to my second part of a very boring health and safety training day - the things they pay us to do?!

Afternoon ladies and thank crunchie it's Friday Grin

Josie so glad you have got your dentist appointment sorted, I was feeling very anxious for you! Nice work on the JSing as well my love, from the sublime to the ridiculous hey Wink

Bella hope you have a lovely time at the wedding, I do love a good wedding although I tend to get somewhat emotional!

Flick nice friend, and you're right, we should feel happy with the things we do have and try not to focus on the things we are yet to enjoy. Plus, the positives are building up now (anyone concerned that they mostly centre around alcohol and food? No? Me neither Wink)

Cave hope you enjoy your day at Ascot and the weather perks up. Looks a bit grey from where I'm sitting so am doing a little sun dance for you

Lanky your evenings (last night and tonight) sound perfect and just the antidote to the doom clouding that's been about recently. TTCing sure can get stressful so lets all plan anti-stress activities to counterbalance our lives! Hope the afternoon isn't too painful.

Toria so glad you are sounding more up and hope tha retail therapy helped some more. I'm off shopping when I skive off early after work this afternoon, nothing like a bit of a mooch round Oxford Street to lift the spirit!

So this weekend I have a hen party (they are all coming down to London so it requires minimal effort from me, thank God) and DH is off to Manchester tomorrow morning for the stag. Tonight I think we shall take ourselves to the lovely local and get pissed have a social end of week drink. I'm also well up for some proper JSing and as I'm in the 2WW (ha, no symptoms really ongoing so think I'm just waiting for AF, how exciting Biscuit) it is genuinely with no intent, just to get my hands on the luscious DH before he heads of to be a lad for the weekend! He is heading back in time for us to meet up and watch the footie and have lunch on Sunday afternoon though, so best of both worlds really!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Our hen is quite reserved so I think it will be up to me and one of the other girls to create the mischief, here's to a fun night out tomorrow. Now, it's afternoon so who's going to help me start on the wine?

Kaloki · 24/09/2010 15:39

Just got back from the hospital, ultrasounds are no fun!! Had to have a full bladder, then sit there for ages while people wandered in and out of the waiting room helping themselves to glasses of water (drip drip) Almost thought it was all going to end badly!

Then I finally go in for the scan and the lady told me my bladder was too full! Hmm

Still, all done now, got to wait a week then see my GP for results. Still no ERTD here.

Also, went to the pharmacy this morning for cough syrup, and the woman there said
"mumble mumble whisper?"

Uh? Sorry?

"whisper whisper whisper?"

Um....

"are you pregnant?"

No, why the whispering??

JosieSmith1 · 24/09/2010 15:41

Well, in my desperation to stop the pain I spoke to my GP to see if I could get some antibiotics but they won't deal with dental problems and advised I ring my dentist, but they shut at 1pm on fridays and only see private patients on saturdays! No luck there then. So I phoned NHS direct who have found an emergency out of services dentist for me who can possibly give me some antibiotics and advised to keep it clean, get stronger painkillers and brush it Confused that'll be so painful!

At least something is getting done, and I know the antibiotics will kick in pretty quickly so hopefully the weekend won't be as bad as it's set to be right now!

Plenty JSing to keep me occupied methinks!

JosieSmith1 · 24/09/2010 15:57

That was a bit strange Kaloki!

Someone at work asked me (very loudly and in front of everyone might I add) when me and DH were gonna start making babies! Blush I just said whenever I get pg! Confused not sure what I'm supposed to say to that!

Kaloki · 24/09/2010 16:35

Eek, there really is no response is there?

Toriajayne · 24/09/2010 18:06

Flick What a lovely message :) Over a glass of wine one night my best mate and I (who has endometriosis and had to have allsorts of horrible things done to her cervix age 21 following a bad smear) decided that there is no celestial being out there who would deny our collecive friends of children that come from mine, hers, OHs and her fiance's genes Grin

Cavey Have a fab day!

Josie Glad you're going to the dentist! Fingers crossed it's not too nasty a procedure. Will be here with the cosmos when you get back :) Also been there with nosy colleagues, after my manageress dignosed me as pregnant when I was ill last month, and I eventually told her I wasn't she asked me, in the middle of the shop, whether we were trying, then proceeded to give me advice on how to conceive, despite not having kids herself

Poor fudge How fecking unfair :( Can only imagine how her and her OH are feelings.

Lanky Shopping was a bust, I am well and truly between sizes! Now love Dorothy Perkins though after stopping in there after work today and finding not only work trousers but new jeans Grin

Bella Enjoy the wedding Grin

Truff I am definitely up for some wine! What's on offer?

Kaloki What an odd pharmacist!

Currently have henna (which looks like green baby poo) on my hair, wrapped up in clingfilm, for the next three and a half hours, so nothing too strenuous for me Grin waiting for a phonecall from my best friend (we have to book appointments with each other as we're never free at the same time!) so will catch up on the girly chat , in the meantime, still have Angel on the go, think I shall have a hot bath and will enjoy the fact that I'm certain I'm not pregnant this month by indulging in wine, chocolate ice cream and heavily scented bubble bath.

maamalady · 25/09/2010 07:48

Hey everyone, I am pleased to report that Fertility Friend has drawn lines on my chart, so I have ovulated, hooray! Now the two week wait really starts in earnest. Mostly I'm just glad not to be dead inside though! Grin

raspberrytipple · 25/09/2010 08:41

Just a quick hello all from me, we are off to collect dp's new bike today from up country then family party tonight. I've used the opk sticks three days now and yesterday I had two bright pink lines but a very faint one on Thursday so I guess that means I'm now at my most fertile.? Also have shit loads of ewcm but I was so late home from work last night we didn't Get chance to do it before we went out and dp got drunk so didn't want to when we got home. However, done it this morning so hopefully that should be ok? What do you guys think? how soon after pink lines and ov Pains does one actually ovulate??
I'm impressed we've mangaged every other day at least so far this cycle!!

Will clock in tomorrow to properly update xx

highheelsandequations · 25/09/2010 09:31

raspberry OPK sticks are supposed to show positive 24-48 hours before ovulation, so your timing should be ok. Very impressed with your every other day!

Well fertility friend reckons I've ovulated. Yay! Unfortunately it reckons I ovulated last Sunday, when DP had been away from Friday so if it's right there is very litte chance we conceived as SWI only occured on the Thurs and Mon. Grr! Oh well, at least it thinks I've ovulated, not sure whether I believe it or not though Confused.

May be back later to catch up properly but off to a wedding this afternoon so depends how organised I am.

Happy Saturday everyone, hope you all have a lovely day. The sun is shining here for a change, might even manage to get out for a nice walk :)

Kaloki · 25/09/2010 10:39

I love this new bookmarking thing, can actually keep up with this thread again!

toriajane I tried using henna on my hair once, unfortunately my hair is so dark naturally it didn't do a thing. What colour are you going?

evilgirafe That's good news!

raspberry Bloody hell, every other day? I'm knackered just thinking about it! lol

highheels Hope the weather stays nice for you

I'm now 14 days late, was going to POAS but forgot this morning. Do I try it later or wait till tomorrow? I kind of don't want to at all, at least this way I can hold on to a little bit of hope. How great would it be to have conceived around the time of the wedding?

highheelsandequations · 25/09/2010 10:42

Kaloki if I were you I'd be unable to wait till tomorrow, fingers crossed for you x

gardenpixie · 25/09/2010 12:51

Hello Frolickers how are you all?

Sorry to have been MIA for so long. Just feeling incredibly glum about everything and have been travelling around the country like a mad thing with work.

No FERTD as yet but I have been having some spotting for a few days so am expecting FERTD to arrive shortly.

Just getting really fed up with not knowing what's going on with my body and am feeling pretty rubbishy about non-pg status. Hurrrumph.

Anyway, I hope everyone is well and I promise to catch up on everything I've missed over the weekend and post for longer before Monday. (Will make the extraordinary amount of work I have to do over the weekend vaguely less awful!).

Big waves, cocktails and cake to everyone xx

HRHCavey · 25/09/2010 13:12

Hi everyone, just checking back in to report on yesterday.

It was a lovely day, though the weather was miserable! Sadly Madeleine Lloyd Webber cancelled at the last minute, so no singing!

it was a very long day, took me two hours to drive there and three hours to drive back, so I was pretty darn tired!

Had a dance lesson this morning and was told that my exam results had come back and I scored in the 90s - yay me!
I also had a chat with my teacher about taking over the salsa class and she has said she'll give me all the help I need to set things up, so looks like it is going ahead!

Sorry about the me me me post, I shall try to catch up on all your goings on now.

Happy Saturday!

Kaloki · 25/09/2010 14:44

After hearing that my MIL has shingles, we figured it was best to do a test so we'd know how at risk I am. Got a BFN.

Wonder how long this cycle will last then.

maamalady · 25/09/2010 20:50

Oh, Kaloki, I'm sorry to hear that.

highheelsandequations · 26/09/2010 10:10

Sorry Kaloki, hope you're okay.

garden lovely to hear from you but so sorry you're feeling so rubbish, think it's catching.

Wedding yesterday was good fun, except I started feeling really sick at about 10pm and so couldn't enjoy myself properly. Still feeling awful this morning and my tummy is not happy at all, so either I drank much more wine than I thought I had or I ate something dodgy. So I'm off to spend my Sunday curled up on the couch feeling yucky. Not good. Hope to be back later to catch up properly.

raspberrytipple · 26/09/2010 10:38

good morning girls, it's been very quiet in here over the weekend!!

Kaloki I'm sorry to hear about your BFN, I hope ERTD shows up soon for you so you can get on with the next round. Our twice a week has been rather tiring but... how proud are we of me girls, I think it was on tuesday but we did it before we got up for work, once when we got home and then at bed time too! I suffered the next day though, I couldn't stay awake at work. Didn't tell anyone why though Grin

HRH how exciting getting your own dance class! I've always wanted to try salsa but always been too scared to go on my own and DP wont go with me but moans if I say I will go because he thinks I shall meet some young firey stud who will sweep me off my feet and I'll run away into the night with them. Ha.... I should be so lucky!!!

Garden I hope work quietens down for you soon. Do you always do a lot of travelling with it? Try to stay positive, it is hard though. It's funny how some months its ok and I don't worry about not being pg and just enjoy having another few weeks of not worrying about drinking and doing silly things but then others it really hurts like a kick in the bloody face. Hope you feel better soon.

evil congratulations on your ovulation! I thought about trying fertility friend and signed up to a 6 week 'course' on monitoring my fertility but got bombarded with that much information in the space of a day I just couldn't face logging on again to look! I might try it again if I'm not pg by Christmas.

toria what does wrapping baby poo in clingfilm do to ones hair then? Is it nourishing or like a hair dye? I'm so uneducated in these things, my hairs lucky if I use a hair dryer on it I pay so little attention to it!

josie how is your tooth? I really think you should get to the dentist, I don't know how you have stuck it out this long! I would be going out of my mind, one thing I can't handle is tooth ache. But then I am a complete wimpy wimp, my pain threshold is zero. How did the JSing go?

Truffkin hope the hen party was good! And aren't you well behaved not doing any symptom spotting. I am guessing I am now on 2ww having ovulated on Friday/Saturday is my guess. I've already decided I might have morning sickness because I feel queezy but I actually think that's the wine I drank last night Hmm

Lanky hope the second half of the training wasn't too painful! Your sister sounds like a complete nightmare. I'm kind of glad I only have brothers but actually in a very odd moment my big brother (who is old and rather dumb I like to think) asked me a while ago if I thought DP and I would ever like to have children. It was just such a surreal but sincere moment that I just went 'well, we haven't done anything to prevent it for a while so will just have to wait and see what happens". This was last year when we were six months into trying but I then went back on the pill for a few months in January due to work. Dont know why I made such an admission, it just came out! He was very sweet but doesnt really understand I don't think, he and his GF came off the pill and were pg 6 weeks later!

MissFlick your friend sounds lovely, she is obviously not Lankys sister! Perhaps they should be introduced and some of your friend might rub off on lankys sister!

highheels congratulations to you too on your ovulation, hopefully DPs sperm are super spunk and will last for at least a week to wait for that egg! I am quite comforted by the fact that it is 24 hours or so once the OPK shows a line, I reckon I might be ok this month, we SWI on Thursday and yesterday morning. Wish we'd managed it Fri night now though, I'm getting far too obsessed! I'm sure its not good for me. Hope the wedding was fun!

Hello to everyone else ((waves)). Well, as I said above we've managed to do it at the right times so fingers crossed for this month. I don't have anything coming up party wise until the day ERTD is due so I don't have to worry about hiding a potential pg from anyone this month! I really hope I am, desperately want to be preggers over Christmas and I also would like a June baby. My dad retires next June so will be on hand to keep me company if a LO comes along! My mother made me laugh last night, I was drinking red wine but had a poorly tummy so wanted to take something for it but before she gave it to me wanted to check where I was in my cycle!! I said i was ovulating according to my OPK sticks and she went 'oh exciting'!! She's so funny bless her, I'm glad I told her, she doesn't go on about it but she's like my best friend so can talk about it with her whenever I'm feeling crappy. Oh well, off to do the shopping, I feel like buying treats as I'm now off booze for two weeks. What shall I get??

Bye all xx

HRHCavey · 26/09/2010 10:47

Good morning all.

Kaloki sorry about the BFN. Fingers crossed it was just too early to test.

Highheels hope you feel better soon - really hope you don't have what I had, it's not pleasant!

Raspberry have fun shopping! It must be so nice to be able to talk to your mum about TTC. We decided not to tell anyone (except PinkLady, a lady I work with and of course all of you!) as we thought it would add pressure. Sometimes it would be nice to say something to the parents, as I am sure they are wondering when something might happen!

[waves] to everyone else! Enjoy your Sunday!

Afternoon everyone

Just a quick post, tooth not much better, phoned out of hours dentist on friday who said just to keep it clean and use corsodyl mouthwash and when they hung up I cried my eyes out! I haven't eaten anything solid since friday night (attempted egg foo yung which I mainly swallowed whole!) so I'm starving but DH is trying his best and is really helping me (he's currently doing the housework). Phoned dentist again yesterday and got an appt at half 7 last night and she said I was doin a good job of keeping it clean and gave me some antibiotics so hopefully I'll be able to eat soon. Dh says he'll take me to our fave restaurant once I can eat again. This morning the top wisdom tooth on the opposite side started coming back through and I hav got DH's cold. Not a happy bunny right now!

Read the ibuprofen leaflet which says it can stop you getting pg while you're using it so I've stopped that cos I'm on day 10 now so need to get JSing! Not that I have the energy! Think I should just tell DH that JSing will make me feel better cos if I don't I'll regret it come 2 weeks time

Sorry for the essay and sorry I haven't caught up properly, back at work tomorrow so will do then. Hope everyone is ok though

Hope everyone is well and having a good weekend

Kaloki · 26/09/2010 13:18

I didn't know that about ibuprofen! I have to take it regularly for back pain :(

JosieSmith1 · 26/09/2010 13:26

I didn't either. It's on the leaflet inside though so you should have a look, I might have got it all wrong! I can't remember exactly what it says
