Thread 3 - the one where things get serious

[Reastie]

All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

My £1 Amazon jumper was cancelled. Sad times.

Anyone know anything about 3d pens please? For a 9 year old. Any recommendations and do I also need to buy extra filament?

Hadn't heard of Joybuy, checked them out on MSE, is legit

Can’t remember who originally posted about the Plouise mystery bag offer etc but I’ve finally managed to crack it! Thank you so much.

Managed to get 2 x mini micellar waters, crystal bad b, what a treat bubblegum bundle including 5 products, and the welcome mystery bag all for £28 👌 my DD will love these

I've had things from Starfish before and they have been lovely. I ordered on 19th and have had dispatch notice today. IMHO they are a lovely and reputable organisation but retail is not their main drive (supporting trafficked women is) and an influx of orders and moving their warehouse means that a small organisation may not be as efficient at sending out orders as M&S or Amazon but if you stick with it you should get lovely stuff at a bargain price and for a good cause.

Thank you very much to @Freya1542 for mentioning the M&S sale which is now 70% off its own brands. I wish I’d checked the thread earlier.

If you like embroidery or sewing you might consider buying a denim trucker jacket for £13.49 and decorating it for a personalised gift. I’m partway through putting lots of white sashiko embroidery on a Levi’s trucker jacket for myself but have ordered one of these to decorate with appliquéd Liberty Tana Lawn scraps which I already have. You could also buy embroidered patches, which can be very cheap on Amazon, and attach those.

I got the 'sorry, we don't know when we are sending it' email from them, so not holding out mich hope!

Mine too. Wouldn't be surprised if they are cancelled, though, as I am having horrible luck this year!

I’ve missed a few pages (work/illkids) so sorry if someone might have already posted this- Amazon coloursoft kindle down from £239 to £144.99 today- not sure if it might go lower in prime days next week?

Dd has asked for a tear off calendar that reveals a scene throughout the year, the ones I can see on Amazon seem £££, does anyone have any cheaper recommendations for them please? I’ve never seen them before now.

Notino gift sets are nice. Various options eg https://www.notino.co.uk/beauty/discovery-box-notino-bloom-babe-set-unisex/p-16371908

Anything by Pamela Buchart is fabulous. She is a teacher and the books are brilliantly engaging. I think Pugly books are that age group

Thank you for this!

I think that the Starfish “we don’t know when it will be sent” email is a standard one because I replied saying no I definitely want it and I’m just excited I got a lovely email back, this was quite late at night and agree with PP that it’s a small business and they aren’t used to this. I genuinely think I’ve ordered some lovely pieces and when they do turn up it will be a great surprise!
In bargain news this is good value at Sephora https://www.sephora.co.uk/p/glow-recipe-smooth-skin-sailing-blur-hydrate?

If the link doesn’t work it’s the glow recipe smooth sailing set - great for teen skin

There are some 70% off items in the final day of the moonpig sale, including a bottle of Hotel Chocolat salted caramel velvetised cream for £7.50.

I ordered snickers and candy kittens gift sets. I expect the dates will be short so maybe not great for Christmas but my family will enjoy them this autumn!

There were also some skinny dip items with big reductions, and Cath Kidston and Lego with smaller reductions.

it let me add a free card with a gift too.

The downside was £5.99 postage- I couldn’t find a way round that unfortunately.

Any Frozen fans? Elsa is down to £5 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B2BPFHNG

Bluey Lego house is at £30 on Amazon, think this is half price.

This looks to be a good price - £11.99 which is the lowest in the last year and can’t see it cheaper anywhere from a quick google. Hoping I can remember how to do short links…

Lego Minecraft The Warden

Just seen a post on Facebook saying Daisie body wash is £1.38 in Asda. I’ve not been to the local store though so can’t confirm
