All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations Smile .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

Just in case anyone else with a Blue Light Card is a plum like me and didn't realise, you can buy discounted giftcards for various shops in the app and they will be delivered instantly so you can spend them instore there and then.

I have saved about 15 quid in three shops this morning by purchasing gift cards for the exact amount I was spending literally whilst I was in the queue.

Sorry if that is stating the obvious but I thought you could only buy giftcards in advance so this was new news to me.

IamChipmunk · 28/09/2026 13:50

@IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece I have a Tom Ford dupe from Essence Vault and It lasts really well. Strong and easily lasts the full day without being topped up.

Puffalicious · 28/09/2026 13:20

I'm also very nervous. No contact since order confirmation on 19th Sep!

Did you check your spam/junk folder? Mine went in there!

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 28/09/2026 14:00

Thank you @IamChipmunk and @Talisin , sounds like its worth giving it a go!

Hippeedippeemee · 28/09/2026 14:02

What shops did you do this in? I’ll have to try it! Thanks

Yup. Nothing 😔. It's an £80+ order, so nervous!

It was River Island, TK Maxx and Sainsbury's. I've used my card online and in restaurants etc for years but this was my first time paying this way instore. It was very easy.

I’ve heard nothing from Starfish either and I am really angry that I didn’t go through PP, (wouldn’t go through for some reason). I used Apple Pay connected to my ‘spare’ bank account - something I have never done before and won’t be doing again.

This is why I shouldn’t make impulse buys in the middle of the night!

TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe · 28/09/2026 14:51

I just accidentally stumbled across these pretty good prices on Liberty stationery bits and pieces at TKMaxx. I doubt they’ll hang about long.

Same. I ordered on 18th.

I got some of these in B&M today - not for my wine but for my daughter's jellycat bunnies. Saw them being worn by bunnies on Facebook or similar so can't take credit for the idea. Far cheaper than the Designafriend gear her soff toys are currently rocking. They have a few Halloween ones too. N.b. Not sure the hats will fit.

Superdrug has some great offers on Daise, lots of things are cheaper than Boots eg the Shower Foams are just £3.22 (Boots £5), Deoderant spray £1.99 (Boots £3) https://www.superdrug.com/daise/b/403824

Does anyone know if this Lego is likely to come down in price? My DS has asked for this specific one but I’m unsure whether to just get it now or wait….

I mean I know it’s not overly expensive but any saving is a saving hey! 🙈

I’ve been watching this exact model and that’s roughly the best price I’ve managed to find it at.

Realfastfoodie · 28/09/2026 16:11

Thanks so much for this. I've just spent a happy 45 minutes choosing lovely books for all sorts of people for presents- DS1, his gf, DS3, DNiece X2, DNeph, DP. Delighted, and HarperCollins is local. Superb..

I’d love to hear what you have picked!

I wanted to pay with PayPal as their refund process is a lot easier than banks but I couldn’t see the option to pay with PayPal

Ok thank you I’ll just order it while it’s this price I think, seems to be £22.99 in other places.

I’d love to hear what you have picked!

Here you are. There's a med student, an Environmental Geoscience grad, a few football fanatics, DS who did Geography as part of his degree, a history mad wee one & a Fortnite addict all in there! Books are the BEST gift. Great as a little add on.

Delighted with 50% off.

I ordered from Starfish on the 18th as well and have just had a dispatch notification, and email from DPD that they are expecting my parcel. So I think they are getting through the orders, just slowly. Poor communication from them though!

hby9628 · 28/09/2026 17:15

@ChristmasJumperzthanks have ordered some Daisie for my tweens birthday next week

going to check out the Harper Collins offer after work

VikingNorthUtsire · 28/09/2026 17:15

Speaking of bargain books, is everyone aware of Postscript Books? They have some great books from 99p up (good quality editions, heavily reduced, rather than the cheapo ones that you get from some bargain retailers) and they also sell beautiful wall calendars for £4.99 each at this time of year.

IlovePond · 28/09/2026 17:22

Ah, that will be why I didn’t use PP @hugsandpugs - I really shouldn’t order things when half asleep 🙀

I've purchased a calendar for my DS for the last three years from Postscript. We're working through the artists, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, LS Lowry. Lovely calendars and the postage isn't too bad - £3.20 this year for a single calendar.

Also for cheap children’s books highly recommend books for bugs, lovely small family business with a lot of books £2.99 or less.
