I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Hi Frolickers, I've just time for a quick one (oh go on then I'll have 2 as they're on offer!) pornstar and catch up after the weekend.

Kkas so pleased to hear your Mom's results were good, really chuffed for you

Florin sending for your lost pets and especially your wedding gifts from hubby. Hope he's taking care of you.

Rasp glad to hear things have calmed down with your friends, the things alcohol does to normally rational people hey!

Flick your weekend sounds lovely, relaxing and full of good food and company, perfect!

So my weekend was busy, went back up to Birmingham and stayed with the in laws. I had a nice girlie night with my MIL and a bottle of eine on Friday, then catching up with family followed by the Villa match on Saturday and a proper boozy night out until 4am!! I'm too old though and am off for an early night tonight as still tired!! My highlight though was seeing the Pope really close up yesterday. He was at Oscott college, which is about a mile from my in laws so we walked down yesterday and saw him as he came out and drove past, it was unbelievable. Saturday wad my OV day so I did have a sneaky thought that if I turn out to be pg, the Pope will have blessed my unborn child, what a soppy git I am!

Hi to everyone else, will hopefully have time to chat properly tomorrow as am quieter at work. Nught night frolckers and thanks for the pornstars!

Florin · 20/09/2010 22:04

Truffkin Glad you had a lovely weekend,
Evilgiraffe Lucky you going away with your dh sounds like you had a lovely time away together.
Rasberry Good luck with the OPK's and hope you feel better soon, there seems to be a lot of the cold and flu thin going around

To cheer me up Dh has booked us into a really lovely hotel on Thursday night as we have a couple of days off really looking forward to it as be nice to get away from everything. It has a spa too so can really relax!
Our one remaining duck Wonky looks like she is recovering from her wound. No idea how she was the one surviving duck. The reason she is call wonky is because she is epileptic (only I could have an epileptic duck!!!) anyway because of a bad fit she had recently she has a bad limp so must be the slowest one of the lot. She does look a little lost without her mates though.

TomboyWife · 21/09/2010 06:38

Morning ladies!

I meant to post this yesterday evening, but husbands and dogs and housework kept getting in the way.

Bellaby I remember seeing a professional ladies' tennis match a few years ago, and the commentators said this was one competitor's last tournament for a bit as she was 3 months pregnant. So I'm guessing that playing while preggers is safe!

Florin so sorry to hear about your birds. Sad

Raspberry sorry to hear you're ill. It's been snot city round ours the last week or two (mostly DH, but then I caught a mild version of it last week). 'Tis the season I guess.

Not a lot happening here. AF has said her farewells, so it's time for the SWI to begin. And I need to contact the GP and suggest we repeat my bloods on a month when I'm not having a weird, long, anovulatory cycle.

HRHCavey · 21/09/2010 07:00

Morning ladies, back to the daily grind again! Feeling a little off this morning - I suspect I have contracted Easyjet lurgy!

Florin so sorry to hear about your birds and bunny. Bloody foxes! I can't understand why people get so doe eyed over the skanky vermin! I know so many people that have lost chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs etc to Mr Fox. I even know of someone who lost a litter of puppies to a fox in broad daylight! Evil creatures.

Thought I'd fill you in on one of the more amusing aspects of our trip to Prague - the local taste in music! Perhaps we were just unfortunate enough to get two taxi drivers with odd taste! The first driver (from the airport to the hotel) was tuned to a radio station that played THE strangest mas up I have ever heard - Enya's " Sail Away" mixed with the dance beat from Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up"! I mean honestly, can you think of two songs that are more polar opposite?!

The second was on Sunday, and whilst not as stance as the first, it was pretty odd: a ballad version of 50 Cent's "Ayo Technology"! Just a man and a guitar singing a song about a lapdancer! Very odd!

Right, must dash for now - got a great big pile of washing to sort before I head to work!

HRHCavey · 21/09/2010 08:36

Urrgghh, scratch EasyJet lurgy and upgrade it to EasyJet Plague! I feel totally rotten and have called in sick. Think I must have eaten something funny as my stomach is all over the place. Back to bed for me!

kkas · 21/09/2010 09:26

cavey get some rest hun. the flu is definitely going around. so funny about the music in prague though. isn't it a beautiful place? DH and i went nearly 7 years ago at christmas time and it is still one of our fav trips we ever took together.

tomboy have fun with the SWI! my FERTD has also left but we are sticking to our 'break' for now so won't be trying too hard this month or next until i've started my new job.

florin so sorry to hear about your birds and bunnies. how traumatic! really hope Wonky recovers shortly.

JosieSmith1 · 21/09/2010 09:31

Been doing cross-country with horsey MissFlick and she was an absolute star!! Grin

Oh Florin, so sorry to hear about the fox attack!

Hope you feel better soon HRHCavey!

Sorry to everyone I have missed, can?t catch up properly yet but will do later.

Toriajayne · 21/09/2010 11:48

Hope you feel better soon Cavey there are som cracking bugs going around up here so look after yourself!

Thanks Bella, I'm still no convinced but will rewatch the season now and see if I'm less inclined to throw things at the TV lol.

Evil My FF says I haven' ovulated either and that on day 24 I'm probably in my fertile phase Hmm Think not doing my temps properly this month has confused it!

I'm about to head off for my reflexology session so wish me luck! I've given myself a pedicure to try and avoid any revolted looks when I take my socks off lol. In other news OH is away to Sweden, with, he thinks, everything, after having me up til 1am doing hoodies for the kids! I did POAS before he left and got a BFN, which I expected as one, it's too early and two, I have no idea when/if I ovulated this month so the odds of me being upduffed are slim to none. Have already started working on my dates for next month lol...

JosieSmith1 · 21/09/2010 11:57

Sorry for BFN Toria

I have horrendous toothache today - wisdom tooth coming through and it's killing me! So glad I'm not pg and can down ibuprofen till the cows come home! I need it!

There will be about zero chance of JSing this month as DH seems to have taken up celibacy Confused

maamalady · 21/09/2010 13:27

Sounds odd, Toria! Maybe FF just likes guessing?

It seems that this thread is lucky, anyway - after posting on here I POAS last night, and boom, an LH positive! The temps haven't shown anything useful yet, but the ov sticks have given me hope that I really might be back to normal. Hoorah!

MissFlick · 21/09/2010 14:53

Sorry not been on today, I'm super busy at work but just popping by to say get well soon to cavey and congrats on the positive OPK evil :) Hope you will be getting a positive on another kind of stick very soon!

Love to all xx

Toriajayne · 21/09/2010 14:54

Cheers Josie Was expecting it so not too traumatic :) Hope your toothache clears fast!

Evil Glad things are picking up for you, good luck with SWI!

Well I'm back from reflexology and have stopped crying long enough to drive and switch on the computer so there's hope yet!

She was really good! All I told her was I wanted a general check over, needed to chill and was TTC. She got me set up and chilled out and I was really getting into the whole zen-like, sleepy state they say you should feel. When she'd finished she asked how I'd felt and what I thought, I said a few bits were sensitive and she talked me through it. She picked up on my sky-high stress levels, depressive tendencies and insomnia (and showed me where they were on my foot and right enough, those bits were tender) then she worked down and told me about a neck and back problem I've had for years but which doesn't manifest physically and no one knows about other than my employer, then my digestive system which is completely to pot, then she got to my ankles. Bearing in mind so far she's been spot on about everything. She got to a bit where I'd been dragged out of my trance by physical pain, on both feet. These bits were my uterus and ovaries :( On the upside my fallopian tubes are great! I managed to wait until she'd left the room before bursting into tears, and she gave me a good ten minutes to calm down, showed me to a bathroom to wash my face, gave me water etc, then talked me through my options WRT where to go from here. I'm going to go back next week, and then probably decide on a weekly basis if I want to go back. She explained how the treatments should work if they were effective, so I think I might as well give it a shot. And it's designed to balance the whole body so anything that can give me a semblance of balance can only be a good thing!

I know realistically it's not a scientific diagnosis, and that there are girls on here facing bigger hurdles than me, but she was so right about everything that I'm just gutted. Supposed to take it easy this afternoon so going to bring my duvet down and sob my little heart out to some terrible film or other I think. Desperate to get wasted off my face but have cubs tonight and no alcohol in the house so that's a non-starter really lol.

Karstan · 21/09/2010 15:56

Hello ladies!

I'm now cd10 on cycle 4 so just getting to the fun bit :)

Had a fab holiday then a hectic couple of weeks with work, weddings etc. hence being MIA. Haven't even had chance to try and catch up with the thread, but if I waited to post might be missing until Christmas.

JosieSmith1 · 21/09/2010 16:25

Wow Toria that sounds quite intense! Really interesting how they can pick up on things like that! Never had it myself but could fancy it.

Hi Karstan glad you had a good holibob.

Toothache is very bad at the minute Sad, drugged up on ibuprofen and DH made me a sarnie for dinner and it took me the whole hour to eat it, was cold and soggy by the end.

On the plus side, spoke to DH properly at lunchtime and we made up. He even promised he?d hang the ironing up instead of leaving it on the bed like he did last time (half a job Harry is his new nickname Grin). I asked if we could have shnuggles tonight and he suggested in bed so fingers crossed he?s on the right track Grin. I?m sure I can help him unleash his inner sex god, lol! Sod?s law says I?ll get pg and not be in the mood for the next 9 months, hee hee GrinGrin

LankyLegs · 21/09/2010 17:00

Hello Frolickers

cavey hope you feel better chica - lots of nasty bugs going around at the mo.

Karstan welcome back! Sounds like you had a lovely break!

Josie please you have made up with your Dh - hope the toothache subsides some what. I often get wisdom teeth problems and they are a nightmare.

Toria - sounds like reflexology was productive - but don't try and get too stressed about the whole ovary thing - like you said it is not a scientific diagnosis and if you continue with treatment then maybe some of the symptoms will relive themselves? It's positive that you are doing something productive.

Florin your poor animals and the fox attack - that's bloody awful my dear. Hope you and they are ok.

Evil fantastic news on the positive OPK! Get SWI-ing girl! Am soo please you got it after your horrendously long cycle. Fingers crossed for this month!

Rasberry sorry you are feeling shitty as well - its going around isn't it?! I don;t care what you say - your pole dancing sounds impressive! I read that article the other day about the woman who is paralysed - very sad , but like you said probably a very rare occurrence.

Flick you seem just as busy! Me no like busy either. Grrr! I did spend quite a bit on Sunday in Westfield - was very naughty 0 but all work stuff as I literally had nothing. The thing is - this last year I have out off buying anything thinking - what's the point! If I get pregnant none of it will fit - so have brought the off casual thing - floaty stuff that you can expand into. So I purchased a really nice suit from Reiss, a jacket, some tops from Cos and Oasis and a dress from Warehouse. I think I must have spent £500 eek!!! But like I said I wont be shopping now for AGES!

Crazy pleased you are well. blood stagnant - I think she suggests things like hot water bottles, tummy massage and aubergines! Need to make notes!

Waves to bella truff highheels alien and everyone else!

womanly pleased you are having a lovely break! Look forward to having you back!

Im off to accupuncture session no 2 this evening - so looking forward to that! Sort of!

Catch you all later!

Hi frolicking lovelies

Hope you've all had a good day. Have you noticed we have inboxes now? How exciting! It would happen just after I pay my huge sum of £5 to use CAT but I don't care, it makes me happy to have a little inbox Grin

lanky good luck with the hot water bottles etc. And Mmmmmmmmm Melanzane Parmigiana mmmmmmm that's aubergines! Lucky you! Get thee to Pizza Express immediately and scoff one!

xx

HRHCavey · 21/09/2010 17:40

Hello ladies, reporting in from my sick bed - well, under the duvet on the sofa!

Feeling much better now, but had a horrid morning/early afternoon. I was rushing to the loo to be sick pretty much every half an hour between 9am and 3pm (sorry if TMI!). I've been ok since then, though still feel a little queasy, and have managed to keep down a few glasses of water and one whole dry oatcake! Feels like my apetite may be returning so I shall risk a bowl of soup shortly.

Toria sounds like the reflexology session was very intense. The more i think about it, the more I think I need to make myself an appointment. I shall drop the lady in Cambridge an email this evening.

kkas have you been to Venice? We went last year for our first wedding anniversary and loved it, even though we were with MiL, BiL and his GF. Don't get me wrong, they are all lovely but MiL caused a bit of an atmosphere when she made a snide remark about DH putting on weight! He was really hurt by it and she couldn't see that she'd said anything wrong!
Anyway, I digress - if you enjoyed Prague you would love Venice. I can highly recommend a fabulous restaurant in Venice if anyone is planning a trip - we had our anniversary dinner there.

Right signing off for a bit now, will try to check in later on.

crazybutterflylady · 21/09/2010 17:42

cavey hug hug sweetie, hope you feel better soon. I always find with a bad tummy that flat full fat coke helps - sip it if you can xx

Truffkin · 21/09/2010 18:35

Just about to head home but wanted to pop in to say hi to Toria and send uplifting cyber drinks to assist. As you said, the reflexology is a) not a medical diagnosis and b) intended to balance out your whole body and address some of the 'blockages' that might be occuring, so you could find it helps with your TTCing. At least you are doing something positive and that lets you zone out for the alloted time, which can only help with the stress.

I'm off for another session tomorrow and have so far found it really relaxing and enjoyable. I also had a couple of tender points around my mid to lower back (always been a problem due to ridiculously large boobies!) and around my kidneys so have been upping my fluid intake and introduced cranberry juice since last time, am interested to see if it makes any difference.

Florin · 21/09/2010 18:44

Ertd turned up today so day 1 again for me and if someone is kind enough to change the list any chance my ucl could be changed to 32?
Not as gutted as I have been other months (no tears yet!) as I have my ultrasound scan booked and it looks like it will fall a day before I ovulate so guess that is good as wouldn't i then have a chance of picking up if I have pco? I have been really nervous of it as my twin has it. Kind of feel I get to start some tests early due to this minor pain I have been having otherwise would have to wait until we have been trying for a month so feeling more positive. Going to order that book you have all been going on about too :-)

Toriajayne · 21/09/2010 21:13

Lanky and Truff I've started to cheer up a bit now, it was just a shock that those two areas in particular were so painful compared to the rest of me! I'm definitely going to go for a few more sessions and hopefully that way we can work out some of the blockages I've got going on without anything getting worse or needing medical attention (and if it helps with my stress and digestion as well then bring it on!) I've spoken to my cynical OH who was surprisingly copassionate and even suggested I should sign up for treatment for as long as it takes which was nice!

Cavey I'd definitely recommend it, the experience itself was wonderful!

highheelsandequations · 21/09/2010 21:36

Hi girls,

I've been here lurking over the past few days but not really feeling up to posting, don't want to drag you down into the pit with me! Nothing particular, just still no evidence of ovulation without the clomid and no further progress with clinic. Think I just hate feeling so out of control and wish there was something I could be doing. Have been desperately re-reading Emma Cannon and trying to do visualisation and positive reinforcement and have been lying in the bath with my essential oils but it just seems so pointless at the moment. Broke down crying on DPs shoulder for a good hour tonight, but I find it really difficult to tell him what I'm feeling. He seems to think it hasn't been that long, and it'll happen when it's meant to, and there are people in worse positions. Maybe I'm not doing justice to him and he does understand but I still find it hard to speak to him in any great detail about it all. Sorry, said I wasn't going to post misery again and have done. Profound apologies for the many recent me me me posts. Please don't kick me out of the penthouse, I will stop complaining soon. Hope everyone's doing okay. Sorry to those who have been feeling down/poorly/rubbish and to those who have FERTD. Good luck and have fun to those entering the SWI phase.

I'm determined to turn over a new leaf and be back here tomorrow to down some cocktails, catch up properly with all the news and have some proper and cheery girly chat. If I whinge again in the next week you all have permission to slap me across the face with an object of your choice. :o

Now I'm off to raid the biscuit tin and then hide in bed with a hot water bottle.

PS: Thanks for asking about me raspberry and sorry you had a sh*tty night on Saturday and have been poorly. Hope you're feeling better. xx

Truffkin · 21/09/2010 22:00

Oh HighHeels don't worry about complaining to us, it's what we're here for and there's no question about getting thrown out you silly sausage! Here, have this oh go on then, this as well. They should cheer you up, or at least drown those sorrows well and truly. Chin up cherub, you're doing all you possibly can.

highheelsandequations · 21/09/2010 22:15

. Thanks truffkin, that's definitely helped

raspberrytipple · 21/09/2010 22:50

oh highheels don't be silly, this is the only place we can all have a safe moan because we all understand what we are going through. Keep your chin up hun, I hope you feel better soon. Just a quick post from me as i apparently have ECWM so need to get SWI, DP has been mega twitchy all night as we have been out for a meal and he wanted to get home. Will check in tomorrow xx
