Hello

Can I join? MC on Wednesday. First pg having been TTC for 7 years. Bit gutted.

Determined to go for IVF as soon as we are allowed to try again. Trying to look forwards not backwards. Just looking forward to being able to TTC again!

Hoping to get an initial appointment at the clinic for some time next week, just to discuss the next steps etc.

tigger15 · 01/08/2010 13:45

Hi Harriet sorry to see you on here. That sounds really hard. Are you already in a (in)fertility clinic? If so hopefully they can pass you through a bit faster than seems to be the general experience on here.

I really hope it works out for you soon.

Harriet75C · 01/08/2010 14:12

tigger not with a clinic yet - will have to go privately as NHS won't see me until I'm 35 and although that's not far off it's still a few months away and I'm not prepared to wait any more. So I'm hoping to be able to call tomorrow and see what kind of appointment they can offer me. I live in Berkshire but I work in London so hopefully one of the London clinics will be able to slot me in soonish!

Haven't had any fertility tests properly yet but I had a hysteroscopy for another reason last year and they looked at my ovaries at the same time and everything looked fine so I'm pretty sure me and DH just have unexplained infertility rather than an underlying cause.

tigger15 · 01/08/2010 15:02

Hi Harriet do you have any other condition you could get cross referred for? I'm well under 35 but have type 1 diabetes which causes all sorts of problems in pregnancy which is how I got moved (perhaps a bit too quickly) into the investigative route. Is there any chance you could use the other condition you had to speed things up?

The tests they've run on us so far are semen analysis, ovulation with blood tests and ultra sound throughout cycle and now finally hsg (tomorrow). After which I think we'll have exhausted everything and I will give up. (As in probably take a break for quite a while until I feel ready to try this again)

Magic8 bloody hell mate, how wonderful! congratulations!

Tigger honey, you've really been through the mill, thankfully you are sounding like you are getting there finally. I have no idea how you have managed to keep your patience! I hope you get some answers soon which can help put your mind at rest. Don't leave us though!

Moof how are you doing today honey, thinking of you x

Harriet welcome to the thread. Sorry for your loss, you sound very positive though which is good. Lots of lovely ladies on here full of advice and good ears for listening.

Shamefully,I've only just put stuff on my public page thingy (I didn't know it existed until I saw Magic's ignorance is bliss as they say) and have been posting here for the past year. Crikey, I didn't think it had been that long

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

barrenbrook · 01/08/2010 16:56

birthdoula sorry, in my hastiness to post I missed you, welcome, sorry you are here but you have come to the right place. I didn't wait either after my 2nd mc, I fell the following month but unfortunately mc again. Since been referred to consultant for recurrent mc and he recommended waiting a couple of months, 1 because of test results and 2 because my womb lining needed to sort itself out, it can apparently be a bit weak after mc. To be honest it's been quite nice not having to think about TTC for a couple of months so waiting does have it's benefits

sarahmia · 01/08/2010 17:18

hi all...

just wanted to pop on and say hello... have a scan tomorrow at 8.5 weeks. and am obviously pishing myself. am going alone tho as dont want it to be more dramatic then it has to be if its bad news.
moof Im so so sorry to read your news.

tbh i really miss this thread, i havent found another one that i like so much.

xxx

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 01/08/2010 18:04

harriet, welcome, and sorry you're here.

tigger it sounds like you've had a horrible time. hopefully things will start to look up.

sarahmia hope your scan goes well.

Well, all the haddock slapping wasn't enough. It is DS's birthday today, and after starting the day off annoyed (FIL forgot that it was his birthday!!!!), we've had a pretty nice day. Then OH went to play football with the boys and I sat around at home, a little bored and really needing to pee. So what do I do? Of course. What else. what do we think?

emptyshell · 01/08/2010 18:13

RTD is due tomorrow, had a nicely promising dip/rise in my temp chart on the right day but temps are beginning to drop off now anyway so I'm pretty sure I'm in for another collossal disappointment.

Oh did I mention my sister-in-law's now pregnant and considering the world revolves around her when she's even got a snuffle (and the woman could be ill for England), Christmas is now going to be eternal baby talk, doting over the mother to be and her bragging about how perfect her life is (she seriously even jumped in first to hijack the time we were planning on getting married)... oh and the baby I miscarried would have been due end of January so things will be especially raw by then... I'm not going near oh's family for the whole of Xmas - I don't give a stuff what they think of me over it - I'm protecting myself and if bridezilla as she was, who by now will be a full-blown mummy-to-bezilla wants to complain about it - she'll get a mouthful from me.

Basically having to relive in full pain level the miscarriage/infertility grief again - haven't gone out of the house apart from for essential appointments in over a week - because the bumps are out to get me.

Rant over, episode two will be tomorrow when Aunty Blob makes her delightful appearance.

northerngoldilocks · 01/08/2010 18:51

Wow Ivy - I think thats a BFP. Congrats!

Sarahmia - good luck for tomorrow, totally empathise with how nervous you are. I'm currently annoyed with DH for the fact that he doesn't seem to realise why I"m stressed and keeps asking me whats wrong - is it beyond the realms of possibility for him to work out, or has he been on a different planet since March!

Magic - wow!

Welcome to the newbies waterplate, Harriet and birthdoula, sorry you find yourselves here, but as others have said, people are lovely and supportive and I've found it a nice place to look more positively towards the future.

Updating the list as my BFP got missed off on a prev update, and having added myself once, I think I should continue to be positive!

OMG Magic how amazing! You must be in shock!

Harriet welcome, sorry you find yourself here, but it's definitely the best place to be under the circumstances

Am working out how early I can beg for a scan/pay for a private one, while getting maximum reassurance from it. I'm thinking 8 weeks would be ideal, but I want a scan sooner, dammit! 8 weeks is still almost 3 weeks away...

Am adding myself to grads list - figure I may as well enjoy it in case there's bad news later!

Wowsers! 8's I'm made up for you xx

Just a quickie as on phone but hi to everyone and all Newbies and I'll catch up soon x

empty sorry you're still going through exactly the same shit as last week and things have not improved.
It's been a very emotional week for this thread and it's good that we recognise that and are able to support each other. xx

Ivy looks like a BFP to me! Am quietly sending my congrats x

empty good to hear from you, been thinking about you wondering how you were. Sorry things are still crappy and you've had another kick in the teeth. These things are sent to test us. I don't know if it was on here I read it or someone said it to me when I was low but Mother Teresa once said, I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. I'm far from religious but it makes sense I think and made me smile. I hope it does the same for you x

VivClicquot · 01/08/2010 20:10

No, it's definitely a day out - both me and pv should be on day 4. Can't update as am on the iPhone but if someone could do the honours, that would be fab.

Hi to everyone, and a special hello to our lovely newbies. Am glad you've found us - this week has shown why this is the loveliest and one of the most supportive corners of MN.

tigger - sounds like things are moving in the right direction honey. Will keep things crossed you get some answers.

ivy - I'm posting this on my iPhone so haven't seen your pic but it sounds like it's very exciting!

empty - I'm also sorry you're still so low but maybe getting out and about would help? I found keeping a sense of normality helped with my grief, (although I know everyone is different) Have you also seen your GP and told him how low you're feeling?

sarahmia - lovely to hear from you. Will keep everything crossed for your scan hon.

Nothing to report here. Day 4. Boring boring boring. It's August though, and we conceived Gracie in August (sigh - can't believe it's been a year) so am hoping she might bring us some luck

Anyway, off to watch the amazing Sherlock. Love to all xxx

batteryhen · 01/08/2010 20:31

Hopefully this is correct - hairy have left you as you are - as presume you updated yourself?!

Quick wave from the hen coop - have worked out I should OV around sunday so have yet again booked my flights to germany....

Have also invested in some pre seed lube and as I refuse to carry that through customs (have had enough embarassment recently what with the nipple stroking and caught 'at it' on the sofa) have sent it out to DP at work. Have told him not to open it at work . I have also bought some cough medicine - as I seem to lack in the CM department so I hope this works tastes god awful though.

Ivy that looks like a damn good BFP to me!
empty - sorry you are feeling shite, but hope you are feeling some support from the lovely ladies on here.

I feel like this might be a good month for some BFPs this month. Come on ladies SWI!!!

Hello Peeps.

Ivy crossed posts yesterday and I did quickly post Congrats on stoopid phone before signal went, but it obviously had other ideas.
So.. Congrats again my dear.
at us knowing before DP.

Moo I'll be thinking of you today and sending lots of healing squishy vibes up your way.
Get some rest and be kind to yourself.
You know where we are when you need us xxx

Cheepz good luck at big girl new school today.
I hope you make lots of friends on you first day.
Take sweeties in and you'll be ver popular.

Tigger how are you doing?
Sorry you're having a tough time of it and things start to look brighter soon.

Mr.G and I are taking a few days off to sort the house out so we'll be spending most of our time between B&Q and
the tip and stripping walls and
painting!
I wanted to be constructive over the next few days as we
will need to get organized before we do have
something to bring home even though it's not going to be
this week as we planned in Nov.

I just tore a strip of paper off the landing wall
It wasn't on the to do list but I had to see how easy it came off.
Oooops.
So....
Paint kitchen, finish stripping hall & landing, rip carpet
in living room up, strip wall in living room and remove old
and install new fireplace in living room!

Oh and decorate living room then put new wood floor down.
Hmmmm... 2 days!?
If you see me on here, chase me!
We've also got the spare rooms to do but that can wait till next month.

Wish us luck!!
