What’s on your list (if you’re a woman who actually wants stuff)

If you’re the type of woman says “all I want for Christmas is a hug from my children and a single Ferrero Rocher” then that’s absolutely lovely but not what I’m asking. I need ideas for stuff for myself, lovely things I may not have come across, to put on my Christmas list!!

So far I have a voucher for a Margaret Dabbs medical pedicure
A new casserole dish, Le Creuset style
The secret of cooking by Bee Wilson
A little zip up thing to put in my handbag with my essentials

I’d love some really nice knitwear also.
What sort of lovely things are on your lists?

On my list is:

Nars lipstick
M&S perfume
Adidas trainers
Beauty of Joseon glow serum
The Bodyshop cleansing balm
Silver bracelet
Christian Dior eyeshadow
A satin lined, roll up shower cap!

I need a new riding helmet, so I have asked for vouchers to be used for riding wear - so if any left over (I can dream) I can put towards a new pair of boots.

A good warm, waterproof coat. Wouldn't even turn my nose up at a Dryrobe.

Some nice chocolates (although I am allergic to dark chocolate I'm keeping my eye open for a white chocolate assortment).

Nice smellies. Left to my own devices I just buy whatever is cheapest and does the job, so something nicer than that would be lovely.

A hamper of interesting foods. My daughter is hosting Christmas at her house this year so I won't have the usual fridge full of leftovers to snack on through to the new year and it would be nice to have some delicious things to try.

I live alone and have to organise everything for myself all the time, so a really good gift for me is for one or more of my kids to organise an outing, adventure or experience and all I have to do is go along and everything is sorted for me!

A travel mug with a proper china inner so my tea doesn't taste shit.
Some pyjamas.

Full house clean by a decent cleaner 🤣

My current wish list includes, an electric diffuser with some nice oils too, a new pair of Toms shoes. An expensive perfume, love Diptique ones, a good bottle of champagne - veuve or similar.

Me and DH have £100 budget to buy our own Xmas gifts which we then open in front of each other with a mince pie and cuppa (or glass of wine). It’s lovely as we can treat ourselves without the guilt!

This year I have bought myself a Xmas SHO coffee cup (reusable) which I will allow myself to use from Dec and bring out each year. I have also ordered a filofax and inserts to feel organised for 2027 and I think I will buy some welly socks or sheepskin insoles for dog walks, new gloves also for dog walks and some chocolate with the remainder of the money.

I’m a crocheter so it’s yarn. Or rather a yarn voucher! I’d also love a new gas fire as my current one looks like it’s kaput and I’ve been quoted £500 to service it and sweep the chimney - forget it! A hair colour voucher - I want to try some highlights but in London £200 plus! Sadly my DD is at uni, my son on minimum wage and no partner so unlikely to get any of that!

GreenSedan · 22/10/2026 16:51

Padel racquet and new perfume (surprise me!).

MyManinCaracas · 22/10/2026 16:53

Otiumberg earrings
Vouchers for a facial and pedicure
Cornishware vase
Winter coat
Slippers

EmmaB1309 · 22/10/2026 16:56

I need a new coat- not a posh one, but a smart one that is waterproof preferably with a hood.

I bought an airfryer to see if I would like it but it’s a small one. I could do with a bigger one with two drawers. I know asking for household items as gifts is frowned but what can I say? It’s what a i want.

Someone else mentioned à la creuset dish- that for me too! I need a new casserole dish.

I always like getting perfume and I’m not fussy about it.

BlackCatBea · 22/10/2026 16:57

Switch 2
ninja slushie

i won’t get either as they’re too expensive so maybe a new loungefly backpack instead would be nice and some wax melts

Ponderingwindow · 22/10/2026 17:01

A new paper cutter. They discontinued the replacement blades for my current model.
Heat gun
adjustable height table for some of my equipment.
funko pops

Trying very hard to resist the siren call of Lego as I have a backlog.

IsThistheMiddleofNowhere · 22/10/2026 17:03

Molton Brown Shower Gel
Sylvian Grant Minimal Duo Pendant
Airpods - not Apple ones, just a good rated cheap version

Funandnames · 22/10/2026 17:07

I agree with loving cosy gifts like candles, knitwear, books, and experiences (like date days booked in)!

But also I turned 40 this year so I’m all about the posh skincare….!

Hoork · 22/10/2026 17:08

A new phone case

Davros · 22/10/2026 17:16

I’ve also got my Rod Stewart fund open for donations. I’ve got tickets for the O2 and Dublin. My birthday is in January so I could ask for donations then. But I will be sharing my list upthread

FruAashild · 22/10/2026 17:20

A want to have (but no chance of) cruise would be lovely too!

Would you mind linking to this calendar please @Rainbow1901

SnortCorner · 22/10/2026 17:25

Many books and CDs
Perfume
Lined crocs
Jigsaws
Some new pearl stud earrings
I might ask for some fancy loose leaf tea, a new tea pot and a tea strainer as well.

PetulaGordeno · 22/10/2026 17:27

Needmorelego · 22/10/2026 11:58

Some books.
Lego/other brick brands.
Box of After Eights that are for me only and no one else is allowed to even sniff.
Maybe a HMV voucher to go towards one of their t-shirts.

Can I not eat a few of your chocs and put the little sleeves back so you don’t notice?!!! Until it’s too late!

ChocolateCinderToffee · 22/10/2026 17:27

A solid gold bangle
Scent from Santa Maria Novella
A new backpack (small one, to replace the one I use instead of a handbag)
Flowers
Fluffy slippers
Body lotion
Many books
Luxury chocolates

Daggert · 22/10/2026 17:30

money/vouchers to spend on things like quality yarn and thread, a big box of really good sewing machine needles so I can change them regularly, things that make a massive difference to me but I can't always afford to buy for myself. And workshops. I love learning new skills.

WWomble · 22/10/2026 17:32

My wishlist, totally unrealistic, but these are the things I’d adore, most definitely not in order -
Ninja Creami
Massager with heat for back, feet or whole body
Stretch fabric, in 2 and a half metre lengths, better yet vouchers for one of my fav online retailers
tech upgrade- phone or iPad Air
most of all, a new puppy!!

In the real world I’d be happy with a bag of my fav truffles!

Lozlegs · 22/10/2026 17:35

The only present I remember from the last 2 years is an M&S shopping bag with a bottle of wine, fancy crackers and several cheeses. I LOVE cheese so friend who thought of that hit the bullseye.

TheGardenPond · 22/10/2026 17:40

A kilt from the Boden catalogue gift selection at the back.

julieh1968 · 22/10/2026 17:46

Gold cutlery, I could buy myself but I already have everyday and a new stainless steel set so can’t warrant the outlay. I’d need 12 place settings.
