What’s on your list (if you’re a woman who actually wants stuff)

If you’re the type of woman says “all I want for Christmas is a hug from my children and a single Ferrero Rocher” then that’s absolutely lovely but not what I’m asking. I need ideas for stuff for myself, lovely things I may not have come across, to put on my Christmas list!!

So far I have a voucher for a Margaret Dabbs medical pedicure
A new casserole dish, Le Creuset style
The secret of cooking by Bee Wilson
A little zip up thing to put in my handbag with my essentials

I’d love some really nice knitwear also.
What sort of lovely things are on your lists?

My Lanx trainers (Cheadle) have been pretty poor though - first pair arrived with loads of creases in them, replacement pair was the same so they went back too, and finally third time lucky after many emails with customer services. And it all took about 2 months. The new pair creased really easily and I've not been happy with them. Ugh. It's a
shame because the boots are great. It's put
me off buying from them again though.

That really is a shame. I have 4 osirs of lanx. Dh has 3. Both my sons and their gf's have Lanx as well and we've never had a bad pair.
I wear mine pretty much non stop for 3 seasons each year.

My list includes Georgio Amani foundation and primer from ds1
Im still working on my list!!

Im definitely not 'a hug will do' mum!

I’ve asked for a ninja creamy and new tits, got high hopes for the ninja creamy but think I might be whistling for the tits🤣

Squirrelblanket · 23/10/2026 09:40

I'm thinking either a learn German language kit of some sort or a Thai cookery course.

Shufflebumnessie · 23/10/2026 10:01

I'd be thrilled with one of the following:

Pair of Penelope Chilvers sandals.
Neck/shoulder warmer (to help with migraine symptoms).
Pair of earrings I've seen but are currently out of stock (hoping they'll get more in).
Box of Guylian seashells.
Box of Whitakers coffee creams.

Can’t remember the exact name but the Lush showergel that smells like sticky toffee pudding (date something)
Most of the contents of an amazing gift/jewellery shop down at the harbour!
Tickets for Paddington The Musical
Voucher for a hotel spa day
Fortnum & Mason Enchanted Forest chocolates
0% Christmas pud liqueur ( want that well b4 the big day)
Charbonel et Walker chocolate flakes
Diary
Snowglobe ( again b4 the big day)

Oh my goodness @MarmaladeSandwich7I looked at Paddington tickets last night as a treat for one of my granddaughters, they were £260 each(matinee, she’s 5) and we’d need 3, then travel and lunch plus programme and a bear, it will be £1k for a day out!

erihskreb · 23/10/2026 10:36

I’m struggling for ideas as I’m due with DC1 shortly after Christmas and have no idea what I’ll realistically be able to use (guessing long luxurious baths and board games are off the table for quite a while! And obviously clothing is difficult size-wise).

So far my ideas are a puzzle, books and snacks/chocolate but does anyone have any ideas for things you still enjoyed with a newborn (that are a present for you and not the baby)? I’ve already got a Stanley cup, contigo insulated travel mug, and nice dressing gown so don’t need those.

Iloveshihtzus · 23/10/2026 10:41

I’m asking for a sage bambino coffee machine for my new kitchen. I’ve had Nespresso now for years but fancy a proper machine for my WFH days and weekends.

thanks to this thread I am now getting DH a full car valet as his present (he is hard to buy for as he always buys himself any new tech that he really wants).

Uniqlo jersey barrel trousers in navy
Tarte CC undereye corrector
A Ceanothus bush (Californian Lilac) - they have loads of beautiful little blue pom pom like flowers
Decent 85% dark chocolate
A dishwasher!

Hopefully there will be some offers - I have certainly seen them for a lot less than that

CautiousOptimist · 23/10/2026 11:20

I love theatre tickets but tend to buy them for myself and invite the children!
I will ask for a bread course this year. It’s a whole day course in the countryside not far from us which I will absolutely love and look forward to going to, also doubles up as a day ‘off’ / day to myself which to me is one of the best gifts.

I saw Paddington yesterday. Whatever the ticket price it was worth every penny . I’d
go again tomorrow in a heart beat

What about a hotel chocolat velvetiser or a posh coffee machine or a lovely tea pot (depending on your choice of hot drink)
Cheese and champagne
lovely slippers, Uggs or similar
nice feeding bras
Subs to all the streaming channels
Lovely boots do you can stomp around the high street without getting wet feet - I love my Tretorns which I got from Toast.

PeachBlossom1234 · 23/10/2026 13:04

On my list this year is olive picks. Random but I’m sick of using a fork!

I always buy bits for myself that I wrap up so my DD doesn’t wonder why Santa hasn’t left me anything, so far I’ve got a few bits of makeup and skincare, a book, a calendar and socks. Everyone always gets socks and pants for Christmas right?

Oooh I’ve recently discovered my love for pickled onions so I might add some nice picks to my list!

I got one of their cashmere jumpers last year and it's worn and washed really well. I'd recommend, it feels very similar to my Me&Em cashmere jumper

oliverwilliams18 · 23/10/2026 14:36

Stealing from my wife's list last year. A proper pedicure voucher, not a cheap one, the spa kind. A casserole dish she had circled for months. And good knitwear. The rule in our house now is simple. If she circled it, sighed at it, or sent me a link just looking, it goes on the list. Vague hints get vague gifts.

reluctantbrit · 23/10/2026 14:56

My birthday is beginning of December so this is my list for both;

Books, I keep a list of books I find during the year and then ask for some of them
a Kobo e-reader
a Moka coffee pot
a calendar, I give some suggestions and the rest is up to DH and DD
Lego flowers

Big hits last year were the two Book Nooks I got. I needed DH to help assembling but I love them and it was nice spending several evenings doing them together.

EverardDeTroyes · 23/10/2026 15:03

My list currently has several books on it, new oven gloves, some sheepskin slipper boots, a cashmere wrap, a new handbag (nothing designer, just need a new one as my current one is very old and scraggy) and some gold stud earrings. I might add a wool jumper or cardigan if I can find one I like. I know this is sad, but I wouldnt turn down a nice linen teatowel or two either, I just have to look for some nice designs as my family are shit at choosing anything so I have to provide links.

ETA also have a December birthday, I would not expect all of the above just for Christmas!
