Just a warning regarding all these super cheap clothes offers on Amazon:

Most seem to be scams where companies are getting payment for goods they have no intention of sending, then they only give a partial refund. Or it is companies who are using ‘sales’ to generate fake reviews rather than actually providing the goods.

Sometimes these offers are genuine, but I would urge caution.

do you love local to your mum? Having looked through the last year calendar I would say you’d likely have 4/5 things she wasn’t fussy for… so could you perhaps buy her 24 food gifts you know she likes and wrap them in tissue and present them in a Christmas bag instead? Just buy them when you’re doing your weekly shop for the next few weeks? Then she gets 24 things she likes.

Oh that is a good idea, thanks!

Looking for recommendations for a record player? My teenage daughter has added one to her list, I have no idea where to start.

Ideally one she can play normally but also connect to wireless headphones?

They can vary a lot in price depending on whether they have speakers or not. Speakers are really for the audio nerdy types.

My daughter has had one for several years that came from Clas Olshen. It looks like the hi fi systems we had in the 80s and 90s. The current fashion seems to be to make them look like the record players that came in cases that you see in pictures of the 1960s. I've seen both kinds in Robert Dyas for around £80. I saw one in Flying Tiger as well recently.

Oh and by the way I am reliably informed by my adult children that they are Vinyl Players. Record Player is so last year.....😊

Sorry bit late to this thread...for the person looking for bath toys we have had foam faces off amazon which were great.

These...https://amzn.eu/d/0cxDnk2d

These...https://thekidcollective.co.uk/products/glo-pals-light-up-cubes?srsltid=AYCX9vLkcYpFFLAudqLVaL2FdJaTuLQxcouqwCEIPYlz3cnQCXDeLJTb

And the hooded owls potion kits are amazing.

What age would you reckon these are good for?

I've used the footballsbest4u site for replica football shirts before and was impressed.

However, I'm now needing a replica rugby shirt for my niece. Anyone seen a rugby equivalent to footballsbest4u?

Oooh, now I'd be interested in that! I've also used Football4U & been happy, so a rugby one would be great, they're SO expensive.

Notlongnow1 · Today 09:16

@qwerty21 I was going to advise capitalising extra but just tested and don't think offer is still running.
They do seem to have deals regularly though so worth keeping an eye out for the next.

It might be valid on some things. I did a large order & some items the code didn't work on (perhaps more recent stock), so I replaced those with other items that did apply the discount. Worth a try.

I started reading the kids my new Harry Potter book last night - it is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't wait until Christmas 😆

I previously posted about a shoebox gift donation thing I'm doing - have decided to go with the 10-14 age range as it's the least popular one. I can't add anything with liquid/gels etc, any food, or any war related items etc. I'm stuck for ideas apart from some nice pens and stationery.

If it’s a girl maybe a pretty hair brush and bobbles or clips, pretty socks, can you put things like stick lipglosses, maybe a handbag mirror, one of those fold up brush / mirror things ? Even little plastic ornament type things like a heart or flower - sort of small dressing table type things ?

My daughter is 7 nearly 8 she still plays with the hooded owls set.

Our foam faces and little sticky men eventually went mouldy so we dont have them anymore but she would still play with them I think.

The little light up cubes are great for a fun bath. The holders have moveable arms and legs if I remember rightly.

When my card was cloned, the bank fraud department told me that Amazon itself doesn’t process all payments- and this is a way in which your bank details can be obtained by third parties. I should have asked more questions about this as I don’t really understand it completely, but at the time I was more shocked at the spending they were racking up and was on the back foot a little.

I hadn’t used my card in any shops at around the time it was cloned, and it was always in my possession. There’s no way of knowing where the details were taken from, but it’s made me wary of these super bargains since.

For hot chocolate which we use in Velvetiser I always buy from Pendragons - never had an offer but the flakes are lovely £16:99 a 1kg bag and they do 5kg box of 5 x 1 kg packs -postage reasonable considering and we prefer to Hotel Chocolat

Went there this weekend and treated us. Their chocolate bars are lovely too xx

🎄 disney store have 20% off with no minimum spend. Their bath toy sets in the buckets are amazing. The toys are lovely and big. They have no holes too so can't go mouldy. My kids age almost 3 and almost 7 both play with the princesses still!

I've just had a look, & £55 for a replica shirt is expensive. I got DS2 an official, present season training top for that cost last year from a sport shop. Think I'll stick with that idea this year, the training tops can be nicer designs too.

There are a few unusual tops there for a decent price, for training something like an older Samoa or Italy official top might be okay.

Thanks.

For boys/ gender neutral:

A squishy
A fidget
A bouncy ball
Rubik's cube type puzzle (cheaper one?)
Dobble
Uno
Keyring
Funky notebook
Those little men that stick to a window & flip down
Wind-up funny teeth
A little box that tweets like a bird
Lego figure/similar
Hotwheels car
Finger skateboard (e.g Techdeck)
Magnets
Tub of Playdough

All things my 3 big boys all loved & will still play with if little cousins are around & I get them out.

Puffalicious · Today 10:00

Oh, and a pack of cards & a small comic/joke book/graphic novel.

Whoevenknowswhatisgoingon · Today 10:01

Which bath foam faces do people recommend? I reckon my 3 year old would love these!

ChristmasMad1 · Today 10:02

A bit random, but does anyone know the best supermarket/online groceries which is the best first shop/signup deal? Looking to get a bunch of food for the food bank and would appreciate a bigger discount as on a small budget, so can get more food.

Such a shame I just missed out on the Asda one the other day

Ah! apologies for that @Puffalicious, just saw a couple of the headline prices! 🙈
