So what did everyone have in their advent calendars today then?

I had a toy aeroplane in mine, and ds had a fireplace in his (ones with just a picture). Ds also has a Playmobil police one - he had a robber in that today.

As usual ds and I are having our advent calendar competition with our picture advent calendars. We have gueesed what will be in the windows each day. We get 2 points for the correct item on the correct day, and 1 point for an item that we guessed but on the wrong day.

So far it's SoMuch - 0 points, ds - 0 points!

Ewe, yes - they are Dairy Milk ones, I think!

It was a robin today. which prompted DS to burst into song - Rockin Robin, with his MJ moves!

foxinsocks · 02/12/2009 09:15

dd got what looked like a stand with a map on it (she's got the lego pirate one). ds was still asleep when I left so don't know (he's got the lego city one).

didn't realise people got so excited about advent calendars

SoMuchToBits · 02/12/2009 12:57

Today we had pencils and paintbrushes (mine) and tennis rackets and a ball (ds). Still 0 points each.

And in the Playmobil police one - a black case and a grappling hook with rope. The robber is already causing havoc with it!

A picture of a Christmas tree.

DS howled for the calendar however. Picked some glitter off, frowned at Santa (hates him thanks to various scary animatronic ones we've seen shopping) and opened the door for the 10th

MintyCandyCane · 02/12/2009 13:24

another tree

Cicatrice · 02/12/2009 13:39

Chocolate.

Sagacious · 02/12/2009 13:49

A bbq (to go with yesterdays random man with the drumstick)

Not exactly festive

MisSalToeKisses · 02/12/2009 13:57

(catching up with yesterday) - Kingfisher yesterday

An ice skating boy today

doubleexpresso · 02/12/2009 14:02

Ant and Dec It was a lovely surprise... Can't wait until tomorrow.

florenceuk · 02/12/2009 14:02

Only put the playmobil one together last night so DD got to open two boxes - one green tree, one lot of branches. DS has lego city and so far has had two little figures (I think today's was a snowman?)

AdoraBelleDearHeart · 02/12/2009 14:20

floreceuk - I think we have the same advent calender - I finally spent two hours putting the thing together this morning, and dd1 got the tre; dd2 got the branches. They have to share it!

mogs0 · 02/12/2009 15:31

Yesterday - ds had ........ we don't know because he ate it so fast. I had a cracker.

Today - can't remember what ds had because I was too busy looking at my own Robin to listen properly to what he was telling me .

The Playmobil one finally arrived today so I've been putting it all together and when ds gets home from school he'll get a person in No1 and 3 bits of fence in No2.

We've also got a wooden one to share with the CM children that has little notes in it and todays note said to write a letter to FC.

nickytwotimes · 02/12/2009 15:33

Ds got a picture of 'the mimmy of the baby Jesus' today. Very sweet when he said it.

He doesn't know you get ones with chocolate in them yet.

florenceuk · 02/12/2009 15:41

Adorabelle, it says it is meant to take 15 minutes! Hard to believe. I suspect DD might be slightly disappointed with some of the boxes having seen what goes in them, but overall it's a winner.

The Lego one is much more straightforward, everything is already in a little box and you just assemble the little person when you open it. DS and DD are at the stage where they can't share anything at all so I had to buy two

merryberry · 02/12/2009 16:07

stale air. we've got one of those fill it yourself drawer things given by someone a few years back. and i've "forgotten" it again. will plunder this thread for ideas, but only in the last week i think.

belgo · 03/12/2009 08:35

Two little birds today eating bird food. My girls were very impressed.

BloodRedTulips · 03/12/2009 10:20

dd got a flower bed and ds1 got a plates with biscuits on it.

both playmobil

MintyCandyCane · 03/12/2009 10:29

once we had recovered them from the bottom of the sodding box

two birds and some bird food

VictorHugo · 03/12/2009 10:31

well after yesterday's travesty of a DESK we had a parrot on a perch. Ds was marginally placated. We are due another person tomorrow...thank Goodness

Starbear · 03/12/2009 11:07

I'm going to jump in here. Sorry, I missed two days. We have the cut out stage Advent & a traditional Boy with a triangle and donkey looking over the baby. We are resisting chocolate ones (yes, I'm am a meany)

Bleatblurt · 03/12/2009 12:32

Same as Minty and belgo but only one bird.

I fear it has flown into the slot beneath. Grrr.

mogs0 · 03/12/2009 14:16

Ds - choc Robin
Me - choc Christmas tree
PM - a lamb
Shared CM one - snowflakes that expand to 600 times their original size when dunked in water for 10 days! Mindee1 wasn't overly impressed but ds, mindee2 and I were and keep checking to see if they've grown yet!

SoMuchToBits · 03/12/2009 16:48

Hi Starbear, don't worry about being a couple of days late! If I remember, you were a regular contributor on the advent calendar thread last year, right up to Christmas Eve.

Today we had a blue piggy bank (me) and a window with holly (ds). So it's now ds 1 point, SoMuch 0 points.

The Playmobil police one yielded a grey case and a jemmy!

Ds got a sled for his man. DD two birds and a nest (I think a number of us have this Playmobil one). Both very chuffed!

belgo · 03/12/2009 17:35

it's not a nest it's bird food and you can can put the two birds on it and hang it on the tree's branches - it is very sweet
