Thread 3 - the one where things get serious

[Reastie]

All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

So lovely aren’t they 😍 it’s MTL2609NX which works on sale items

Harper Collins have 50% off today only with code AUTUMN50

Did you check it was 2026 😂

Tesco clearance in my store has a 24 pack of multi coloured sharpies for £8 down from £26. Some own brand gift type candles very reduced too.

A little tip - if you download Coupert on your App Store it will automatically check all the coupons it can find when you click into a discount code box. It’s saved me a fortune!

😂😂It didn't say but knowing my luck you're probably spot on!

@hugsandpugs Thanks for the Matalan discount info, I’ve picked up a couple of bits for myself and some little wrap ups for Christmas (plus a Halloween print blanket for DSD)

@Overherelikeeeyore That’s a great tip! 😃 Does it work when you’re using apps or just on normal webpages?

No problem 😊

their Christmas bear range is adorable and is currently 20% off but save an extra 10% with the code. They have a microwaveable bear which I’ve got for DD which the hot chocolate and marshmallow toppers 😍

Not sure re apps as I just use safari x

Yes, I think that's the place. I'll drag him out of his bed soon & order - bank holiday here 👏.

Croc slippers arrived. I think they are great. The kids will love them. Still waiting on my starfish delivery though.

I’m still waiting on mine too not even had an update I’m gonna email them

Just been on the starfish website apparently they have a new website now which is USA based 🤔

There was a message saying that was temporary as they will have a new UK website when they have finished moving the warehouse.

I've emailed them as I got an update from DPD saying it was delivered - but the tracking says it was delivered to a parcel shop. It should have been delivered to my home address!

I’ve just had a dispatch email! Should be here soon

£10 off a £60 spend at hotel chocolate atm
free delivery over £50 too

For whoever was looking at gluten free items for a hamper, Sainsburys have quite a lot of products on nectar price making them slightly more reasonable!
didn’t check the dates though

That's a pretty new set I know as I bought it for grandson when it was released. It must have been after his birthday in June because it wasn't out then. I would grab it at that price tbh.

Has anyone tried these before? Do they last? I've bought a couple of fragrances inspired by my beloved neroli Portifino and they last about 30 mins

Thanks so much for this. I've just spent a happy 45 minutes choosing lovely books for all sorts of people for presents- DS1, his gf, DS3, DNiece X2, DNeph, DP. Delighted, and HarperCollins is local. Superb..

I'm also very nervous. No contact since order confirmation on 19th Sep!

I have three perfumes from them - two last ages, one doesn’t.

It might just be me, but some people who are sensitive to gluten (rather than being coeliac) are sensitive to some basic chemical additives too, for example the ones which make bread last longer, E280 and E282. (Calcium propionate?Sodium propionate?

A lot of g-f products sold in Sainsbury’s contain these, eg most of the bread and cakes - but not all. The biscuits and cookies tend to be OK. The dark chocolate covered ginger biscuits would be good for a present and are delicious, but I like their ordinary g-f ginger biscuit cookies too. Sainsbury’s basic biscuits can be a bit hard, though.

My starfish order arrived today. But I’ve opened it up and it’s for someone else
