Last call for flight SWI101 to Shagaluff. Sangria laced with folic acid on tape. Fake tanned Club reps will be dishing out the 2 for 1 cocktails, dressed in nothing but the most miniscule budgie smugglers. The pit will be manned by sleazy but virile Spanish waiters to provide your every need. Lets see the summer out in BESHley style, IE: starting a bar fight, drinking the place dry and falling over in a heap at the end of the night.

I know too! And they are good choices...and not at all like the area I was probably thinking about...in a good way Grin

I'm not sure I can even give a clue where I am (as I live here now and may completely out myself) but there are delis and great independent shops, greengrocers, butchers etc... it just doesn't have that pretentious up it's own arse feel about it that some other places do - suppose that's what I mean about boden mummies I too look forward to the day I'm stuffing myself with cake whilst chatting with my friends and cooing over my beautiful son/daughter/both cause I'm gonna have twinz right {grin}

I don't really know what I consider myself...always say working class because of family circumstances but clearly hold and partake in alot of supposedly middle class beliefs/activities ... and shopped in Waitrose yesterday Confused. I agree ocs that the definition is so wide ranging now we (society) perhaps need to think of some new labels for everyone Hmm Grin

In other matters I am right royally fucked off and miserable today...not enjoying this build up to IUI in the slightest :(

Ariesgirl · 21/08/2010 15:31

Occy here's a very important question: HOW OLD ARE YOU? Your talk of Sainsbury's has me quivering in anticipation...though I've a nasty feeling I'm considerably, considerably older than yow.

Ariesgirl · 21/08/2010 15:32

Before I was a member of MN I had never heard of Boden. Is it for baby clothes?

Ocarina · 21/08/2010 15:33

Sorry to hear you're having a crappy day Tarty. Can you blame it on the drugs and things? I imagine the emotional rollercoaster of IUI must be like the ttc one, but magnified many times. If that's a fair comment then I can't imagine it's any fun at all. It must be time for afternoon tea to try and cheer you up - scones, jam and proper Rodda's clotted cream?

cincotart · 21/08/2010 15:34

I hadn't either, think they clothe the whole family.

And feel bad for singling out boden wearers - but it was to support a point!

Ocarina · 21/08/2010 15:36

Aries I'd never heard of Boden either. I think MN invented it! (So I have no idea what it's for). I don't think you're considerably older than me, but possibly enough that our paths were unlikely to have crossed, especially as I did a gap year (which presumably makes me even more middle class although I stayed in Blighty and did worthy things rather than travelling the world) so that would put an extra year between us if that makes sense....

cincotart · 21/08/2010 15:38

I'm blaming the drucks....although don't recall feeling like this last time Hmm Think I'm just a miserable cow :(

Ooh cream tea with proppa clotted cream, nom nom nom. In fact I'll just have the cream ta.

Ariesgirl · 21/08/2010 15:43

I'm absolutely salivating for a cream tea now. JOIN ME CINCO

Headbanger · 21/08/2010 15:49

Is the drucks Cinco I reckon Sad. Nothing for it but untramelled self-indulgence on a positively Roman scale.

I'm preparing for A Night Out with the OM Smile. We having dinner at a place near Soho that's been churning out British food for tuppence ha'penny since the War (indeed I strongly suspect it's the same tin of Bird's custard they're using to accompany the treacle sponge), and then to the Proms. All this talk of cream tea is making me staaaaaaaarving: I've been saving my monstrous appetite for tonight

Orchid12 · 21/08/2010 15:50

Scorps and Cincs - loving the Hall that sounds sheepish clue! We live not far from said Hall.

Dashing back out so can't comment on rest of the fred.

Nipple tweaks to all!

cincotart · 21/08/2010 15:55

Your wish is my command

cincotart · 21/08/2010 16:01

Dead Envy HB. Have always fancied a trip to the proms. Looked into it this year as Mr T would pee his pants if he could be at the last night but never realised you have to attend 5 or somefink?! One for future when we have more than some old sweetie wrappers and a few bits of fluff in the piggy bank.

Another merry member of the Robin Hood land band orchid - this is getting really spooky Shock

cincotart · 21/08/2010 16:02

Have a wonderful time BTW bangers

Multiple posting over, soz Blush

MountTheFairy · 21/08/2010 16:04

Ooh, what's the place BangerryMash?

Huge, huge grope to Cinco. Oh, sorry, did that hurt?

Headbanger · 21/08/2010 16:12

Is cheapest night out in Tahn Cincs - £7 to be a promenader: cheaper than t'cinema, & if you sit up in the Gods you can dine on a picnic and a bottle of wine while the finest music in the world plays. I love it . Tonight is Mahler and Beethoven 3, & tomorrow is a Rogers & Hammerstein fest (we scored a weekend pass off a mate).

Is the Stockpot Mounts - I think there are 3 of them...

MountTheFairy · 21/08/2010 16:17

Oh yeah. Soho. Haven't been in such a long time.

Ariesgirl · 21/08/2010 16:19

A prom! How exciting! "Wouldn't you just die without Mahler?" Anyone? Anyone?

Scorpette · 21/08/2010 16:19

Ooooh, Orchid is nearby too! Grin We must become preggo BESHtwins and be v competitive over our BESHbabies Wink

Occy, You got me wrong - we want to MOVE TO the area you're on about (although bizarrely enough, they are building a Tesco there now, although the Sains will remain). We live in a much crappier area at the mo. The area I think you're referring to has always been a good blend of all classes and races, with lots of students there too.

Saladbomb · 21/08/2010 16:25

Mmmm cream tea, just been invited to chef friends house tomorrow to be chief taster for new desserts she is trying out. Excited!!! I will bring back tasters for all.

tartypant hope it is the rrrrugs causing you rage and that it dissipates soon. Treat yourself and MrT to something naughty and tasty. (I fear this TTC is going to make me the size of a house* so might as well bring everyone else along with me)

HB the proms eh? How middle class of you ;-) Enjoy your night.

I know of Boden because of my job but IMO it is over priced and rather twee (I will probably have my MN account deleted for saying that :o) I would be very surprised if any discerning BESH would be found wearing it.

Having a massively lazy day today, can't be arsed going to the plot, think I am going to sit off and watch Eclipse this avo Have to go to shop first to get ingredients for lasagna first tho (see above*)

Ariesgirl · 21/08/2010 16:30

I haven't seen it for years but come out with that line every time someone mentions Mahler, as they frequently do in the middle class circles I move in. It's usually met with a blank stare.

Love it when Michael Caine says "Frankly no."

Scorpette · 21/08/2010 16:33

PS Sorry you're feeling rubbish, Tarty. Keep telling yourself it will be so worth it for the OMG_Twinz (boy and girl) you will win with the IUI magic
PPS I want to know where this groovy place full of indie shops and Delis is in Robin Hood Land. I suspect I know where it is. Does 'MMM...' mean anything to you? Wink

MountTheFairy · 21/08/2010 16:42

CinkoPie soz if I missed impo info (ok, that's sad) but when ooi scheduled for? Sometime in September I seem to remember.

Btw, dead impressed by your lifestory, just didn't comment.

Ocarina · 21/08/2010 16:44

Sorry Scorps, I'm causing confusion, I realised it's where you want to move to, it was the mention of Tesco and Ocado that sounded different to when I was there. It's definitely an area with a good mix, and the students that live there tend to be the postgrad/international/can cope without being staggering distance from town so less likely to puke all over the pavement sort which is always a bonus (unless that's changed). We used to regularly frequent our nearest pub where the locals tended to be bemused by the sight of students at all.

Ariesgirl · 21/08/2010 16:46

We used to frequent a pub in the said city which was exactly like the Jockey in Shameless. It had one room that students went in and one room everyone else went it and never the twain met.
