What’s on your list (if you’re a woman who actually wants stuff)

If you’re the type of woman says “all I want for Christmas is a hug from my children and a single Ferrero Rocher” then that’s absolutely lovely but not what I’m asking. I need ideas for stuff for myself, lovely things I may not have come across, to put on my Christmas list!!

So far I have a voucher for a Margaret Dabbs medical pedicure
A new casserole dish, Le Creuset style
The secret of cooking by Bee Wilson
A little zip up thing to put in my handbag with my essentials

I’d love some really nice knitwear also.
What sort of lovely things are on your lists?

A full car valet. Every year. Best present ever.

pennyforthoughtsx · 22/10/2026 11:50

Ugg tazz are on my list every year, a new perfume, skin care (more expensive brands than what I’d get myself!) and then the boring stuff like candles, clothes.

I’ve been cheeky and asked for a solo spa day/night as I’m pregnant and home with an almost 2 year old everyday so I need it!!

ValleyofHumiliation · 22/10/2026 11:50

Nice linen tea towels
Penhaligon candle
Shearling lined slippers

DeftGoldHedgehog · 22/10/2026 11:53

Always happy with interesting books, food or wine.

Rainbow1901 · 22/10/2026 11:55

After following the Christmas Bargains threads - I really want a seed calendar!! New slippers are always good and lots of Moisturising creams for decrepit growing old gracefully skin! A years' supply is always handy!! A new woolly or two is lovely too!!
A want to have (but no chance of) cruise would be lovely too!

Some books.
Lego/other brick brands.
Box of After Eights that are for me only and no one else is allowed to even sniff.
Maybe a HMV voucher to go towards one of their t-shirts.

I've asked for:

  • vouchers for self-care appointments like massage, facials, nails
  • an Evolve journal/planner
  • a diamond roller knife sharpener
  • some really good waterproof gardening gloves
  • nice heirloom veg seeds from She grows veg

I'm always happy to receive:

  • earrings
  • books
  • jumpers
dicentra365 · 22/10/2026 12:12

I have quite a long book list, so probably something from that. Some of those M&S Italian Chocolates (this probably won't happen, so I will go and get them myself). Some stationery from:
Libraries and Archives Paper Company
Maybe a piece of silver jewellery from here, loads of choice and reasonably priced:
All Jewellery. – Smithsonia
I think I will definitely get a couple of books and some chocolate, probably end up with shower gel too, the rest is more questionable.

i manage my urge to spend frivolously by maintaining a John Lewis wish list across the year. Then I share it with my DH who can use it to assist others’ gift queries. DH usually chooses a couple of things of the list and gets a couple of spontaneous gifts.

At the moment I’ve got extra large coffee mugs, fancy wine glasses, perfume, earrings, a jumper and a pair of trainers on the list.

Kitchenbattle · 22/10/2026 12:14

We agreed a generous budget each and chose what we wanted. I'm getting a F&M hamper.

WhatNowHmm · 22/10/2026 12:57

I'm easily pleased but i like things to open.

I'm separated so it's really just my young adult boys. I have on my list:

A book pouch
A plant
Some nice bar soap
A new origami figure for my collection
New watch strap for my smart watch

MrsAvocet · 22/10/2026 12:57

I've asked DH to get me some new cycling kit. I don't "need" it as I have loads already so I haven't bought it for myself, but there's a specific design that I really like which would make a very nice Christmas present. I am also approaching needing some new walking boots so my adult DC have said they'll club together for those but I'll wait until January in the hope of getting a bargain!

DrLeoSpaceman · 22/10/2026 13:14

I'm running low on perfume and fancy trying something new, so I plan to have a mooch in Diptyque and John Lewis when I go Christmas shopping to try a few out.

So - perfume, and possibly a matching body/hand lotion if available.

Larry David's autobiography.

New pyjamas, bath salts, and fancy bubble bath. I get these three every Christmas, birthday and mother's day and I always look forward to receiving them.

ThatLilacTiger · 22/10/2026 13:29

I'm not getting anything because we're horribly broke but I fantasise about a world in which I get the Sephora advent calendar, a David Austen rose and some gardening tools and books, a lovely cast iron casserole dish and nice slippers.

JustOneMoreMargarita · 22/10/2026 13:37

on my list

Laptop bag (mine is falling apart)
Some cosy slippers
Elemis skin care
Lego
Trainers
Necklaces

HolidayHappy123 · 22/10/2026 13:44

Van Cleef bracelet. But I’m not due a big present this Christmas as my birthday present was a big one.

Anonomoso · 22/10/2026 13:44

I like garden centre vouchers, both specific to a particular one and national.

As many garden centre's now sell so much more than just plants a voucher, for me, makes a perfect gift, even if I just end up browsing and finishing with a coffee and slice of cake.

ffsgloria · 22/10/2026 13:45

Ninja blend boss tumbler blender
