This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:
To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’
You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

Oh gosh, I didn't look far into the website at all. I now see what you mean 🫣. Ex-DH would be mortifed, he's just not that kind of guy. Fingers 🤞 it's not a pile of rubbish they get.

I'd get your wx DH to consider cancelling tbh. It's definitely a scam and you can tell when they take the mini torch out of the advent calendar that there's nothing behind some of the other doors. I don't know how old your kids are but it could be very disappointing for them as it's being described as stuff you would get in cheap christmas crackers. Sixty odd quid is a lot of money. Hopefully he paid by credit card or PayPal.

Focussingonme · Today 06:44

I got the free shea Body Shop code to work and although had an old account, I wasn't in the love your body club which after one click to sign up gave me 20% off site wide. Thanks for the tip!!

I spent over £35 as picked up one of the gift sets for my DD (paid £20 instead of £25) and a charcoal face mask for me (£16 instead of £20) so qualified for free delivery.

I found a review saying likewise & have sent him it. I'll check how he paid. Kids are 22 & almost 20, so no big drama there - they're all outdoorsy so I get why he thought this would be a good idea.

He is very compulsive with purchases. For a highly regarded professional he's still a bit of a numpty sometimes🫣

How annoying. I have never had a grocery account with them before and annoyed I registered now.

Same. I never use Asda!

Focussingonme · Today 07:32

I think I need to do a bit of a present review before I buy anymore now. I have been stashing things away all year for 2 children's birthdays and Christmas which all come close together and I've now not got a clear idea of what I've got overall. I've spent a small fortune on these bargain threads too! Thank you @reastie 😂 I have things in the loft, under bed and in cupboards! __

Thanks for the body shop tip - gutted I missed the free delivery but ordered anyway alongside some gift boxes which I’ll use for wax melt hampers for a couple of family members.

🎄If anyone is looking for a gift for a book lover these blind date with a book are absolutely stunning - you can choose a genre and it comes with extras like bookmark, a hot drink, biscuit etc! Currently £10 but when you go to basket it takes 10% off and free delivery! I’ve ordered one myself as a little treat for me to try and wind my mind down and relax a bit - dad is currently in ICU so my brain is very stressed! The company is a small buisness but I’ve already placed three orders in the last few days. The wax melts look absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful mugs too.

Book lover gift

This is such a great idea, but I’m sceptical of the website. Lots of AI, no reviews and a Facebook page that was only created 4 days ago. Have any of your orders arrived? I hope it’s legit as it’s a lovely gift idea.

Oh gosh, I hope not I ordered a few. I have used PayPal tho so hopefully if any issues I’ll get a refund.

Someone recommended a present app called Gift List to keep track of things.

BodyBoarder · Today 08:21

I started reading the kids my new Harry Potter book last night - it is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't wait until Christmas 😆

I previously posted about a shoebox gift donation thing I'm doing - have decided to go with the 10-14 age range as it's the least popular one. I can't add anything with liquid/gels etc, any food, or any war related items etc. I'm stuck for ideas apart from some nice pens and stationery.

PurpleSock · Today 08:30

Thank you for the bath toy recommendations! Barista set was £15 on Argos and the foam faces look great so have ordered both of those 😁

They haven’t as I’ve only ordered on the weekend. She sells her items on whatnot and has loads of reviews on there, that’s actually how I come across her 😊

thanks for the head up

hugsandpugs · Today 08:42

It is genuine she has a what not sellers page too. I actually watched her stream on the weekend. She’s absolutely lovely 😊💕

I had trouble getting the Degusta calendar delivered in NI last year. Two went missing, it was an EVRI issue really, they were ditching parcels rather than deliver to rural locations but neither Degusta or groupon were helpful even when it was well into December and I had to really push to get a refund (rather than groupon credit). They also charge £5 delivery to NI while GB is free. BUT I am considering giving it another go because I do think my mum would enjoy it.

Edited

do you love local to your mum? Having looked through the last year calendar I would say you’d likely have 4/5 things she wasn’t fussy for… so could you perhaps buy her 24 food gifts you know she likes and wrap them in tissue and present them in a Christmas bag instead? Just buy them when you’re doing your weekly shop for the next few weeks? Then she gets 24 things she likes.

IlovePond · Today 08:45

@BodyBoarder - comb/hairbrush, scarf, gloves, (depending where in the world your box is going), small fold up crossbody bag, cute keyring, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste- if allowed - tissues, solid shampoo bar, soap.

If you know the sex of the recipient, then if it’s a girl: emery boards, hair ties, period pants in a couple of sizes.

DrLeoSpaceman · Today 08:51

I've used the footballsbest4u site for replica football shirts before and was impressed.

However, I'm now needing a replica rugby shirt for my niece. Anyone seen a rugby equivalent to footballsbest4u?

Serenitesanta · Yesterday 23:59

Thanks very much.
I think I’ll give it a go, where are you ordering from if you decide to?
Everi last year was horrendous

I think I will brave Groupon again as £4 cheaper than Degusta which almost covers the postage.

Thanks. Is it only a one use code?

superstar63 · Today 09:03

@snoopinginstlye @Serg I bought a couple of different jackets like this and also the £3.48 jeans and they all got cancelled. I saw somewhere that it is a way of getting your details although the jackets were never charged for and the jeans were refunded so only the jeans people got my credit card details i assume.
