wow well done on your interview JS fingers crossed for next one

bebe- the saying goes that u always have one easy one and one hard one lol, everywhere i go i get told that DD has a very strong mind of her own which makes her not so easy at times, i am lucky in the fact that she will eat more or less most things and has neva been a problem feeding touch wood as it cud all change, the only thing i cant get her to eat is pieces of fruit she just tries them then spits them out or throws them on floor, i have to give her dried fruits or fruit puree instead

bebejones · 14/09/2010 13:46

JBells - I don't have much of a problem with DD eating fruit, but she now won't eat a single vegetable & won't eat meat or fish at all, except occasionally fish fingers, ham or sausage (ie all the processed stuff Hmm, give her a lovely roast dinner or cottage pie & she screams the house down! She is also very stong willed & fiercely independant! Makes life fun, but wouldn't want her any other way she is hilarious! :o Sounds like your DD is very similar personality wise!

Have work to do for DH, can't be arsed at all Hmm DD is still eating lunch...45mins and counting! LAcking motivation of any sort today is probably a combination of AF and the utterly miserable cold weather :(

Oh girls waiting is doing my head in today! Been waiting now so long. Almost unbelievable how long this has been going on now! DH started his new job today so we're getting there, but it's dragging. The dark nights closing in are getting me down, last year the winter months seemed to last forever!

Good news about the interview JS. Now set to meet up with the shark this evening so hopefully I can make some progress on the job search too. Other agents have been quite negative but we'll see.

Come on Bebe we've been waiting for this day all year! Ring the nurse!

JustShaggingForNow · 14/09/2010 15:01

Bloody negative agents - they make me so damn cross!!!

This crap weather is making me feel miserable too but I am trying to carry on with the running as it does seem to make me feel a bit more positive and upbeat. That and a glass of wine helps me get through the weeknights!!!

100years · 14/09/2010 15:10

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would post a quick hello before heading off to work.

amanda I feel your frustration at waiting. It's very difficult, but I'm trying unsuccessfully to convince myself that the months so far have gone quickly and we've only just made the decision and so the rest of the year will go quickly, but it's definitely like waiting for Christmas when you are a kid.

What does AF stand for, all I can think is April Fools, but that sounds wrong to me.

bebejones · 14/09/2010 15:51

AF is Auntie Flo ie. period is one of those silly MN things!

Did anyone else watch 'Cherry has a baby', I'm watching it now!

bebe- my DD will eat just about everything other than fruit loves roast dinners will eat any kind of veg, pasta potatoes fish, meat etc i just cant get her to eat fruit, she likes crap to snack on better, but dont we all lol

well day 40 of cycle today and AF still not here have bin convinced it is arriving all day but agen nothing hey ho docs tomoro

got told my brain scan and heart monitor results were all clear today tho so thats good news

bebejones · 14/09/2010 18:02

Got about 10mins left to watch of 'Cherry', really enjoying it....damn DH for coming home early!! Wink

How amazing was the water birth? I thought it'd be older than 27, but I suppose the high rate of teenage pregancies in the UK bring the average down. I was referred to as being young & as girl Hmm when I had DD, I was 25. Will be 28 this year so assuming things go to plan that's how old I'll be when DC2 makes an appearance...unless it takes a couple of months to conceive! Although don't fancy giving birth on my birthday Confused

Still didn't manage to ring nurse, but will have to do it 2moro coz the drug delivery people rang to arrange next delivery Hmm, even though I told them I wasn't having anymore!

JBells - hope the GP can shed some light on things 2moro.

Only got the last little bit to watch now, watched most of the end while DH was bathing DD! Think the next one is about her getting married & not about babies though which is a bit disappointing! Wish they had stretched this one out a bit more!

Her blog is interesting too, here

brettgirl2 · 14/09/2010 20:28

Is 27 the average for having a first or for giving birth? I will be at least 34 for my 2nd (well unless I get pregnant in the next two months - rather unlikely atm!).

Although I don't intend to use contraception after my next period.....

jbells my period often 'brews' for up to 2 weeks - it is very annoying but it will eventually arrive. Speaking of which I have gone bloaty and PMT-like today, but I wo't be holding my breath for the next week and a half Hmm.

Bebe are you trying too hard to get dd to eat nice fresh veg? My daughter will eat any veg, as long as it has come from the freezer. Fresh - no chance! Grin. I think it is because the texture is slightly softer (or has the obvious advantage in the case of sweetcorn). Also fish fingers aren't really processed - they are just fish in breadcrumbs.

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 20:29

Just sat and watched it while I had my tea, it was amazing - such a lovely programme and so sensitively done. The water birth was indeed incredible, I don't know how I didn't start blubbing just watching that woman pick up her baby with that delighted expression on her face!

It hasn't done me any good of course, I just feel even more that I don't want to keep hanging around waiting. Ostensibly now all we're waiting for is to see how DH gets on in his new job, but I'm just like oh for heaven's sake, it'll be fine like every other job you've ever had, and if not, just get a different job!

Went to see the shark agent after work, but not entirely sure how that went. They are just sizing you up at these meetings to see whether you look passable, aren't they.

Bebe get on that phone first thing tomorrow! You're not getting cold feet are you?

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 20:31

Sorry Brettgirl I xposted with you then. No contraception after your next period? That's a bit kinky!

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 20:35

Supposed to be re-writing my CV but going to watch Special Deliveries part 2 instead!

brettgirl2 · 14/09/2010 20:52

lol, if I actually manage to have sex then perhaps. I'm not expecting to get pregnant in the near future!

bebejones · 14/09/2010 20:53

Brett - Given up really trying to get DD to eat veg! I'll put some peas/sweetcorn/carrots on with most meals, but don't really expect her to eat it! If we try & 'encourage' her to eat them it just ends up with her screaming! But hey, she is still alive & is (as far as I can tell) healthy!
Ditching the contraception, are you just going to see what happens or are you going to be full on SWIing?

AC - Did you feel gutted for her that she ended up with a CS after she had sort of changed her mind and done her birth plan? Amazing that the teenage mum gave birth with no drugs! Thought it was a fab programme. I got all teary when Cherry's OH was holding the newborn baby saying 'it's a little girl' The water birth was fantastic, just couldn't help but smile at how delighted the mum was! :)

Haven't got cold feet but genuinely keep forgetting until it is too late. It'll have to be lunchtime 2moro as it's toddler group in the morning!

Will watch special deliveries 2moro :) Hope it's not as traumatising as the last one, found it a bit intense!

OP posts:
bebejones · 14/09/2010 20:55

27 is average age for first baby btw Brett

OP posts:
brettgirl2 · 14/09/2010 21:00

What on earth is SWIing?

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 21:09

I don't know, I half expected it, as it seems to have gone that way for most people I know. It does make me wonder what on earth is the point in enduring the first bit?! So I guess I was pretty gutted to see yet another emergency CS.

Just finished watching Special Deliveries. One girl - another water birth - was properly screaming in what sounded like horrible agony pretty much throughout her labour, and it was really difficult to hear it all and watch her writhing around. It makes me think it would be awful to put DH through watching me give birth. Does that sound silly? Imagine not to be able to do anything to help. What a contrast to the water birth on Cherry has A Baby.

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 21:10

Brettgirl it is shagging with intent.

bebejones · 14/09/2010 21:19

AC - it is apparently better to labour before csection as it is less stressful for the baby as they are 'prepared' to be born rather than just being yanked out! Also the contractions/hormones help stimulate milk supply. This is what my friend who just had a planned section was told by her midwife, who was encouraging her to try & do things to bring on labour!

I want a water birth like the one on CHAB...except at MLU! I want to be all calm and serene and not screaming my head off! Hmm I can hope right?!

I think the labour part is worse for OHs to see than the birth part. The birth part you know something is happening & the end is in sight. But the labour bit goes on & on & you don't know what's going to happen when, or how long it's going to last, or how bad it's going to get. Does that make sense?

brettgirl2 · 14/09/2010 21:23

OK now I know Blush I really will see what happens (and that will only be if I get away with no more drugs for this blasted thrush more Blush which obviously doesn't help in general with the whole process).

I wouldn't watch too many births ahead of getting pregnant. I'm really quite glad that I was blissfully ignorant about the whole thing. And as for worrying about DH - they have it easy Grin I did get a bit addicted to them after giving birth though - DH has made me promise that I will stop watching them if we have another baby Hmm

Do you have a preference for a girl or a boy? I don't really mind as obviously health is most important, but deep down would love another little girl.

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 21:24

I'm absolutely certain you've told me before and I've rudely forgotten - but what was your birth like Bebe? How did your DH cope with it all?

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 21:26

Is anyone else tickled by the thread currently on Most Active called "Alone at the bus stop: too young at 7?"

I am quite certain that 7 is too young to be at a bus stop - unless it is for the June 2023 bus!

AmandaCooper · 14/09/2010 21:29

Brettgirl I would love a little boy - which TCOYF says is the easier sex to select by timing intercourse. Not really that bothered though, so I doubt I'd actually go so far as to halve my chances of ttc every month just to try for a boy.

Have already watched what must be well over a thousand hours of birth videos, so it's too late for me to be blissfully ignorant!
