I had a toy aeroplane in mine, and ds had a fireplace in his (ones with just a picture). Ds also has a Playmobil police one - he had a robber in that today.

As usual ds and I are having our advent calendar competition with our picture advent calendars. We have gueesed what will be in the windows each day. We get 2 points for the correct item on the correct day, and 1 point for an item that we guessed but on the wrong day.

So far it's SoMuch - 0 points, ds - 0 points!

bird food and birds here too for ds1

choc robin for ds2

ohdearwhathappened · 03/12/2009 20:48

this has just reminded me we have completely forgotten the advent calendar this year

nickytwotimes · 03/12/2009 20:51

I am of the playmobil ones.

Ds will be getting one next year, I think.

TOday, ds had a cow and a donkey looking at the baby Jesus. Ds was very concerned hs Mummy wasn't there, bless him.

belgo · 04/12/2009 07:53

A stall for animal food today, and grass and hay, both with two holes in them, and I can't really work out how they go with the stall?

Starbear · 04/12/2009 10:59

Tears today as Ds was convinced he has to open 4th & 5th ARRRGh! It suppose to make them happy.
So we have a Crown on one (5th still intact.) A little boy shepherd for the 4th.
5th two kids singing.

BloodRedTulips · 04/12/2009 11:42

dd - a tree with flowers
ds1 - a blue bow with a lid

poor ds1 is getting a raw deal from his playmobil poor thing, so far he has an angel, a desk, a plate with biscuits and a blue box whereas dd has a parrot in a cage and a flower bed with a tree!

SoMuchToBits · 04/12/2009 12:46

Today we had a set of building bricks (me) and a rooftop with tree (ds). Still 1-0 to ds.

Playmobil one had an axe and a torch. The robber now appears to be walking around with two cases and a grappling hook....

ds & dd got a chocolate in the shape of an xmas pudding in theirs today , & the picture was a fireplace ...

belgo · 05/12/2009 07:46

A baby deer and what I think must be a growth of woodland fungi but looks suspiciously like a pile of deer poo. Not that I4m an expert on deer poo of course.

SoMuchToBits · 05/12/2009 23:13

lol at the deer poo!

We had a scooter (me) and a candy cane (ds), so now it's Mummy 0 points, ds 2.

And in the Playmobil police calendar we had a pile of coins, some of which escaped from the compartment into the one below (so we will have to wait until the 14th to retrieve them).

at deer poo - we were all a bit baffled and had to get the box out to work out what to do with that one

florenceuk · 05/12/2009 23:33

Yes DD is very pleased with the deer, but has put the birds around the poo stuff . DS got a little stand thingy which he tells me is to hold ice skates???

Chamomile · 05/12/2009 23:33

We have 3 playmobil ones set up next to each other. We had the deer and the deer poo, too.
Does anyone else love adding little things to the scenes overnight?
Today a parrot mysteriously appeared on a treetop in the park scene and there is a baby dinosaur in the forest scene.
I don't know who enjoys them most, me or the DC.

SoMuchToBits · 05/12/2009 23:41

Lol, yes, today the robber got squashed by a giant satsuma from the fruit bowl! (Well it was giant compared to the size of the robber).

OP posts:
belgo · 06/12/2009 07:02

good idea to add things overnight to the playmobil scene!

We got the mother deer (or is it the father with the antlers?) today but it's has been over shadowed by the arrival of the gifts from Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas), or the Sint as the older children call him, trying to sound grown up.

BloodRedTulips · 06/12/2009 12:52

awww belgo, i miss Sinterklaas.

dp has vetoed me letting the kids have little gifts from him each year

belgo · 06/12/2009 14:09

How can your dp veto you giving the children presents? It's not YOU who gives the presents, it's Sinterklaas!

sanfairyann · 06/12/2009 15:30

lol - we have a giant pink my little pony plus accessories tormenting the deer at the moment

BloodRedTulips · 06/12/2009 16:41

he claims it would be too confusing for them to have Sinterklass and Santy and that they don't need two lots of presents despite me pointing out i only want to give them a token gift each from Sinterklass.

It never confused me though and it would have been nice to keep the tradition going as i would like them to know some of their dutch heritage but if he's going to make faces and not make it believable it would just be a disaster.

In retaliation i've vetoed the dreaded christmas turkey and have told him it'll never be cooked in this house

belgo · 06/12/2009 16:45

what do you have instead of turkey?

BloodRedTulips · 06/12/2009 16:59

duck the two year i cooked, my parents have done venison, pheasant, wild duck in recent years and are back to venison this year.

next year if i feel brave enough to cook again i'll attempt a goose.

can't stand turkey

SoMuchToBits · 06/12/2009 17:38

We're having chicken.

In the advent calendars today were a pair of goofy slippers (me) and a Christmas pudding (ds). It's now ds - 3 points, SoMuch - 0 points.

And in the Playmobil one we had a Playmo police man. Who has promptly put the robber in jail!

Nothing in our advent calendar - we've got a dud one (I'm guessing it is anyway) from paperchase and all the windows are blank. However DD loves drawing her own pitcure to go in each one every day!

After reading about lego and playmobil ones on MN I now feel like a totally inadequate mother.. but mine are still too young (DS would eat all the playmobil. He eats anything).

SleightiesChick · 06/12/2009 22:28

I have a Cats Protection one so unsurprisingly it's been a cat every day. You do have some suspense in wondering whether it'll be one cat or a pair though. So far it's been single cats except for on the 4th. Today's cat was 'Big Red'.

I've got a goodgifts one on the way too which'll have worthy things behind each window. My DS is too young to demand chocolate other varieties of calendar yet so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Katymac · 06/12/2009 22:39

DD got 6 chocolates & 6 forfeits (as I forgot to get the calender out of the attic until today )

She is 12........ & has kept asking why the Christmas Fairy hadn't been
