Hi
Friday was a little difficult (if I'm going for understatement of the year) but life is looking a little better now.
So I got hold of rabbi but he didn't seem to know too much about it which was worrying me rather. So I called a helpline run in Israel who clarified a number of things and told me what questions I need to ask so they can determine my status after it (ie whether dh and I can have sex or even touch at all after it or if I have to wait effectively for next month).
So I left another message for the clinic to point out that if it didn't happen next month the way my cycle would fall out the only potential day to do this test on would be bank holiday which I assumed was no clinic. So she called back and said yes there was no space for me on monday (this one) and I couldn't have the thursday one she'd referred to because I'd be on day 16 of my cycle and that was too late so I'd have to wait till next month. So I pointed out the bank holiday problem and she said yes it would have to be on the 2nd. I pointed out that was the date of my next appointment. She said that's find we'll just move it and names 3 dates I can't do. When I pointed this out she suggested:
- I could go private (so I can pay for them to mess me around!!!)
- I could wait 2 months and there was nothing she could do to move me up waiting list.
I asked if slitting my wrists would move me up the waiting list and she said no (I kid you not). At this point I was really regretting making this call from work but had no other option and at least the person I share a room with was still out at lunch.
So she said she'd put me down for the 2nd and was that ok. At which point I was too overwrought at the idea of having to go through all this rubbish again next month to be able to talk so she put the phone down.
So I called dh when I could talk again without bursting into tears and he said he'd get the number of my very old GP (in his 80s) who is homeopathic and is just very reassuring to talk to (imagine proper old doctor type where everything is clear and most things can be solved by common sense - very reassuring).
While waiting for him to do this the hospital calls back and tells me they're moving someone else from MOnday to Thursday so after all that I will be having the thing this month and to start taking the antibiotics they've prescribed.
I still called my old GP and he managed to make me feel much better in about 3 minutes of saying that an ERPC could well have this effect and prescribed 2 pills to take morning and evening for 2-3 months.
So now I've got dh trying to find out who is the right rabbi to ask this question too and maybe it'll all come right at last.
Half way through this drama (if you're still reading) I got an email from one of the places I interviewed asking me back for another interview for a different position (which they had said might be a possibility) so at least that side is looking positive.
So here's hoping everything improves because I think I'm getting to the end of my tether on this (if you haven't yet worked out from my posts).
Thank you all for your hugs. They do help even though they're virtual.
Magic - I'm very glad to hear your news. I hope all goes well and I'm also dead jealous of you.
