So what did everyone have in their advent calendars today then?

I had a toy aeroplane in mine, and ds had a fireplace in his (ones with just a picture). Ds also has a Playmobil police one - he had a robber in that today.

As usual ds and I are having our advent calendar competition with our picture advent calendars. We have gueesed what will be in the windows each day. We get 2 points for the correct item on the correct day, and 1 point for an item that we guessed but on the wrong day.

So far it's SoMuch - 0 points, ds - 0 points!

I don't know what was in mine or ds' choc ones today. Ds woke me up in, what felt like, the middle of the night to tell me he'd eaten his choc and I kindly offered my one to my Godson because i had a hangover but he snaffled it so quickly I didn't see what it was!

Ds had a PM carol singer.

No 6 on the CM one wasn't filled until about 4pm because of hangover then had a message to make something Christmassy - which meant me doing it instead of ds because he was tired after getting up in the middle of the night to eat his chocs!!!

belgo · 07/12/2009 12:42

StAnne - already a baby jesus? He's not been born yet.

We got the mummy deer.

StAnne · 07/12/2009 12:59

Cheap advent Probably made in China & don't quite get it!
Children's Nativity advent from Phoenix cards a lot better.

SoMuchToBits · 07/12/2009 13:02

We had a book (mine) and a snowy scene (ds's). Still ds 3, SoMuch 0

In the Playmobil one we had a police radio, and there should have been a gun, but it has disappeared into another compartment of the advent calendar, so we will probably find it on the 17th (the door for the 17th is directly below the 7th).

Lol at the premature baby Jesus!

Today, DS had four robins in a tree (Quentin Blake calendar) and I had a dove with an olive spray in its gob. I don't know what DH had in his TACKY choccy calendar, because he opens it when DS isn't around! Pah.

SoMuchToBits · 08/12/2009 18:17

Today I had a bicycle and ds had a candle. Another point to ds

The playmobil calendar had a police dog with lead.

Today's cat in the Cats Protection calendar is Eenie (ginger and white)

nappyaddict · 09/12/2009 11:20

DS got a note telling him to get ready for his christmas play

SoMuchToBits · 09/12/2009 14:20

Today I had a cake, although it didn't look like a Christmas cake, more of a birthday cake (it had lots of candles on it - perhaps it was supposed to be for Jesus?). Ds had a snowman. It's now ds 5 points, SoMuch 0 points.

In the Playmobil calendar was a truncheon and a pair of handcuffs.

Playmobil again - a little animal with a stripey tail - very sweet! Can anyone identify it for me?

I'm putting up the Christmas decorations today including the Christmas playmobil -snowmen, Father Christmas and his helpers, Mrs Christmas and Reindeer and sleigh. And the nativity playmobil.

Not that I'm a playmobil fan or anything

SoMuchToBits · 10/12/2009 23:01

Today we had an ice cream in a dish (me) and a teddy (ds). One more point to ds then.

And i the Playmo calendar we had a set of street lamps.

I'm sure you're not a Playmo addict belgo

Today we have a Teacher from nativity play and three shepherds. Ds hasn't seemed to care that there isn't any chocolate going

SnowMuchToBits · 11/12/2009 10:03

Today I had a radio and ds had a snowy scene.

The Playmobil police calendar contained a mugshot of the robber.

belgo · 11/12/2009 15:39

that police playmobil sounds fantastic!

SnowMuchToBits · 11/12/2009 19:34

Oh, yes belgo! It's wonderful, and ds loves it! Last couple of years we had a Lego City one which he liked, but Playmobil didn't do one those years in the kind of theme he liked (he doesn't go for knights, pirates etc but likes emergency services, transport etc).

The Playmobil pieces from it will get played with a lot!

I gather you are a bit of a Christmas fan like me

belgo · 12/12/2009 07:34

oh yes, playmobil and Christmas are a great combination. I'm sure I'll be embarrassing my children in ten years time when I'm still buying them playmobil advent calenders even though they will be teenagers!

belgo · 12/12/2009 07:35

Nearly forgot, today we got a swine, hope it won't give us all the 'flu!

StAnne · 12/12/2009 10:35

Morning, We had a litle boy with a lamp and three kings on the other. Going to try & make a ginger bread house today wish me luck. xx

belgo · 12/12/2009 13:53

good luck with the ginger bread house!

SnowMuchToBits · 12/12/2009 14:04

Today we had a pair of roller skates (me) and a hat, scarf and gloves (ds). Ds had guessed scarf, so he gets another point. Strangely enough, I hadn't gueesed roller skates

The Playmobil calendar contained a bicycle for the robber to escape on. The police scene at the moment looks like this:- there is a police man standing in the middle of the road, heavily armed with a truncheon, gun, radio and pair of handcuffs. The bike is parked up against a house, and the robber is leaning out of the window of said house, clutching two cases. The police man is looking in the other direction, so hasn't noticed him. Meanwhile, the police dog looks as if it's relieving itself up against a potted plant... although I could be wrong.

Ds is 9 now, so I'm hoping we might still have a few more years of Playmo calendars. He's certainly still heavily into Playmobil at the moment.

belgo · 12/12/2009 14:18

How did he guess the scarf? Do you think he peeked?

SnowMuchToBits · 12/12/2009 22:49

I don't think so - he hadn't guessed it for today, for a different day. I think he chose it as it was an item of winter clothing!

I still haven't got a single point, seeing as I have guessed things like angel, holly, bell, Christmas tree etc and keep getting things like paintbrushes, roller skates and books.....

MollieO · 12/12/2009 22:54

We have the Playmobil police calendar. I had wanted something more Christmassy but is an absolute hit with ds (5). So much so that he wants the police station and police car for Christmas.

SnowMuchToBits · 13/12/2009 21:23

I also thought the Playmo police calendar wasn't very Christmassy, but my ds is similarly impressed. He has quite a lot of police Playmobil, but not the police headquarters. However, he soon will have it, as my Mu has very kindly bought it for him for Christmas

Today we had a clown-style hat and rather strange looking mask with a long nose (a la Pinocchio) (mine) and a Christmas cake (ds's)

And a blue wheelie bin in the Playmo calendar. (So the robber can hide his loot, I guess).
