Thread 3 - the one where things get serious

Reastie · 22/09/2026 15:23

All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations Smile .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

I’ve been following these threads for a while but can’t work out which website this is!

My boys - older teens & 20s- all still love a bit of Lego at Xmas. Keep an eye out for the bonsai tree (lovely) or similar, or the city scape 18+ ones like Paris/ New York/ London, they're lovely & small enough to be on a shelf in a room

The bonsai tree is beautiful, I agree.
I'm going to look at the London set, so thank you for this!

Does anyone know if the 25% off Posca pens at hobby craft is a good deal? Wondering if it is worth holding out for a 30% for Black Friday

Onemoret1me · 01/10/2026 05:45

Thanks for the Plouise instructions.
I spend £12.90 and got the mystery bundle, lip duo, x2 micellar water and face cleanser

it also stacks with blue light discount

I couldn’t find the mystery bag to add at first - wait for the pop up for the code and then I went to my email and clicked the link ‘add to bag’ and it worked

also had to checkout as a guest as Apple Pay wouldn’t work

TabbyMoggie · 30/09/2026 17:16

I finally got it to work after much trial and error. Make sure you have your unique code for the free mystery box saved somewhere.
If you've ordered from Plouise before make sure you open the link in incognito mode and use a new email address.
Open this link first to add the Welcome Beauty Bundle to your cart without the discount.
Then add the Cheetah Micellar Water Magazine to your cart, again no discount yet. It may put a second one in your cart for free.
Then add anything else that brings your total over £50 (at least £10.05), I chose the beauty saver bundle, 3 items for £18. Your free gift should automatically apply now.
Click checkout, then add the code for the free mystery bag and add code TREAT for the free micellar water. If you have ordered Plouise before, make sure you use a new email and don't use the "Shop" checkout as it will recognise you through that too! It might ask you to verify shop details when you put your phone number in if you have a Shop account - don't verify as it will recognise you and remove the discounts.
Hope it works for you now! 🤞

Edited

Thank you so much for this, I managed to get it working too!

Lots of amazon deals live to prime users. Sadly nothing on my list or that has temped me enough to buy although sat here wishing I had enough for a robot hoover haha.

If you have Costco membership, these are in store atm (25 for £29.98 inc VAT)

This thread is dangerous! 🙈 After holding out for a while I've just made a Plouise order. Thanks to everyone's advice I got all the freebies plus a cleanser for me and a cute teddy condioner for my daughter.

My baby born order arrived yesterday and thankfully the clothes do fit a Tiny Treasures doll so that's a stocking filler sorted.

Just waiting for my Starfish order now...

Jurassic Jim's fossil advent calendars are back on his Facebook. I remember they were popular last year

Would you happen to know if he sells these on a store rather than just FB? I don't use FB. Thanks :)

I have this Roborock robo vac which is very good for the early Prime deal price.

Ooh that's a steal. Don't want to derail the thread but quick question...how do they work with children who leave things on the floor? Does it just move away from larger items? I'm thinking pencils, barbie dolls. I know it couldn't physically hoover them up more worried it would get damaged trying to.

I don't use the scheduling function so tend to just clear everything off the floor and set it off when we go up to do bedtime and then it's done by the time I get back downstairs.

It has AI object detection so is very good at avoiding things but they have to be high enough for the sensors to detect. Anything too low (like a pencil) I don't think it would see.

Sometimes things get stuck in a wheel and you have to fish it out but I think it would be hard to damage.

I find that the looming robot is a great motivator to get tidying up all the toys and god knows what cluttering the floor!

HeddaGobbler · 01/10/2026 07:58

argh I didn’t check out my Amazon basket yesterday so missed the plantable seed calendar and football figure advent calendar. Gutted!

Haha I know I realised as I was typing the real answer is just to pick everything up. My dd is neurodiverse and sometimes things just have to stay where shes put them for an easy life haha but we obviously manage the days we do hoover 🤣

mumonthehill · 01/10/2026 08:37

Oh unexpectedly bought a robo vac! Now to name it!! Not on my Christmas list at all!

We use Rocky the robot as a threat to our toddler 😂 he moves very quickly when he thinks rocky is on the way!

Thanks for the £10 off £69 spend on Lego. The Lego Evee was included which DS11 will love. Also, not in that offer but at lowest price was Lego Vintage Steam Train at £57.50
